A 19TH CENTURY FRENCH MANTLE CLOCK BY DUPONT OF PARIS with Rococo ormoulu case and silvered engine turned dial, the 8-day movement striking on a bell, stamped 'DUPONT A PARIS' and '1513', the case also stamped '1513' to base, 30cm high, on a gilt gesso stand. Provenance: by family descent from the original owner Scottish Minister Thomas Chalmers. Sold with a rosewood framed print of Thomas Chalmers Condition Report : the ormoulu is a good colour/patination, with no signs of damage. overall nice quality, and pleasingly heavy. Movement has not been tested. Silk suspension pendulum. May have originally had a glass dome. Condition reports are offered as a guide only and we highly recommend inspecting (where possible) any lot to satisfy yourself as to its condition.

Rhodes & Sons Ltd Bradford (feint), engine turned with Arabic numerals, the movement stamped "Rolex Prima" "Timed 6 Positions For All Climates" "15 Jewels", within plain case stamped "R.W.C.Ltd", import marks for Glasgow 1923, on a strap; Together with Another Vintage Ladies Rolex Wristwatch, the (incomplete) signed dial with Arabic numerals, line markers and seconds subsidiary dial, the movement stamped "Rolex Prima" "Timed 6 Positions For All Climates" "15 Jewels", within plain case, stamped "Rolex" (Glasgow import marks unclear), on a strap (2).

William Boot Assistant Provincial Grand Master Province of Derbyshire by The Wor. Master & Past Masters of Ryecroft Lodge No.4974 15th July, 1958", 17cm wide.
