An Austrian gilt 'picture frame' wall clock, early 19th century, the rectangular gong striking movement with circular engine-turned brass dial centre within applied Roman numeral chapter ring and milled bezel, the case with acanthus moulded surround to dial and laurel wreath decorated spandrels over scroll-bordered pendulum aperture within rectangular egg-and dart bordered convex surround behind a glazed door, the exterior now with surmount carved as an eagle perched on a ring, 61cm (24in) high overall.

A series one Land Rover with V8 engine PSL 446, first registered 1/3/1958, 3500 CC, petrol, chassis no 1118000707, registered as blue but now Coniston green. The Land Rover has a previously reconditioned V8 Rover engine. The Chassis and bulkhead have previous work / welding, interior lacking original seats and steering wheel, replaced steel dash. Remodelled wheel arches. Other work undertaken was: overhauled front axle and steering swivels, rear brakes with new cylinders and shoes, LWB rear drums fitted to front axle and exhaust fitted. Other works have been carried out. Purchased by the vendor on 20/10/2005 and driven to Shropshire from Scotland. The vehicle was running, however, it has been sitting idle for approx 10 years. With V5C registration document, copy of previous V5 and old MOT certificated and garage bills. A series 2A Land Rover BBL 169B, first registered 14/5/1964, 88 inch 4 cylinder engine, petrol, chassis no 24114533B. The vendor believes the vehicle to have a later type 5 bearing petrol engine with hardened valve seats so that it runs on unleaded petrol. New clutch fitted at the time of change and fitted with a Kenlowe fan. Parabolic springs and Pro Comp Explorer shock absorbers. Later seats and steering wheel which are none standard. The Land Rover was running ok but has been parked up for a few years. It has been started now and again with the crank. Sold with V5C registration document, some MOT's and bills. Accompanying the vehicle is a large set of wheels. Worksplate Ruston Proctor & Co Lincoln England no 28921. According to the Ruston Proctor order book No. 28921 was a 10" x 16" compound fixed steam engine, sold to “S.I.M.R.” in Italy on 17 September 1904. Nothing more is known of its history. Oval brass, curved to fit boiler 8in x 4.5in, ex loco condition.
Worksplate John Fowler & Co Leeds No 14975. Ex Ministry of Munitions who ordered from Fowlers works numbers 14908 to 14982 in 1917 for WW1.The class of 14975 was TE2,a compound Road Locomotive(or Traction Engine) with horizontal winding drum and overhead slide valves, and supplied new to the War Dept Forage Dept. After the War in March,1920, it passed to Edgar G Edgar of High Street, Kensington who had an agreement with the Disposals Commission to take all equipment etc. from the Forage Dept, though apparently he reneged on a lot of the equipment as they were repossessed by the WD, but not 14975.In 1921 the engine was owned by either the Cole Brothers or E A Foley, info not available. Registration number CT 4849 then passed at an unknown date to A M Carmichael of Corstophine, Edinburgh, and it is thought scrapped in Scotland at an unknown date. There are 7 preserved of this type of engine, all from the batch supplied to the WD around 1917/18,including one at Hay on Wye, two converted to Showman's Spec and one in Germany. Oval brass, curved to fit boiler 9.75in x 5in ex engine condition.
Nameplate SILKSTONE ex Industrial Locomotive. Standard Gauge 0-4-0ST built by the Hunslet Engine Co No. 1163/1914 new to Pope & Pearson Ltd., West Riding Colliery, Altofts, and to the National Coal Board with site on 1 January 1947. Scrapped sometime between April and September 1962. Rectangular brass 33in x 7in, ex loco condition.
Worksplate The Hunslet Engine Co Ltd Leeds 204HP No 4869 dated 1956. Oval brass 11.5in x 8in, face restored long ago. Ex Standard Gauge British Railways’ Class 05 0-6-0 Diesel Mechanical 11139 later D2553 New to Ipswich and then at various times a resident of Norwich, Lowestoft, Ipswich again and Parkeston Quay before ending its days at Speke Junction. Withdrawn in January 1968 and cut up by C.F.Booth at Rotherham in the following June.
A scratch-built 1" scale Model of a Traction Engine, not fired since restoration, the boiler for spirit/gas firing driving a double-acting single cylinder with reversing gear and traction-engagement mechanism. An under-mounted water tank is installed replenishing the boiler water level via an eccentric-driven pump. The boiler has a pressure relief safety valve, a sight glass tube water level indicator, a pressure indicator gauge and a whistle. No boiler safety certificate is available but included with the model is a compact, electrically driven low pressure compressor for dry demonstration purposes. The dimensions of the model are length 20 1/2", height 16 3/8", width 8 5/8", dry weight 8.81 kgs (19 lbs 5 oz) approx.
