From a deceased estateBarn find conditionThe 1965 Austin Healey 3000 Mk. III was the final and most refined version of the legendary British sportscar. Powered by a 2.9 litre inline-six engine producing 150 horsepower, it featured improved carburettors and a revised camshaft for better performance. The Mk. III introduced a more luxurious interior with a walnut-veneer dashboard and a centre console. Servo-assisted brakes became standard, enhancing stopping power. This model, known as the BJ8, was popular for its blend of power, style, and comfort. A true icon of the 1960s, it remains highly sought-after by collectors and enthusiasts worldwide. This 1965 Austin Healey has been dry stored for over 25 years. This classic British sportscar hasn’t been driven since the late 1990’s. Despite this, the car presents in surprisingly good condition and shows no obvious signs of corrosion. The car is presented in the desirable colour combination of dark blue over cream coachwork with dark blue trim piped in cream and a blue hood. This Mk. III example benefits from wire wheels and overdrive. Offered to auction with a V5C registration document and without reserve, this car could prove to be an enjoyable and rewarding project for its next custodian. Consigned by Dominic Lake. Same family ownership for 50 yearsStamped service book at good intervals up until 80,953 milesThe Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow was a luxury saloon car built from 1965 through to 1980 and was the first Rolls-Royce to be constructed using a monocoque chassis and, to date, has the largest production volume of any Rolls-Royce. The original Shadow was three and a half inches narrower and seven inches shorter than its predecessor, the Silver Cloud, but managed to offer increased passenger and luggage space thanks to more efficient packaging. Aside from a more modern appearance and construction, the Silver Shadow introduced many new features such as disc brakes replacing drum brakes and independent rear suspension rather than the ageing live axle design of previous models. It featured a 189bhp 6.75 litre V8 engine from 1970 onwards, mated to a Turbo Hydromantic 400 transmission supplied by General Motors. The superb ride quality achieved in the Shadow was thanks to the innovative high-pressure hydraulic system with dual circuit braking and hydraulic self-levelling suspension. This wonderful example is presented in Larch Green with a tan leather interior and tan vinyl roof covering. This Silver Shadow I has been the daily driver of our client’s father for the last 50 years, he purchased it from H.R. Owen and it was believed to have been their demonstration model. Our client has only taken ownership this year owing to his father’s advancing years and inability to drive. The interior tan leather is in good condition considering its age, as is the walnut door cappings and dashboard with the headlining showing no marks upon inspection. There is some fading of paintwork to the front wings at the front and some minor bubbling to the rear doors near the windows, otherwise, for a car of this age with really only one owner since 1975, its general condition is commensurate for its age. The service books have been stamped from new at regular intervals up until 2000 when the mileage was 80,953 (now reading 87,614). In 2010 the present owner had some major work carried out which included a replacement engine fitted by Rolls Royce Engineering at a cost of £7000, this work is all documented in the history file when the odometer reading was about 84,000.The car has been professionally maintained in recent years by a local Rolls-Royce trained technician called Gavin Dwyer, a well known Rolls Royce specialist mechanic. A true time warp example with such low ownership and great service history, this is a ‘one of a kind’ opportunity to enter the world of Rolls-Royce luxury. Last owner for over 30 yearsVery original time-warp conditionMoT’d every year thus confirming the mileageThe Volkswagen Golf GTi is an iconic hatchback that solidified its place in automotive history as a practical performance car. The Mk. II featured a 1.8-litre inline-four engine producing some 137 bhp with its 16-valve engine. While modest by modern standards, its lightweight design, precise five-speed manual transmission, and lively engine made it thrilling to drive. The GTi delivered sharp handling, thanks to a well-tuned suspension, front-wheel drive, and excellent weight distribution. Its compact dimensions made it nimble on twisty roads and a breeze to drive in urban environments. Visually the hallmark design elements of the GTi lineage: bold red accents on the grille, squared-off styling, and alloy wheels. Inside, the plaid-patterned sport seats and ergonomic layout underscored its driver-focused ethos. Practicality was another strong suit. The hatchback design provided ample cargo space, and its robust engineering made it dependable and relatively affordable to maintain.First registered on 19th March 1987, this early Mk. II Volkswagen Golf GTi 16V is presented in Diamond Silver metallic over a striped, grey cloth interior. Specification highlights include 14-inch ‘bottle top’ alloy wheels, a manual sunroof, electric windows, central locking and a leather-bound steering wheel. Under the bonnet resides a free-revving 1.8-litre 16-valve engine producing around 137bhp through a five-speed manual transmission. This time-warp example boasts 65,261 warranted miles and has been cherished by the registered keeper for over thirty years. The accompanying history file shows that the car spent its first five years as a daily driver before retiring to life as a garage queen. Remarkably, the Golf has covered less than 3,000 miles since 1992, with some annual mileage increments being as little as seven miles (driving to and from the MoT test station). Apart from an after-market immobiliser and stainless-steel exhaust, the car appears of original specification including the Volkswagen-inscribed alloys and Blaupunkt radio cassette head unit. Everywhere you look on this Golf, things are clean, fresh and well-kept. Years of indoor storage have paid dividends in preserving the exterior as neither the plastic trim nor the lights show signs of fading to the degree that you would usually expect at this age. The paintwork is in excellent condition and the body panels appear original, flush and straight. The cabin is as good as you could hope for. The headlining was replaced a few years ago, whilst the seats and carpet appear in fine order without any tears. The engine bay, boot and undercarriage are in very good condition. The engine is strong and pulls impeccably and the gearbox operates well with smooth changes on all gears. This delightful Golf GTi benefits from a recent service and cambelt change (July 2023 at 65,189 miles) and is ready to be enjoyed. Supplied with the car are two sets of keys and a comprehensive history file dating back to the point of first registration to include the original owner handbooks and stamped service book. The Golf GTi became a beloved figure among enthusiasts for its blend of performance, style, and practicality. It helped establish the “hot hatch” genre, inspiring generations of sporty compact cars and earning its reputation as one of the greatest everyday performance vehicles of its era. The Smart Roadster Final Edition marked the end of an era for one of the most quirky and fun small sportscars on the market. Produced by Smart, a subsidiary of Daimler AG, the Smart Roadster was a two-seater roadster that combined distinctive design with an emphasis on compactness and urban practicality. However, after years of production from 2003 to 2006, Smart decided to discontinue the Roadster, with the Final Edition serving as the last hurrah for this unique vehicle. The 2006 Smart Roadster Final Edition was distinct from its earlier versions with its special features, designed to make it stand out as the last of its kind. This model was offered with limited-edition badging and a sportier, more refined interior. The special edition also boasted a few enhancements in terms of technology and comfort, such as improved seats and advanced features in the dashboard, making it a more polished version of the already beloved Roadster. Under the bonnet, the Smart Roadster Final Edition featured a 698cc, three-cylinder engine, producing around 80 horsepower. While not an overwhelming amount of power, the car’s light weight (under 800kg) made it feel quick and nimble, perfect for tight corners and fast city driving. It also had a five-speed automated manual transmission, adding a touch of driving excitement without overwhelming the driver.Originally registered on 28th December 2006, this Smart has been very well looked after having had 14 services which are documented in the history folder. We are advised by the vendor that this Roadster drives with no known faults and is very reliable. It is supplied with a V5 registration document together with a current MoT test certificate valid until 1st March 2026, original handbooks and two sets of keys. The canvas roof is in good condition although we are advised it is a little stiff in operation due to lack of use. Production ended in 2006 and the Final Edition remains a sought-after collector’s car today. It encapsulated a time when Smart was exploring bold, unconventional designs, and the Roadster, with its playful spirit, has cemented its place as a quirky but cherished model in automotive history. This N400 is further enhanced by the significant inclusion of cherished registration number N400 VAM. The enhancements included a useful power upgrade to the 4.3 litre V8 engine, lifting peak power to 400bhp and also came equipped with a new Sports Pack as standard which offered subtly different driving dynamics tailored to enthusiasts who were seeking even more responsive handling. The fully road going N400 was timed lapping 'the Ring' in just under eight minutes giving rise to the target production of just 480 cars, exactly how many seconds in those eight minutes!Reflecting the classic 007 colours, this lovely example finished in Lightning Silver with black Obsidian leather with silver stitching, has had just three owners from new. He has treated the car carefully whilst in his stewardship, as an engineer, undertaking maintenance himself and laying the car up every winter to avoid the worst of the weather, but he also states that he has never taken the car out in the rain. The car presents beautifully and offers some of the best handling to come out of the Gaydon factory, it benefits from a six-speed manual gearbox with new clutch fitted in June 2018 as well as, less than 4,000 miles ago, it is enhanced by four new Pirelli P-Zero tyres as well as a MoT test history that runs alongside the maintenance record serving to verify the current mileage proving this limited-edition Aston Martin to be one for any enthusiast or collector. In 2001, three years after the launch of the Rover 75, and less than a year after the demerger of MG Rover from BMW, the MG ZT and MG ZT-T were launched. During the cars' development, the models were codenamed X10 and X11, for the saloon and estate versions, respectively. The basic shape and styling of the MG ZT remained the same as for the Rover 75 but with changes to the front bumper, now with an integrated grille, and detail alterations including colour coding of the chromed waistline, a new boot lid plinth, and different alloy wheels and tyres sizes. During the first few months of 2004, MG Rover facelifted the design of the ZT and ZT-T to a less retro look, at the same time as the Rover 75 received a facelift. This didn't feature much in the way of mechanical differences to the ZT, most changes were merely aesthetic. The main changes to the car included the replacement of the twin headlamps, with a new, clear single headlamp unit. Between 2003 and 2006 the top of the ZT range, and the rarest, was rear wheel drive and powered by the Ford 4601cc V8 engine giving 300bhp, 0-60mph in 6.3 seconds and a top speed of 155mph.Originally registered on 16th January 2006, this Rover ZT-T presents well in black with a black interior. These are great cars to drive with endless power available, a relatively unassuming vehicle from the outside, with the only visible feature being the large bore exhausts. However, start the engine and suddenly you become aware of the Ford Mustang 4.6 litre V8 under the bonnet. This is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox making this a true drivers car and one to really enjoy on the open road. Performance is put at 260bhp and 407NM of torque. Manufactured in relatively small numbers, it is thought less than 200 were produced, meaning this could well prove to be a shrewd purchase. Excellent condition throughoutLow mileage exampleCollector quality exampleFirst registered on 22nd of November 2002, this lovely Mercedes-Benz SL500 has spent its entire life with two lady owners in London. Prior to us, The vehicle has been looked after by Klasse of Fulham, where documented invoices show money does not appear to have been a consideration in its maintenance. The subtle dark blue coachwork adds a purposeful and discreet air to a car that already throbs with latent menace. It all aligns well too, but then that’s only to be expected given its charmed life. It has razor-sharp shutlines and panel alignment and almost impeccable paintwork. Its got the bi-Xenon headlights plus that complex but incredibly effective folding metal roof. Obviously, the latter works as it should, furling and unfurling on command and providing what might just be the most effective convertible experience available anywhere for less than six-figures.The AMG 18-inch five-spoke alloy wheels are unsullied and fitted with matching Dunlop Sport Maxx tyres, all of which have good tread. The grey leather interior features heated and cooled electric front seats, burr walnut trim, a wind deflector, a first aid kit and fire extinguisher and a Harman Kardon Logic 7 surround sound system. As you’d expect given its low mileage and careful curation, it is in a stunning condition with barely a mark much less any significant wear. The SL’s service history is a bit of a dream, having been serviced on the dot from the beginning and contrary to the usual practice, the regimen was stepped up as it got older, being serviced every year regardless of mileage. It features a high-capacity battery, Active Body Control, and the five-speed automatic gearbox. Plus, of course, that staggeringly effective five-litre V8 engine; with 302bhp and 339lb/ft of torque at the driver’s disposal, it can hit 62mph in just over six seconds, which should be quick enough to silence anyone who tells you that its more of a boulevard cruiser than a sportscar – if, that is, you can hear them over the sound of that wonderfully gruff exhaust note! The 944 was intended to last into the 1990s but major revisions planned for a 944 S3 model were eventually rolled into the 968 instead which replaced the 944. The 944 was a successful model and was available as both a coupé and cabriolet in naturally aspirated and turbocharged forms. In mid-1985, the Porsche 944 underwent significant changes. These included a new dashboard together with new door panels, embedded radio antenna as well as some mechanical changes. Also included was a larger fuel tank, optional heated and powered seats, Porsche Hi-Fi sound system and revisions in the mounting of the transaxle to reduce noise and vibration. The numbers built, reflecting the popularity of the model, made it one of the most successful cars in Porsche's history.First registered on 2nd April 1992, the lovely Porsche 944 S2 Cabriolet offered here is presented in white with a blue interior. Boasting an impressive service book with no less than 12 stamps, the car has clearly been well cared for throughout its 33-year life. Recent new hoodLovely exampleServiced by Terry’s Beetle Services, LondonIn 1948, Wilhelm Karmann bought a standard Beetle and converted it into a four-seater convertible. After successfully presenting it at Volkswagen in Wolfsburg, Karmann began production of the Volkswagen Beetle Cabriolet in 1949. After a number of stylistic and technical alterations made to it, the last of 331,847 cabriolets came off the conveyor belt on 10th January 1980, bringing with it the end of an era. In 1971, alongside continued production of the standard Beetle, a variant which featured Macpherson strut front suspension and a re-designed front end was introduced which was officially known and marketed in Europe as the 'VW 1302' from 1971 to 1972, and 'VW 1303' from 1973 onwards. The VW Beetle has seduced many a first-time buyer, collector and classic car enthusiast. And for obvious reasons; the parts network is comprehensive and inexpensive, the ability to convert the base model into many different variants was always available and the cost of the car itself presented a gateway into classic car ownership.First supplied to Verona in Italy in 1973 this lovely example still retains its rare Italy specific style sidelights. Imported by the vendor who paid nearly €30,000 for the car in 2022, it has been doted on ever since. The soft top hood was replaced in September of 2022 with the fitting cost being £1,470 alone. The car has also been fitted with an uprated 1,600cc engine and period style Bluetooth radio as well as front inertia seat belts. Serviced by Terry’s Beetle Services of London since its arrival in the UK the vendor has had the car serviced there every year with invoices totalling over £3,665.00 to date. The interior presents very well with the vinyl seats unmarked. The vendor reports the car to run and drive very well and is only selling to fund a new project.Supplied with its V5 registration document, Volkswagon model certificate, receipts and papers from the car’s import. • Home market example in original specification• Comprehensive history file with over £30k of bills• Supplied with Heritage Certificate confirming matching numbersThe Jaguar E-Type was ten years old and in need of a new lease of life. History repeated itself when Jaguar debuted its robust V12 engine in a sportscar instead of the saloon for which it was designed. Despite its sportscar heritage, Jaguar depended on saloon vehicles for its survival and had developed the twelve-cylinder engine to power them with sufficient torque and refinement. Larger and softer in nature and with weight redistributed 53/47, the Series III had lost the wilds of its youth but gained the long-legged touring profile to which it was arguably better suited. Robert Bell in Motor was quoted as saying at the time that 'all we expected to try was a new engine, but what in fact we drove was a new car. Not a yowling, aggressive Ferrari-like machine with which, perhaps, most people associate a V12 engine, but a very smooth, quiet and refined grand touring sports car'.This E-Type was originally supplied by Ritchies of Glasgow on 20th September 1972, it was specified in white with a black leather interior and the all-important manual gearbox. The car is presented today in very good order overall, the paint has a good shine following a full respray a few years ago and the brightwork gleams. The hood has been replaced and looks very smart, free from any fading or tears. The odometer reading of 52,678 is backed up by various invoices and MoT’s and is understood to be the correct mileage for the car. The history file supplied with the car contains a wealth of bills totalling some £33,000 during the current owners nearly decade long ownership, it also contains a Heritage Certificate confirming the car retains its original engine and factory specification. Uprated twin 45 Dellorto carburettorsUprated twin stainless steel exhaustThe best-seller of the Triumph range, the TR6 was certainly considered the highest performer of all the models to date. Presented in a highly presentable condition following and extensive restoration over a number of years, including the front wings, boot lid and sills. It has been fully resprayed in Royal blue, although there is some very minor bubbling now upon close inspection. The brightwork is in generally good order and the underside also appears sound, especially the chassis and floor pan, as indeed described by ‘Classic Assessments’ some years ago. The black interior is in good condition throughout with fairly new door trims and carpets. The side panels are all sound with the dashboard itself having been revarnished well. An aftermarket Mountney wood-rimmed steering wheel and inertia reel seatbelts have been fitted and the double-duck soft top and re-worked frame are in good order although the soft top windows require some attention. The mechanics appear to be in good working order having all undergone a variety of remedial work at some time with many components renewed including the engine mounts, coolant hoses and fuel pipes. The fuel-injection system has been replaced with triple 45 Dellorto carburettors combined with a pair of pan air-filters. The exhaust system is also non-standard and has also been upgraded to stainless steel. The power output has been increased to an estimated 165bhp which can be easily handled by the 2.5 litre, six-cylinder engine and it now also runs on unleaded fuel, all connected to a four-speed gearbox and optional overdrive unit, all reported to work well. Additionally, there are chrome wire wheels fitted all round with good quality tyres on each corner making for a highly presentable classic overall, connected to a strong engine and all pointing to a high performance example. UK registered from newPhotographic history file of the restorationIntroduced by Henry Ford in March 1932, this was the worlds’ first mass-produced V-8, the legendary ‘Flathead’. With two banks of four cylinders set at 60° apart and a capacity of 3,622cc, it developed 65bhp in its initial single carburettor form. The ‘Flathead’ was highly amenable to tuning and rapidly became the engine of choice within America’s speed community and post-war, the standard bearer for the world of hot rodding. Post-war, the British Ford arm launched the new Pilot saloon featuring hydro mechanical brakes, a built-in jacking system and a column gear change. Initially equipped with the tax efficient 22hp motor, Dagenham soon reverted to the 3,622cc version. Power was up to 85bhp at 3,800rpm and the V8’s famous flexibility more than compensated for a three-speed gearbox with synchromesh on the upper two ratios; indeed, it was marketed as ‘a truly top-gear car...un-baffled by the steepest hills, unruffled by slow traffic speeds’. Costing £585 it was outstanding value for a car that could cruise at 60mph carrying six people in comfort on the bench seats and return 20mpg.Originally registered on 1st May 1954 and although being a British built van and remaining in the UK since new, is in left hand drive guise.
