An interesting and scarce Falklands War Vulcan Bomber souvenir mounted engine part, with letter of provenance. Salvaged from the decommissioned Vulcan XM 607, which took part in a long range bombing run at Port Stanley runway on May 1st 1982. Manufactured in aluminium, mounted on an oak base, with an applied gilt metal and enamel RAF Waddington badge to one side. Complete with original Royal Air Force Waddington letter, dated February 14th 1983, and signed by Flt Lt I P Woodhouse OC ASF, certifying that the piece is a component taken from the Rolls Royce Bristol Olympus engine MK 30101, serial number 650414, which powered the Vulcan XM 607 aircraft that put Port Stanley runway out of action during the Falklands campaign. Notes: XM607 was completed on December 30th 1963, and was delivered to 35 Squadron the following year. The aircraft took part in Operation Black Buck (as part of 44 Squadron), flying in the first, second, and 7th raids on the occupying Argentinian forces at Port Stanley. XM607 had due to be the reserve or back up aircraft for the first raid, but a technical fault with the first choice XM598 (failure in cabin pressure), meant that XM607 carried out the first raid, commanded by Flt Lt Martin Withers. The 9 hour non stop flight involved two mid air refuels from Victor Tanker planes. The aircraft was retired in December 1982, and by January 1983 it was displayed as a gate guardian at RAF Waddington. It’s known that the aircraft has been used sporadically as a parts donor for more airworthy Vulcan over the years, and it’s likely that this part was an early piece of salvage. Approximately 13.5cm height, base size 10.5cm x 7cm. Condition: generally good. A little surface wear and patination to the aluminium in places for use. The base is in good condition, some small areas of enamel loss to the applied badge.

1968 BSA Bantam D14 Classic British Motorcycle The introduction of the 172cc D10 model in 1966 marked a number of important technical developments for the ever-popular Bantam, the most important of which were a change to coil ignition and the adoption of a four-speed gearbox, while a raised compression ratio and bigger carburettor increased maximum power to 10bhp and the top speed to 62mph. Introduced for 1968, the successor D14 Bantam boasted a more powerful engine producing 12.6bhp, while the Sports and Bushman versions featured new heavy-duty front forks. This D14 was acquired by the current vendor and then partially recommissioned (engine and frame). The bike is sold for restoration with current V5 Logbook.
