1961 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II Saloon, Registration 539 HYU, Chassis SVB 401. Mileage 23,400 miles approx (probably 123,400 miles). In long-term ownership and well-maintained condition. V8 6.2 litre engine, automatic transmission with power steering and electric windows. This very elegant Silver Cloud is finished in its original colour scheme of Rolls-Royce Sand over Tudor Grey with grey hide upholstery and grey carpets. It was purchased by the Late Mr John Clough in 1981 the car having only had two previous recorded keepers. John had the car totally re-painted and the engine, gearbox and back axle re-built by a local Rolls-Royce specialist. He regularly serviced the car under the supervision of a retired specialist and maintained it regardless of cost. Its overall condition appears to be very good with some minor cosmetics required to the wing stay areas of the front wheel arches. The excellent condition of the under-bonnet area is a testament to the care and attention lavished upon this car. It is supplied with a V5, history file with old MOTs going back to the 1980s, copies of the original build sheets and related paperwork and all tools. It has a new MOT until May 2024 but it would be advisable to have it checked over and serviced before too long as it has had little use in recent times. The late Mr John Clough was a true Rolls-Royce enthusiast having been Chairman of the Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts Club and of The Sir Henry Royce Foundation. A man of considerable charm and aptitude he was very well respected and liked and the condition of his cars reflect his fondness for them. Over the years they have won numerous prizes and attended many rallies and tours which brought him and his family much pleasure. (Subject to 12% buyers premium inclusive of VAT).
1961 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II Long Wheel Base Saloon without division by Parkward & Co, London, believed one of only 6 built. Registration 120HYT, Chassis LCB 75, V8 6.2 litre engine, automatic transmission, power steering and electric windows. Indicated mileage 98,572 approx (possibly genuine). This rare and very elegant Rolls-Royce has been left to the Sir Henry Royce Memorial Foundation and is being sold without reserve. It is finished in shell grey with cream hide upholstery and beige carpets. The long wheelbase body has an extra 4" in length, giving the rear passengers plenty of extra leg room and cost approx 30% more than the standard saloon at around £7,000 new. It has a retro-fitted illuminated cocktail cabinet with flasks and glasses behind the rear seat armrest and an ice box inset into the rear parcel shelf. It is complete with all its tools and was last serviced by D. Moore Rolls-Royce Specialists in November 2021 at a cost of £3,067 and hasn't done any miles since. An honest, solid and very presentable example which is running and driving and would be ideal to use and improve. It is supplied with V5, a history file with service bills going back to the 1980s, all its tools, a written inspection report carried out in 2020 and a handbook. (Subject to 12% buyers premium inclusive of VAT).
1956 Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith Long Wheel Base Limousine by Parkward & Co, London made for H.M. Ambassador in Khartoum and latterly owned H.H. Sheikh Al-Ahmad Al Jaber Al- Sabah the former Prime Minister of Kuwait. Registration 833 XVX, Chassis ELW78. Six-cylinder 4.9 litre straight six engine with automatic transmission, power steering and servo-assisted brakes. This rare coach-built limousine has its original cream over light brown colour scheme with tinted windows and white wall tyres designed to reflect the intense heat of the Sudanese sun which would have boiled the occupants of the more usual black Government cars. It has many special features including two roof-mounted electric fans with leather blades ( for safety), a cocktail cabinet, a wireless mounted in a cabinet, jump seats, reading lights, and an electric division. After being used by Sir Edwin Chapman-Andrews KCMG, OBE (1903-1980) the British Ambassador in the Sudan it eventually made its way to America and thence returned to the Far-East when it was bought by the Sheikh and former Prime Minister of Kuwait for his famously large car collection where it resided in the underground car park under his Palace. Late last year it came back to these shores when our vendor purchased it, UK registered it and re-commissioned it for the road. It is a car of huge presence and of the very highest quality. The paintwork is mellow in areas but very presentable whilst the interior is generally in excellent condition with brown hide to the front and cream hide to the rear. The beautiful veneered cabinet work is a joy to behold and the car now drives very well. A full list of the re-commissioning is available to view. The indicated mileage is approx 12,623 (probably 112,623) miles. It is sold with V5, copies of original build sheets, various research and related documents. (Subject to 12% buyers premium inclusive of VAT).Good original condition, paintwork is presentable but has some crazing particualy to the wings, some splits and loose areas . The coachwork seems structuraly good with no dropping to the doors which close with a satisfying clunk. The interior is in very good original condition and has many special feature specified on the build sheets which are still present, ie fans, radio, cocktail cabinet etc.Mechanically the car drives well with a smooth gear change and generally quiet engine. It has recently been re- commisioned and the list of work has now been added to the images on our website.
1929 Rolls-Royce Phantom II Limousine by Rippon Brothers, Huddersfield and exhibited at the 1929 Olympia Motor Show. Registration AZ3896, Chassis 20WJ. Six-cylinder 7.7 litre straight six engine with four-speed manual gearbox and retrofitted overdrive. This very handsome Phantom II is attractively finished in its original colour scheme of Black over Ivory with cream upholstery to the rear and black to the front. It has many vintage charms including a V windscreen, ornate silver plated door handles, twin smokers hatches in the roof, sliding division and ingenious folding and swivelling jump seats. It was sold after the motor show to an Irishman from Belfast and was to remain there until 1979 when it returned to the UK. It has been owned since by several enthusiasts and appears to have been generally well-maintained. The current owner garages 'Gracie', as she is affectionately known, along with her other pre-war Rolls at her stately home in Suffolk. During her 12-year ownership 'Gracie' has been enthusiastically driven attending many Rolls-Royce Club events and rallies notably a tour of Portugal in 2017. In recent years she has had considerable sums lavished upon her with the well-known Rolls-Royce specialist Jonathan Wood and others with bills totalling approx. £35,000 to keep her in good and reliable mechanical order. Some sensible modifications have been carried out including the fitting of an overdrive and an electric fuel pump although we are assured it is easily put back to running on its auto vac system should the new owner desire. It is supplied with V5, handbook, dummy cap, some tools and a large history file including the old buff logbook, articles from the 1929 Show and service bills. A very attractive honest vintage car with plenty of power, huge presence and a fascinating history. (Subject to 12% buyers premium inclusive of VAT).
1971 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow Saloon Registration GAM778J (formerly JC8447 retained by the family). Virtually one owner from new (bought by John Clough Esq from Jack Barclays when it was 18 months old). A totally original un-molested example in very good well-maintained condition with approx. 72,000 miles from new. V8 6.75 litre engine, automatic transmission, power steering, air conditioning, electric windows and ariel. This lovely original car is finished in Rolls-Royce Sand over Astrakhan with beige hide and fawn carpets. It was originally supplied to a Mr Charles Ross of Aberdeen ( probably of Ross frozen fish fame) at the cost of £8,784 and was then purchased by John Clough from Jack Barclays in London when it was 18 months old for £10,950 (original bill of sale in file). It has been a cherished car by him and his family until his death earlier this year. It is fair to say that it has been maintained regardless to cost mostly by John under the supervision of a now retired Rolls-Royce specialist. In 2016 the gearbox was professionally overhauled and suspension and steering joints have been replaced over time. It is complete with all its tools, handbooks, old MOTs going back to the 1980s and various service notes and original Jack Barclay invoice and purchase correspondence. The car has a fresh MOT until May 2024 but would benefit from a service and check over before long as it has had little use in recent times. The late Mr John Clough was true Rolls-Royce enthusiast having been Chairman of the Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts Club and of The Sir Henry Royce Foundation. A man of considerable charm and aptitude he was very well respected and liked and the condition of his cars reflect his fondness for them. Over the years they have won numerous prizes and attended many rallies and tours which brought him and his family much pleasure. (Subject to 12% buyers premium inclusive of VAT).
1978 Lotus Esprit 2 door Coupe, 1973cc, manual, reg. no. VJM 900S, chassis number 7610/0194G engine number CC7761013130. Finished in white with original tartan interior and polished Wolfrace Slot Mag wheel this Esprit comes complete in true James Bond "The Spy Who Loved Me" colours. The current owner acquired the car in 2002, and over the next two decades, the Esprit was dry-stored in a barn, meaning the indicated mileage today of 50,108 is believed genuine. The dry storage has also meant the vehicle is in a very good state of preservation, as the photographs of it show. The car comes complete with a well filled history file containing MOTs and paperwork dating back to the 1980s, which also back up the indicated mileage, in addition to this, there is also a current V5, Series I Espirt sales brochure and correspondence relating to the car's appearance in 1998 at an England Monarchs American Football Team show, alongside James Bond's 'Q', actor Desmond Lewellyn. This very good-looking example of a scarce Series I Esprit (believed to be one only around 50 left in the UK) would make a fine project for any Lotus enthusiast. (Subject to 12% buyers premium inclusive of VAT).Good morning, The chassis appears to be sound overall from what we can see, naturally that is just a casual inspection, we have not had the car on a lift to inspect it fully so cannot comment on previous welding etc.The paintwork appears very good overall but I can have a thorough look over it and do a facetime call with you if that may be easier? Re. the engine, we need to have a look at this for several interested parties, so will add the results onto the website in the coming days.Kind Regards,Lewis

David Scott Two overlapping panoramic views of the Hadley landing site from the top hatch of the LM Falcon after touchdown during the only stand up EVA performed on the Moon, Apollo 15, 26 July- 7 August 1971, stand up EVA Vintage gelatin silver prints on fibre-based paper, 25,4 x 20,3 cm (10 x 8 in), with NASA captions on versos, BLACK NUMBERED NASA S-71-44698 and NASA S-71-44702 (NASA Manned Spacecraft Center), (2)Footnotes: two very rare overlapping frames from a 360° panorama showing the exceptional beauty of the Hadley-Apennine landing site with in particular the giant Mount Hadley Delta (4,000 m) and St George Crater on its flank. Following touchdown, Scott and Irwin gave the scientists in Houston a thorough description of the surrounding moonscape and, rather than restricting themselves to the views out the forward-facing windows, they donned helmets and gloves for what was known as a Stand-up EV'. They bled all the air out of the cabin then Scott opened the overhead hatch. Standing on the ascent engine cover with his upper body outside the spacecraft and bracing himself in the opening he took a series of pictures all the way round the horizon with the Hasselblad 70-mm camera.
Buzz Aldrin "Tranquility Base here; the Eagle has landed": shadow of Eagle from the LM after touchdown, rare photograph not published after the mission Apollo 11, 16-24 July 1969 Vintage gelatin silver print on fibre-based paper, 20.3 x 25.4 cm (8 x 10 in), numbered S11-39-5788 in right margin on recto (NASA/USGS)Footnote: A photograph symbolizing the arrival of the first humans on the surface of another world: the Eagle casts a long shadow at Tranquility Base just after touchdown. It is a frame from a panoramic sequence of the landing site from B&W magazine 39/Q taken by Buzz Aldrin from his Pilot LM window with the lunar surface EVA Hasselblad 500 EL Data Camera and its 60mm (focal length) lens. The EVA camera had a reseau plate, so images taken with it show a grid of crosses. While in the LM on the Moon, Armstrong and Aldrin had three photographic magazines: two color magazines 37/R and 40/S; and one B&W magazine 39/S. Frames from this magazine 39/Q were not released by NASA after the mission and are extremely rare..Aldrin: Descent Engine Command Override, Off. Engine Arm, Off. 413 is in. Duke (Mission Control): We copy you down, Eagle. Armstrong: Engine arm is off. Houston, Tranquility Base here. The Eagle has landed. Duke: Roger, Twan...(correcting himself) Tranquility. We copy you on the ground. You got a bunch of guys about to turn blue. We're breathing again. Thanks a lot. Aldrin: Thank you.
William Anders A fantastic almost full view of the Moon seen through the Command Module's window after trans Earth injection, Apollo 8, 21-27 December 1968 Vintage chromogenic print on fibre-based Kodak paper, 25.2 x 20.5 cm (10 x 8 in), [NASA photo no AS8-14-2474], with A KODAK PAPER watermarks on the verso, a minor 3cm crease at upper right in the black sky of space (NASA/North American Rockwell).Footnotes: This photograph was taken by Anders on the way back to Earth, after 20 hours circling the desolate world. Apollo 8's SPS engine was ignited for trans-Earth insertion (TEI) to accelerate out of lunar orbit. An engine failure would have stranded the men in lunar orbit with no hope of rescue but the crew was instead offered a fantastic view of the Moon, in an orientation that is not seen by terrestrial observers. North American Rockwell was NASA's prime contractor and manufacturer of the Apollo Command Module.Condition Report: A crease in upper right corner (crossing the black background)Condition Report Disclaimer
