Two 9ct Gold Toothpicks. The retractable toothpick with the engine turned pattern is hallmarked "375" for 9ct Gold, has the anchor assay mark for Birmingham, the date letter "E" and makers marks "W.M" for possibly William Manton Ltd, Tenby Street, Birmingham. Total Gross Weight of the Toothpicks is approx. 10.6 grams. Condition: Both Toothpicks are in good condition.
1950's Vintage Turner & Simpson Hunter Aeroplane Silver Hallmarked Pin Dish /Ashtray. The Pin Dish/Ashtray is hallmarked "T&S" for Turner & Simpson LTD Silversmith Legge Lane, Birmingham, Untied Kingdom , the anchor assay mark for Birmingham, the Lion Passant for Sterling Silver and the "G" for 1956. The hallmarks are nice, crisp and clear. The circular Pin Dish/Ashtray with engine turned decorated rims and enamelled roundels commemorating the Hawker Hunter Aeroplane. A beautiful enamel centre in good condition. Just minor damage to the enamelling. Diameter of the Pin Dish/Ashtray is approx. 13.5cm x 13.5cm and weighs approx. 113.3 grams.

Listing missions and also the daily life and frustrations of service. Attested July 8th 1942, Called up 31 May 1943. He flew Wellington Bombers and later Liberators with 70 Squadron, 37 Squadron and 40 Squadron from Tortorella and Foggia. The diary lists his postings and opens with the quote " It is not the thought of dying that comes hard, it is the thought of how I shall die. Lord let me die quickly, cleanly, with a brave and courageous heart.",together with his RAF Bomb Aimer Brevet Wings, gilt Eagle R. A. F cap badge, group of five WW II miniatures. A Portsmouth, Southsea and Isle of Wight Aviation ( P.S.I.O.W.A. ) engine turned silver cigarette case inscribed on the inside of the lid Presented to A. E. Hawes by members of his " Purgatory Gang" which he so successfully commanded during 1942-1943. the exterior engraved with his initials and and aircraft ( probably an Airspeed Oxford which was manufactured at the airfield during the war years ) London 1942, 6oz 189gm, in 1939 Amy Johnson, was hired by Portsmouth, Southsea and Isle of Wight Aviation (P.S.I.O.W.A), to pilot their daily service and later joined the Air Transport Auxiliary (A.T.A.)
