Jack Young (the only rider to win a world final when still with a second division club) reputedly used this machine during 1953-1955

In the early nineteen hundreds they entered the motor cycling scene and went on to produce some excellent machines. This machine is number 36 and believed to be the oldest survivor.

The heightened first 3 letters of the Wallis tank logo denoted his input. When fitted with the new DT J.A.P engine, it made a formidable combination.

These were given to West Ham Speedway for rigorous testing. This is the proto type (the first of the 3) to be tried out and was the only one which featured a readily adjustable balance factor. 15 Months later Vincent reclaimed all 3 after a major dispute with the West Ham management

Engine No. F.E.R.A.1Carburettor - Linkert, racing type Fuel - Methanol (mixture) Purchased by Ian Paterson in 1994 unrestored from Alan Forbes in Edinburgh. Ian was told that the bike was first ridden in Australia by Spencer Stratton who brought it to the UK. It remained in the UK until it was purchased by an American collector in the 60s.The American dirt track racing motorcycles were running on methanol fuel and consequently were using very high compression ratios. On large tracks in the USA and Australia they provided the Harley 'Peashooter' with some very tough opposition.
