A rolled gold hunter pocket watch, white enamel dial with Roman numerals, signed Dennison to case, a silver cased pocket watch with engine turned decoration to case, white enamel dial with roman numerals and subsidiary seconds dial, together with a collection of other costume jewellery to include an Art Deco paste ring, a ladies Widdop mechanical bracelet watch, a ladies stainless steel Rotary mechanical bracelet watch set with marcasite, a Victorian 1887 coin mounted as a brooch and a gilt metal guard chain (damaged)
Kawasaki Z1300 Fuel Injection 1984 Low Miles - One of only 3 models of mass produced 6 cylinder motorcycles. The Kawasaki Z1300 was the only one that offered water cooling and shaft drive, then eventually digital fuel injection. If you had one of these back in the 80’s you were a lucky person!“B999” has been tucked away in a private collection for a good few years and was last taxed for road use in 1987, (although it was last MOTd in 2010) With just under 12000 miles recorded on its odometer and in a condition that would lend credence this low miles. Apart from brand new stainless steel exhaust being recently fitted by the vendor it is original and very rare to see in the red.Cosmetically in a good condition and the engine runs well, but as with all bikes that have stood, we recommend a level of recommissioning prior to usage. They will never make bikes like these again and as Japanese classics like the Z13’s smaller brother the Z900 whose prices have now hit 20,000 pounds for a good one, Z1300 values are following suit.
Fiat 500D “Suicide Door” Museum Quality!! 1963 - One of four superb cars entered by the same vendor and only now available due to a change of direction in his purchases, this stunning, ultra-desirable, 1963 Fiat 500D with its rare forward opening “Suicide Doors” is described as “Museum Quality”!!This “500” has been “sympathetically restored” using all the correct period parts and the end result is what you see today , the result is beautiful or maybe it should be ” Bellissimo” to be correct. The end result is an exterior that is in fantastic condition with no rust or marks, bear in mind this was never a rusty hulk to begin with, just a car that needed a little tlc here and there. The interior is also superb and needing no more work, all in a great condition and period correct. While having the cosmetics attended to the mechanics were also checked over, anything that needed doing was done including a service to the engine. A new generator was fitted as it showed low charging and now this rare 500 stops, starts and drives perfectly. The vendor has set all areas of the car as “Excellent” and you know what? We agree with him. With a current UK MOT through to February 2018 this little 500 is ready for a new home.
Jaguar XJS 5.3 V12 CONVERTIBLE 1989 - F6 XJS is a lovely example of Jaguars superb XJS Convertible that was first registered 1st of August 1989. In the following 26 years only traveling 54,500 miles and spending the last 6 of them as part of a private collection.Exterior paintwork is very nice with no rust or damage, the silver paintwork shines nicely and all the chrome work is in very good condition. The contrasting black hood is the fully electric type, in full working order and in good condition. Coming with the car are the hard to find tonneau cover and stowage bag for when hood is down.Interior, like the exterior, is in very good condition with its leather and wood trim in very good order throughout. Jaguar really did make the cabins of these cars a very nice place to be.Under that long sleek bonnet lives one of the best British engines of its time, Jaguars silky smooth but powerful fuel injected 5.3 litre V12. Almost silent when running until you press the throttle pedal, then the note changes and the scenery outside slides past very quickly, no fuss. With the roof down on a sunny day and a nice A road in front, these cars are a pleasure to own and drive. With the Engine, Gearbox, Electrics and General Mechanics all being described as “very good” by the vendor, loads of service history and paperwork from over the years, all the old MOT’s back to 1992 and a current MOT through till November this year, this Jag is ready to go. Prices are on the up now for nice examples such as this and it is now rare to find one in this order with the low reserve the vendor has set. So whether a collector, a speculator or someone looking for a beautiful classic, in our opinion this car tics all the boxes.
Landrover Defender 90 Turbo Diesel 1990 SWB Pick up - THIS CAR IS LISTED AS A TOTAL LOSS ” Estimated cost of Commercial repair was more than value of vehicle.”This very nice “Landy” has as you can see, been subject to a total loss claim in 2015. Apparently it had a minor under bonnet fire but we cannot verify this, either way it is listed as “not commercially viable to repair” and the insurers wrote it off! Not an uncommon occurrence nowadays and becoming more and more common due to the inflated rates charged by some repair companies. You tell me how many 26 year old Land Rovers that A. Have not had some damage in their life and B. Look this good? With only 104K miles on the clock it really is a very nice example. The 2.5 Liter Diesel engine fires straight up with no fuss and being this later model, it’s equipped with a five speed gearbox. On the road the turbo pulls it along very well. Brakes and general mechanics are all good and there is a current MOT through to July 2017. (Exhaust tail pipe is missing) Wheels and tyres are all very good.Interior is tidy with genuine floor mats and no sign of heavy usage. The passenger door does have the internal lock knob missing though, otherwise all good. With the demise of production, these “real” Land Rovers are getting harder to find and more expensive by the day. Without this one’s history then it would definitely be worth £8k or so, this gives someone the opportunity to own one for far less.
Launched in late in 1994 was Jaguars new XJ Range or “X300” the first to be done under the company’s new Ford ownership. While on the outside it looked fairly different to its predecessor the “X40”, underneath it was more of an evolution. But in amongst the various options available was a first for Jaguar, a “super-charged” version of their superb straight six 4 litre engine that with its Eaton M90 supercharger and an air-water intercooler was quoted as producing a very healthy 322 brake horse power, enough to get it from 0 – 60mph in sub 6 seconds! The “X306” XJR6.This particular Margch 1996 example has been off the road in a doctor’s garage since apx. 2011 but now with a new battery is running beautifully and will have a new MOT prior to being sold. Unfortunately one problem it does have and common to these cars, is the pixels on the Odometer reading and clock have deteriorated to the point it makes the mileage covered hard to read. You can see its 90 something thousand and the mileage at its last MOT was 93155, in fact all its MOTs are listed back to 2006 where it had only covered 65859 miles, so not a high miler for sure. The Interior is very good and points again to its low recorded mileage. Just the driver’s outer side seat back bolster showing signs of duress. Otherwise the leather has survived very well indeed and you get that lovely air of quality when sat inside that so many other companies try so hard to replicate but somehow just don’t get it right? The electrics all appear to function, 4 way electric windows, heater blower, electric front seat etc. Even the original stereo is still in place and working along with its electric aerial.Body work is good but never having been restored there are areas where the lacquer on the paint has thinned from excessive polishing, mainly on the boot lid. Some dinks and marks here and there but very little rust and still looks great! The special alloys the “R” came with are very good, in fact the spare looks brand new!The engine? Well that’s as silky smooth as the day it left the factory with the 4 speed “switchable” Automatic box it is coupled to, changing gear seamlessly. Oil pressure is very good, temperature sits just on the normal mark and does not move. In fact if it was not for the Rev counter, on tick over with the windows closed, you would think it had stalled! Press the throttle and no being thrown back in the seat like a turbo charged car does, just an instant increase in power, no lag, just a constantly increasing “push” until the box changes gear, then off you go again.General mechanics and electrics are all good and as said will be up to or past the MOT requirements. Cars such as this just could not be available for such little amounts of money for much longer in fact values are now up and will continue in that direction we are sure. With only 6500 “XJR’s” being built over a 4 year production run, this is already a rare car!NOTE: New MOT in place and the vendor tells us it had 4 new tyres fitted.
Reliant Scimitar GT SE4C 1967 - 3 Litre V6 Essex Ford, 4 speed manual gearbox with working overdrive on 3rd and 4th.This stylish British Sports Coupe has been restored and brought back to its former glory with stunning metallic grey paint work, 5 1/2 J steel rims with quality tyres all round, overhauled engine and braking system, twin stainless steel exhausts with a lovely throaty sound plus new battery, hoses etc, etc.The interior has a new headlining and carpets, refurbished black interior trim plus all new rubbers. This vehicle has a large history file including old MOTs and lots of receipts plus the original Scimitar GT Coupe handbook and workshop manual.77,000 miles recorded with only 3 previous owners, Mot until November 2017 and benefiting from free historic road tax. With it’s great shape and styling, this rare coupe has excellent investment potential. A true classic in very good condition ready to be driven and enjoyed.
Volkswagen Beetle Convertible 1973 - While not a “genuine” Karmann , this 1973 Beetle convertible has been converted very well at some point in its life, probably around the time it is said to be restored in the early 80’s and now while not a concourse example presents very well. The soft top is easy to remove and when in the raised position does not leak, that in itself is very unusual. But let’s face it, with the vinyl interior who cares if you get caught out by our un-predictable weather, you buy a soft top V-Dub to enjoy with the roof down and it looks so much better that way. This particular car, being a 73 has the desirable metal dash and earlier rear lights etc plus the benefit of being in the “Historic” tax class so tax free. After being in storage, being part of a private collection that is being reduced in numbers and on a horrible cold drab day its 1300cc engine fired straight up, no nasty rattles or noises and soon settled into that strange tick over peculiar to VW air cooled engines, blowing smoke rings in the mist. Mechanically the vendor describes the car as being very good and as such he will be placing a new MOT on the car prior to the auction.Body work is very solid with little or no sign of rust, paint is driver quality and will benefit from a good deep polish to bring it back to life. Interior is clean and tidy and described as good. The fabric hood is good with just some cracking to the beading around the edges from being folded. All the electrics function as designed and the general mechanics of the car are described as very good as well. All in all, a cheap way into owning a classic VW Beetle convertible in these days of high values being seen at sales throughout the world, with the added advantage for us of being Right Hand Drive.
Fiat 500D “Transformabile” 1964 - Back in 1960 Fiat launched the Fiat 500D as a replacement for the outgoing model the Nuova 500. While retaining the outgoing models “suicide doors” they decided to replace the full length folding roof with one that only folded halfway, apart from that is on the rare model they called the “Transformable” making this model particularly sought after and very collectable today. Here we have a lovely example. Built in 1964 and restored approximately 10 years ago by an Italian Coachbuilder in Italy who rebuilt the engine, the interior and painted the body. Today the paint work is still very presentable with only minor imperfections. In fact all the original glass is still in place and is clear with only very fine hairline marks. All exterior trim is present, correct and in good condition and complimented by new chrome bumpers. The interior is still in great condition and it even the original over mats are present with only light marks. The engine starts with no hesitation, settles down to a nice even tick over and when on the road pulls cleanly, making the most of the 17hp that its 499cc produces. All the electrics work correctly and the overall mechanics are described as very good and there is a current UK MOT until 21st April 2017.Having watched and seen what other examples have sold for, this car is being offered with a very reasonable reserve and would complement any collection while increasing in value year on year.
Honda 50 AC15 “Dream” Race replica with ultra low miles - Do you ride it or put it on the wall, it is after all as pretty as a picture??These diminutive 50cc Honda Motorcycles, named a “AC- 15 Honda Dream” were produced for one year only, 1997/8 to commemorate the successful 1962 Honda CR110 single cylinder racer. Not only was the production run a very short one but they were only produced for the Japanese Domestic Market and as such were never an “officially” imported bike elsewhere, making them a very rare thing and an instant collector’s piece. This particular bike is as good as new with only 26 Kilometres (16 miles) on the odometer. It was first registered new in the UK in March 2001 by a motorcycle shop that did not resell until 2005 so you can only surmise it was on show. From then a company owned it prior to the vendor that put it into his private collection, which is where it stayed, still with just the one previous keeper ( the bike shop) showing on the V5.Honda really pulled out all the stops with this bike, even designing a rarely seen configuration single cylinder engine with double over-head cam shafts, a double tube frame and disc brakes front and rear. Toped of with the one of tank, tail piece and dropped bars to replicate the original racer. As you can see the bike is just about as good as new with just a very slight ageing on things like the spokes, maybe the tiniest mark here and there, it is effectively nearly 20 years old after all. It will need to be recommissioned if you want to use it or just get the no more nails out!A very rare opportunity to buy such a low mileage example and super collectable and one that will make you smile every time you look at it.
AMC Rebel Convertible 290 V8 Auto RIGHT HAND DRIVE!! 1967 - The AMC “Rambler” Rebel is a rare bird indeed. Coming from one of the smallest producers of cars in the States and only made for two years as a Convertible 1967 and 68. A mere 1686 were made. Now throw in that this example is a Right Hand Drive car! Yep getting rarer but I hear you say “They were made as knock down kits in Right Hand Drive form, shipped to Australia and New Zealand where they were reassembled using some local content”. Ok and this car has the twin dial dash that all Australian and NZ cars had, unlike the single rectangular clock dash the Left hookers had. The fly in the ointment with that is that according to all the books ALL of the RHD cars were 4 door Hardtops. The vendor has come across the odd comment or reference over the years that mention one or two convertibles may have gone as kits to Australia, but there is no official line on this. Either way this car is damn rare! The 67 Convertibles were the only year to carry the “Rambler” name and all were built as the top spec SST versions with power hoods and split front seats. Another rare item is the engine in this car is a 290 V8 while the vast majority of RHD cars in 67 had a straight six? It also has the optional power steering.Having been bought by the vendor just over 3 years ago with a view to getting it back to show standard, it was unfortunate for the car but not the vendor, that about then his business took off and for the next three years it has sat, barely turning a wheel. Now, although the engine runs well, the electrics work, the power hood on is in good shape and fully operational and the car drives, it is being offered as a project car that will need some work and re-commissioning prior to being road worthy and to get it to show quality. There is no MOT on the car but there is some history and paperwork. What an opportunity for someone to own what could well be a one of a kind, power hooded convertible, late sixty’s muscle car!!
“The Jike Trike” a 5.3 Litre 3 wheeled monster!! - Wow! What the hell is that??? Yes ladies and gentlemen, this is exactly what it looks like… a Trike powered by a 5.3 V12 Fuel Injected Jaguar XJS Engine and the product of one mans obsession to “create” something a bit special. Over 4,000 man hours and £50,000 + later the “Jike Trike” was born. There is no point in trying to describe this vehicle as you really need to study it for hours to do it justice. Virtually the whole thing is hand made and one off where the chassis etc are concerned with the original car donating its running gear, back end and rear seats. It really does make you proud that there are still people out there that continue the “anything is possible if you think about it” engineering philosophy that we are famous for here in the UK. For those of you that want the ultimate toy or an interesting revenue stream as people will queue up to hire it for Proms, weddings etc. This IS the only one in the world!
Austin A40 1962 - This lovely Austin A40 was first registered new in 1962 and has had only two owners in its life, undergoing a full restoration while in its current owner and vendors keep. Only 53K miles recorded on the original speedometer and with many old mot’s helping to back up this low mileage.Having been laid dormant for 12 years prior to him purchasing it he then set out on a total restoration over the following years. During this time the engine was removed and rebuilt including a new cylinder head converted to run on un-leaded petrol. Its brake system was completely rebuilt using new wheel cylinders, brake linings and hoses and the refurbished wheels, all 5 of them, were shod with the correct Dunlop tyres.Outside the shell was taken back to bare metal, it was at this point it was discovered that the car had never been welded or rusty in its life, so was treated to the appropriate actions prior to receiving its professional respray just over two years ago. Once this was done, all exterior chrome work was replaced with new items, over £1000 spent on them alone, any stainless steel trims re-polished before fitting and all the window rubbers were replaced (phew!)The interior received the same attention, but as the seats were in such good order they were heavily cleaned while the carpets were replaced. The dash is all original and in lovely shape. All in all the vendor spent in excess of £5,500 on the restoration and that does not include his own labour, just the bits he has the bills for in its history file, which also includes various photos taken during the restoration. Now only for sale due to lack of use by its 80 year old owner and his desire for someone else to enjoy it.Although, as we said rarely used, the vendor will ensure it will be running and driving prior to auction. But we guess it would be best to expect a small amount of recommissioning prior to driving. DWC156 comes with its file of receipts, owner’s manual and original Bill of Sale. For those that might be interested and it would be a shame to do it, the registration book is not marked with “Non Transferable “ so the plate itself must be worth £1000 plus, if that’s the case ( down to you to confirm this with DVLA not us)Now offered with a reserve that is less than just the money spent and definitely worth it as an investment or a perfect first classic car.NB: Sorry about the poor quality pictures but the owner does not have a computer so these are pictures of photo’s.
Honda CD175 - Having undergone a total “Nut and Bolt” restoration at a cost of over £4000 you can imagine the condition of this 1972 Honda CD175 Motorcycle. Wow!!Starting off with a bike that only showed 4100 recorded miles that the restorer was assured by its owner was correct, he set out to turn what was a sad and forlorn motorbike into this totally immaculate bike you see here. Once stripped to component parts, the frame was powder coated. The wheels received the same treatment but with a special “chrome” powder coating and then rebuilt using stainless steel spokes giving a remarkable effect. The engine and gear box unit was stripped and meticulously rebuilt using only genuine Honda parts. The cylinder block itself was stove enamelled complementing the overall appearance beautifully. Then over the next two years the bike was pieced back together applying the same very high standard throughout and now must be one of the best examples of this model in existence today. Described by the vendor as “A true Gem” we would have to agree.
Norton 750 Atlas 1963 “Cafe Racer” - Now if you are reading this, the likely hood is you were of an age in the sixties when you either walked round in tight fitting trousers and a Parka style jacket and rode small two stroke Italian motorcycles with ten inch wheels or you spent most of your time hanging around outside places like London’s “Ace Café” in jeans and a leather jacket trying to look like Marlon Brando. If you fit into the latter category then your bike of choice might well of looked like this 1963 Norton Atlas .From its “dropped bars” through the skinny alloy tank and its single seat with bum stop, it just looks right. Originally designed for the American market, to satisfy their lust for big cc motors (the Atlas name, apparently, came from the name of America’s Intercontinental Ballistic Missile) its 750 cc twin engine was mounted in Norton’s legendary “Featherbed” frame. Giving the engine a frame that handled as well as it went. With only 5 keepers and having spent the last few years in a private collection, it will need some amount of recommissioning. Condition is lovely if you want something that is a useable bike. There are some marks etc on it but that is what makes this particular bike look so right in our opinion.Long overshadowed by the single cylinder bikes from Norton, these big twins are now coming into their own, being a third of the price helps! But with very few new examples coming to market, values are now moving upwards quickly so this bike represents a rare opportunity to own one at a sensible price. Plus you can dress up like Marlon Brando but that’s another story!
Porsche 911 Targa Tiptronic S 2004 - Being one of the most recognised shapes in the Car world, this superb 2004 incarnation of Porsche Motor Companies iconic 911 sports car needs little or no introduction. However being a 2004 car makes this particular stunning example a last year model of the “996” range.Coming with a full service history showing 9 stamps, with the last one at 138K so just 2000 miles ago, it really is a prime example. All areas of the car are described as “Excellent” by the vendor, from the unmarked black leather interior through to its heavily waxed and professionally valeted exterior, this car has needed for nothing while in the keep of its 3 owners. Its current owner has owned it for the last 5 years and in that time the only thing that has been changed is the Porsche “split rim” wheels, themselves an expensive option from new, have had the centers painted into a very nice gun metal grey that sets the car of nicely when contrasted against the silver bodywork. Now we all know these cars are about performance, try 0 – 60 in 5 seconds which this car is quoted at, but with its 3.6 litre 320 hp water-cooled flat-six engine and tip-tronic Automatic gearbox fitted, it is both a formidable “GT” car, effortlessly cruising at motorway or “Autobahn” speeds in comfort. Or just as happy making that daily grind of driving into work a pleasure. With its full service history, handbooks an MOT through to August, it is ready to go for its next owner.NOTE: The vendor has informed us that in December 2016 he had a full Porsche health check carried ot on this car which came back as “Very Good” and will be with the car.NOTE 2 : The personal plate currently on the car will be sold with the car.
Chesil “Speedster” 356 Porsche Replica - Built using a 68 VW as a base so historic and tax free, this 356 replica Chesil Speedster is definitely one of the better 356 kits we have seen, having been built by Chesil themselves on behalf of the original owner. No expense was spared and this shows in the finish of the light blue metallic paint on the outside, with its gold Porsche motifs, through to the interior which is blue leather with colour matched quality carpets. Then toped of with a quality mohair hood in blue. Ironically some of this is probably better quality than you would find in an original car, even the side widows are wind up so no need to carry the normally hard to find wet weather side screens around with you.It is fitted with an 1800cc version of VW’s flat four air cooled engine so this “Speedster” not only looks the part but goes well too. Chesil kits are very well thought of kits and this shows in the quality of the finished products they produce. It really is very hard to tell the difference, especially as this what also sounds right as it drives by. That’s the point though isn’t it? Have a car that looks like its £100,000 that costs one fifth of that. The vendor gives all the mechanics as very good and with a current MOT through to September 2017, says it is ready to go.
Austin Mini Mayfair 1986 One Owner From New!! NO RESERVE - Once more we here at ECCA are proud to of been trusted by the family of the owner of “Molly” the Mini, to offer her for sale through our Auction house. This One Owner from new Mini was owned by their mother and used right up to 2014 when unfortunately she became unfit to drive and had to go into a residential home. After much soul searching, remember the family spent their formative years in this little car, it was decided to offer it via auction with “No reserve” and let the market establish a true value. Molly herself had covered only 47059 miles when we first met her tucked up in a nice dry garage. We put fresh petrol in, a set of jump leads on and off she went! Hardly surprising though as her comprehensive history shows that the last time she was driven was 11.02.14 when a service and MOT was carried out at 47054 then the garage drove her back home. A staff member drove the 10 miles or so back to our storage bay and she never missed a beat. Engine is quiet and pulls well, gearbox and clutch are great, brakes work etc etc etc. Electrics are all good but a new battery will be required. The history for this Mini is complete, including its original service book up to 18000 by the selling dealer then Peach Motors a local independent garage the rest of its life. MOTs go back to 2007 and prior to that the receipts show yearly MOT’s carried out along with an annual service, so mileage is totally traceable and correct. Along with the service book is a complete set of hand books, owner’s manuals and a workshop manual. We have decided to present the car “exactly” as discovered so you can judge just exactly how genuine it is. Yes the rear bumper needs to be replaced and there is the odd patch of corrosion here and there. But no damage on the bodywork, the original dealer sticker and number plates are still in place and all the interior needs is a good clean and some fresh carpet in the drivers foot well (heels eh don’t you just love ‘em. Carpets don’t I know!). The choice though is to restore to new or just re-commission and use?? A very rare find and here to sell to the highest bidder.
Mini Mayfair 1000 1987 - Described as a “Bonny little car that makes you smile when you drive it!” When you drive a Mini, even a bad one which this one certainly isn’t, you can understand just what the vendor means. Why the Mini is loved throughout the world and is probably the most recognised car ever built. Even BL in their darkest hours could not kill it, just “EU” impact laws finally killing it off! This nice “Mayfair” Edition has the 998cc motor and manual gearbox, giving crisp performance and the better more “Up-Market” interior complete with nicer seat trim and wooden dash. The vendor bought the car as a bit of a project for himself, running and good on the body but needing things like a new rear sub frame and as he says “A good overhaul”. This has all now been done by him and there is a current MOT through to January next year. The mileage is showing as 57K but the car came with no history so no guarantee that as correct, but the condition of things like the interior trim, which is all good, would suggest this could be correct. The engine and gearbox are both very good and again could point to the low miles showing. Exterior is very good and helping with this are a nice set of period alloy wheels that have been fitted instead of the standard wheels the Mayfair came with. Paintwork is shiny and all the bright work is good.Mechanically and electrics are now good, with any problems recently being addressed for its MOT. This is a good example of a sought after car that is ready to go and make a new owner smile.
Chrysler Crossfire 6 Speed Manual 2004 - With a very short production run of only 4 years coupled to their “retro” styling the Chrysler Crossfire was destined to become a modern day classic from the day the first car rolled off the production line in 2004. Developed during the union of Daimler and Chrysler, this stunning two-seater is based on the R170 platform and shares 80% of its components with the R170 Mercedes-Benz SLK320 and they were built by “Karmann” in Germany. This particular car was registered new in July 2004 so is a first year of production car and one of only 4000 RHD versions of this model that were built over the 4 years. Presented in a deep black gloss with matching leather interior, the exterior is very good and is complimented by recently refurbished silver coloured alloy wheels shod with new tyres ( total cost £800). Inside is lovely with no damage to the leather and “fully Loaded” with air con (recently recharged) etc as all Crossfires are.Under the bonnet sits a 215 HP version of Mercedes 3.2 L, 18-valve, SOHC V6 engine which when complimented with their slick 6 Speed manual gearbox, guarantees shall we say “brisk” performance but excellent fuel economy. In fact the vendor recently completed a 2500 mile continental driving tour during which the car was subjected to a complete cross-section of driving conditions (enough to say the speed operated rear spoiler was fully extended on more than one occasion) and it returned an average of 35.5 Miles per Gallon. Stated as driving faultlessly with no warning lamps lit on the dash. Note: The Traction control lamp appears to be on in the picture, it is not, it lights up brighter if you turn it off or if there is a fault, that is it in the normal mode. These cars are ridiculously low priced at the moment, you cannot buy a half decent used saloon car from the Far East for the sort of money they sell for! This will change, prices for good cars in good colours are now rising and a car in this condition/colour combination with only 96K on the clock and a full service history (last stamp shows 93K) will always be sought after.Currently MOT’d until May 2017 the vendor will put a new MOT on prior to the auction. His personal plate will be removed so it will be back on its age related plate by then as well.
Autobianchi Bianchina “Panoramica” 1959 - Incredibly rare especially in such original condition is this cute Fiat powered Autobianchi Bianchina “Panoramica” or “Estate” as we know it. Over the years while still in Italy, some minor renovations have taken place to the exterior but it is still substantially all original with no rust or dents. The paintwork itself has a good shine and no major imperfections. Have a look inside and you will see an original interior that is in very good order especially when you consider its 58 years old!!The engine runs sweetly with no known faults and has recently been serviced here in the UK. Surprisingly the Fiat 500 engine these cars use, pulls it along down the road quite happily and the gearbox operates smoothly, all be it with no synchromesh between the gears as standard. All the electrics and general mechanics on the car are good with new tyres and brakes being recently fitted. Being a 1959 car there is no road tax to pay and no MOT required but this car has been checked over to bring it up to a safe standard to use. So if you are looking for a collectable car that you can use and one that you will not see another of if you go to a show, then this one has got to be considered.
Fiat 124 Spider 1982 - Having been owned and maintained regardless of cost by the same gent for the last 31 years, this is a gorgeous example of one of the prettiest Fiats produced, the Pininfarina designed “124 Spider”.Presented in its original Rosso red with tan interior and hood, this colour combination is one of the best available. Its owner has had the paint refreshed once in his ownership, the one and only time this has been done as the paint was fully original prior to but was just beginning to fade. Today it shines beautifully after years of high quality polish being routinely applied. The tan interior and hood are both very good with no damage and precious little wear in evidence. All the clocks and electrics function correctly and the doors shut with a satisfying “clunk”.With only 54000 miles on the clock and with all the old MOT’s to back this up, the engine is as crisp as the day it was fitted and this car, being a last year of production unit, not only has the 1995cc version of Fiats famous Lampredi designed “Twin-cam” motor but it also benefits from Bosch fuel injection so giving it well over 100BHP. More than enough to give you a change to enjoy the superb chassis down the twisty bits.Although as you can see, the original bumpers have been removed and the original steel wheels replaced with the correct period alloys, these are all available from the owner and are in good order, purely removed to enhance the aesthetics of the car in his mind(and ours). The alloys are shod with matching Michelin tyres. Along with these parts comes all of the old MOT’s and Tax discs plus the hard to find, original tool kit.You will look long and hard for a car with this pedigree, yes you might find a cheaper one but not a rust free car like this and certainly not in this condition. The reserve that has been set is a realistic one and a small price for a red Italian convertible styled by a top Italian styling house that will only increase in value.NOTE: The personal plate shown in the pictures will be removed at point of sale and does not form any part of the transaction.
Stunning! This is how this 1972 VW Beetle is described. When the owner at the time set out to restore his car back to better than new condition, little did he think it would take so long or cost so much but when you carry out a full body off, nut and bolt restoration on a car, this is what happens!Completed 4 years ago now, the results of all this work are evident to any one that looks. Starting with a low mileage car that had been owned by the same family for years. This Bug was stripped to its bare bones, any and all signs of rust, corrosion or wear were removed, where necessary using genuine repair panels. The 1600cc engine was fully reconditioned and stainless steel fixings were used throughout the rebuild of the shell and chassis. Only the best quality paint was used on the body shell with many more coats laid on than Volkswagen originally used. The interior was completely replaced using new items and according to the vendor even “smells” new, rather than that musty smell old Beetles tend to have. He also says to not forget to look underneath the car as the underside gleams as well as the top!Described mechanically as driving like a new car and sounding great, the 1600 cc engine whips it along the road briskly while the reconditioned gearbox and new clutch operate perfectly. With every aspect of this car being described as “Excellent” this car is a definite candidate “Best in Class or Show”. No it’s not a cheap Beetle, quality never is, but it is probably one of the best available on the market today!
Porsche 356 Speedster Legend Replica 1970 - With its stunning Speedster shape from the 50’s is this Legend 356. One of the nicest replica cars we have seen.Finished in Porsche Bright Silver metallic bodywork, a new Mohair hood, period chrome wheels shod with Firestone F560 tyres, period bucket seats in matching grey with red piping and complete with full wet weather side windows.Equipped with a 1600cc Air-cooled engine fitted with twin carbs, this car is fun to drive especially with its very strong and rigid “Legend” chassis, it will encourage you to take the long way home. Roof down, sun out who wants to be screaming along a motorway any way??Having been in storage for the past 5 years the vendor has recently had it recommissioned ready for sale including: New battery, front brake callipers and pads, front bearings and gear linkage bush. The engine was rebuilt with replacement barrels and pistons, new gaskets and seals and a new clutch slave cylinder was fitted. The car comes with an mot and is ready to enjoyIn our opinion, one of the nicest things about this 356 replica is it has its own genuine patina to the body and interior which makes it look and feel authentic. Not to be confused with a lot of the inferior replica’s on offer today.NOTE: With the constant attention the current owner lavishes on this car he has bought it to our attention that he has now fitted genuine and working Porsche 356 Interior door handles since the pictures were taken.
Ford F250 Custom “Camper Special” 1978 V8 Auto - This lovely, rust free,1978 Ford 250 Custom “Camper Special” Fleet Side truck is equipped with Fords venerable 351M V8 Petrol motor and automatic transmission, which gives it superb low down pulling power but easy cruising capabilities out on the open road. The engine fires up on the button and soon settles to an even tick over. The vendor has up-rated the fuel delivery with the fitting of a “Facet” electric pump running through a “Filter King” filter before it gets to the carb and backed this up with an additional safety feature of a fuel cut out system in case of an accident, complete with a re-set button under the bonnet.Being a Camper Special it has heavy duty suspension, heavy duty brakes with “twin pot” callipers up front and large drums on the back, plus twin long distance fuel tanks. All of which are reported to be in excellent running order. Both front tyres and the spare have recently been replaced with the correct spec tyres, rears are very good.Body work is very good, straight and polishes well with the additional bright work etc you get on a “Custom” spec truck being present and nothing missing. Unusually both bumpers are in good order including the heavy duty rear one. Any lights etc that may of needed replacing have been while in the current ownership. Underneath you will find that it has been professionally undersealed to protect it from salt etc and again is in excellent order. With the truck is also the loading bed’s tonneau cover and rubber floor liner, plus a removable tow hitch and full caravan electrics through the standard 13 pin socket.Inside is more of the same, everything very nice with no splits in the dash or damage to the seats or door cards, in fact exceptional for what is after all a truck that the vendor does use, not just show off at the weekends! (Sorry for the bits of straw on the carpet in the pictures but that was my fault as not mastered the art of walking on grass without making a mess). So if you want a standard truck in excellent condition that drives well and is “turnkey” ready to use, this Ford really must be considered. Offered at a reserve which we judge to be very fair and at a price you could not buy and import a truck of this quality from the States today, in fact why would you bother or even take the risk??
MGB GT 1979 Manual with Overdrive - This nice and unusual in white, MGB GT was last used when it participated a European road Rally which it completed without a problem, then on its return home it was parked in a garage which is where it has been since 2008.Overall the body work is very good, nice and straight with only minor areas that could be improved on and in no way to be mixed up with the rusty hulks often offered for sale. Its solid condition you would think, is due in the main by the anti-rust treatment this car has had, the presence of anti-rust treatment plugs in the holes they drill to fill the chassis doors etc with treatment proving this. It is equipped with a rare Webasto slide back vinyl roof which does have two small splits, one each side where it folds, but is still serviceable and looks to be the original.Interior is good with the original seat covers in place. There are no nasty rips etc but there are some marks from where items had been stored in the car, these may clean. Roof lining is very good, as is the dash that has no damage at all, the floor carpets are good as well. Mileage on the clock reads 85387 and looks like it could be original, but with no history there is no proof of this. There is however, a very nice “Moto-Lita” steering wheel in place. This was fitted prior to the European trip and that is the only use it has had.Mechanically the engine and box are both good, with the engine showing very good oil pressure even when hot. The general mechanics are good with brakes etc working and all the electrics function properly. To sum up, this is not a show car but one you can use and improve as you go, or just leave it alone and just enjoy owning one of Britain’s favourite and much loved classic cars. With prices on these “Rubber Bumper” models now heavily on the up, it’s refreshing to have a running driving solid car being offered at a sensible reserve.
Porsche “Junior” Tractor 1959 - This superb 1959 Porsche Tractor is guaranteed to make you smile, whether you are an avid collector of agricultural machinery, a lover of old cars or a 10 year old lad or lass holding its parents hand at our auction. Come on its cute admit it!Porsche like fellow supercar maker Lamborghini, owe their heritage to much humbler beginnings. Dr Ferdinand Porsche started tractor design and production in the early 30’s, his remit was to produce a range of tractors that were very advanced but would be “The Peoples Tractor”, solid, reliable and easy to maintain, sound familiar? This example is a 1959 “Junior” with a single cylinder diesel engine, complete with hand throttle and brake, rear power output, sprung drivers seat and electric start. This tractor has not been restored and in fact was in use up to a couple of years ago. Press the key in, give it some throttle, push the start button and off it goes, well chugs. All three forward and the reverse gear engage correctly, the brakes work very well, but the tyres, especially the front ones, look like they have been on since 1959 and desperately need changing, but all hold pressure. The front lights work but the rear ones are missing their lenses. The body work is excellent and the common consensus of opinion is it would almost be a shame to destroy its “patina” after surviving for so long untouched but yes, if you want a show piece then it does need to be painted.A rare tractor and one that continues our reputation of finding rare vehicles. It is road registered but the registration would need to be reapplied for with DVLA if you want to drive it on the road as there is currently no V5 with the tractor.Note: Light enough to be transported on a van sized transporter.
Citroen Traction Avant Long wheel Base 1952 - This lovely 1952 Citroen Traction has recently been imported from near Bordeaux in France from where the vendor completed a trouble free drive. As such you can understand it when he describes the general mechanics, engine and gearbox as all good.Having been in the long term ownership of the local taxi company’s owner during which time he completed a restoration including a rebuilt engine, which has covered apx 500 miles since. Work on the body and interior was completed a few years back and is still in very good condition, with some of the non-replaced trims showing a lovely patina of age.Although not required the car has had a UK Mot carried out and comes with all its correct French papers and a “Nova” certificate, so is ready to be registered if sold to a UK buyer. ECCA are happy to guide the new owner through the process or for a small fee, do it for them.Offered by the vendor with a realistic reserve and hard to find in this condition, ready to go, in this price bracket.
Daimler 2.5 V8 1966 - Now with us is this very pretty example of Daimler’s 250 V8 which was first registered in September of 1966. There is just something about the way these car sit with their distinctive Daimler fluted grille and rear number plate surrounds, distinctive wheel trims and badges accentuating the MK2 Jaguar lines these cars were based on. While still having the larger bumpers and over riders the 67 to 69 “250”version lost gives the appearance of a lower stance on the road. The body work on this car was restored a few years back now and while still very presentable there are one or two areas that could do with addressing if you wanted a show car (minor bubles under the paint along the boot trailing edge being the worse of it). All the chrome is nice and original with just the front screen chrome insert missing? There is the restorer’s plaque in place on the driver’s door sill. The Daimler V8 engine under the bonnet fires instantly and shows very good oil pressure and is very tidy, nicely original.Interior wise all is good with what looks to be the original leather, a little dry in places but nothing a good feed would not cure. The wood door capping’s and dash are nice and all the interior fixtures and fittings are present. Instrumentation on the dash is very nice with a “period” radio correctly fitted.Although last MOT’d up to March 2016 the car has stood for a while so a small amount of recommissioning will be in order but we can confirm the gearbox selects gears and the brakes work as we have driven it a short distance ourselves. At the moment the windscreen wipers do not operate though nor does the horn. Small details and something to give you an excuse to “tinker” with in the garage. These short fallings on what otherwise is a striking car are more than reflected in the vendors expectations of value and hence the low estimated value that has been given.
Jaguar XJ12 “Low Mileage” 1993 - For many years these incredibly rare “Biggest of the Big Cats” were much maligned and as such values slumped to where they were classed as fit for “banger duty”. Finally the market has started to wake up to just how good these cars are and as such values are now climbing. Un-molested low mileage examples like this entry are now hard to find with only 19 left registered for road use in the UK. Produced in the then current XJ40 shell for less than two years, the XJ12 version or XJ81 was powered by the largest CC derivative of Jaguars super smooth V12, a 5993cc monster that was quoted at 318 Horse Power, enough for a claimed 150 MPH!This particular car is offered for sale by the last owner’s son. His father owned the car from 2006, always maintaining the car and although not warranted the very low mileage shown of only 87000 is believed to be correct and backed up by various old mot’s and services. Prior to his father owning the car, between 2002 and 2006 the history shows it only covered 1000 miles. It was last serviced and MOT’d in October 2016 and has hardly turned a wheel since. This is not a pristine restored car, what it is though is a genuine car. Its rear arches do have signs of bubbling below the paint, there is a small scuff on one front wing and minor damage to a rear bumper corner ie exactly as his dad left it. Interior wise it’s more of the same, no real damage to the luxury leather and Rosewood interior (this was an option standard was cloth), some marks here, the odd scuff there but unusually no wear through on the driver’s seat bolsters and still a lovely cabin to spend time in. Electrically things are all fine with just a problem with the heater blower, it apparently works but only blows cold.Overall the running gear is stated as very good, engine gearbox etc are also good. So with the current MOT, tax it and use it. If you have not experienced a Jaguar V12 you owe it to yourself to do so and believe us when we say these Jags will never be this cheap again.
Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe Sport 1988 - Needing no introduction this lovely Porsche 911 is in very good condition, its body having received a repaint at some point and now having no more than a couple of minor faults. There is just something so evocative about this shape with its large rear spoiler and low stance. This particular car has “RS Style” colour matched front and rear bumpers but the vendor has the originals if preferred and these will be included in the sale at no extra cost ( collection to be arranged separately), these along with the Fuch alloy wheels add to the overall look of the car.Interior condition is good with the two tone leather bucket seats in good order. If being really critical (which the vendor is) the carpets are showing signs of wear and if he were keeping it he personally would replace them, but they are still very serviceable. The rear seat back rest pads, for what they are worth, are missing. Not that you can get in the back unless you are a “small” person.Mechanically it is all good news. With only an average 159K on the clock and a full Porsche and Porsche Specialist history up to 105K , then more stamps at 157K , the 3.2 Litre engine in the back still “pulls like a train” and puts a grin on your face every time you get he chance to use it “properly”. No need to rev the hell out of it, just loads of “grunt” in all the gears and that engine noise peculiar to Porsche’s famous Flat 6 engine. All helped by this being a late model car so has the later “G50” 5 speed box , so giving a more precise gear change. The vendor does bring to our attention that all electrics including the front seat adjustment and electric roof etc work but at the moment the electric adjustment on the mirrors has stopped functioning “O” and for the purists, they are actually later 993 Mirrors. He would not be selling the car, but having only covered 2000 miles in the 3 years he has owned it and it sits blocking up the garage, the wife and kids have won the argument and its time for someone else to enjoy the car.It comes with the history already mentioned, a file of receipts and invoices and is currently MOT’d until May 2017. Offered with a very reasonable reserve so making it a rare opportunity to buy one of Porsche’s finest that’s ready to go at an affordable price.NOTE: The vendor has said he will be getting an oil and filter change, plus a check over, prior to selling the car to be sure all is good for the next owner.
BMW M3 Convertible 1995 - Having recently been cosmetically refurbished, including a new convertible hood and its alloy wheels restored then fitted with new tyres. This 3litre 5 Speed manual 1995 BMW “M3” not only looks excellent but has the sort of performance that shames many modern day performance cars.Showing 100,791 on the odometer and coming with a full service history to back that up. It has MOTs dating back to 2003 when mileage was recorded as 63,004 so has only covered an average of just over 2500 miles a year in the last 14 years.Body work is finished in the rare “Daytona Violet” colour while the leather interior is in black, a nice colour combination that is very popular. Both exterior and interior are described as “Perfect, no rust, scratches or marks”, marking this particular BM out from the usual cars on offer. This is not an old thing that has been abused to within an inch of its life, received a lick of paint then sold on, but a car that has been used and enjoyed but looked after properly throughout.Under the bonnet is where the magic is, BMW’s legendary 3 Litre straight 6 engine giving 285 horses of smooth power, coupled to a 5 speed manual gearbox with ratios that give instant pull down low but effortless cruising in the higher gears. These really are a driver’s car and like anything carrying the legendary “M” designation is very sought after in the market today. Prices of even the poorer condition cars go up month on month, as good examples such as this car, become harder and harder to find. If you are looking for a good investment in a classic car, but one you can use as well, this BMW E36 M3 just might be the car you are looking for. Currently MOT’d through to August 2017 so ready to be enjoyed by a new owner.
Mercedes CLK230 “Kompressor” 1998 - With only 58500 miles on the clock and a full service history, this 2 previous owner Mercedes CLK230 “Elegance Kompressor” is in unusually good condition and should not be confused with the standard fare on offer today. Its common knowledge that from 1999 onwards, Mercedes reduced the quality and depth of their paintwork and so the bodyworks ability to stand up to corrosion was likewise reduced. Being an 1998, this cars condition bears testament to this with little or no rust to talk of, just the smallest bubbles under the paint at the base of the front wheel arches commensurate with any nigh on 20 year old car that has not had any paintwork.Interior is very nice with no damage to the seats etc. Unusual in the pale blue/grey cloth, this complements the silver exterior and gives a light and airy feel when seated inside. Being the “Elegance” it comes with all the usual options, air con (untested, blows cold but it was minus one outside when tested so it would do!), electric windows, remote folding rear head rests, remote central locking, electric mirrors, remote boot release, ABS, Traction control etc etc and has a nice older but quality stereo head unit. All of which appear to work. The “Super-charged” version of Mercedes 2.3 litre engine is a little gem, very smooth and economical when wanted in town etc but with instant “oomph” when required, especially with the automatic gear box switched to semi-auto it really does give good performance, cruising with ease at motorway speeds (or Autobahn speeds if in Germany). All aspects of this car are given as very good with recently fitted new rear Michelins tyres matching the fronts and a new Mercedes battery. Currently MOT’d till April there will be a new MOT carried out prior to the Auction.Only now on sale due to loss of licence for medical reasons, this lovely Mercedes coupe just has to be brilliant value at the reserve price that has been set.
Dayton Albatross 250cc Scooter 1958 - Like a sketch from Monty Pythons the voice on the phone said “ I would like to put my Albatross in your Auction” Ok I said, thinking the obvious that April 1st had come early but no the vendors wife meant an incredibly rare British built scooter from the 50’s a 1958 “Dayton Albatross”. Now after 40 years or so of dealing with motorcycles and scooters this was a new one on us! This particular bike was registered to the supplying dealer 01.04.1958 (see April fool’s day!!) Then sold to a Gent from Chelmsford on the same day. He used it through to 1984 when he laid it up and never used it again. In the history are old MOTs these show mileage when tested in 84 as 37,774, it now has 38540 on the clock, so not many miles had passed after the MOT. Eventually it was sold to the vendor’s husband, also from Chelmsford in 2003, who was determined to get it back on the road and use it. Unfortunately nature struck and this never happened so another 14 years later and it is being offered here. The bike has actually survived miraculously well, it must have been stored correctly for the 33 years it was hidden away. It has that lovely patina all over, nothing nasty just un-molested and original 59 year old metal and paint! The non-standard seat cover is exactly that an elasticated over cover that has been on there for a very long time. We have lifted it and had a look, the original seat cover is there buy damaged on the sides where your legs would rub in use. The 250cc Villiers twin engine is not locked up and rotates easily with the kick start, but obviously will need to be looked at prior to trying to start it. The brakes operate and the bike wheels freely. When we lowered the side engine inspection panels there is evidence of grease on the inside of them, leading us to believe this was done to stop rust. Well it worked as it all looks good in there. The bike is one hundred percent complete and apart from the handle bar brake/clutch levers looks to be original. The original screen complete with vintage AA badge is with it but not fitted as are the original handbooks and even the original bill of sale and warranty certificates!! Plus old tax discs MOTs. This is probably a once in a lifetime chance to own one of these Scooters, especially one with this peerage and what a perfect candidate for either a restoration or keep as is and just get it back on the road. Remember “It is only original once”. We will not be cleaning it just presenting it exactly as it was when we collected it.
