dating: 1942 provenance: Great Britain, Jeep MB Ford USA, produced in 1942, with Willys engine. S.A.S. Battle Jeep installation has been faithfully reconstructed based on vintage photos and includes: sand-color painting, simulacrum, not functioning of the Vickers K machine gun, coupled in the bonnet, simulacrum, not functioning of the Vickers K machine gun, placed on the driver's side, sentry column and support saddle for Browning 1919 anti-aircraft machine gun (not present), five gasoline tanks on the bonnet, on the front bumper a tank joined to the radiator to recover boiling water, eight gasoline tanks in the back part of the vehicle. Other equipment: gun holder, support for radio antenna, two spare wheels, anti-cover-up grate, standard shovel and axe, oil and water tank and some bags.Other included accessories: four wheels with new, factory tires, kit for other Jeep type 'Follow ME' (tarpaulin, windshield, bonnet, flag holders and flags). Functioning Jeep, registered as a truck. Complete with ASI plate 'Oro' (for the fidelity of historical reconstruction). dimensions 333 x 160 cm.

FASANO An Italian 18ct yellow gold and enamel compact / box of flattened oval form, the body beautifully enamelled with pearlescent white enamel over an engine turned guilloche background, with bands of blue enamel decoration at the ends. With a jewelled diamond thumbpiece and mirror and powder tray inside. Diameter 8.7cm. Weight 203g.
WATT JAMES: (1736-1819) Scottish Inventor & Mechanical Engineer. An exceptional A.L.S., `James Watt´, one page, 4to, Birmingham, 5th September 1784, to Joah Bates, Victualling Office´. A letter of very interesting content, Watts stating in part `Having received from Mr. Brown the daily advertiser containing the address of the Millers committee in which I observe they have given me more honour than what I think belongs to me, and seem to direct their whole argument to the overthrowing [of] our patent, on the supposition we have communicated our exclusive privilege to the Company.´ Watt further expresses his deep concerns saying `I have thought it necessary to remove that imputation by a public advertisement in the same paper, as we should be ruined could any legal advantage be got by them in that matter, and I cannot suppose that any of the Gentlemen concerned could wish us to be injured by our endeavours to advance the interests of the concern…´ Further again, Watt concludes stating `..I am by no means satisfied with the draught yet & and do not wish it to be published until I write again..´ With blank address leaf in the hand of Watt. Small overall, minor age wear, with few extremely small stains, otherwise VG £8000-12000Joah Bates (1741-1799) A highly regarded Musician who helped to finance London´s Albion Mills, the first grist mill to utilize James Watt´s improved steam engine. The construction of the mill was completed in 1786 and employed Watt´s double-acing steam engine.

Signed postcard photograph, `Henry Dumas´, 5th July 1911; Gabriel Garnier (1880-1913) Dead when his airplane crashed when landing. Signed postcard photograph, `Gabriel Garnier´, 18th April 1913, the image depicting Garnier on board a Borel monoplane; Abel Grazzioli (1882-1915) A French hero of the civil aviation, dead when testing a Vendôme prototype for the army. Signed postcard photograph `Grazzioli´, the image depicting a Blériot airplane; Silvio Pettirosi (1887-1916) Well-remembered and best-known Paraguayan Aviator, WWI Fighter. Dead when performing a looping at the age of 29. Signed card photograph, `Silvio Pettirosi´, 1914. Jean Rose (18 ?-1918) Killed accidentally when returning from an inspection military flight. Signed card, 30th June 1917, in French. Entitled `Lieutenant Rose, pilot-aviator, squadron 504 Orient Army´. Rose refers to Pierre Olgiati death and reports on the accident `he died at the Salonique bay. An engine breakdown. He tried to land but slipped and drowned..´ Georges Verminck (1886-1913) Killed at Phnom-Penh at the age of 27. Signed postcard photograph, 18th March 1913, only three weeks before passing away, to Jacques Mortane (1883-1939) author of aviation works and journalist. Verminck refers to his flights and arrival to Djibouti and soon in Colombo. Also including several contemporary unsigned postcard photographs related to the pioneer aviators. VG, 6 £200-300Provenance Emile Lasalle collection. Author of the work `Les 100 premiers aviateurs brevetés au monde et la naissance de l'aviation.´ (“The first 100 worldwide entitled Aviators and the birth of Aviation”). A contemporary colleague of many aviators, disabled and much appreciated, author of several aviators biographies.
