Owned since 2012 and on offer directly from the second owner with main dealer Mercedes-Benz service history from new and a shade over 26,000 miles. The R230-generation SL was an instant hit following its public debut at the 2001 Frankfurt Auto Show and subsequent crowd-pleasing performance as the F1 Safety Car at the German Grand Prix at Hockenheim in the same year. The flagship models of the range were the mighty AMG models from the wizards at Affalterbach in the form of the V8-powered SL55 AMG and V12 Bi-Turbo SL65 AMG. Both models offered tremendous performance and equally exceptional road holding and ride quality thanks to their advanced 'ABC' suspension system. The facelifted SL63 was launched in 2008 and replaced the previous SL55 model, the supercharged 5.5-litre V8 of the former model making way for the M156 normally-aspirated 6.2-litre V8 as seen in the S63 model. As to be expected with any new AMG SL, the SL63 offered exceptional performance from its 518bhp V8 with 465 lb/ft torque mated to an all new MCT 7-speed automatic transmission with steering wheel-mounted paddle shift.Supplied in Iridium Silver with an Anthracite leather interior, this example was registered to the first of just two owners on 25th September 2008. Elegant left-hand drive 120 Coupé, powered by an XK140 'S-spec' engine and classically presented in Jaguar Opalescent Silver. This particular Jaguar XK120 Coupé was originally shipped to the USA in 1952 before distribution through Jaguar Cars New York, remaining there for some time before returning to the UK in 1990, at which point a schedule of works was required to bring the XK back to a standard befitting of such an elegant Grand Tourer.Over the following two years, the body was stripped to bare metal and refinished in Jaguar Opalescent Silver but not before new doors and an alloy boot lid were fitted. Mechanically everything was thoroughly checked and overhauled, including the fitting of a slightly later and more powerful XK140 'S-spec' engine fitted with a C-Type head. Various other works were also completed at this time, including the fitting of a stainless steel exhaust system, a replacement fuel tank with Facet fuel pump, a new wiring loom and woodwork refinished by Classic Veneers.More recently recommissioned after a period of inactivity, the Jaguar now presents extremely well and with a clean bill of health, is ready to be used once again as intended, be that out on the open road, gracing the show field or being left-hand drive it's particularly suitable for European touring. Whatever your requirements, this very sensibly guided XK certainly warrants your early inspection which we welcome and encourage.Specification Make: JAGUAR Model: XK120 FHC Year: 1952 Chassis Number: 680257 Registration Number: FSK 697 Transmission: Manual Drive Side: Left-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 23174 Miles Make: LHD Interior Colour: Red HideClick here for more details and images
Offered without Reserve and from the Grand Tourers Collection, a smart example and showing less than 70,000 miles. The Grand Tourers Collection was curated by a now deceased gentleman, who amassed some 38 cars at one stage. Each car stands on its own merits, and represents an era of stylish roadsters and hand-built coupés. Offered at No Reserve, the cars are worthy of serious attention. Some cars need no introduction and the Jaguar E-Type is no exception. The Series 2 Jaguar E-Types that were produced from 1969 to 1971 can be identified by their open headlights (no longer with glass covers), a wrap-around rear bumper with the taillights now underneath and the front indicators were larger and similarly repositioned below the slightly heavier front bumpers. The cooling was much improved helped by the enlarged 'mouth'. Series 2 cars also feature twin electric fans and uprated brakes. The engine is easily identified visually by the change from smooth polished cam covers to a ribbed appearance and, for US-spec cars, twin Stromberg carburettors were used. The interior and dashboard were also redesigned, with flick switches being substituted by rocker switches to meet US-regulations.The car we have before us today is accompanied by a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate that states it was built on the 1st October 1970 and factory finished in British Racing Green with beige leather and a black Everflex vinyl roof. With its five-speed manual gearbox it was destined for the United States and distributed there British Leyland, New York.Repatriated on the 1st June 2017 joining the 38 car Collection of the previous owner, as stated by the accompanying V5C. Offered to auction at Without Reserve with a fresh MOT and pleasingly finished in the same colour combination as it left the factory. The perfect car for continental touring with arguably the best engine and gearbox fitted into any E-Type.Specification Make: JAGUAR Model: E-TYPE Year: 1970 Chassis Number: P2R14812 Registration Number: HGU 746J Transmission: Manual Engine Number: 7R14360H Drive Side: Left-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 69382 Miles Make: LHD Interior Colour: Beige LeatherClick here for more details and images
Offered without Reserve from the Grand Tourers Collection, with a detailed history file evidencing decades of maintenance and a modest 55,598 miles. The Grand Tourers Collection was curated by a now deceased gentleman, who amassed some 38 cars at one stage. Each car stands on its own merits, and represents an era of stylish roadsters and hand-built coupes. Offered at No Reserve, the cars are worthy of serious attention. The Interceptor was as much Italian as British, designed as it was by Carrozzeria Touring with the bodyshells built by Vignale before being delivered to the West Bromwich factory to be paired with the inimitable 6.3-litre Chrysler V8 and mechanicals. When new, the Interceptor cost substantially more than an Aston Martin and was double the price of an E-Type Jaguar. One would struggle to find a connection between Frank Sinatra and Sir Matt Busby but both drove an Interceptor. The celebrity ownership list is extensive whilst the Interceptor's appearance on a slew of glamourous TV action series during the period gave the car a certain louche, playboy image. The Interceptor III, introduced in 1971, had a revised front grille, headlamp finishers and bumper treatment. It had GKN alloy wheels and air conditioning as standard, and revised seats. It was divided into G-, H-, and J-series depending on the production year. The 6.3-litre 383 ci engine was superseded by the 7.2-litre 440 ci in 1971.Jensen had fallen on hard times by 1975, owing to the then world-wide recession, and to problems with its Jensen-Healey sports car. The company was placed into receivership and the receivers allowed production to continue until the available cache of parts was exhausted. Production of the Interceptor ended in 1976, marking the end of an era.First registered on 1st September 1973, the incredibly detailed history file shows evidence of decades of maintenance from marque specialists, including the renowned Cropredy Bridge Cars. Offered from six year prior ownership, this charming car is presented with an odometer reading of 55,598 miles at the time of cataloguing, along with reams of receipts and a fresh MOT for the sale.A lovely example tantalizingly offered at without Reserve and worthy of serious attention.Specification Make: JENSEN Model: INTERCEPTOR Year: 1973 Chassis Number: 1368858 Registration Number: NRL 620M Transmission: Autoatic Engine Number: 3C11794 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 55598 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: Red LeatherClick here for more details and images
A C16, UK-supplied, right-hand drive, manual gearbox Cabriolet with less than 57,000 miles from new. It is often said that each decade received the Porsche 911 it deserved and yet it remains today the only sports car that still retains styling elements that are identifiable 60 years on. Launched in 1994, the 993 Series marked the end of air-cooled 911 production and Porsche’s engineers redesigned their standard-bearing model from the ground-up, to such an extent that only around 20% of its parts were carried over from the previous generation. British designer, Tony Hatter’s, penmanship effortlessly combined subtlety and road presence for a changing demographic with an expansive option list to match the individual’s enthusiasm at a time when the right image was deemed as important as performance. On offer here is a 'C16' UK-supplied right-hand drive 993 Cabriolet fitted with the desirable manual gearbox. First registered in June 1995, it has covered less than 57,000 miles since then and has clearly been well looked after, with the most recent service in September 2024 by Sam Lander Porsche Engineering, ensuring that the car is ready for its next lucky owner. The 911 is accompanied by the original owners book pack and service book in their original leather wallet and a selection of maintenance and service history invoices. The Porsche has been looked after by a mixture of Porsche main dealers in its early years and in more recent times, by independent specialists such as Project Nine, Tom Ferguson and Sam Lander Porsche Engineering.Finished in Iris Blue Metallic, the car sits on 17" Porsche-crested ‘Cup 2’ alloy wheels and the comprehensive specification also includes a deployable rear spoiler, electric folding convertible roof, tinted windscreen, wind deflector, electrically adjustable hardback sports seats and a trip computer. The original radio has been replaced with a modern JVC audio system with Bluetooth connectivity. The eagle-eyed amongst you will also see that the interior has been professionally retrimmed in blue and cream quilted leather, with cream Porsche crests embroidered on the seats’ headrests. This freshly serviced, air-cooled example sends it’s power to the rear wheels through a manual gearbox, meaning every box is ticked here for the true 911 enthusiast. Offered at a very competitive estimate, we encourage and welcome your inspection at the NEC.NB; This vehicle will be issued with a fresh MOT prior to the sale.Specification Make: PORSCHE Model: 911 CABRIOLET Year: 1995 Chassis Number: WP0ZZZ99ZSS331924 Registration Number: M93 ACK Transmission: Manual Engine Number: 63S05658 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 56939 Miles Make: RHDClick here for more details and images
Always a rare sight on UK roads, this low-mileage, Scotia White Evo V GSR is offered with a very tempting guide. Mitsubishi had enjoyed much success in rallying all around the world since 1973 with their Gallant, Lancer and Starion, however in 1992, the decision was made to fully commit to winning the World Rally Championship (WRC). Utilising the best of the technologies established through previous years, including their much refined four-wheel drive S-AWC system (Super-All Wheel Control), the Lancer GSR Evolution model series was launched. True to its name, the series has undergone an ongoing evolution process ever since its introduction, with improvements in engine performance and handling leading to the Evolution II in 1993 and the Evolution III in 1995.Following the introduction of the new Lancer road car model which debuted major improvements in styling and performance, the Lancer GSR Evolution IV was launched in 1996, boasting more power and ever more innovative technology including their new AYC (Active Yaw Control) adaptive handling enhancement system. The Evolution V continued the process with a further increase in engine torque and substantially improved handling thanks to a wider track and upgraded Brembo braking. Its 2-litre, DOHC, intercooler-turbocharged, four-cylinder engine now used an upgraded intercooler, enlarged nozzle area in the twin-scroll turbocharger, lighter pistons, an upgraded radiator and oil-cooler to produce 280bhp. Launched in January 1998 and produced for only a year, the Lancer Evolution V took up the motorsport mantle, at least in terms of the WRC. A new ruling allowing a bigger body gave Mitsubishi the opportunity to extend the previous models platform, increasing brake and wheel size, adding 10mm to its track and displaying, for the first time, flared arches and much more aggressive styling. Its now widely accepted that finding credible examples of the Evolution V is becoming increasingly hard. In Japan, Evos were only produced by the Mitsubishi factory in five basic trims, RS, RS2, GT, GT-A or GSR. This is an exceptionally rare GSR variant, the road-going version of the out and out stripped RS competition edition. Featuring climate-control, electric windows and mirrors, sports seats and alloy wheels, this Scotia White GSR sports the correct Recaro Sports seats and is believed to be one of under 100 produced, making it an exceptionally rare car.Imported from Japan as a Grade 4 car with an impeccable history in 2017, when we understand that that the odometer was converted to miles with certification. It has been within our own vendor's private Collection for the last couple of years. This desirable Evo V comes to sale in superb condition and with such an attractive guide it should readily create a stir amongst JDM collectors.Specification Make: MITSUBISHI Model: EVO V GSR Year: 1998 Chassis Number: CP9A0006060 Registration Number: R583 LVE Transmission: Manual Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 84082 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: GreyClick here for more details and images
One of just 612 examples supplied to the UK, fitted with Truckman Aerotop rear and superbly presented with just 38,839 miles warranted by the original service book. Offered without Reserve. With an interior reputedly inspired by the Frog Prince fairy tale as a reference to Volkswagen’s partnership with Škoda, the limited edition Felicia Fun was launched in 1997 and produced until 2001, a huge departure from the marque’s usual staid and sensible family vehicles. Built at the Škoda factory in Vrchlabí, Czech Republic, the intention was to produce just 300 units for the UK-market. As much a surprise that Škoda produced the car in the first place was that the car was very well received in the UK-market despite the vehicles design somewhat ill-suited to UK climate. In total 612 cars were sold into the UK.All cars were factory finished in Yellow Fun paint and featured the ingenious sliding rear bulkhead to reveal two folding rear seats which were exposed to the elements. UK buyers thankfully were offered respite from the poor weather with a number of factory optional additional roof combinations, such as the Truckman Aerotop detachable rear hardtop. Fitted with the time-proven 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine with a power output of 73bhp, the Felicia Fun had a top speed of 101mph and could do 0-60mph in 12.5 seconds.Supplied new on 26th July 1999 by Škoda main agent, MJL of Surbiton, Surrey, the interior matched the exterior in what could be described today, retrospectively, as eccentric. Never seen on a Škoda before or since, the fabulously kitsch interior combines the aforementioned frog motif cloth inserts to the seating and matched with yellow leather bolsters, door cards, steering wheel and gear stick. The utilitarian dashboard is brightened by the yellow dials and the odometer reading showed 38,839 miles at the time of cataloguing. The rear cargo area is fitted with wooden strips that show very little signs of wear, as does the rest of the car, which was serviced less than 700 miles ago.Presented to auction with the original and well stamped service book, historical receipts, sales brochure, V5C, a fresh MOT will be issued for the sale, whilst the rather fun (pun intended) private registration number is generously included. It is important to note that constrained by the prior dominance of Soviet doctrine, this whimsical motorcar was designed, built and marketed within a decade of the collapse of the USSR and therefore an interesting entry in the history of the motor car.Specification Make: SKODA Model: FELICIA Year: 1999 Chassis Number: TMBEGF677X7080186 Registration Number: T70 FUN Transmission: Manual Engine Number: 771792AEE Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 38839 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: Grey/YellowClick here for more details and images
Beautiful 550 Maranello with Ferrari Classiche Certification and just under 23,000 miles from new.Firmly placed in Ferrari's history as one of their finest modern-era big GTs, the 550 Maranello's combination of elegant lines and legendary front-mounted 12-cylinder engine meant that these cars had the potential to become instant classics. Following in the footsteps and sharing the DNA of the 365 GTB/4 Daytona, the 550 Maranello is inevitability compared to its forbear. Few front-engined Ferraris have quite justified that comparison quite like the 550 Maranello.Styled by Pininfarina, like its illustrious predecessor, the 550 Maranello was similarly proportioned, adopting the classical combination of long bonnet, a small cabin and a truncated tail. Classic Ferrari styling cues include a bonnet air scoop and hot air outlets behind the front wheel-arches recalling the great Competizione Ferraris of the past, whilst the rear incorporates Ferrari's characteristic twin circular lights. The heart of any Ferrari is its engine, and the 550 Maranello's 48-valve, 5.5-litre V12 develops 485bhp at 7,000rpm. The powertrain was housed in a tubular steel chassis, to which was attached aluminium coachwork, whilst the all-independent suspension incorporated dual-mode (normal/sports) damping, switch-selectable by the driver, which was complemented by speed-sensitive power-assisted steering. The 6-speed manual gearbox complements a slightly more even torque curve ensuring that the power delivery was a little less frenetic, whilst excellent weight distribution and delightful road manners make the 550 Maranello a truly refined driving machine, whilst still capable of almost 200mph. Finished in classic Rosso Corsa with a cream leather interior, this beautiful 550 Maranello was delivered new in the UK via Stratstone, Manchester to James Bird of Stone in Shropshire. Having resided with its second owner in Copenhagen, the Ferrari returned to the UK and remained with its next owner until 2014. The car was fully recommissioned by Meridien Modena in 2015 and sold to the previous keeper later that same year. Purchased by our vendor at auction in 2017, the 550 has continued to be maintained regardless of cost with Meridien Modena and will be serviced by them prior to sale and come with 12 months MOT. Described by our vendor as in 'generally excellent condition', this low-mileage 550 Maranello is offered with Ferrari Classiche Certification, sundry service invoices, V5C Registration Certificate, and all its original books, and pleasingly the Cherished Registration Number, T12 FER, is included in the sale. With styling that is ageing particularly well, a high-quality cabin, generous storage and an enormous 100-litre-plus fuel tank, the 550 Maranello really is the consummate 'European Grand Tourer' in the true Ferrari mould.SpecificationMake: FERRARIModel: 550Year: 1999Chassis Number: ZFFZR49C000115006Registration Number: T12 FERTransmission: ManualEngine Number: 52336Drive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 23000 MilesMake: RHDInterior Colour: Cream LeatherClick here for more details and images
Offered without Reserve and from the Grand Tourers Collection, this handsome motor car has an odometer reading of just 30,628 miles. The Grand Tourers Collection was curated by a now deceased gentleman, who amassed some 38 cars at one stage. Each car stands on its own merits, and represents an era of stylish roadsters and hand-built coupes. Offered at No Reserve, the cars are worthy of serious attention. The TD21 was conceived in 1956 and was quite a departure from the lovely, but rather 'post-war' TC21 however, on its arrival in dealer's showrooms, it quickly set about changing established views of the Alvis. Following the loss of coachbuilders Mulliner and Tickford (who were now tied to other companies), Alvis turned to the Swiss coachbuilder, Graber, whose tradition of producing sleek, modern and very elegant saloons and dropheads proved a good fit in terms of the way Alvis saw their future. Graber first presented this new style to the Alvis board in late 1957 who were very impressed with the Swiss company's flowing design and commissioned the body to be built on the new TD chassis. To ease logistical problems, Park Ward of London, built the Graber designed bodies in the UK.The Alvis Three Litre TD21 Series I was produced between the end of 1958 and April 1962 and was powered by the TC's 2,993cc engine, uprated by 15bhp to 115 as a result of an improved cylinder head design and an increased compression ratio. A new 4-speed gearbox from the Austin-Healey 100/6 was incorporated, whilst the suspension remained similar to the car's predecessor, independent at the front using coil springs and leaf springs at the rear, but the track was increased slightly and a front anti-roll bar added. From 1959, the all drum brake set up was changed to discs at the front retaining drums at the rear. This handsome and luxurious motorcar was built in 1959 and presents today in gleaming metallic green paintwork with what appears to be the original, charmingly patinated interior. The odometer reading shows 30,628 miles. The history file includes maintenance receipts, the V5C and an advisory-free MOT valid until 7th October 2025. Wonderfully restored first generation 240Z, Datsun's 1970's flagship, looking as good today as it ever did. The Datsun 240Z was unveiled to the press in October 1969 and made its public appearance a few days later at the Tokyo Motor Show. To say it was well received would be an understatement, with its stylish modernity, well set-out interior and torquey six-cylinder engine. As had become apparent during its creation, the Datsun 240Z represented all the requirements of sporting drivers by fulfilling their desires for superb styling, power and safety whilst providing them with the most thrilling and enjoyable ride available in any car at the time. According to Classic and Sportscar, the 'Z' was 'In a different technical league' whilst Road and Track Magazine noted 'Datsun have reinvented the sports car with the sleek, civilised, sexy and sporty 240Z'.The new car was powered by a lusty 2.4-litre, straight-six, overhead cam engine developing around 150bhp, resulting in a 0-60mph time of eight seconds and a top speed of 125mph. The well spaced 5-speed gear ratios made the most of the engine's torque whilst retaining the ability to achieve in excess of 30mpg, a figure that put the 'Z' ahead of many of its contemporaries and on a par with Porsche 911s of the time. The car featured independent suspension all round, with MacPherson struts at the front and Chapman links at the rear. Rack and pinion steering and front disc brakes meant that the 240Z was a thoroughly modern package. As time passed, the 240Z evolved into the 260Z and later the 280Z, however it's the original 240Z that continues to captivate enthusiasts with its timeless elegance and minimalist design. The 240Z not only established Datsun (now Nissan) as a credible Japanese sports car brand in the early 1970s but also solidified its presence on the American automotive map. Today, the 240Z holds a special place in the hearts of enthusiasts and collectors alike, representing the epitome of the Japanese classic car.Dating from late 1972, although first registered in 1973, the 240Z we present here has been subject to a sympathetic, photo-documented, bare-metal restoration by its long term owner, retaining as many original parts as possible. It now presents in, what we believe is, Grigio Silverstone, with a black leather and needle cord interior, an impressive engine bay and refurbished Wolfrace alloys. Our vendor states that 'after 20 years of ownership that there are no gremlins anywhere, it is and has always been garaged, fully Waxoyled, matching numbers and a comprehensive history dating back to the 1970s'.Worthy of a space in any Collection or enthusiast's hands, whether as a confidence-inspiring driver or a simply stunning showpiece, this 240Z represents the perfect opportunity to own what is one of the finest examples we have seen for some time.Specification Make: DATSUN Model: 240Z Year: 1972 Chassis Number: HS30102522 Registration Number: UYE 909M Transmission: Manual Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 45239 Miles Make: RHDClick here for more details and images
Unleash your spirit of adventure with this Longbridge-built Mini Moke. Offered without reserve. The Mini Moke was designed by Sir Alec Issigonis at the same time as the Mini saloon and used an identical engine, transmission and suspension parts. Although the pre-production prototype came out in 1959, full-scale production did not start until 1964. It may seem strange to design and build a vehicle with no clear idea what you are going to do with it, but this was BMC in the 1960s. It was initially mooted as a parachute-dropped utility vehicle for the British Army, but this notion failed at the first hurdle when they rejected it due to its low ground clearance. It was then decided that it would make an excellent tool for farmers and as a light commercial vehicle. This was partially scuppered yet again when it was rated as a passenger car and therefore subject to Purchase Tax. It did however gain a strong following and became a cult classic after featuring in the TV series, The Prisoner, and found its true role as a fun beach car at which it excelled. Some 14,500 Mokes were produced at BMC's Longbridge plant between 1964 and 1968, before production moved to Australia where a further 26,000 were made between 1966 and 1981. Another 10,000 were made in Portugal before production finally ceased in 1993.On offer here is a genuine, UK-supplied, right-hand drive, Longbridge-built Moke that’s been privately owned by a close friend of Iconic Auctioneers, since 2016 with only light use. The 998cc engine was once subject to an engine rebuild by Laranca Engineering and the Moke itself has been subject to an older restoration.Finished in white with a black hood (hardly used and in good condition), the car sits on a set of genuine Minilite wheels. There is a Jerry can and spare wheel mounted at the rear with a tow bar and the car is accompanied by a folder containing some history, an original brochure, the Moke book and some spares.Excitingly offered without Reserve, this is a British classic to be enjoyed with friends and family, always attracting the right attention and welcome at any classic car event or garden party.Specification Make: AUSTIN Model: MINI MOKE Year: 1965 Chassis Number: AB1677058 Registration Number: ENJ 809C Transmission: Manual Engine Number: 88344 Drive Side: Right-hand DriveClick here for more details and images
Offered without Reserve from The Recreation Collection, blip the throttle and you'll turn the heads of those not already looking. The Recreation Collection was assembled by a gentleman, now deceased, who had a passion for cars, owning at one stage some 38 vehicles. Judging by the receipts on file and the high prices paid in period, he could’ve bought at least one real example for the price he paid for the others! These are special cars and worthy of serious consideration, offered, tantalisingly as they are without Reserve. The most expensive of all cars when sold at auction yet the subject of very few replicas. Based on the very capable and famously nippy Mazda MX-5 which was first registered on 12th May 1995, and retains its original wallet with hand book and service book. Superbly preserved 1602, just 3,349 miles in 49 years. BMW launched its 'Neue Klasse' ('New Class') range of compact saloons and coupés in 1962 and it is no exaggeration to say that they were the cars that saved the company. Up to that point they had been best known for making beautifully engineered but incredibly complex and expensive machines that nobody outside of Germany could either afford or understand. With its crisp, modernist styling, brilliant chassis dynamics and superb engineering, the Neue Klasse changed all that at a stroke and established BMW as a truly international brand. Although it was the 'pocket rocket' 2-litre 2002 that everyone raved about, the smaller 1600-2 and 1500-2 were arguably better cars, being better balanced and cheaper to own and run. An economy version of the 2002, the 1600-2 was launched at the Geneva Auto Show in March 1966 and was sold through 1975, with its name simplified to 1602 in 1971. With 85bhp from its M10 engine, the 1602 won friends for its excellent dynamics and brilliant handling. Now, this really is special. Purchased on 1st January 1975 from Normand (Bromley) Ltd by Mr M J Ledger, finished in Schwarz (086) with a cream leather and cord interior, this gleaming BMW 1602 was to remain in his possession until it became the property of its second owner on 11th May 2016. He, in turn, added it to his Collection using it only occasionally until it was purchased by our vendor in 2019 to add to his Collection of desirable classics. Still in remarkably original condition, this delightful little 'Beemer' has covered a total of 3,349 miles since New Years Day 49 years ago.The car's history file contains the full book pack, original service book, sales brochure, Haynes Manual and copy of the original V5. A Normand (Bromley) Ltd tax disc and leather key ring will also be found in their original paper bag! It's fortunate for the rest of us that there are people who will buy a new car, use it lightly on dry days, return it to their garage and strive consistently over the years to keep the car in, as close as possible, the condition in which it arrived and we would guess that this little BMW has belonged to three of those. An exceptional find and worthy of a place in any Collection.Specification Make: BMW Model: 1602 Year: 1975 Chassis Number: 3560545 Registration Number: GMY 174N Transmission: Manual Engine Number: 3560545 Odometer Reading: 3349 Miles Make: Interior Colour: Cream leatherClick here for more details and images
The Beetle was a masterpiece of innovation and economics - but never lost its sense of fun and character; this delightfully original example would do any enthusiast proud. The Volkswagen Type 1 Beetle changed the world. Like the globally successful Ford Model T, it was a simple, properly-engineered automobile that was inexpensive enough to bring motoring to the masses. And like the Model T, it was strong and reliable and was built around the world in mind-boggling quantities. The Beetle’s heritage goes back to the pre-war KdF-Wagen, whose name stood for Kraft durch Freude and translates loosely to ‘strength through joy’. Conceived from the experiments of Porsche Design’s Project 12, it used a revolutionary rear-mounted engine with Aluminium and Magnesium castings. With a simple yet effective platform chassis, the car underwent countless revisions and prototypes before, eventually, the Series 38 design would embody the Beetle as we know it.With 40bhp from its 1192cc horizontally-opposed, four-cylinder engine with Solex carburettor, a 4-speed manual gearbox, independent front suspension with upper and lower control arms and transverse torsion bars, rear suspension by swing axles with trailing arms and torsion bar and four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes, it was indeed properly-engineered.VW’s Beetle soon became ubiquitous all over the world, even in the United States, where horsepower had always ruled. Over the years, details changed, and displacement increased, but the basic look remained. When production ceased in Mexico in 2003, 21,529,464 had been built in plants on every continent but Antarctica. The car presented here is a right-hand drive 1963 Volkswagen Beetle finished in Birch Green, an original and unrestored example that comes with extensive history and service records. In more recent times, it's been treated to an engine rebuild and an overhaul of the electrical system, with our vendor stating that the body, similarly, is in ‘excellent condition’, with in excess of £12,000 worth of invoices to back this up. The indicated mileage of 66,904 (at the time of cataloguing) would seem wholly commensurate with its well-preserved condition.Volkswagen's Beetle is an important part of automotive history and this very wholesome example would make an ideal first classic for an enthusiast at a most reasonable outlay.Specification Make: VOLKSWAGEN Model: BEETLE 1200 Year: 1963 Chassis Number: 5711101 Registration Number: ADE 402A Transmission: Manual Engine Number: 7886379 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 66904 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: Green Cloth Click here for more details and images

Just one previous owner, 28,873 miles from new and finished in the rare colour of Ford Aubergine. The Escort RS Cosworth was an 'homologation special' and its sole role was to incorporate parts that Ford planned to use in their rally cars to ensure success in International Rallying. Because it was smaller, lighter and more nimble than any of the Sierras, the combination of Cosworth power, four-wheel drive transmission and an effective aerodynamic package made it a Rally Giant in all conditions. Success duly followed between 1993 and 1998 in the World Rally Championship for manufacturers, but the road cars were very rare - with just 2,500 'homologation special' versions made, becoming known as 'big turbo cars', all capable of 150mph and easily identified by the aptly named 'Whale Tail' rear spoiler. On offer here is a UK-supplied, right-hand drive Escort RS Cosworth with only one former keeper and 28,873 miles from new at the time of cataloguing. First registered on 31st August 1995, the car is finished in the rare colour of Ford Aubergine with a Recaro trimmed Polaris Hex Upholstery along with deep pile carpets and carpeted door bins.Being a 'Lux', the car is equipped with opening rear quarter windows, electrically operated and heated door mirrors, ‘Quickclear’ heated windscreen, heated washer jets, 3-spoke leather-covered steering wheel, central double locking, tailgate release, lights on warning, rear centre armrest, rear head restraints, electric sunroof, electric windows, with the factory fitted Ford radio cassette alongside the factory upgrade 2040 CD player. It sits on original Ronal soft-spoke 8x16 genuine Ford alloy wheels in excellent condition shod with Toyo Proxie 225/45ZR16 tyres all round. The car was supplied new by Ford RS dealers, Bristol Street Motors in Cheltenham and is complete with its dealer book pack containing the service history as follows:1,870miles - 18-10-19959,511 miles - 15-05-199619,854 miles - 01-03-199724,593 miles - 26-09-2008 including cambelt kit28,824 miles - 14-06-2022The car is accompanied by three keys, including the 'Red' master key, and the aforementioned service history. This is a low ownership, low-mileage example finished in a rare colour and is therefore an opportunity not to be missed.NB; This vehicle will be issued with a fresh MOT prior to the sale.Specification Make: FORD Model: ESCORT RS COSWORTH Year: 1995 Chassis Number: WF0BXXGKABSE95948 Registration Number: N896 PEG Transmission: Manual Engine Number: SE95948 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 28873 Miles Make: RHDClick here for more details and images
Ex-NAAFI Mk 1 Escort van in delightfully original condition with low mileage and just three owners from new. Offered without Reserve. Introduced in October 1968 and in production until December 1974, the two-door van version of Ford's first generation Escort became a stalwart of small businesses everywhere, peppering every high street in the UK in the early 1970s. Built at Halewood in Liverpool, some 1,082,472 managed to find homes before the arrival of the Mk2 in early 1975. Most were powered by Ford's ultra-reliable 1,098cc Kent OHV four-cylinder with a single carburettor and a five-bearing crank offering a steady 48bhp, quite enough for most applications. Despite the substantial numbers built, survivors are rare with the British weather, more stringent regulations and advancing technology taking their toll.On offer here is a rare Escort 1100 6cwt van with an interesting story to tell. Finished in Ford Marine Royal Blue, it was first registered on 20th March 1974 to the British MOD-NAAFI, transport department in London who used it for deliveries to military bases for the next four years until it was surplus to requirements. It was subsequently purchased by a Mr Edward Hatton on 3rd July 1978 and kept it in his caring ownership until 2006. The third and final registered keeper, Mr Fred Smith from Henlow, then owned the car from 2006 onwards until he eventually retired from driving. It has recently benefitted from some light cosmetic and mechanical recommissioning having sat in heated storage in the past few years. The odometer at the time of cataloguing reads 79,421 miles and the van is supplied with its V5C, tax discs, old MOTs and an original operators manual. This is a great opportunity to acquire a rare van with low ownership and low miles. Delightfully original, it would make a fantastic promotional tool for a small business and being offered without Reserve means this charming 50-year old 6cwt van will find a new home at the NEC.NB; This vehicle will be issued with a fresh MOT prior to the sale.Specification Make: FORD Model: ESCORT MK1 VAN Year: 1974 Chassis Number: BBAVPY41642 Registration Number: TMY 767M Transmission: Manual Engine Number: PY41642 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Make: RHDClick here for more details and images
A very special find, a desirable BRG, late production, pre-injection Mk V Cooper, ordered and purchased brand new by our vendors and just 9,712 miles. Following the original's demise in 1971, John Cooper sold his own modified Minis under the Mini Cooper name from the mid-1980s before Rover's acquisition of the rights made it possible to officially re-launch the model in July 1990. The new Mini Cooper was based on the Mini 30, the most luxuriously equipped limited edition Mini to date, but fitted with the 1,275cc MG Metro A-Series engine rather than the 30's 998cc unit. The Mini Cooper Mk V, as it became known, remained on carburettors until September 1991 when they were fitted with SPi (single port) throttle body fuel-injection and entitled the Mk VI although non-Cooper cars continued in Mk V spec until the following year. This remarkable little 1991 Rover Mini Cooper 1275 was ordered new by our vendors from Mann Egerton & Co Ltd, 151 Abbey Lane, Leicester, LE4 5QY in desirable British Racing Green and optioned with a factory-fitted sunroof. It was built in mid-summer 1991 and first registered on 1st August 1991, making it one of the last of the Mk V carburettor cars. Delightfully original, having covered just 9,712 miles from new with its only owner, it has never previously been offered for sale on the open market. It's supplied with its original plastic pouch, Rover Owner Information & Service Record with three stamps in the book, Mini Cooper owners handbook, Rover In Car-Entertainment booklet, AA members handbook 1990/1991, original Rover Service Interval Requirements sheet, old MOT certificates back to 1997, the original spare wheel and toolkit and a spare key. The MOT is valid ('No Advisories') until October 2025 and the car has just been serviced. A C16, UK-supplied, right-hand drive example benefitting from a recent body and mechanical restoration. First time on the market since 1989. Much of the Porsche 911's development had resulted from the factory's racing program and it was the period 'Group 4' homologation rules, which required 400 road cars to be built, that spurred the development of 'Project 930' - the legendary 911 Turbo. In production from April 1975, the Turbo married a KKK turbocharger to the 3-litre Carrera RSR engine in road trim - a combination that delivered 260bhp for a top speed of 155mph. In 1978, the Turbo's engine was enlarged to 3.3-litres, gaining an intercooler in the process, power increased to 300bhp and the top speed went up to 160mph.But the Turbo wasn't just about top speed, it was also the best equipped 911 and amazingly flexible, hence only four speeds in the gearbox, being capable of reaching 100mph from a standstill in a remarkable 14 seconds! The Turbo's characteristic flared wheel arches and 'tea tray' rear spoiler had already been seen on the Carrera model whilst the interior was the most luxurious yet seen in a 911, featuring leather upholstery, air conditioning and electric windows. More refined than hitherto, yet retaining its high performance edge, the Porsche 911 Turbo sold in the thousands, becoming the definitive sports car of its age.On offer here is a C16 UK-supplied right-hand drive 930 Turbo that’s being offered publicly for the first time since 1989. Finished in Guards Red with a black leather interior, the 911 has benefited from significant recent expenditure following a long period of being off the road in dry storage. The body and mechanicals have been comprehensively rebuilt or restored with invoices in the file amounting to over £50,000. The body was taken back to bare metal and superbly refinished in classic Guards Red, a painstaking process which in itself generated an invoice in excess of £25,000. The black leather interior had remained in excellent condition and was reused, a great choice when possible as an existing interior with negligible wear tends to fit and feel that much better without the inevitable stiffness of a brand new interior. A look at our images will illustrate the sheer quality of the work carried out and justify the significant investment with the car's history file containing all the relevant invoices. The indicated mileage at the time of cataloguing was 79,396 and the car is accompanied by its original Porsche book pack, three sets of keys, old MOTs and tax discs along with the aforementioned invoices for the recent restoration. The last stamp in the service book was placed there by Sam Lander Porsche Engineering in August 2024, however its immediate predecessor was way back in 1989 when the mileage was 71,895, meaning that this remarkable Turbo has only covered 7,500 miles in the past 35 years. This beautiful, classically presented 930 Turbo represents a wonderful opportunity to own a highly useable example of one of these iconic German coupés.NB; This vehicle will be issued with a fresh MOT prior to the sale.Specification Make: PORSCHE Model: 911 TURBO Year: 1980 Chassis Number: 93A0070336 Registration Number: PVL 253V Transmission: Manual Engine Number: 6700331 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Make: RHD Interior Colour: Black LeatherClick here for more details and images
An outstanding Land Rover Defender110 'Spectre' homage fresh from extensive rebuild. Built in the style that has become synonymous with James Bond and Spectre, spawning a variety of Defenders of differing specifications, with this particular example receiving the attention of Land Rover specialists, Bespoke Defenders in Harrogate, where a scheduled period of works has been completed bringing this 'Spectre'-inspired Defender back to the road. Now finished in a verdant shade of Lamborghini Green Metallic complemented by gloss black arches and bespoke wing tops covering the Spectre Beadlock wheels and tyres that, combined with the external roll cage, make any Defender of this type instantly recognisable. Internally, the once spartan interior is now adorned with bespoke leather trim throughout which is accentuated by a full Ebony Suede interior package, gloss black centre dash facia and colour coded seat belts all highlighted by the Billet Aluminium gear and vent knobs and other stainless steel accents. Clearly all this work would be of no benefit unless the Land Rover was mechanically enhanced, resulting in the TD5 power plant receiving a full engine refresh and remap with gasses exiting through a stainless steel exhaust system. Finally, to enhance the overall look, the running gear and suspension have been further developed to provide the lift required to accommodate those look-defining wheels and tyres. With minor use since completion, this particular 'Spectre' Homage presents superbly and is ready to turn heads out on the open road once again. Your early inspection is welcomed and encouraged to fully appreciate the in-depth build and quality of finish on this Bespoke Defender.Specification Make: LAND ROVER Model: DEFENDER 110 TD5 Year: 2005 Chassis Number: SALLDHF575A695900 Registration Number: AV55 LZO Transmission: Manual Engine Number: 15P09200B Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 100928 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: BlackClick here for more details and images
Offered without reserve from the Recreation Collection, this Aristocat was built and registered by Autotune in 2008, sporting a 2.5-litre Mk2 Jaguar engine and a Moss gearbox, substantial upgrades were made in 2013. . The Recreation Collection was assembled by a gentleman, now deceased, who had a passion for cars, owning at one stage some 38 vehicles. A particular enthusiasm of his was for replicas of the rarest and therefore most expensive examples. Judging by the receipts on file and the high prices paid in period, he could’ve bought at least one real example for the price he paid for the others! These are special cars and worthy of serious consideration, offered, tantalisingly as they are, without Reserve.Long before Aston Martin decided to recreate the original DB5 with the same gadgets found in James Bond’s BMT 216A or Jaguar Land Rover’s production of factory copies of the C and D-Type race cars, the Aristocat garnered respect in certain quarters. Engineered from the ground-up, the intention was to make an affordable recreation of the XK140 Coupé. Manufactured by Autotune in 2008 using the engine from Jaguar Mk 2 Saloon and a Moss gearbox, the Aristocat had a well-trimmed interior within a fibreglass shell fabricated and painted to the highest quality.Registered as an Autotune Aristocat on 1st July 2008, the car received substantial upgrades in 2013 that run to an exhaustive list but includes re-chromed bumpers and overiders, Motalita steering wheel, front and rear XK140 badges, headlamp bezels, the list goes on. Mechanically, the carbs were overhauled, as were the brakes, clutch and electrics, with further works listed in the history file.Presented to auction with its V5C, the aforementioned list of works, numerous receipts and brochures and an MOT Certificate valid until 22nd September 2025.It may be of interest that insurance documents found within the file valued this car at £40,000 in 2013.Specification Make: JAGUAR Model: MKII Year: 2008 Chassis Number: 50R0LYAT796CBT309 Registration Number: RYU 675 Transmission: Manual Engine Number: BH8928-8 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 83371 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: RedClick here for more details and images
Offered without Reserve from the Grand Tourers Collection, European supplied new and just 35,129 recorded kilometres. The Grand Tourers Collection was curated by a now deceased gentleman, who amassed some 38 cars at one stage. Each car stands on its own merits and represents an era of style roadsters and hand built coupes. Offered without Reserve, the cars are worthy of serious attention. The second generation of the SL series began with the 230 of 1963. Designed by Paul Bracq, its wonderfully crisp styling clothed a monocoque chassis equipped with all-round independent suspension, power-assisted disc/drum brakes, recirculating ball steering and a 2,306cc straight-six engine producing 150bhp and 145lbs/ft of torque mated to either a 4-speed manual or automatic transmission. The car was an international hit for Mercedes-Benz throughout the 1960s and has remained hugely popular amongst film stars, musicians and enthusiasts ever since. The 230 SL Pagoda we have on offer here is a lovely honest example, just the way we enthusiasts love to see them, full of character and a charm that no restoration can ever replicate. Supplied in left-hand drive for the European market with an automatic gearbox and built mid-way through the 230 SL production as car number 10,832 of 19,832 examples, on the 1st January 1966. A simply superb UK/RHD 930 LE, the highly sought after 'ultimate 930' model; 'Colour to Sample' paintwork and interior, just 20,000 miles, extensive service history and in outstanding condition. First launched at the 1973 Paris Auto Show with production commencing in 1975, the Porsche 911 (930) Turbo was a genuine Supercar which defined both the 1970s and 1980s and was one of the fastest production cars available at that time. The basic engine underpinnings came from the Carrera 2.7RS which was increased to 3-litres (eventually 3.3-litres) and of course, turbocharged with technology gleaned from Porsche's 917/30 Can-Am programme. The brakes were also derived directly from the 917. The bodywork received special treatment resulting in one of the most aggressive looking Porsches ever made with its wide arches and impressive rear 'Tea-tray' spoiler. In 1989, before production of the 911 (930) Turbo was discontinued, Porsche marked the occasion by creating a very special, right-hand drive, limited edition 930 LE - the ultimate Turbo, produced as the last hurrah to a turbo charged era. Starting out as a standard 3.3-litre model, the cars were then sent to the exclusive team at Zuffenhausen who built each example by hand. With just 53 of these cars produced, one for each UK dealership in 1989, a host of bespoke no-cost options were offered including colour-coded wheels, top-tinted windscreen, a choice of colours for interior and exterior, rear-quarter air intake ducts, electric sunroof, heated multi-adjust electric seats, electric sunroof and gold ‘Turbo’ lettering stitched behind the seat. They also came fitted with leather throughout, extending over the seats, dash, centre console and door trims. Topped-off with a 3-spoke steering wheel with a special Porsche crest badge in gold, a feature which is echoed on top of the gear knob, plus a gold plaque with '911 Turbo, 1975-1989 Limited Edition Model' engraving - as recognition of the LE's place in Porsche 911 history.Further features include electrically adjustable Sports seats with heating, electric tilt and slide sunroof, climate control, Becker Mexico radio/CD, rear wiper, and a 180mph speedometer. On the outside, the LE cars are visually very striking with the poster pin-up wide bodywork and big rear wing. The side intake strakes and deep front spoiler (with additional oil cooler) follow the styling of the low-build (Flachbau) SE model. Similarly, the LE utilises the 330bhp 3.3-litre engine of the SE, hence a larger turbo charger, higher lift camshafts, higher boost pressure, larger intercooler and quad exhaust system and the transmission is the G50 5-speed manual gearbox with short shift and the optional M220 limited-slip diff.At the time of production, Porsche had no plans to turbocharge the incoming 964, so it was believed that the LE would indeed be the final forced induction model to leave the Stuttgart factory. The price was an eye-watering £84,500, a full 50% more than the average house price at the time! The car presented here is one of those 53 examples, a 1989 Porsche 911 (930) LE which was delivered new via Porsche Centre JCT Brooklands, being first registered on 24th August 1989. Being such a ‘halo model’ for the marque, this car went one stage further and was specified with ‘Colour to Sample’ paintwork (in this case Gletscherblau Metallic) and interior which, according to Porsche, means ‘an exclusive option that opens up a virtually limitless palette of colours for your Porsche’Being an LE, the car’s Optional Equipment list runs to over 20 items – Porsche literally gave an LE the 'works' (see the attached image of the Porsche COE for the full list), the highlights being: the now iconic LE rear intake ducts, an additional oil cooler, modified engine 930/66, limited-slip differential, and sports seats. This exceptional Porsche has only covered 19,992 miles from new, verified by the car’s accompanying original servicing booklet, routinely carried out (with corresponding stamps) up to 18,537 miles and by numerous old MOT Certificates. In 2012/13 the car (then with 19,629 miles) was sold by Border Reivers, the UK’s largest supplier of classic Porsches and Scotland’s oldest independent classic Porsche dealer. It has since formed part of a significant Collection of very special cars, sharing a professional storage facility with the great and the good. A change of circumstances now mean that this highly rated Porsche is available once again. In preparation for sale, a comprehensive recommissioning service was lavished on the car, costing some £5,600.Iconic Auctioneers (formerly Silverstone Auctions) have been privileged to offer and sell a few 930 LE examples over the years - the last one, with 25,000 miles, achieved £240,000 - but you can see why – all the ingredients are there. This rare Turbo LE was the culmination of the 930 Turbo's 14 years of production and as a result, is probably the best developed iteration of this model, making it highly collectible today. This is one of the best Turbo LEs we’ve had the pleasure of offering and we urge you to come and see the car in the metal.Specification Make: PORSCHE Model: 911 930 TURBO LE Year: 1989 Chassis Number: WP0ZZZ93ZKS000826 Registration Number: G142 JUA Transmission: Manual Engine Number: 67K00959 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 19977 Miles Make: RHDClick here for more details and images
**Please note that the replacement drivers window has now been sourced and fitted to the car.**Offered without Reserve from the Recreation Collection, UK-registered, this fabulous tribute has many period details. These are special cars and worthy of serious consideration, offered, tantalisingly as they are, without Reserve. This superb recreation of a Mercedes-Benz 300SL Roadster was purchased, together with a replica 300SL Gullwing from Germany in 2020 for a combined sterling equivalent of £305,000 and was UK-registered on 1st July 2020. Based upon a German-supplied 1999 Mercedes-Benz SLK 230, the car has been fitted with a fibreglass body that mimics the original 300SL Roadster nicely. That is to say, it sits very well and definitely shares the same presence, aided of course by those impressive elongated headlamps mounted in front of the imposing bonnet, whilst the curvaceous rear sweeps down to chrome over-riders.Powered by the SLK’s 2.3-litre supercharged Kompressor engine, it starts and runs with far less fuss than the car it replicates, whilst period correct details such as the recessed door handles offer a good first impression. The dashboard has some lovely chrome highlights whilst the steering wheel is as beautiful in its simplicity as the original. The interior is neatly trimmed and the black mohair hood retracts with ease, stowed neatly in the beautifully engineered rear compartment. We must note, however, that the driver’s window was damaged during transit, a remnant of which remains, that contains stickered serial numbers. Sourcing a replacement in time for the auction has proven difficult and it will be the buyer’s responsibility, should the intention that the car be driven with both windows up, to source a replacement if desired. The base SLK’s original odometer reading is still present and read 134,378km at the time of cataloguing. The rarest Production Porsche. One of 13 made worldwide, one of two in right-hand drive and the only right-hand drive car in the UK. On offer here is quite simply the rarest production Porsche ever built and is a unique opportunity in this country. This 911 Club Coupé is one of just 13 cars built, one of two right-hand drive examples and the only car to be delivered to the UK (the other right-hand drive car went to Hong Kong). The Club Coupé is a unique model created to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the first Porsche Club. The first club specifically for Porsche owners was originally known as the Westfalischer Porsche Club Hohensyburg and was set up in May 1952, just four years after the first 356 rolled off the production line, by a group of enthusiasts. There were 13 original members and consequently it seemed appropriate to build the same number of cars out of respect to those early owners who were so excited about their new cars that they got together to share their enthusiasm, little knowing what they had started.Of the 13 cars, only 12 were available for sale as Porsche themselves decided to keep one to be displayed at the Porsche Museum. Porsche regularly display their own example and it was recently presented at the launch of the 992.2 in Spain.Revered by Porsche collectors, over 50% have been retained by their original owners and Porsche have run rallies specifically for those select few owners. A film on YouTube, 'Rallye 911 Club Coupe La passion continue', will show what lies ahead for the purchaser. To make the ordering process for the remaining 12 a little fairer, the company ran a lottery system, which was opened on 16th June 2012, with each of the 12 lucky winners having their name engraved on a switch-panel trim strip. They were handed over at a dinner in Stuttgart hosted by Wolfgang Porsche. The Museum printed a limited run of 250 books dedicated to the story and documenting the build process, a copy of which will accompany the car.The stunning paint finish was described as Brewster Green and the vendor later ordered a new 911GTS to match for daily use. When parked next to each other, it was clear that the Club Coupé was a completely different colour. Further research with the Factory revealed that it was known internally as 'Family Green', a colour reserved exclusively for Porsche family members and as worn by Wolfgang Porsche's personal 993 Turbo S which is displayed at the Porsche Museum. A shade not offered nor available anywhere else adding to the car’s unrepeatable exclusivityMileage at the time of cataloguing was 7,918 in the hands of its three previous owners and the car has been well maintained by Porsche main dealers in recent years as you might expect with such a special 911. Saleroom notice - please note the correct chassis number for this vehicle is WP022299ZW5603166 A beautiful example of an early 996 C2 Coupé that's patently been fastidiously maintained and well cared for, offered without Reserve. '996' is the internal designation for the Porsche 911 model manufactured and sold between 1998 and 2005 and its arrival in early 1998 was not without controversy. It was water-cooled, the most significant change to the 911 since its 1963 introduction, a change forced upon Porsche by progressively stringent noise regulations, environmental concerns, a higher expectation for refinement and a high-performance, four-valve per cylinder engine that needed to be properly cooled. Other changes included a sleeker body with a more steeply raked windshield and a redesigned interior. The performance characteristics remained superb and in fact, looking back, the pre-facelift 996 was the lightest of all water-cooled 911 variants including the 996 GT3 which weighed 35kg more. Its 3.4-litre, 300bhp flat-six was mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and the two-wheel drive C2 is widely considered to be the purest 996.This beautiful, rear-wheel drive, first generation 996 Carrera C2 was supplied new by Isaac Agnew Ltd, finished in Arctic Silver Metallic with full black leather and optioned with 18" technology wheels, a sound system and CD storage. It was purchased by our vendor in 2004 having had two previous owners and appears to have always ben cared for judging by the full history in the service records. Recent entries include a service by Porsche Brooklands in September last year @ £1,800. Porsche Brooklands 2022 @ £1,800, Porsche Guildford 2021 @ £800, Porsche Guildford 2019 @ £2,770, Porsche Guildford 2018 @ £1,000, Porsche Guildford 2017 @ £2,070 and Porsche Guildford 2016 @ £1,260. The indicated mileage at the time of photography was 113,541 and the car is accompanied by older MOTs back to 2005, its Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, the original Porsche book pack and two keys. **Saleroom Notice** There are now some more details on the website regarding the car’s chassis/engine numbers and its 2017 restoration; the car was previously sold by Bonhams in 2016 and is not UK-registered. It will require NOVA paperwork to be completed Small size, big character; a brightly hued example in which to enjoy a little 'la dolce vita'. Offered without Reserve. Apart from a Ferrari, no car is more recognisable as classically Italian than the FIAT 500. Replacement for FIAT's much-loved 500 'Topolino', the ‘Nuova’ 500 debuted in 1957. A radical departure from its predecessor's essentially pre-war design, FIAT's new baby featured unitary construction, an opening fabric roof and all-independent suspension while carrying its engine at the rear. The 479cc power unit was an air-cooled, overhead-valve twin and the gearbox a four-speeder.The austerity of the basic 500, known as the 'Economica', was not well received initially, prompting the swift introduction of a revised and better-equipped model which first appeared towards the end of 1957 at the Turin Show. Refinements incorporated in this less spartan version included wind-down windows, an upholstered rear seat, column-mounted switch-gear stalks, and hubcaps. Introduced in 1960, the succeeding 500D used the 499.5cc engine of the 500 Sport in de-tuned form whilst, in 1965, that was superseded by the 500F, the latter's altered bodywork incorporating front-hinged doors and a shortened sunroof, whilst mechanical improvements included a strengthened transmission. Maximum power increased to 22bhp and the top speed to within a whisker of 60mph. An immense success for FIAT, almost 3,000,000 of these adorable little cars had been sold when production ceased in 1975. The 500 remains as popular today as it ever was, and only a few years ago was voted 'Sexiest Car' by the readers of Top Gear magazine. The car presented here is a 1965 FIAT 500F, arguably the pick of that year/model with the body-coloured dashboard, round binnacle, older-style (more charming) steering wheel, and not encumbered with the ‘heavy’ bumper over-riders found on the Lusso model. Originally registered in Palermo, Italy and as such, is currently unregistered in the UK as it has only been used here to ‘run around’ a private estate. According to our vendor, the story goes that the car was originally purchased new, in 1965, by a FIAT employee for his mother; she sadly passed away just two months later and the son kept the car at his home and cherished it in her memory. The little 500 was only used for a few months over the course of the next 50 years, but kept serviced and in running order. The indicated mileage is just 18,596.In 2017, the car benefitted from work done by FIAT specialists R Proietti Ltd of London, being bodily, electronically and mechanically fully restored to excellent working order and subsequently additional work has been carried out by FIAT restoration specialists ‘Bella 500’ of Yorkshire. This super little 500 presents in fantastic, restored condition but is believed to be a genuine very low-mileage example. With just a single owner in Italy before its arrival in the UK, this car would happily grace any Collection, however its sheer mechanical fitness means it deserves to be road-registered and fully enjoyed and shown off to admirers, no other car raises as many smiles. Not to be missed, this really is a special classic 500.SpecificationMake: FIATModel: 500FYear: 1965Chassis Number: TBARegistration Number: NOVATransmission: Manual Engine Number: TBCDrive Side: Left-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 18596 KMMake: LHDClick here for more details and images
On the verge of modern classic status, this rare sporting Coupé is well optioned for the sporting commuter and engineered for the enthusiast. Offered without reserve. Launched within a rather niche mid-range sporting coupe market in 2005, the E86 BMW Z4 Coupé may have had the pedigree to see off the Japanese competition and offered more practicality and crucially, sharper styling than its closest rival, the Audi TT, still remained a rare car on British roads. The two-door design incorporated a useful hatchback into the boot and added torsional rigidity, benefiting both handling and ride. The double-bubble roof also gave more headroom than a Z4 Roadster with the roof up, making the Coupé the car of choice for keen and/or tall drivers. A 3-litre petrol engine came with the option of a 5 or 6-speed manual gearbox, a 5-speed automatic or 6-speed SMG-II automated manual. The Z4 Coupe’s rear-wheel drive chassis was suspended by Macpherson struts on the front and multi-link suspension on the rear, which meant the Z4's handling was exceptional, something weight-saving measures such as aluminium bonnet and suspension components contribute to. The Z4M aside, the Coupé's 3-litre, straight-six, 265bhp, 232lb/ft engine produced enough thrust to see it pass 62mph in 5.6 seconds on its way to a top speed of 155mph.Priced at the upper end of the Noughties sporting coupé market, most buyers opted for the M model or the roadster version, usually in conversative colours, which leads us nicely to this rare 6-speed manual 3.0Si Sport Coupé, finished in Phoenix Yellow, with a two-tone Sport interior, 3-spoke M-Sport steering wheel and very well optioned from new.Offered without Reserve, it is the ideal modern classic for a spirited daily commute with automatic headlights, rain sensing wipers, heated memory seats and air conditioning or for joy filled B-road weekend motoring thanks to the gearbox’s sport button.Presented to auction with an advisory free MOT certificate valid until 29th September 2025, two keys, the stamped service book and an odometer reading of 95,088 at the time of cataloguing. Serviced by Lancaster BMW of Milton Keynes less than 10,000 miles ago, this car has a certain look about it, sitting four-square, as it does on 10-spoke twin-blade alloy wheels, with the rather funky paintwork for its era setting it apart.Specification Make: BMW Model: Z4 COUPÉ E86 Year: 2008 Chassis Number: WBADU52010LF68904 Registration Number: YA57 ARO Transmission: Manual Engine Number: 74153857 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 95088 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: Black LeatherClick here for more details and images
Interesting 2015 Mustang 5.0 V8 GT, just 6,473 miles indicated, with a desirable manual gearbox, and imported and first registered in the UK by TVR Manufacturing Limited. Ford's international ambitions for their new Mustang became obvious when the sixth-generation of the venerable 'Pony' car (internal project code name; S-550) was unveiled simultaneously on 5th December 2013, in Dearborn, Michigan, New York, Los Angeles, Barcelona, Shanghai, and Sydney. Three engine options were available: a newly developed 2.3-litre EcoBoost with 310bhp, a 3.7-litre 300bhp V6, or the 5.0-litre Coyote 435bhp V8 with either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. A new independent rear suspension system was developed specifically for the new model which also became the first factory version designed as a right-hand drive export model to be sold overseas through Ford new car dealerships in right-hand drive markets. This desirable, left-hand drive, manual gearbox, 2015 Mustang 5.0 V8 GT has covered just 6,473 miles to date and was first registered in the UK on 19th June 2015 by TVR Manufacturing Limited. The car is accompanied by its original V5C declaring the first registered owner to be TVR Manufacturing Limited, various items of correspondence and import documents with TVR Manufacturing Limited named, plus a shipping note which names Jack Demmer (Ford, US Michigan) - TVR Manufacturing Limited and listing this car "1 NA 2015 Ford Mustang VIN: 1FA6P8CF6F5321840 (for test and development purpose)". After a little investigation it appears that after the long established but, at the time, shelved TVR brand had finally been bought back by a group of business minded car enthusiasts keen to revive the once glorious TVR name, they set about designing a car that would not only start a new chapter in the brand's history, but also ensure its longevity to hopefully compete with all the other top supercar manufacturers going forward. With this in mind, and a decent budget, they hired one of the world's greatest race and road-car designers, the legendary Gordon Murray, to assist. A design concept was agreed and a new car penned but, as part of the development of the new car, TVR needed a 'test mule' to develop their ECU settings along with a myriad of other electrical necessities. The engine selected for the new car was the same as in the newly-released Ford Mustang so, a brand new V8-engined Mustang was ordered from Ford, imported to the UK, and allocated to Murray to use for development. LJ15 SXX is that car and one or two unique features, including the emergency power cut red button in the cabin, are still evident. Our vendor has owned the car for 12 months and the V5 shows two former registered keepers including TVR. There is MOT history online back to 2018 with 3,295 miles indicated and the current MOT (no advisories) is valid until August 2025. Sensibly estimated, this could be an interesting car for any TVR aficionado or maybe you don't care for its TVR past and just fancy a serious bit of kit, with low indicated miles and a desirable manual gearbox. We would recommend that any potential bidders come along to our NEC Classic Motor Show Sale and have look at this fascinating car and accompanying paperwork and make up their own mind. Offered from the Property of a Gentleman Collection, an incredibly rare example of the Aston Martin V8 with just 608 kilometres from new. The unique V8 Vantage offered here is one of a series of seven commissioned from Aston Martin by a VIP customer and known as the 'V8 Racing Collection', each of which features unique livery and sill plates engraved 'V8 Vantage Race Collection 007 of 007'. This car carries the livery known as 'Elwood Blue', which is inspired by Aston Martin's bright blue Nürburgring 24h race car. The Vantage in both V8 and V12 format competed in numerous 24h races at the iconic German circuit.Introduced for the 2006 model year, Aston Martin's V8 Vantage Coupé was launched at the 2005 Geneva Motor Show, a convertible Roadster following later that year. Although it resurrected a famous model designation from the Company's past, the latest Vantage was all-new, featuring a 4.3-litre quad-cam V8 engine loosely patterned on Jaguar's 'AJ' unit and equipped in its Aston guise with dry-sump lubrication. The latter enabled the engine to be mounted low in the bonded aluminium body/chassis for better handling, while the use of a rear transaxle resulted in near-perfect 49/51 front/rear weight distribution. The Vantage was manufactured at Aston Martin's Headquarters at Gaydon, Warwickshire, a facility that combines the firm's renowned hand-crafted bespoke capabilities with the technology required to manufacture the bonded aluminium body/chassis structure. Exquisitely designed and detailed while possessing class-leading agility and performance, the Vantage was nevertheless a practical two-seater with a large tailgate providing access to the 300-litre rear luggage compartment. The Vantage also benefited from numerous passive and active safety systems. In May 2008, Aston Martin introduced numerous updates for the Vantage, the most significant being an extensively revised engine of 4.7-litres capacity producing 420bhp and 347lb/ft of torque (a 15% increase). There was also new software for the 'Sportshift' automated manual transmission and stiffened suspension featuring Bilstein dampers. New styles of wheels were also part of the update. Thanks to the increased power and torque there was a welcome boost in performance, the 0-60mph (97km/h) time dropping to 4.7 seconds and the top speed increasing to 180mph (290km/h).Built to Swiss specifications, this car boasts numerous special features in addition to the generous inventory of standard equipment. Option highlights include the following: special Elwood Blue paintwork, maximum leather interior trim, Gunmetal facia trim, Obsidian Black steering wheel, cruise control, memory seats and mirrors, red brake callipers, front parking sensors, Sports Pack, Aston Martin 700W Premium Audio, heated front seats, satellite navigation, voice activated Bluetooth telephone, and auto-dimming interior mirror.Kept on static display as part of a private Cllection, the Vantage benefits from recommissioning by Stratton Motor Company last year. Presented with just 608km the hammer price is clear of all VAT, yet reclaimable should the car be exported or bought by a company, and the buyer should be aware they must register the car themselves with the DVLA should the car remain in the UK.Specification Make: ASTON MARTIN Model: V8 VANTAGE Year: 2011 Chassis Number: SCFEFBAC2AGC14185 Registration Number: NOT UK-REGISTERED Transmission: Automatic Drive Side: Left-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 608 KM Make: LHD Interior Colour: Blue LeatherClick here for more details and images
Fully 're-imagined' by Porsche Central Operations as part of a national dealership competition in 2014, this glorious, Viper Green, 911 has been further developed and enhanced by Porsche Central Operations and Northampton Motorsport. Designed and built by Porsche Central Operations in 2014, this remarkable 911 was completed as a one-off project to compete amongst all other Porsche Centres as part of their "50 years of the 911" restoration competition. The brief from Porsche Central Operations in Reading was to create a no-expense-spared car, that not only utilised all of their resources, but demonstrated their restoration ability to a global audience.Chassis number 9117301478 was originally built on 5th January 1977 and first registered on 7th February that year. It was fitted with a 2.7-litre engine developing 167bhp and had been enjoyed by five previous owners. In 2006, the car was taken off the road and stored in largely original condition by the Porsche Centre Guildford prior to making its way to Porsche HQ in Reading in early 2014.The car was stripped to a bare shell and prepared for a complete nut and bolt rebuild. At this point, the decision was taken that all components on the completed car should reflect the very best of 50 years of 911 development and evolution. Whilst the shell was being stripped, sandblasted, repaired and readied for paint, some key project decisions took place. The completed car would be finished in Viper Green, a colour that epitomised the seventies era. The wiring would be replaced with modern electronic systems and the suspension would be to a full RS specification all round. The front brakes would come from a 930 3.3 Turbo, the rears from a 3.2 Carrera and the cockpit would boast a brake balance control switch. The gearbox was to be rebuilt with strengthened main bearings. The exhaust system would ideally be loud but not insufferable on the road, and on a standard set up should retain a purposeful but not excessive growl, however, the system should also be adjustable to a full straight through race mode, whenever appropriate. The engine decision was to remove the original 2.7 unit and replace with a development 993 powerplant from the Porsche Technical Department. This was stripped, and nut and bolt rebuilt with "Cup" cams and a Wolf engine management system. We understand that Porsche confirmed at the time that "the engine has been dyno-tested at just over 300bhp, and the power-to-weight ratio is equivalent to a race specification 1974 Porsche RSR." They also confirmed that "we feel this bespoke 911 represents the ultimate reincarnation of the 911 RS concept. It has been built by some of the finest Porsche technicians in the business and the number of hours spent on this vehicle can not even be calculated".Iconic Auctioneers (Silverstone Auctions at the time) were lucky enough to be asked to handle the sale of this fabulous 911 back in 2015 and it was purchased by its current owner, our knowledgeable vendor and Porsche collector. He has used it lightly but has derived most of his pleasure from the car by commissioning Porsche Reading to further develop it, money no object, in the spirit of the 2014 build. They have added to the car's potency with an RSR 5-speed race gearbox with short-shifter, limited-slip differential and race clutch, all of which guarantee a bulletproof drivetrain. The Wolf ECU has been upgraded to a Life Racing Engine Management system by specialist Northampton Motorsport, taking power output up to 320bhp.This also required a new loom. The engine and gearbox oil cooling systems have been revised, corner weights and four-wheel geometry set up and the bright green instrument back plates were changed for a more conventional black (but the old green ones are included). Our vendor has cared for the car for nearly a decade with a thick invoice file attesting to maintenance regardless of cost, with upgrades and maintenance of approximately £45,000, however, the time has come to 'shuffle' his Collection and this remarkable Viper Green is being offered at our forthcoming NEC Auction. A true 'race car for the road' with the look and sound of the ultimate air-cooled 911. Neunelfers, form an orderly queue. The first production example of Aston's newly introduced V8 Vantage AMR model, #001 of just 200 is a manual gearbox car and has covered just 586 miles with its only owner. The Vantage name has long been synonymous with more extreme performance Aston Martins since the 1950s, so it’s entirely appropriate that the Vantage AMR was the first series production derivative of Aston Martin’s new race-inspired performance range. Introduced at the Geneva Motor Show in 2017, AMR amplified and accentuated the sporting prowess of the British marque’s road cars, by taking inspiration or direct influence from Aston Martin Racing’s participation in the FIA World Endurance Championship.Launched to coincide with the 2017 Le Mans 24 Hours, where propitiously Aston Martin Racing secured victory in the GTE Class, AML unveiled what became the final production derivative of the VH2 V8 Vantage, the 'V8 Vantage AMR'. It was powered by a 430bhp, normally-aspirated, 4,735cc V8 engine and was available with either the Sportshift III or 6-speed manual transmission. Production of the V8 Vantage AMR coupe and Roadster began in the final quarter of 2017 and was limited to just 200 examples (300 if you include the 100 V12 Vantage AMRs). This example is #001 of the 200 UK right-hand drive V8 AMR coupés built and one of just 38 with the manual gearbox.Vantage AMRs were available in four bespoke exterior schemes and in addition the AMR ‘Halo Pack’ took direct inspiration from Aston Martin Racing’s 2016 World Endurance Championship-winning #95 Vantage GTE, working a combination of Stirling Green paint and vivid Lime Green accents to dramatic effect. As a finishing touch, a special Union Jack enamelled AML wings badge, previously featured on the GTE racer, was available as a no-cost option. This spectacular collectors example, supplied by Aston Martin of Hatfield, is indeed finished in Stirling Green with Lime Green accents over a fabulous tan leather and Black Alcantara interior. Although well specified, it's also been optioned with an Alcantara steering wheel, Carbon Fibre Aerokit, side strakes and rear bumper and fitted with an £8,000 full titanium bespoke exhaust system which sounds epic. There is a set of bespoke luggage, finished in matching black and tan, which we understand has never been used. Having been owned by its one and only keeper and showing just over 580 miles, the AMR has been maintained by Aston directly, was serviced earlier this year and is therefore ready to go to its second home. It's supplied with the dealer book pack containing the official handbook and stamped service book along with some invoices. To make an already special car even more special, the engine-bay struts have been signed by the Le Mans GTE Class-winning drivers from 2017, Darren Turner and Jonathon Adam, who also donated a framed celebration shirt signed by them. From single ownership and just 586 miles from new, #001 is undoubtedly a very desirable motor car and would grace any Collection of significant Astons.Specification Make: ASTON MARTIN Model: VANTAGE AMR Year: 2017 Chassis Number: SCFEABDL8JGC21684 Registration Number: UK08 AMR Transmission: Manual Engine Number: AM5/23837 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 586 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: Black and TanClick here for more details and images
Offered from the Property of a Gentleman Collection, a fully restored example of the glorious Escort MkII RS2000 Custom and offering incredible value at this estimate. It was back in 1970 that Ford introduced their Rally Sport models - the RS range. Originally designed as a way of building limited numbers of homologation specials for serious competition use, it soon grew into a major marketing opportunity and one that Ford grabbed with both hands. By 1976, when the RS2000 Mk2 was launched, the term 'RS' had grown to mean something a bit special.Unlike the Mk1 Escort which was designed by Ford of Great Britain, the Mk2 was a much more sophisticated design that was jointly developed with Ford of Germany. Based on a standard Mk2 two-door saloon shell, the RS2000 used the familiar 2-litre, inline four-cylinder, SOHC Pinto engine mounted longitudinally in the bay driving the rear wheels. A single, twin-venturi 32/36 DGAV Weber carburettor was fitted with the option of a 'Group 1' dual Weber 40DCNF or IDF set up. The front suspension used independent MacPherson struts with an anti-roll bar and, at the rear, traditional leaf springs with telescopic dampers were utilised. Front-mounted discs and rear drums were used and 4-spoke alloy wheels came as standard. Its biggest distinguishing feature was a 'droop snoot' polyurethane nose housing four headlamps which gave it a rather aggressive look. The new car was capable of 110mph with 0-60mph taking 8.9 seconds, not too shabby in 1976 and which, combined with the car's distinctive looks and that shiny RS badge, set Ford's showroom doors swinging. In late 1978, the Custom Pack became an option and included Fishnet Recaro seats, full door cards, clock and pod centre console, 6J x 13" alloys, boot carpet, remote drivers door mirror and the back panel around the rear lights was painted black. This absolutely superb example of this highly sought after British classic was first registered on 8th December 1977. Finished in Midnight Blue with a black interior this RS2000 Custom has been fully restored, which appears to have been completed to a very high standard, in 2021. This matching numbers Ford has only covered some 300 miles since restoration and therefore needs to be handled with care over the short term as everything is still tight on the vehicle. An exceptional example offered from long term ownership, with matching hardtop and just 12,529 miles from new. Penned by Henrik Fisker, the BMW Z8 was initially a concept styling exercise to evoke and pay homage to the stunning BMW 507 produced in the late 1950s. Due to the sensation it caused at the 1997 Tokyo Auto Show, BMW decided to go into production and production ran from 1999 to 2003 for a total run of 5,703 cars with approximately half going to the USA, the rest to continental Europe and fewer than 150 cars supplied to the UK.An engineering indulgence by BMW, it featured an aluminium space frame body and the famous 5-litre DOHC 32-valve V8 engine produced 400bhp, situated behind the line of the front axle, giving the Z8 virtually perfect 50/50 weight distribution and enabling it to out-perform its contemporary benchmark rivals in all departments. The contemporaneous Ferrari 360 Modena was left inadequate in terms of performance, handling and braking. Road tests by period magazines frequently better the quoted 0-60mph times supplied by BMW and many achieved figures of c.four seconds. Most remarkable was its pure driving pleasure and its effortless 'Grand Tourer' capabilities. BMW's mantra of 'The Ultimate Driving Machine' was certainly appropriate when it came to the Z8.Having been a mainstay of the Bond series for four decades, Desmond Llewelyn retired as 'Q' in the 1999 film The World is Not Enough where, in his poignant final scene, he issued Piers Brosnan’s James Bond with a BMW Z8. Whilst entering the James Bond Car Hall of Fame, helped somewhat with filling the order books, it's universally agreed that it is the Z8’s capability as a modern supercar that was responsible for its success. Delivered only in left-hand drive, fewer than 150 cars were supplied new to the UK.The Rydale/Rybrook name has been associated as a family business with strong BMW connections from 1972 until 2024 and over the years, the company has continually expanded through various Midlands-based franchise dealerships, including Oldbury, Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, Shrewsbury, Evesham, Wolverhampton and Warwick. This year, the company was sold and is now owned by the Sytner Group under the chairmanship of American petrolhead, Roger Penske. This BMW Z8 was acquired in 2005 by the dealership group as a significant and interesting milestone in the development of BMW. Its unique design and features as an early convertible BMW high-performance sports car, including the combination of the incredible engine from the M5, coupled to a 6-speed manual gearbox, made this rare and exciting car an icon of the marque. Its looks evolved from the BMW 503/507 Series of the 1950s which, when finished in the classic colour combination of Titanium Silver with red leather upholstery, evoke a period style that set the trend for many future BMW sports cars to follow. It has been used for showroom display and occasional exhibitions and parades, enjoying a cosseted indoor life with annual maintenance and MOTs carried out and a minimal annual mileage covered. The total indicated mileage at time of cataloguing of 12,529 today can be warranted by the MOT and service history. Fully recommissioned and beautifully presented, this stylish 308 GT4 is on offer directly from Chris Rea's private Collection. Introduced at the 1973 Paris Motor Show, the Dino 308 GT4 was a significant departure for Ferrari in several ways. It was the first production car from Modena to feature a mid-engined V8, a layout that would become common to their core range for decades to come, along with the first production model to feature Bertone styling rather than Pininfarina bodywork. The chassis was based on the Dino 246 but was stretched to make space for a 2+2 configuration and the 3-litre V8 was integrally joined with the gearbox and featured an alloy block and heads with dual overhead camshafts fed through four Weber 40 DCNF carburettors. The styling was controversial at the time, with some journalists comparing it to the Bertone-designed Lancia Stratos and Lamborghini Urraco and the proportions gave traditionalists an attack of the vapours but, as is often the way, Bertone's styling effort probably looks better now than it ever has. For all this, the car was a huge success, being bigger and more usable than any other mid-engine car had managed or would manage for a while. More than 3,600 were sold, dwarfing sales of V12 models and showing Ferrari the way forward. Today, these 1970s Ferraris have come of age with their classic looks and brilliant handling and are as fast as you are ever going to need in the real world, with a top speed of over 150mph and 0-60mph in 6.4 seconds.Chris Rea, the singer, songwriter and musician, has an enduring passion for Ferrari with many finding their way through his hands over the years, however one particular model has been a constant within his stable, that being the Dino GT4 appearing in many guises, from out and out race versions which have been spiritedly campaigned by him over the years through to superb road-going examples such as this particular steed, the latest to have received the 'Rea touch'. Purchased some years ago in need of a little TLC, the decision was taken to entrust Ferrari specialists, QV of London, with whom Chris has a longstanding relationship, to fully recommission his latest acquisition to ensure longevity and reliability wherever possible. As is often the case, the timescale to complete the restoration became elongated as the list of desired works steadily increased, resulting in the bodywork being refinished, the engine being fully rebuilt and enhanced, the interior being completely refreshed and the running gear totally overhauled. Looking deeper into the schedule of recommissioning and the associated invoices, it's noted that the engine now has fully balanced internals including the high-compression pistons and polished crank, the running gear was totally removed and stripped prior to being overhauled, re-bushed and powder coated as required but not before the decision was taken to fit uprated springs and dampers, new brake calipers - front and rear, stainless brake hoses, a new steering rack and much more. The 308 GT4 is one of the few small Ferraris that suit a two-tone colour scheme. Chris' own Ferrari Pirelli Challenge car was red and gold, but in this case he chose to finish it in (we understand) a very stylish Grigio Ferro over Blu Dino Scurro. The Bordeaux Red seating and carpets present beautifully and the refurbished Cromodora alloys are as you would expect from a quality recommission. Unusually, it's one of the very rare cars with 'factory' rear seats delete, which may seem strange as the GT4's raison d'etre was the extra seating, however luggage space in the 308 GT was minimal so as a 'touring' car it made sense. With the recent in-depth recommissioning, Ferrari aficionado ownership, celebrity provenance and magazine-featured, this is one GT4 that will enhance any Prancing Horse collection and is ready to be enjoyed as intended when it rolled off the production line almost 45 years ago. It should also be noted that so fresh is the build that a period of running in is still required. Your early inspection is welcomed and encouraged to fully appreciate the opportunity on offer.Specification Make: FERRARI Model: 308 GT4 Year: 1980 Chassis Number: 15468 Registration Number: TPO 1F Transmission: Manual Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 53000 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: BurgundyClick here for more details and images
Offered without Reserve from the Recreation Collection and built by the internationally recognised workshops of E.G. Autokraft using an XJ 5.3 V12 as the base car. These are special cars and worthy of serious consideration, offered, tantalisingly as they are, without Reserve.Only 122 Ferrari Daytona 365 GTS/4 Spyders were built originally and they very rarely come to market, but when they do the numbers are rather serious. Even recreations of this timeless classic are hard to come by. When the Florida-based TV police drama Miami Vice was broadcast in 1984, it featured a realistic replica Daytona.E.G. Autokraft/PKA/Arrow was the work of Emilio Garcia and Peter Jacobs. Emilio hailed from Spain where he achieved some success preparing race cars locally. He then came to the UK and worked in coachbuilding and restoration before moving on to race preparation for Bell and Colvill. He eventually opened his own workshop and worked on many prestigious cars including Ferraris. Obtaining spare parts for these was always difficult so he started to manufacture his own replica parts which inevitably led to the idea of producing a whole car, but what? Having helped lots of Ferrari owners 'convert' their beautiful Berlinettas into Spyders, he decided to create the best Daytona Spyder copy he could and he turned to Peter Jacobs to make the bodies. The outside of their project car was naturally going to be an inch-perfect copy of the Daytona Spyder, however the chassis had yet to be designed. They eventually settled on a multi-tubular framework similar to the original that was able to accept V12 or straight-six engines from Jaguar or Daimler. The floorplan was bonded to the chassis and the outer panels were originally available in GRP. Jaguar mechanicals, engine, gearbox, drive train, brakes and suspension were chosen as parts and service items were readily available. This car, like most of Autokraft’s recreations, started life as a 1975 Jaguar XJ 5.3 V12 Saloon, the fibreglass body and mohair hood carefully fitted. The interior is a charming mix of period leather, aluminium dashboard and original details with the Borg Warner automatic gear box from the Jaguar mounted centrally for comfortable cruising. The current odometer reading is 71,378 miles and the history file contains the V5C, numerous historical documentation, past bills and a fresh MOT will be issued for the sale.Specification Make: JAGUAR Model: XJ Year: 1975 Chassis Number: 2R3784BW Registration Number: NEW 924P Transmission: Automatic Engine Number: 7P.14191-SB Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 71378 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: Tan LeatherClick here for more details and images
Recently completed and fresh to market after a seven year labour of love by its Lancia aficionado owner. The legendary Lancia Stratos HF is the ultimate rally icon of the 'Group 4' era and changed the face of International Rallying as the first purpose-built rally car in an age of modified production cars. Rather than build the 1,000 units needed to qualify for 'Group 3' and only afterwards apply the allowable 'Group 4' modifications, Lancia committed to building the 500 examples required for 'Group 4' homologation as a thinly disguised rally car for the road.Designed by Marcello Gandini, the Stratos HF ('HF' for High Fidelity) was developed as a collaboration between Lancia and Bertone and was introduced in November 1971 at the Turin Motor Show. It was based around a central steel monocoque with steel front frame legs and box-section rear subframe, carrying lightweight glass fibre doors and hinged ‘clamshells’ at the front and rear. The car was powered by a mid-mounted transverse 2.4-litre Ferrari Dino V6 that Enzo Ferrari only reluctantly agreed to supply, fearing the new car would overshadow his own Dino 246.Stratos bodyshells were built by Bertone at its Grugliasco Works, and then shipped to Lancia for final assembly at Via San Paolo. Homologation for 'Group 4' required that 500 examples be built within a 24 month period but, in real terms, this did not require 500 finished cars, but rather enough chassis and components to complete that number. Production began on 1st July 1972 and only 183 examples were completed by the end of 1974, however the FIA determined that enough components and completed body shells existed to confirm 'Group 4' homologation on 1st October 1974. Body production and final assembly would continue through 1975 and although there is some uncertainty, the best estimate is that Lancia eventually completed 492 examples. The Stratos HF made its competition debut in November 1972 on the Tour de Corse running as a prototype and saw its first successes the following year, with wins on the Tour de France and the Firestone Rally, and a second place at the Targa Florio. With its diminutive size, extraordinary agility and powerful V6, the Stratos quickly established itself as a dominant force in rallying, winning the WRC three years in a row (1974–1976) and firmly established itself as a legend by continuing to win in private hands as late as 1981.This 1975 Lancia Stratos, Chassis #AR0001951, built to 'Group 4' specification, is offered fresh to market after a protracted build period with recent completion after what has been a seven year 'labour of love' by the present Lancia aficionado owner. Built around a reconstructed shell, manufactured by Marchesi Modena in 2017/ 2018 utilising genuine and period specific components being of the correct type and age where possible. The standard of finish is exceptional with a level of detail that is rarely achieved. The Marchesi produced shell has also been modified to 'Group 4' specification with an integral T45 roll cage and lowered floors to accommodate the taller pilot, even the front, rear and door clams have been sourced and supplied having being produced using the original Italian tooling. With extensive research being carried out over the years, it is clear to see the lengths to which our vendor went in order to present one of the finest Lancia Stratos to come to market in recent years.Motivation is provided by the fully rebuilt Ferrari 246 V6 power unit constructed around a cast-iron block, with Aluminium 'Group 4' heads sitting atop fully balanced internals and breathing through triple 44 IDF downdraft Weber carburettors. The engine is centrally and transversely mounted, providing drive through the 'Group 4' Lancia 5-speed 'dog box' with a dog-leg first gear through to the Schaublin fully rose-jointed rear end with independent McPherson Struts and 'Group 4' alloy hub carriers, all riding on period correct Magnesium Campagnolo- style wheels shod with the correct Pirelli P7 'Corsa' tyres. Retardation is accomplished through AP vented discs with 4-piston Monoblock aluminium calipers. We appreciate that anyone genuinely interested in this car will have lots of technical questions and we have pages and pages of component specification and build details available upon request. Every part of this build has been considered - the right people asked the right questions and the exact components sourced from wherever they could be found - which is why it took seven years. Our vendor was fastidious, possibly even a little obsessive, when it came to this project and that’s why we are keen that interested parties explore it a bit further to appreciate just how much thought and passion has been invested in this beautiful Stratos.Bringing #AR0001951 back to life has been a metamorphosis and we feel that it would be wonderful to see the car on a European rally stage or on the showground or anywhere really, enjoying the admiration always generated when people get a close look at one of these seldom seen WRC-winning rally cars from 50 years ago.Specification Make: LANCIA Model: STRATOS Year: 1975 Chassis Number: 829AR0001951 Registration Number: PAO 789P Transmission: Manual Engine Number: 0008764 Drive Side: Left-hand Drive Make: LHD Interior Colour: BlackClick here for more details and images
One of 100 made worldwide and one of only 28 UK-delivered, right-hand drive examples. Unveiled by Aston Martin in 2015 as 'the most potent and uncompromising Vantage to date' the Vantage GT12 was significantly re-engineered from a standard V12 S. 100kg was shed through the extensive use of carbon fibre body panels, bonnet, bumpers and front wings. With production limited to just 100 examples worldwide, of which 28 were UK right-hand drive, the new model incorporated much of what had been learned from their successful GT racing programme.Power from the 6-litre V12 was increased from 550 to 592bhp and the chassis updated including a wider track and large carbon-ceramic brake discs. The 7-speed sport-shift transmission was also updated for faster gear changes, while downforce to the rear wing, front splitter, rear diffuser and side skirts was increased by a factor of seven.Finished in China Grey with a Grey Blend Alcantara/Californian Poppy interior, this is one of only 28 UK-supplied, right-hand drive examples and had covered 10,579 miles at the time of cataloguing. The GT12 has formed part of our vendor's private Collection since 2019 and boasts a full Aston Martin service history with the most recent, a six year service, on 9th July 2024.The car was specified new with the following options: Alarm System: Alarm Upgrade Volumetric & Tilt Sensors Audio System: Aston Martin 700W Premium AudioBadge Bonnet/Decklid: Bright Chrome (Black Wings Infill)Brake Calipers: OrangeCentre Console: Satin CarbonFacia Trim (Trim Inlay): Facia Trim - Full Length Twill Carbon Front Badge: GT12 Bonnet LouvreFront Grille: CarbonGearbox Type: 7-Speed Sportshift IIIGraphics Pack: FullHandbook Language: EnglishHeadlamps: Black BezelIP Language: EnglishKeyfob Cover: Leather Ecu PouchPaddle shifts: Black Paddleshift - Match To Seat -StripeParcel Shelf: Fit Parcel ShelfParking Cameras: Reversing CameraQ Graphics Pack: Orange Q Graphics PackRear Quarter/Window: PolycarbonateRoof Panel: Carbon FibreSeat Belts: Warm CharcoalSeat Embroidery: Headrest Embroidery - Gt12 LogoSeat Type: Lightweight Manual SeatSeating Arrangement: 2 SeaterSpecial Feature: QBy Aston MartinSteering Wheel Type: Standard Steering WheelTail Lamps: Clear Rear LampsTailgate Finish: CarbonWheels: 7Sp Satin Black Magnesium Centre LockWindow Surround Finisher: Black Side Window FinisherWith limited production numbers, inspiration from the racing team, impressive performance and a soundtrack hard to match, this is a highly sought-after and collectable model and one that we highly recommend coming to see at the NEC.Our vendor has generously agreed to include the Cherished Registration number, GT12 VAN, as part of the sale.Specification Make: ASTON MARTIN Model: GT12 VANTAGE Year: 2015 Chassis Number: SCFGJBJY0GGS62373 Registration Number: GT12 VAN Transmission: Semi-Automatic Engine Number: AM57/43013 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 10579 Miles Make: RHDClick here for more details and images
Very well cared for Z4M Roadster in a striking colour combination with less than 15,000 miles from new. The BMW Z4 was introduced in 2002 and was styled by BMW's Danish designer Anders Warming. The car had its own distinctive appeal that helped it take on the Porsche Boxster directly, where the earlier Z3 had always trailed in the Porsche's wake. Thanks to a spread of engines and dose of practicality, the Z4 also managed to challenge the Mercedes SLK and Audi TT to be a very competent all-round Roadster. They were all fully built at BMW USA's South Carolina plant with the exception of the Z4M, launched in 2006, which was assembled in Carolina using engines and transmissions from BMW's 'M' Division in Germany. The essence of any 'M' car is always the powertrain really and the heart of the Z4M is the special grey cast iron block 3.2-litre straight-six (iron was used iron for extra rigidity at high rpm). Designated S54, it's the last in the M50 line of engines and benefited from all the latest technology, including individual 'fly by wire' throttle bodies and dual variable cam timing (VANOS in BMW-speak) which all helped it to pump out 338bhp at 7,900rpm and 269lb/ft of torque at 4,900rpm, with an 8,000rpm red line. All these 'Pferde' are directed towards the back wheels through a Getrag 'Type H' 6-speed. Engine management, however, is specific to the Z4M: the Siemens MSS70 with higher processing power (64 million calculations per second) than the MSS54 (25 million CPS) in the M3. Other performance parts borrowed from the M3 include the CSL's compound (aluminium hubs, stainless steel pins, cross drilled iron floating rotors) brakes and most of the M3's suspension components. Other changes include a hydraulic steering setup which provides better feel than the electric system in standard Z4 models. This fabulous 2009 Roadster was originally supplied by BMW (UK) Thorn in Yorkshire, finished in Black Sapphire Metallic with a striking Imola Red Nappa leather interior. It was later purchased in 2011 from Hereford BMW for £25,811 as an investment, however our vendor has sadly passed away with the car subsequently being offered to a family member who has no real interest in it, consequently this desirable Z4M is now available on the open market. It's accompanied by its original book pack containing the relevant service/ handbooks/ manuals etc. and the current MOT (no advisories) is valid until June 2025. There is one stamp in the book by Cotswold Hereford BMW (Sept 2017) at 11,416 miles and an invoice dated May 2022 for £701.61 for general works. The indicated mileage was 14,921 at the time of cataloguing and the car will be detailed professionally to a showroom standard ready prior to our sale and will benefit from a fresh oil service. This very low-mileage Z4M is certainly of collector quality and represents an excellent opportunity to own one of these underrated Z cars for a sensible outlay. **The vendor has offered to organise collection from the NEC and organise an MOT for the buyer at his expense post sale.** A UK-delivered example, comprehensively restored to a high standard and excitingly offered without Reserve. On offer here is a rare and desirable, UK-supplied, right-hand drive, three-door Land Cruiser VX Turbo that was first registered on 1st August 1992. Finished in Red Mica (code Toyota 3H4), this example has been subject to a comprehensive restoration to a very high standard that was recently finished in August 2024. The car enjoyed a full glass-out, trim-out respray along with the running gear being powder-coated and one glance at the engine bay will illustrate the quality of the work. It's powered by a four-cylinder 2.4-litre turbo diesel engine (2-LT) mated to a 5-speed manual transmission with high and low ratio four-wheel drive. The mileage at the time of cataloguing was 143,085 and the car is accompanied by its dealer book pack including the stamped service book along with old tax discs, V5 and MOTs.Excitingly offered without Reserve, this particular example really does need to be seen in the metal given the amount of recent investment and we welcome your inspection at the NEC.NB; This vehicle will be issued with a fresh MOT prior to the sale.SpecificationMake: TOYOTAModel: LAND CRUISERYear: 1992Chassis Number: JT1V0LJ7009058848Registration Number: K255 LTRTransmission: ManualEngine Number: 2L3035995 Drive Side: Right-hand DriveClick here for more details and images
One of only nine 2-litre Homologation Dinos believed to survive, this smart, fresh to market Coupé represents a rare opportunity. In the mid-1960s, Ferrari needed a 2-litre production-based engine for their new Formula 2 and conceived the mid-engined Dino 206 to provide the necessary basis. Since the late 1950s, Ferrari's V6-engined sports-racers had used the Dino name, after Enzo Ferrari's late son, Alfredino, who had died in 1956 and this was duly applied to the new road car. Indeed, at this time it was intended that it would be the first of an entirely separate marque. The new V6 power unit would prove as successful on the racetrack as in the showroom: Derek Bell and Ernesto Brambilla both winning races in the European Championship, while Andrea de Adamich triumphed in the 1968 Argentine Temporada series. However, faced with the daunting task of building 500 units per annum to meet the FIA's homologation requirements, Ferrari turned to FIAT for assistance, the resulting agreement for the latter to build the Dino's four-cam V6 engine leading to a spin-off model for FIAT. Launched in Pininfarina-bodied two-seater Spider form at the 1966 Turin Show, the FIAT Dino carried its 2-litre, 160bhp engine ahead of the driver in a conventional manner and was notable as the first FIAT to employ four overhead camshafts and a limited-slip differential as standard. Steel bodied, the newcomer employed a FIAT 5-speed gearbox and featured independent front suspension by means of wishbones and coil springs, a live rear axle, and disc brakes all round. A longer-wheelbase 2+2 Coupé model with Giorgetto Giugiaro-penned Bertone coachwork appeared the following year at the Geneva Salon and was much-acclaimed for its good looks and clever design.Finished in Rosso Corsa with a black interior, this Dino is fresh to market having been loved and cherished by the same family owners since 1976, some 48 years, a rare occurrence indeed. As an early 2-litre Coupé, this particular Grand Tourer is one of the original homologation examples and is one of only nine believed to survive today, suggesting that this could be the 'holy grail' of FIAT Dino ownership and would be extremely difficult to replicate should this opportunity be missed or passed by. Having been painted some years ago to an extremely high standard and with little use since, the overall condition remains outstanding throughout and comes highly recommended. We therefore welcome and encourage your early inspection to satisfy yourself as to the overall quality and opportunity that this rare, fresh to market FIAT provides.Specification Make: FIAT Model: DINO 2.0 Year: 1967 Chassis Number: 000210 Registration Number: AUB 852E Transmission: Manual Engine Number: 000210 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 85652 KM Make: RHD Interior Colour: BlackClick here for more details and images
Flagship model status, a 5.3-litre V12, understated old-school style and here in British Racing Green, with just 10,000 miles from new and in pristine condition. The Chairman of Jaguar at the time, ‘Lofty’ England, declared that the new V12 luxury saloon was to be baptized the Daimler Double-Six, and so it came to pass and a legend was born. The Series III, the final derivative of the Daimler Double-Six, arrived in 1979 and like its predecessors benefited from the clean-cut, new body designed by famed Italian design house, Pininfarina. The new design featured more glass, slightly squarer lines around the roof area and up to date front and rear styling. The Series III soldiered on until the late 1980s, outliving the XJ6, the departure of which was delayed by problems installing the engine in the new XJ40 series. This was the flagship car in the Jaguar/Daimler line and was produced until the very end of 1992. The term ‘XJ12’ is also inaccurate as this referred only to the base-trim model and the vast majority sold were the upscale V12 Sovereign or Double-Six models. It would be hard to imagine news footage of the 1980s and early 1990s without a member of the cabinet or the House of Windsor ascending elegantly out of a Double-Six. No other car of that period epitomised brisk luxury travel like a Daimler, and in such a truly understated British fashion. This car was not concerned with the pomp and showmanship of a Rolls Royce, it was a Daimler and it meant business. The export market adored it - and so do savvy collectors now.The car presented here is a 1992 Daimler Double-Six, the last of the Series lll ABS models. Like many of these late cars, it did spend some time in Japan, being barely used and cosseted whilst there (paperwork present in the car's history file relates). It was repatriated in 2019 and bought by our vendor 12 months later. Remarkably, he has only covered 600 miles in it during this time, it being part of his Collection of low-mileage and lavished classic cars. Despite this limited driving, he has bestowed much love and attention on it, ensuring it has always been garaged and thoroughly serviced, including changing all fluids and oils, ignition leads, distributor cap/rotor arm, air/oil filters, adding the correct specification spark plugs, new front brake calipers/discs, new rear brake pads; the rear-end suspension has been serviced, with new front roll-bar links, everything re-packed with fresh grease and the bearings fully adjusted. Both fuel tanks have been drained, with all three fuel change over valves replaced, with a new fuel pump and filter fitted. The British Racing Green paintwork has been professionally polished, all lights were removed, cleaned, and the original screws replaced. It has also benefitted from new (and correct) Kent alloys wheels, new Paul Banham-sourced interior parts, including a steering wheel and the factory-supplied lambs wool over-mats are described as ‘still brand new.’ The car is accompanied by 2x keys, much paperwork, invoices, book-pack and model-related literature (see images).Jim Patten of Jaguar World Magazine, who featured this actual car, commented that it was in ‘time-warp condition.' A copy of this magazine accompanies the car. This is a truly remarkable car, best-of-breed for sure; it is exceptionally well-preserved and maintained, with the kudos of being a last of the line model, with only 10,000 miles and in a truly commensurate condition throughout. An excellent example of Toyota’s flagship 1990s sports car. An incredible top-specification Supra packed with JDM goodies. The eagerly anticipated fourth generation (A80) Supra was unveiled at the 1993 Chicago Motor Show after four years in development under the guidance of Chief Engineer, Isao Tsuzuki. The A80 was a major step forward compared to the period-correct boxy shaped Supras, the A80s proportions and flowing design leaned more to the 2000GT of the 1960s than its predecessors with a long, low bonnet line and high-rise optional rear spoiler. All road-going A80 Supras were fitted with some variation of Toyotas bulletproof and highly modifiable 3-litre straight-six 2JZ engine, offering 220bhp in naturally aspirated form all the way up to 326bhp from the sequential twin-turbo variant. While the Supra had supercar looks, the refinement of a Mercedes-Benz and a sub-five second 0-60mph time rivalling the Ferrari 512 TR, initial sales were slow, selling approximately 45,000 examples worldwide. Ironically, only once production of the Supra ceased in 2002 did its popularity truly soar to new heights, gaining an almost cult following. From the offset, the 2JZ engine was highly tuneable and could push huge power with minimal modifications, with the capability of handling 1,000bhp plus with the supporting modifications. Arguably, its cult status was guaranteed with its hero car feature in The Fast and The Furious, driven by Paul Walker and the adoption by Japanese tuning legends such as Smokey Nagata (Top Secret), HKS, Blitz, Veilside and TRD.The car on offer is a remarkable example for a plethora of reasons. The closer you look, the more boxes it seems to tick. Produced in 2001, it is a very late, factory twin-turbo, manual coupé modified with excellent taste with an assortment of JDM 'unobtanium' goodies. Finished in the desirable and rarely seen Quicksilver FX (1B9), combined with the factory confetti Black Recaro seats, not to mention all your usual creature comforts such as climate control air conditioning, central locking and retractable power mirrors. In addition to the top-specification from the factory, the car has been further enhanced with a plethora of rare parts such as a Top Secret front bumper, TRD rear wing, TRD strut brace, TRD instrument cluster, TRD box skirts, TOMS Tec II ECU as well as a Nardi steering wheel, Defi gauges, larger Koyorad radiator, oil cooler, front mounted intercooler, and Bola wheels.Having covered 140,000km from new (87,000 miles), the exterior presents very well, the paintwork gleaming nicely, with the interior presenting well, fabulously period correct and coming to market following a detail, service and fresh MOT.To find a Supra built in such good order is no easy feat, with so many succumbing to rust, crashes and poor modifications, let alone finding one with such a gold mine of phenomenal JDM parts, this really is a fabulous example. To replicate this car and the associated parts would be an eye-watering sum, yet thankfully the careful custodians of this car have taken care of that already. A rightful JDM hero, offered at a reasonable level, come and meet your hero and see what the fuss is about.Specification Make: TOYOTA Model: SUPRA TWIN TURBO Year: 2001 Chassis Number: JZA801005305 Registration Number: Y728 UKE Transmission: Manual Engine Number: 2JZ Odometer Reading: 141000 Miles Make: Interior Colour: Black Cloth, Fleck InsertClick here for more details and images
#50 of 60 special 60th Anniversary Plus Four Super Sports models, uniquely presented in Gulf Motorsport colours. The Morgan Plus 4 was the company’s most popular model since its launch in 1950 and represented the sweet spot within Morgan’s diverse and celebrated range of models, possessing more power and performance than the contemporary 4/4, whilst retaining a level of fuel economy that made it ideal for long-distance touring. A versatile and well-balanced sports car, the Plus four became a Morgan institution, before being superseded by the all-new Plus Four in 2020.Chris Lawrence and Richard Shepherd-Barron’s admirable win in the 2-litre GT Class at the1962 24 Hours of Le Mans driving a Plus Four was the inspiration for Morgan’s creative marketing department to suggest a limited edition 60th Anniversary model based on their then current third generation, 2-litre Duratec-powered Plus Four. Only 62 examples (1962) would be built each, carrying a numbered metal plaque displaying the unique build number and would feature a number of design/styling cues from the Le Mans winner. On offer here we have car #50 which has been owned and enjoyed by our vendor since 2017 and has covered just over 19,400 miles from new. It’s finished in Iris Blue (one of the six ‘launch’ colours available) which is very similar to Gulf Blue (328), an early 1970s Porsche colour adopted by Gulf Oil Motorsport, with Gulf Orange (019), as their signature colours. On offer from a private Collection with less than ten miles from new. The Renault Clio V (fifth generation) was officially introduced in January 2019, ahead of its public debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2019, offered in a variety of trims including Play, Iconic, S-Edition or the top-spec RS Line, which we have here. The RS Line is essentially a sport-inspired trim that gives the standard Clio a more dynamic, performance-oriented look and feel, without being a full Renault Sport (RS) performance model. It is largely about styling with enhancements of both the interior and exterior, offering a more aggressive design but with standard engine options like the TCe (Turbo Control Efficiency).Externally some key features of the RS Line include a sportier front bumper with a more aggressive air intake design and honeycomb grille, resembling the high-performance RS models, RS Line badging on the front wings and tailgate, 17” alloy wheels, chrome tailpipe, an F1-inspired front blade (a signature design feature of Renault’s RS cars) in the front bumper and a Sporty rear diffuser. Interior-wise the RS Line features Sports seats, aluminium pedals, red stitching and carbon fibre style interior trim. From a tech perspective the RS Line features a large touchscreen with Renault’s Easy Link infotainment system, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, SatNav and driver assistance systems like lane-keeping assist, autonomous emergency braking and parking sensors. From a performance perspective, while the RS Line certainly looks sporty, it is equipped with the regular TCe engines, like the 1-litre 90, 1-litre 100 or the 1.3-litre 130, offering it a humble prioritising of efficiency and daily usability, over extreme performance, this example being the 1-litre.In essence, the Clio RS Line is designed for those who want a sportier look and feel without the full performance of a dedicated Renault Sport vehicle. On offer from a Deceased Estate, this 2012 Renault Clio RS Line TCE was first registered as AV21 WLA in May 2021. Our late vendor purchased it new and was the only owner. Eight delivery miles only. The V5C has been sent to DVLA by the executor and a new one will need to be applied for in the new owner’s name.Supplied with its original sales invoice, sundry paperwork and all the usual dealer book pack, manuals, user guides and service books etc. With sporty looks in top of the range trim, finished in desirable colours and packed full of modern tech and safety features, this lovely little Clio is surely the perfect city runabout or first car?Specification Make: RENAULT Model: CLIO RS LINE TCE Year: 2012 Chassis Number: VF1RJA00267434459 Registration Number: AV21 WLA Transmission: Manual Engine Number: U095043 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 8 Miles Make: RHDClick here for more details and images
A highly-developed, 350bhp, British-built sports car offering 0-60 in three seconds, this highly-specified example has covered just 99 miles and in 'as new' condition. In 2012 a pair of car industry professionals, Ansar Ali and Mark Edwards – who had both worked at Lotus and Caterham - decided the time was right to produce a new type of lightweight high-performance sports car, one that combined maximum driving thrills with maximum accessibility - Zenos Cars was born. Less than two years later, Zenos showed its first car, the E10, clearly demonstrating their single-minded determination to use innovation to benefit the experience it delivers to its owners. Production began a few months afterwards, shortly followed by their second model, the E10 S, providing the same engaging experience with even more performance. In November 2015 Zenos announced the pinnacle of the E10 range, the E10 R, offering further development, performance and configuration options. While the E10 S uses a 2-litre EcoBoost engine, the E10 R is fitted with the bigger 2.3-litre unit, similar to that in the Ford Focus RS. In the Zenos it’s good for 350bhp and 350lb/ft of torque. According to company founder, Mark Edwards, he and his team achieved the power figures they had targeted on the first day on the dyno without having to stress the engine too hard. 'We could have had even more power, but we don’t want owners to have to rebuild their engines every year' he says. 'Ford has tested these engines to the moon and back and they’ve got bags of power'.The gearbox is still a 6-speed manual transverse unit gearbox for the E10 R, but the shift action has been shortened for a more precise and direct throw and the gear knob itself is now a bespoke Zenos item. Zenos estimates 0-62mph in three seconds and 155mph flat out. Weighing just 700kg (dry) the E10 R has a power to weight ratio of 508bhp/tonne, which puts it firmly in the performance car big leagues.Standard features of the E10 R include a hybrid carbon-composite cockpit/aluminium spine with steel rollover and side-impact protection system, double wishbone front and rear suspension with Bilstein dampers (in-board front) for incredible handling, O.Z. lightweight racing wheels with Avon ZZR tyres. This particular example features full carbon seats with harnesses, plus the full-sized windscreen. A fully specified E10 R was a £50,000 sportscar when new.The car presented here is a 2016 Zenos E10 R which is UK-registered having covered just 99 delivery miles; indeed, the seats are still plastic-covered and the car has barely been touched.Despite delivering just over 100 cars to customers and what was pretty much universal praise, Zenos hit a financial trouble in early 2017 and fell into administration. The original team behind Zenos moved onto other things. Notably, Ansar Ali went on to be in charge of McLaren's SVO and Matt Windle, who joined Zenos slightly later as Operations Director, has gone even further to become Lotus' CEO.However, do not worry, as there is a very active Zenos-movement out there, with 24-7 Motorsport of Norfolk still providing servicing, upgrades, advice, parts etc. for customers' cars. Give them a call if you are even half-interested in this car.Estimated at £25,000 - £30,000 this 'new' car is substantially cheaper than it would have been if sold when Zenos still existed – so why not be the lead car at every track day you attend and enjoy owning a rare and very well developed British sportscar?Specification Make: ZENOS Model: E10 2.3 R ROADSTER Year: 2016 Chassis Number: SA9FRFRR6GW341096 Registration Number: HX66 HLV Transmission: Manual Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 99 Miles Make: RHDClick here for more details and images
An outstanding multiple concours-winner with a very well-documented history. When the Silver Shadow made its debut in 1965 it represented a marked change of direction for Rolls-Royce, moving on from the traditionally constructed Silver Cloud to bring in a new era of unitary bodyshells and separate suspension units. Around a decade of development work went into the car after the styling was signed off, which makes it even more remarkable that the slab-sided styling still looks timeless today. Four-wheel disc brakes with fail-safe dual circuits and independent rear suspension, using hydraulic self-levelling technology borrowed from Citroën, made the Shadow modern to drive, all powered by Rolls-Royce’s own 6,230cc V8. The interiors and outer panels were all hand-finished, with the finest Walnut, leather and lambswool used to perfect the luxury of the cabin. The fabulous early Shadow on offer here is a multiple concours-winner and has one of the most impressive curated histories we have ever seen, filling six binders.Built at the Crewe works during July 1969 and rolled out as the finished article on 20th July 1969, some 55 years ago and to put that in perspective, it was just nine days after man landed on the moon for the first time. Loxham’s of Preston (later Dutton Forshaw) supplied the car on 3rd October 1969 to a Mr Walsh, a local industrialist who made millions from manufacturing dog biscuits. He paid £7,067 for his new Rolls, a princely sum at the time. He was exacting in his requirements and specified it should be finished in Shell Grey over Tudor Grey and furnished with the finest Crimson hides, Mushroom headlining and Maroon carpets. Plain Sundym glass was also ticked on the options list along with an extra driver’s vent mirror. Nicknamed 'Henry', Walsh himself kept the car until 1992 and it remained with his family until 1999.At this stage the Shadow had become a little tired and required a full restoration, a task taken on by a Mr Brown who, over the next decade, not only restored the car to an extremely high standard but painstakingly curated its entire history. Copies of the original Bill of Sale, warranty card, factory build-sheet and pre-delivery inspection sheets are all present. Invoices cover the last 34 years and MOT's the last 37.Post-restoration the car has enjoyed much success in Concours d'Elegance events and naturally has been garaged and totally cossetted. The odometer currently indicates 28,389 miles but the MOT history confirms that the car has been 'round the clock', and should indeed be 128,389, a bit academic really given its complete mechanical overhaul during the restoration. The Silver Shadow is rightly coming of age as an eminently drivable car with stylish good looks and great road presence. Ready to use and enjoy, this beautiful early car would be welcome anywhere.Specification Make: ROLLS-ROYCE Model: SHADOW Year: 1969 Chassis Number: SRH7586 Registration Number: RCT 797H Transmission: Automatic Engine Number: 7586 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 128389 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: Red leatherClick here for more details and images
On offer from long term ownership, this time warp Legacy RS Turbo is remarkably well preserved having covered less than 22,500 miles from new. In the early 1990s, Subaru’s rally exploits turned the brand’s image on its head. From being staid, unimaginative all-wheel drive oddities that only a farmer might want, the cars campaigned by the likes of Ari Vatanen, Markku Alén, Colin McRae and Richard Burns became the darlings of the 1990s go-faster brigade, as the Legacy and Impreza conquered rally stages across the globe and won World Championships. The first of these to appear was based on the successful Legacy four-door saloon and arrived in 1988 as the Legacy RS, with production starting in 1989. Designed to be homologated for 'Group A' competition, it featured a 220bhp, 2-litre, four-cam, 16v, EJ20 turbocharged flat-four mated to a 5-speed gearbox and all-wheel drive offering a top speed of 155mph.First registered in 1989, this early generation RS Legacy was imported from Japan and has been with its current owner since 2014, kept in heated storage with (importantly) no external lighting, where this time-warp remains today having covered less than 1,200 miles since then. Sitting on a set of gold 15" 6-spoke alloy wheels, it's finished in Ceramic White (057) over a grey cloth and cord-trimmed interior, featuring light grey 'tricot' cloth inserts on the seats with matching door cards. The factory specification includes a heated rear windscreen, 3-spoke leather-trimmed Momo steering wheel, automatic air conditioning, a CD and cassette stereo, electrically adjustable folding door mirrors and electric windows. The Cherished Registration Number, G14 PWL, was purchased to go with the car as a respectful nod to Collin McRae's 'Group A'-winning Subaru Legacy, J314 PWL.This Subaru Legacy RS Turbo is a very well presented time warp of the modern classic Japanese performance saloon, offered in impressive, original condition, and with low mileage. Presented in a timeless factory colour scheme, with a potent turbocharged flat-four, an engaging 5-speed manual gearbox and permanent four-wheel drive, it would make an excellent addition to any collection of Japanese performance cars and an exciting yet practical retro daily driver or weekend toy.Specification Make: SUBARU Model: LEGACY RS Year: 1989 Chassis Number: BC5015363 Registration Number: G14 PWL Transmission: Manual Engine Number: 100945 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 36000 KM Make: RHD Interior Colour: Grey clothClick here for more details and images
Offered without Reserve from the Grand Tourers Collection and rarely seen in this colour combination. The Grand Tourers Collection was curated by a now deceased gentleman, who amassed some 38 cars at one stage. Each car stands on its own merits, and represents an era of style roadsters and hand built coupés. Offered at Without Reserve, the cars are worthy of serious attention.Built alongside and sharing many of the iconic styling features of the legendary 300 SL Roadster, the Mercedes-Benz 190 SL combined superb build quality with understated styling and a, not insignificant, 104bhp from the 1.9-litre four-cylinder engine. An instant hit, the three-pronged star sparkled amidst the gloom of post-war austerity. The 1955 launch of the 190 SL cemented Mercedes-Benz' reputation as the car manufacturer for those who wanted elegance, build quality and a decent turn of speed. Its hugely successful production ran to 25,881 cars from 1955 until 1963, mainly in left-hand drive form, with most going to the North American market.According to the accompanying V5C, this fabulous little 190 SL, rare in this colour combination, was manufactured on 12th January 1956. The car was bought from European Collectables of the Netherlands on the 12th June 2017 and subsequently registered on 1st December 2020.Offered Without Reserve, the car presents well for its age, which is reflected in the estimate and is presented to auction with the aforementioned V5C and 2017 receipt, together with a fresh MOT in readiness for the sale and an odometer reading of 73,781 kilometres."Specification Make: MERCEDES Model: 190 SL Year: 1956 Chassis Number: 5501771 Registration Number: 878 XVM Transmission: TBA Odometer Reading: 73781 KM Make: Interior Colour: RedClick here for more details and images
John Cooper Works GP2 in Thunder Grey Metallic. A serious Mini at a sensible guide. When the Mini John Cooper Works GP was officially announced back in late 2012, even hardened Mini enthusiasts had to take a second look at the numbers. 1,598cc, turbocharged, 215bhp @ 6,000rpm, 206ft/lb of torque, 0-60mph in 6.1 seconds and 150mph!Even a standard Cooper S is a fast and feisty little car, but the GP2 promised something all together more serious. Apart from the inevitable graphics and the aero kit (which reduced drag by 6%), it benefitted from a radical programme of upgrades including new adjustable ride-height coil-over suspension (with inverted dampers at the front) providing increased camber and reduced front toe-in for greater agility, an all-new braking system featuring six-piston calipers and 330mm front discs, GP-specific and super-sticky track day tyres and reconfigured stability control functions including a more aggressive Electronic Differential Lock Control. There were no rear seats, but who cares? The new Works GP had all the makings of a new 'hero' and so it was to prove. Costing £28,790, just 2,000 were made with production ceasing in 2014.This smart example was supplied new by Vines of Guilford in Thunder Grey Metallic with red detailing and optioned with the JCW aerodynamic kit and air-conditioning. From two years current ownership, it's been enjoyed by five previous keepers and has covered an indicated 34,566 miles. It was last serviced at 31,833 miles on 21st March 2024 at Sytner Mini Slough and the current MOT ('No Advisories') is valid until March 2025.Specification Make: MINI Model: JOHN COOPER WORKS GP Year: 2013 Chassis Number: WMWSU92010T741350 Registration Number: HX13 SXC Transmission: Manual Engine Number: A290J438 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 34566 Miles Make: RHDClick here for more details and images
The 12th from last produced, fresh to market from long term ownership, an older restoration that is ready to be enjoyed as intended once again. Making its debut in 1957, the Type 14 Elite was the first production sports car that Colin Chapman designed for Lotus Cars. Lotus' design philosophy ran contrary to the prevailing norm, making their cars lighter, more aerodynamic and therefore more nimble, rather than increasing horsepower and weight, enabling Lotus cars to out-handle much more powerful vehicles on track. It was very light, weighing just 630kg and utilised a 'monocoque' construction which meant there was no separate chassis with the body being load-bearing and whilst this was becoming accepted practice, the Elite was the first time it had been attempted in fibreglass. There were only two strips of steel in the car — a strip for the door hinges to attach to and a very small steel frame to which the engine and suspension were attached and when combined with independent sports suspension, a ZF gearbox, disc brakes, the Coventry Climax all-aluminium engine and a very low drag coefficient of just 0.29, it made for a great drivers' car. The first 280 were built by Maximar prior to production transferring to Bristol Aircraft who built a further 750, however the Elite was very expensive to produce, especially the GRP monocoque which was extremely labour-intensive, and it's understood that they lost around £100 on every car with its successor, the Elan, returning to more conventional construction. This particular Elite S2, offered from long term ownership, has been with its present custodian for some considerable time prior to which it had been partially rebuilt due to having being rolled by an exuberant driver testing the Lotus phrase that the Elite was a ‘road-going racer’. A new body was ordered directly from Lotus in 1967/68 and rebuilt with all new glass, frames and bumpers and other associated parts as required. Finished in Lagoon Blue with a Silver Cap and black upholstery, the Elite has formed part of a private Collection since being acquired, with minimal use over the years however it has been maintained as required with invoices on file detailing such items as the ZF 4-speed close-ratio gearbox being rebuilt some years ago by DWR Engineering of Derby, marque specialists who it should be noted also rebuilt the engine with balanced internals. Other items noted within the history file list are a rebuilt differential, balanced diaphragm clutch and a replacement servo.By the time Elite production ceased in September 1963, 1,030 examples had been built and Lotus had developed from a company unheard of outside of UK club racing to one of the most famous racing teams in the world. They were about to be crowned F1 World Champions for the first time with Jim Clark and were seen as established world players in road car manufacture with a mature market presence in the US and elsewhere. The Elite played a big part in this remarkable feat of automotive industrial growth. It was Lotus' first 'grown-up', credible road car and laid down the foundations of the Lotus business that still exists today. With minimal use of late, minor recommissioning may be required but the potential is there for all to see and with that in mind we welcome and encourage your early inspection of this Bristol-built Series 2.Specification Make: LOTUS Model: ELITE Year: 1963 Chassis Number: FR1988 / EB2018 Registration Number: 323 CDA Transmission: Manual Engine Number: 10833 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 47258 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: BlackClick here for more details and images
Ex-Ford press/promotion vehicle, previously owned by the Benetton F1 Team, with just a handful of enthusiast-owners, 47,000 miles and a huge history file. The original Ford Sierra RS Cosworth was the first Ford to wear the Cosworth badge and was presented to the public at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1985. It was introduced as a means of homologating the Sierra for 'Group A' Touring Car racing, with a requirement that 5,000 cars were built and sold. Launched for sale in July 1986 and based on the three-door Sierra bodyshell, it was designed by Ford's Special Vehicle Engineering (SVE) and was powered by a Cosworth-designed 2-litre turbo engine of now-legendary repute. At this time, the Sierra Cosworth was a new kind of performance car - a 'blue-collar hero' able to humble true sports cars. In total, 5,545 cars were produced - of which 500 were sent to Aston Martin Tickford for conversion to the Sierra RS500 Cosworth. If the RS Cosworth was a homologation car, the RS500 was an evolution special. Once Ford had built the requisite 5,000 RS Cosworths, 'Group A' rules allowed an upgraded evolution model to be launched. This could carry changes focused on improving its racing potential, provided Ford sold 10% of the original number as road cars, hence the 500. The RS500 was announced in July 1987 and had a mechanically uprated Cosworth engine (more similar to the one to be used in competition), with power boosted to 224bhp, upgraded brakes, modified bodywork and the cachet of being hand-assembled - the RS500 really is the ultimate 1980's Fast Ford! Indeed, during the model's 30th anniversary year in 2017, the RS500 was named the 'Ultimate Cosworth' by one of the UK's biggest one-make car shows. The car presented here is 1987 Ford Sierra RS500 Cosworth (AMT #012 of 500/chassis #GG38602) in black, being just the second RS500 despatched from Tickford on 22nd June 1987. Registered D62 XVX, it was to be one of three examples to be used for ‘Press Appraisal’ i.e. a Ford press and publicity car. Iconic Auctioneers were honoured to sell another such example in 2023, registered D64 XVX, which achieved £140,000.#012 was paraded not only at the launch of the RS500 in the UK but all over Europe, as documented in numerous magazines articles and paperwork. Unsurprisingly, due to its significance, #012 was previously owned by Martin Thomas, the former RSOC RS500 Registrar. Martin and his wife Julie are real Ford aficionados and amassed a huge amount of history, provenance and press material surrounding #012 – all of which accompanies the car, in numerous files and dossier-type folders. Fascinatingly, they managed to find a period press image of Peter Collins, the manager of Team Benneton (whose F1 cars were powered by Ford), standing with the car promoting Cellnet car phones; supposedly, at this time, Benetton were responsible for #012, servicing and maintaining it (and rumour-has-it, ‘breathing on it...’) to their high standards. After #012 had completed its press duties, it was offered for sale at a Ford Motor Company auction, when it was purchased by the first of its Ford-enthusiast owners, subsequently being bought, loved and showed at numerous RS events by Martin and Julie Thomas, winning multiple Concours events and featuring in magazines over their years of dutiful ownership. In 2006, #012 was even invited to London to share in the convoy of significant and best of breed vehicles, amassed to help celebrate the 80th birthday of HM The Queen. The car is as good and as significant as you’d want from any RS500, coming to auction from another Ford devotee who has maintained the originality, condition and mechanical health of #012 since he bought it some years ago.Without doubt, a special example of the legendary RS500 which is highly regarded within the Ford community. This is a real opportunity to become a member of very exclusive club of RS500 owners at an attractive guide price.Specification Make: FORD Model: SIERRA RS500 COSWORTH Year: 1987 Chassis Number: WF0EXXGBBEGG38602 Registration Number: D62 XVX Transmission: Manual Engine Number: GG38602 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 47000 Miles Make: RHDClick here for more details and images
One of just 164 UK-supplied cars, just 19,652 miles from new and fresh to market after 12 years of private ownership. In 2008, Ferrari put into production their new lightweight 430, evocatively named the Scuderia. Replacing the 360 Challenge Stradale was always going to be a tough proposition, but with 510bhp, a new lightning fast gear change and an exhaust note which sounded pure F1, the Scuderia managed to be quicker, yet a lot less demanding to drive quickly than the CS.On offer here is a UK-supplied right-hand drive 430 that has formed part of our vendor's private Collection since 2012 and is therefore fresh to market. First registered on 7th January 2009, the car had covered just 19,652 miles from new at the time of cataloguing and is finished in the desirable combination of Rosso Corsa with a factory-fitted stripe over a classic Ferrari black Alcantara interior.Accompanying the Scuderia is a good history file and with all the handbooks, service books, car covers, two keys, Tracker radar detectors front and rear and the V5C showing two former keepers. The very appropriate Cherished Registration Number, 430 SCU, will pleasingly remain with the car which will be freshly serviced prior to our NEC Sale. With only 164 right-hand drive examples supplied to the UK, this 430 offers an incredible opportunity to acquire a beautiful low-mileage Scuderia in one of the most distinctive and attractive colour combinations. On offer from a private Collection with just nine miles from new. The tenth generation Civic, known as the FK, was officially launched on 30th 2015 at the Paris Motor Show in a variety of trims, offering the usual improvements to driveability, styling, safety and technology. The EX Sportline filled the spot of providing a sportier driving experience and aesthetic within the Civic range without being a full performance model, like the bonkers FK8 Type-R, targeting buyers seeking a balance between everyday usability and a more aggressive look with sporty styling elements, improved handling, and Honda’s renowned VTEC efficiency.Externally, key features of the EX Sportline include a more aggressive front bumper, a subtle rear spoiler and a rear diffuser for a more dynamic look. Additionally, it is fitted with 18" black alloy wheels, along with LED headlights and C-shaped LED taillights. Sportline badging further distinguishes this model, complemented by black exterior details. The interior features sport seats with extra bolstering, aluminium pedals, and red stitching on the seats, steering wheel, and gearstick. From a tech standpoint, the Civic EX Sport Line comes equipped with a 7" Honda CONNECT touchscreen system, supporting Apple CarPlay/Android Auto with SatNav as standard. Additionally, the trim benefits from advanced driver assistance systems such as lane assist, adaptive cruise control and autonomous emergency braking for added safety. From a performance perspective, while the EX Sportline certainly looks the part, it features the regular 1-litre VTEC Turbocharged engine, delivering around 126bhp, prioritizing fuel efficiency and daily usability over extreme performance. The driving experience is further enhanced by a more driver focussed suspension setup, which supports improved handling and agility without compromising comfort. In essence, the Civic EX Sport Line is designed for those who want the aggressive looks and sporty feel of a performance car, without sacrificing the practicality and efficiency of a daily driver. On offer from a Deceased Estate, this 2020 Honda Civic EX Sportline VTEC was first registered as AY70 0KC on 25th September 2020. Following a six year, £100,000-plus restoration involving the best names in TVR racing, this is arguably the best Tuscan in the world. The Tuscan was introduced in 1967, produced at TVR’s factory in Blackpool, England essentially as the genesis of the Griffith, a popular car that was plagued with a reputation for poor reliability. The ethos of TVR was to create small-scale, hand-built sports cars with the emphasis on performance and simplicity. The Tuscan came in two guises, the V6 and the V8, both being aimed at different markets, with the V6 model targeting more practical use, whilst the V8 was focused on high performance, especially for motorsports and enthusiasts. In TVR terms, the car was relatively popular, building 173 examples in total, but in grander terms the cars are extremely rare. The Tuscan V6 was powered by a 3-litre Ford Essex V6 offering between 138bhp-150bhp and when combined with a weight of around 900kg, it was a sporty little car, but the V8 is where the numbers become really impressive. The Tuscan V8s were predominantly fitted with Ford 302ci Windsor V8s, although some received Chevrolet small block V8s, pushing out between 270-350bhp depending on engine specification, offering 0-60mph in five seconds and a top speed in excess of 150mph, it really was a lightweight rocket ship and still is today! Just like the V6, the Tuscan used a fibreglass body on a steel frame, with the V8 version being slightly heavier due to the larger engine. Typically, the V8s were mated to a 4-speed manual transmission, but some were equipped with different gearboxes depending on customer preferences. From a racing perspective the Tuscan V8 was a popular choice in the late 1960s and early 1970s, especially in privateer hands. Its combination of brute power and light weight made it competitive in most racing series. The TVR Tuscan was known for its raw, visceral driving experience, with no driver aids like power steering or traction control. The light body, powerful engine and rear-wheel drive made the car extremely agile but also quite challenging to handle, with minimalistic interiors and almost no focus on luxury or safety. The interiors were functional, with basic controls and gauges, the emphasis was entirely on performance.UPY 777J is arguably the best condition Tuscan in the world. Our vendor is a TVR fanatic, having owned 27 of them over the years and planned to enjoy this particular car in his retirement by competing in the occasional hillclimb or sprint. UPY 777J is a well known car within the TVR and hillclimb circles having competed very successfully for decades, with lots of class wins and hill records to its name. It came out of the factory as a V6 but was changed to the Ford V8 early on in its life.It was bought as a complete running and driving car, with the idea being to tidy it up before competing in it, so the car was given to a company in Scotland who started the teardown and rebuild process. After having the car for three years, our vendor simply wasn’t impressed by the quality of the work being done so pulled the plug and gave it to respected TVR gurus, Nigel and Duncan Reuben, to start again. Due to our vendor changing locations internationally and the influence of COVID, it took six years going through and doing everything imaginable to the car to make it perfect, including a brand new body. A new period Ford 289 4.7-litre V8 was sourced, built in the US and shipped over costing c.£20,000. Internally the engine has forged diamond pistons, Eagle conrods, performance cams and an Edlebrock carb. The gearbox is a 5-speed from a TVR Tuscan Challenge car and the differential has been fully overhauled with new internals. Period FIA brakes, discs front and rear are fitted as are the correct Koni adjustable shocks originally from Mike Whittaker’s BFR 400B, costing £1,200 each and there’s six of them. All required parts were from Nigel Reuben Racing and car was built by Duncan Reuben (TVR Classics). An FIA foam fire extinguisher and all the other mandatory safety equipment has been fitted. The end result is incredible, costing well in excess of £100,000 to complete and the quality is evident making this car surely one of, if not the, best presenting and competitive Tuscans in the world. Our vendor, having looked at his shiny new racer and the associated build cost, has decided that the car is essentially ‘too nice’ to use, particularly as his passion for going flat-out up narrow hills has diminished in favour of European tours. Having had shakedown testing and a handful of road miles, the car has stayed in the heated garage and never turned a wheel in anger. There are around 1,000 photos documenting the restoration, detailing everything. The specification is phenomenal, with the very best TVR names on it. From a racing perspective, it’s never had FIA papers but, in terms of eligibility, it can do CSCC Swinging Sixties, HSCC Historic Roadsports, 1970s Road Sports and a plethora of others and achieving FIA papers shouldn’t be difficult if a higher tier of motorsport is the aim.Any Tuscan is a great looking car but this striking example, finished in Old English White, really does stand out from the crowd for all the right reasons. Expected to be fiercely competitive and a definite handful to drive, it's time for the car to find its next custodian to enjoy and continue its legacy.Specification Make: TVR Model: TUSCAN LWB V8 Year: 1970 Chassis Number: LVX17478 Registration Number: UPY 777J Transmission: Manual Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Make: RHD Interior Colour: BlackClick here for more details and images
A fabulous Mk1 1600L. Probably the best example of its type in the country and just one former keeper. Ford had started production of the Capri at Halewood in Liverpool, England in November 1968 in order to ensure that every Ford dealer had at least one Capri on their forecourt on 5th February 1969 and heavily marketed as 'the car you always promised yourself'. Over the next 18 years, nearly 2,000,000 people in Europe and America did fulfil that promise. 11 years after the Capri was launched, it was still in the top ten selling cars in Britain, something that would be impossible today.Over the decades, there can't be many people who have not owned or driven one of the many models of Capri at some point so, whatever your view is of the Capri, it remains a part of our motoring history that carved a place for Ford in a sector of the market it had never been in before and set the trend for others to follow.Ford were absolute masters at upselling their range by adding clever touches which really enhanced the cars and were badged accordingly, allowing your neighbour to closely observe your career path. Specifications and consequently desirability varied directly, with those little chrome letters moving through 'L' to 'XL', 'GXL', 'E', 'GT' and some time later, 'Ghia'. Despite having been built in serious quantities, the ravages of time and multiple owners have significantly reduced the number of survivors and although many of the more powerful and rare examples have been rescued and restored, it's very, very rare to find a basic 1300 or 1600 model like the 1600L on offer here in such fabulous condition. On offer is a simply incredible Capri, probably the best example of it’s type available in the country today. First registered on 9th October 1972, this UK-supplied, right-hand drive 1600L is showing just one former registered keeper from new. Powered by the 71bhp, 1,593cc, four-cylinder Kent engine, it's finished in Lime Glaze and trimmed to 'L-spec' with an odometer reading of 59,233 miles at the time of cataloguing. This show-winning example has been enjoyed the same owner for 43 years of its life and has been subject to a full nut and bolt restoration. The results are simply stunning. We could go on but really a car like this needs to be seen in the metal in order to be fully appreciated so we encourage all interested parties to come to the NEC to see this remarkable Capri for themselves.NB; This vehicle will be issued with a fresh MOT prior to the sale.Specification Make: FORD Model: CAPRI 1600 L Year: 1972 Chassis Number: BBECMR41021 Registration Number: NPF 306L Transmission: Manual Engine Number: MR41021 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Make: RHDClick here for more details and images
A superbly presented, low-mileage example of the last of the line collectible Minis; one for the true enthusiast and avid fan. The best available? Most probably. By 1986, Austin Rover was reformed as the slimmer, more premium-orientated Rover Group and it was odds-on that the Mini would be dropped from the line-up thanks to healthy sales of the Metro. However, it wasn’t and the Mini was marketed as a stand-alone brand, being kept alive with a number of special editions and clever advertising slogans, celebrating its 30th anniversary in 1989.The Mini was lightly revised in 1992 so that the 1,275cc engine could be fitted on the production line, creating the Mk 6 Series – generally regarded as the first of the ‘Rover Minis’, with the Cooper becoming a regular production model. It was well-received and gave the Mini a stay of execution, with the 998cc A-Series engine being gradually phased out in favour of the Cooper’s 1,275cc fuel-injected unit throughout the range. When the final Mk 7 version of the classic Mini appeared in 1996, total production had declined to a low of 16,000 units a year. The Mini built by BMW-controlled Rover was a very different car under the skin to its predecessor and now came with a long list of optional extras. The heavily revised post-1996 Mini now sat on 13" wheels and the car’s distinctive side-mounted radiator had been replaced with a more conveniently located front-mounted unit that allowed the car to meet new limits on drive-by noise levels. A better heater and a pair of airbags featured whilst higher gearing provided a more relaxing drive and by now, all Minis were fitted with a 63bhp, twin-point, fuel-injected, 1,275cc A-Series engine. The end for the classic Mini finally came on 4th October 2000, when the last car rolled of the production line at Longbridge to the soundtrack of the film The Italian Job and thunderous applause from the gathered crowd of workers, management and journalists. And now, 24 years on, a 1990s Mini makes a tempting classic proposition.Due to the immense popularity of the Sports Pack, an option on 1997-2000 Minis, Rover decided to release a final standalone model with it fitted as standard. The ‘Classic Cooper Sport’ was born and became the flagship of the Mini range. The traditional Old English White roof and bonnet stripes were removed in favour of the more modern Platinum Silver. The Walnut dashboard was replaced with an alloy version, previously an optional extra on 1997-2000 models. The alloy interior pack (including window winders, door pulls and door handles) was now fitted as standard. Finally, the 'Cooper' logo centre caps were replaced with green 'Mini' ones, as were the logos on the steering wheels.Just 2,091 right-hand drive Classic Cooper Sports were made from the last batch of production, each with the unique SAXXNP chassis number and today, these are highly sought after and rare cars with just 587 known to the Register. The car presented here is a 2000 Mini Classic Cooper Sport 2000 in Solar Red and silver paintwork, representing the pinnacle of the late Rover Mini incarnations, a firm must-have for any classic Mini fan or collector. With just under 8,000 miles covered and in a rarely seen state of preservation, this single owner from new example is of collector quality and needs to be seen to be fully appreciated.Specification Make: ROVER Model: MINI CLASSIC COOPER SPORT 2000 Year: 2000 Chassis Number: SAXXNPAZE1D186719 Registration Number: X339 YPR Transmission: Manual Engine Number: 12A2LK70382096 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 7967 Miles Make: RHDClick here for more details and images
Magazine-featured RV8 with some driver-focused upgrades. Offered without Reserve. In creating the RV8, Rover very cleverly used a combination of off-the-shelf parts, such as the Range Rover's V8 engine and British Motor Heritage's MG B bodyshell. So, in this reincarnation of the MG B, the rubber bumper specification body was utilised and modified to accept a new set of beautifully curvaceous outer panels. The 3.9-litre Range Rover EFi V8 engine developed 188bhp and gave the RV8 enough power to crack 0-60mph in just under six seconds which, even now, is pretty impressive. A 5-speed LT77 gearbox, derived from the Rover SD1 was used along with a new Salisbury axle. Very significant modifications were made to the suspension and brakes to bring the car up to date. The interior featured soft leather in Stone Beige and a Burr Elm facia and door caps. The RV8 was shown at the 1993 Tokyo Motor Show creating a huge demand which resulted in 1,583 examples (of the 1,983 total) being exported to Japan, however many of those cars have now come back to the UK, joining the 307 originally sold here. No RV8s were ever sold in the US and consequently, all examples are right-hand drive. On offer here is an RV8 that’s been privately owned by a close friend of Iconic Auctioneers since 2012 and is excitingly offered without Reserve. The UK Registration Number is M982 TAW (currently on private plate M11 00C which isn’t included with car) and the mileage at the time of cataloguing was 6,643 (by current owner) plus 22,000 miles on the old kph speedo, so just over 28,000 miles. The vendor reports that the car is in standard condition apart from the following:Optimax chip fitted when importedClive Wheatley designed for the car SPA X shocksClive Wheatley Polyurethane Bump Stops, EZ power steering (adjustable & on/off in car) absolutely essential for the wife and much loved by the sellerMesh wind stop (essential, try one without before you judge the reports)Wooden steering wheel and gear knob (the originals deteriorate badly but both good condition originals come with the car)DAB RadioIn September 2019, the car featured as the 'Dream Drive' in Classic Car magazine in a seven-page article with a copy included. The MG forms part of a 12-car Collection so there is always a service, oil change or a greasing Waxoyl/Lanogard treatment going on ensuring that the cars remain in ready-to-go condition. The owner reports that he’s had no trouble for the last ten years, no incidents of any kind, never overheated, failed to start, broke down, nothing - not even a puncture (on Michelins). The MG gets very light use on the nicest of days tending to be used on longer trips and excelling on A and B roads. There is a good history folder with old MOTs, an original brochure, genuine MG repair manual, old magazine articles (inc. the one featuring this car), MG Car Club RV8 book etc.Benefiting from a recent service, this handsome RV8 is on the market for the first time in 12 years and ready for its next lucky owner.Specification Make: MG Model: RV8 Year: 1995 Chassis Number: SARRAWBNBMG001302 Registration Number: M982 TAW Transmission: Manual Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 28000 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: Stone BeigeClick here for more details and images
One of only 406 examples produced, this German-delivered car is refreshingly original, with just 31,000 miles, low owners and an enviable servicing history. Volkswagen's decision not to proceed with their designed-by-Porsche 914 replacement led to the latter taking on the project themselves. Launched in November 1975, the resulting 924 drew heavily on Volkswagen/Audi components - the 2-litre, four-cylinder, overhead-camshaft engine being a development of the Audi 100's and the 4-speed transaxle a VW unit. A 5-speed Porsche-designed gearbox and improvements to the suspension were early developments and in 1978 came the first truly high-performance 924 - the Turbo. The latter's extra 45bhp raised the top speed to around 150mph and this figure would be further improved upon by the 924 Carrera GT. A road model with competition potential, the luxuriously equipped Carrera GT was launched at the 1979 Frankfurt Show. Easily distinguishable from lesser 924s by virtue of its bonnet air intake and widened wheel arches, the Carrera GT was built in limited numbers - only 406 were made - 400 cars being the minimum requirement to gain homologation for rallying and 'Group 4' events. The standard version came with 210bhp, but this could be boosted to well over 300bhp for racing. Three cars were entered by the works in the 1980 Le Mans 24-Hour Race, finishing sixth, 12th and 13th.The car presented here is a 1981 (MY) Porsche 924 Carrera GT delivered new to Germany, thus LHD/937. It obviously came with the generous specification of a its model type, plus the additions of (115) Digital radio with traffic decoder, (197) stronger battery 63 Ah, (220) limited-slip differential 40% locking factor, (395) 16" forged alloy wheels, (398) exterior mirrors, heated and electrically adjustable, (425) rear window wiper and (650) removeable roof, but not electric windows and A/C - this an homologation model after all!It was sold to its first customer, Herr Maier, in October 1980 and was serviced routinely, at Porsche (Mahag) München, until 24,450km. Herr Maier continued to treasure it until 1999 and 47,500km before its second owner, Herr Class, also from Munich, acquired it and put it safely away into storage for around ten years. The third owner, Herr Beyerlein, did likewise, quietly placing the car into his Collection; neither Class nor Beyerlein registered the car for the road, having it purely as a collector-piece. Appreciating the car's impressively original, unmolested condition our Porsche-enthusiast vendor (a British businessman living/working in Switzerland) bought it in 2018 and subsequently oversaw its recommissioning (to comply with very stringent Swiss laws), spending approximately £5,000, enabling him to drive and enjoy it regularly - something the car has excelled at.Pleasingly and increasingly rarely, this 924 Carrera GT has remained wholly original, with only three previous enthusiast-owners and just 48,919km (30,396 miles), at the time of cataloguing, in 44 years. Reassuringly, it's still accompanied by the original service booklet documenting its regular maintenance, its Porsche Heritage Certificate and much associated paperwork. Our vendor, a member of the Owners Club, has conferred with model experts who deem its Indian Red (aka as Guards Red G1) paintwork to be (mostly) factory-original and were thrilled to see the original soundproofing still in-situ under the bonnet! This rare and exciting Porsche is presented to auction absolutely ready-to-go, having just been treated to a major service, including a cambelt, oil, brake and clutch fluid changes; it offers a great opportunity to take ownership of a rarely seen Porsche, in sought-after original condition that is guaranteed to attract all the right attention at any classic car event.NB: please note that the vendor will pay the UK import when the car sells if the buyer wishes to register the car in the UK.Specification Make: PORSCHE Model: 924 CARRERA GT Year: 1981 Chassis Number: WPOZZZ93ZBN700090 Registration Number: TBA Transmission: Manual Engine Number: (M31/50) 31500163 Drive Side: Left-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 48650 KM Make: LHD Interior Colour: Black pinstripe velourClick here for more details and images
An unique V8-powered Defender specially commissioned by Guy Ritchie, the renowned British film director, producer and screen-writer. Used and enjoyed by him on his country estate and trips into London. Despite, or perhaps because of, being recognisably related (with the same charm and character) to the very first Land Rover of 1948, the Defender retained a steadfastly loyal customer base. Perhaps the most significant development, however, was nothing to do with a change in the vehicle’s appearance or specification - it was the gradual adoption amongst trendy metropolitan elites as their carriage of choice, taking the Land Rover legend from the country into the city. As such, it became popular with both cattle herders and yoga instructors alike, an expanding market that is now reflected in a replacement new-era Defender that’s as good carving through SW1 as it is up to its axles in mud. Production of the original (and arguably the best) Defender exceeded 2,000,000 examples before the model was discontinued by JLR in 2016 – but their loss was others’ gain. It created a new market of marque specialists who, as well and servicing and preserving the Defender, set about creating bespoke, enhanced and adapted examples for a client-base that truly value what the Defender represents. One such specialist workshop is Nene Overland of Peterborough, dedicating themselves to all things Defender since 1988. They are able to do complete ‘in-house’ builds and have always set the standard when it comes to Defender enhancement. In 2015 they were approached by Guy Ritchie, the esteemed British film director, to create a vehicle to his exacting requirements. As the owner of the 1,100-acre Ashcombe Estate in Wiltshire and a devotee of country pursuits, any such Defender had to really cut it, both practically (as a work vehicle, shoot-truck and ferrying guests around the Wiltshire countryside) and aesthetically (enhanced/bespoke whilst still retaining the classlessness of a Defender) and also be able to cruise up to London for a stint at the film studios, a premiere or social event, again having to pass muster with the cosmopolitan city crowd – no easy brief for Nene Overland! They sourced this 2.2-litre ‘Puma’ diesel-engine 2011 Defender 110 XS specifically for the project, knowing it to be especially well cared for, regularly serviced and with just 28,000 miles. The specification was to be impressive and highlights include a 430bhp Chevrolet ‘crate’ LS3 6.2-litre small-block V8 engine, a 6-speed automatic gearbox, cruise-control, four-corner fully adjustable air-suspension, upgraded brakes, 20” wheels with premium tyres, a set of new, full-size Range Rover (heated, vented and electrically-controlled) leather seats (the rear seats are set right back to give a limousine-esque experience) and a specially-built, concealed and lockable gun drawer in the luggage bay floor. The colour choice was key and would set the tone for the whole project with the final choice being satin-finished Keswick Green which contrasted well with the black accents of the wheels and billeted door handles and hinges. The addition of auxiliary lights, front and back, by market-leading brand, Lazer, plus a recovery-winch unit and twin rear exhausts all add a sense of purpose and subtle ‘flex’ whilst retaining an air of restraint. As for the interior, all the seats and door-cards were trimmed in Lincoln Green with black quilted leather, whilst the whole area is fully soundproofed, carpeted and Alcantara-trimmed, further benefitting from upgraded audio by Focal, the French hi-fi specialists, and additional ambient lighting. And now this incredible Land Rover Defender is for sale, and Iconic Auctioneers are very honoured to be selling it on behalf of Guy Ritchie. It has covered less than 20,000 miles since its transformation and has been exceedingly well looked after in that time, as you’d expect. So, here we have it, two British cultural icons – the Land Rover Defender and Guy Ritchie - what a combination and what an opportunity this is then, to acquire the personal car, designed and enjoyed by the man himself. Don’t miss it!Specification Make: LAND ROVER Model: DEFENDER 110 V8 Year: 2011 Chassis Number: SALLDHMS7BA823415 Registration Number: LP60 MWM Transmission: Automatic Engine Number: W498889 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 19000 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: Lincoln Green Click here for more details and images
