2003 BMW M3 Convertible Transmission: automaticMileage:89951The E46 BMW M3 was previewed at the German Motor Show in 1999 as a concept, although the actual car when manufactured bore a very close resemblance when it was introduced in October 2000. Only available as coupé or convertible the M3 was offered with a six-speed Getrag gearbox or the optional SMG II gearbox. The E46 M3 was full of electronic gadgetry, which included driver aids such as Dynamic Stability Control, Cornering Brake Control and a Limited Slip Differential. With an electronically limited top speed of 155mph and 0-60mph in 5.1 seconds, the M3 certainly lived up to its name and did not disappoint! This very nice example is presented in Titanium silver with black leather interior and black electrically operated hood. Its throaty 3.2 litre engine is mated to a six speed SMG II gearbox, which provides an exciting drive and added comfort around town. The interior is in good condition and with the white dial instrumentation and snug driving position, makes this M3 feel much younger than its 20 years. The car comes with a MoT test certificate which expires in July 2024 and has just been fitted with a new SMG pump.

1972 Ford Escort Mk. I to Mexico Specification Transmission: manualMileage:58703There was, in the early days of the Ford Escort, a higher performance version for rallies and racing. The Mk. I Escorts became very successful as a rally car and eventually went on to become one of the most successful rally cars of all time. The Ford works team was practically unbeatable in the late 1960's and early 1970's; arguably the Escort's greatest victory was in the 1970 London to Mexico World Cup Rally being driven by Finnish legend Hannu Mikkola. This gave rise to the famous Escort Mexico special edition road versions in honour of the rally car. The Mexico was built at Ford's Advanced Vehicle Operations (AVO) facility located at the Aveley Plant in South Essex. As well as higher performance engines and sports suspension, these models featured strengthened bodyshells, making them an ideal model for rallying. Today, Mk. I Escorts are still popular in the amateur rally scene. This lovely Ford Escort left the Ford factory in 1972 as an 1100L. Between 2010 and 2015 it was totally stripped down and rebuilt by Stephen Tilburn, the owner of Hilton Gott Volvo in Downham Market, Norfolk. The body was restored adding all the Type 49 additions bringing it up to Mexico specification and then resprayed Le Mans Green by the Hilton Gott Bodyshop. Mechanically it has been fully uprated, the 1600cc crossflow engine has been lightened and balanced also to Mexico specification and fitted with a sports exhaust manifold and exhaust system. The suspension has been uprated and it has an English rear axle and anti-tramp bars. It has Ford RS style wheels with Yokohama AO48 low profile tyres. The black interior received the same treatment being fitted with Ford RS style Beta cloth contour seats, a RS steering wheel and RS six dial instrument clocks. With the rising prices of the original Escort RS's and the Mexico, this is an opportunity to buy an Escort to the same specification at half the price.

1965 Ford Mustang Fastback Transmission: manualMileage:65The Ford Mustang was the brainchild of Lee Iacocca and was branded as the first 'Pony Car', it was born out of a need to compete with the flood of European sports cars coming into the USA in the sixties. The first production Mustang rolled off the assembly line in Dearborn, Michigan on March 9th 1964 and was introduced to the public at the New York World's Fair on April 17th 1964. The Mustang was only available as a hardtop coupé and convertible until September 1964, it was the fastback that drew the interest of Carroll Shelby which extended the iconic reach of the Ford Mustang and firmly put it into the category of motoring legends. The Mustang sold over one million units in its first 18 months on the market and became a popular car to customise, from engine upgrades to racing stripes, no two Mustangs are often found the same. Ford kept the Mustang relatively cheap with a list price of $2,368, making the car extremely popular. This Mustang is an extremely desirable manual transmission fastback, painted in stunning Ivy Green, which was only available on the 1965 model year. The car was manufactured in Dearborn Michigan in May 1965 and fitted with the optional C-code 200bhp Windsor 289ci V8. The car was also specified with a limited-slip-differential and the special handling package. The original owner of the car was so fond of it that they kept it until circa 2003. The car arrived in the UK in 2004 and is now with only its second owner on UK shores, making it a three-owner car from new. The engine was rebuilt in 1983, only around 7,000 miles ago, some bodywork was also carried out at the same time. The gearbox was rebuilt less than 3,000 miles ago, the clutch and flywheel were also both replaced around the same time. New rear shocks were fitted in 2021 and the tyres were upgraded to modern radials in 2022, with geometry adjusted at the same time to suit. The general impression of this Mustang is one that suggests a large amount of originality, the car is nicely patinated and is perfect to be used and enjoyed as it sits, without the fear of ruining a box fresh show quality restored example. The only modification on the car, is the set of Minilite wheels, except for that, the car is completely standard throughout.

1971 Alpine A110-1647, Rally, Sprint and Hillclimb car Transmission: manualMileage:67087Automobiles Alpine was founded by Jean Rédélé in 1955. In 1964 they licenced a company in Mexico to manufacture their designs under the name DinAlpin and launched a 1,296cc competition version of the A110 in 1967. The next year an accord was signed with Renault which saw the Renault diamond badge added to the bonnet and the brand name changed to Alpine Renault. This A110 A1300 was manufactured in 1971 as a 1,296cc Berlinette, one of the 693 DinAlpins built in Mexico. 1973 saw Alpine win the First World Rally Championship with the "Group 4" 1,596cc variant and in 1976 Alpine Renault added their 1,647cc engine to form the A110 1600SX on which this car is now modelled. This Alpine was imported into Spain as an A110-1300, converted to Group 4 specification and set-up for Rallies, Hill climbs and Sprints being frequently driven over the last 10 years by husband and wife team Andy and Liz Owler. The specification includes a four-speed gearbox, low ratio differential, heated windscreen, front radiator, competition exhaust, quick steering rack and Cibié spotlights front and rear. Six-point safety harnesses are fitted as is a Terratrip distance recorder, an FIA roll-cage and Koni adjustable shock absorbers all round. UK registered in 2013 it is supplied with an MSA competition logbook together with a V5C registration document and current MoT test certificate valid until 20th August 2024. The knowledgeable and enthusiastic vendor advises that this A110 runs well, with the 1,647cc engine, on twin Weber DCOE 40 carburettors, producing brisk performance in a car that is well set-up for competition use. Finished in Alpine Renault works colours of black and yellow with a black interior, this car caries the livery similar to that worn by the Famous #7, winner of the 1976 "Tour de Corse" as seen recently at Goodwood! Notable is that the livery and graphics have been painstakingly painted on and are not "stickers". This Alpine A110 wants for nothing, is on the button, ready for use in competition or as a great road car! A very capable yet forgiving car in the right hands.

1978 MG B Roadster Transmission: manualMileage:98486Conceived in the late 1950s and launched in 1962, the MGB would turn out to be one of the most successful sports cars of all time. Attractively styled, cheap to run and easily maintained by the home mechanic, the 'B' carried on MG's traditional role of providing affordable, sports car motoring for the ordinary enthusiast. The MGB was mechanically similar to the preceding MGA, though with a heavier, unitary construction bodyshell. To compensate for the newcomer's increased weight the existing B-Series engine was stretched from 1,622 to 1,798cc, while the MGB's aerodynamically efficient lines made the most of the maximum available 95bhp to achieve a top speed which just bested the magic 'ton'. A 'right first time' design that changed little over the years apart from the adoption of a more robust five-main-bearing engine in 1965 (fitted from the start of GT production that autumn) a minor facelift for 1970 and the adoption of plastic bumpers (to comply with US legislation) for 1975, the 'B' enjoyed an 18 year production life and sales totalling in excess of 500,000 cars. Its popularity remaining undiminished today, the classic MGB is one of the easiest sports cars of its era to run and maintain in the 21st Century, being served by a worldwide industry of spare parts and service providers.Originally registered on 1st September 1978, this MGB is finished in Blaze with a black interior. Having had only two owners from new, this Roadster has covered a little over 2,000 miles per year throughout its 45 years on British roads. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a large history file, this MGB is a great way into classic car motoring for a modest outlay. Maintenance on these cars is relatively simple and the marque is very well supported by the Owners' Club. A pretty British sports car which never loses appeal.Guide £4,500-£6,000

The M5's aggressive exterior design, subtle aerodynamic enhancements, and quad exhaust tips hint at its potent capabilities. 1970 Volvo 1800E Coupé Transmission: manualMileage:15845With truly international credentials, this modern departure from Volvo's standard fare was planned in Sweden, built both in the UK and Sweden but designed by a Swede working at Carrozzeria Frua in Italy. Given the streamlined and elegant lines that adorn this model, it was produced both as a two-door coupé and latterly as a shooting brake. Initially marketed as a P1800S, the 'S' standing for Sweden, the power output was increased in 1970 with the addition of Bosch fuel injection hence P1800E, the 'E' standing for Einspritzung, the German for fuel injection allowing for a top speed of, incredibly for the time, 118mph.Supplied in Inca yellow with a contrasting black leatherette trim, the quality here is clear to see. Maintenance has been relentless over the years with very little reference to cost. As a result, the history file is extensive with numerous invoices, old MoT test certificates, original owners handbook and detailed information including engine-rebuilds, fuel systems overhaul, much additional mechanical work with, in 2016, all sills and outriggers replaced with a CD detailing works done including paint. With only 58 P1800E models registered with the DVLA (of which 32 are declared SORN), this is a rare car, even more so in this outstanding condition and they are quickly rising in popularity as a great 70's icon. There is little wonder why this was the motorcar of choice by the most elegant of detectives, Simon Templar himself, in the long-running TV show, The Saint.

1965 Alfa Romeo 2600 Touring Spider Transmission: automaticMileage:51335The Alfa Romeo 2600 (designated 106 series) was Alfa Romeo´s six-cylinder flagship model produced from 1962 through to 1968. It was the successor to the Alfa Romeo 2000 and has become historically significant as the last Alfa Romeo to have been fitted with an inline six-cylinder engine and having twin overhead camshafts which had been the traditional Alfa Romeo engine configuration since the 1920's. The 2600 models were first introduced in 1962 in Berlinetta (saloon), Sprint (coupé) and the Spider (convertible) forms. Alfa Romeo only produced 2,255 of the 2600 Spiders between 1962 and 1965. Even rarer are the right hand drive models manufactured in 1964; an example of which is offered here today.Originally registered to main agents, Mangoletsi, Knutsford, before being sold to its first owner in April 1965, this 2600 Spider was later acquired by an enthusiast and Alfa Romeo club member in 1979. Later handed down to his son, the Alfa was retained in storage until a sympathetic restoration was undertaken by Brookside garage between 1991 and 1993, totalling a cost in excess of £30,000. The car was taken off the road in 1999 and placed in storage once more where it remained until its recent surfacing. This wonderful barn find is offered with a sizeable history file containing the original buff logbook, a restoration photo album, club magazines and documentation, the original service book stamped in 1966, Brooksides 1991 restoration quotation, original sales brochures, manuals and previous MoT test certificates. 1961 Jaguar E-Type Series I Roadster (3.8 litre) Transmission: manualMileage:17Launched at the 1961 Geneva Motor Show, the Jaguar E-Type was nothing short of a revelation. With its heady blend of supercar performance, breathtaking styling and low-price tag, the newcomer left rivals reeling and customers clamouring. Early sportscar racing success at the hands of Graham Hill and Roy Salvadori amongst others helped cement its reputation. Built as a monocoque with a front sub-frame to cradle the engine, the model's combination of all-round independent suspension (torsion-bar front/coil-sprung rear) rack and pinion steering and four-wheel disc brakes gave it excellent road holding and handling capabilities. Fed by triple SU HD8 carburettors and topped with a 'straight port' DOHC cylinder head, its indomitable 3781cc straight-six engine was quoted as developing some 265bhp and 260lbft of torque. Allied to a four-speed Moss gearbox (with synchromesh on second, third and fourth), it reputedly enabled the E-Type to sprint from 0-60mph in 6.9 seconds and on to 150mph.This fabulous E-Type has been lovingly restored over a long period, the result is a beautiful example of a 'flat-floor' very early 3.8 roadster. Finished in the delightful colour combination of Golden Sand with Tan interior, no stone has been left unturned in this nut and bolt restoration. The matching number engine has been rebuilt, as has the Moss gearbox. The rear axle has been overhauled and a new clutch fitted. The brakes, suspension and hoses have all been replaced. The paintwork has been carried out to a very good standard as has the re-trim. Early E-Types have lots of unique features to later cars, the doors were built in three parts and the rear boot drain tubes in the centre to name a couple. Eagle eyed enthusiasts will note this car has outside bonnet locks on the bonnet. This feature was only on the first 500 cars manufactured, with the feature stopping on chassis number 875385 on the US specification roadsters. This car is 18 cars outside of that range, it is thought the bonnet locks were fitted at a later date. The vendor has applied for the car to be UK registered and it is hoped this will be completed prior to auction. This really is a stunning E-Type that has covered minimal mileage since its nut and bolt restoration and will therefore require a shakedown period, with minor adjustments and repairs expected for a few weeks.

1990 Maserati Karif Transmission: manualMileage:39699The Karif or Tipo AM339 is a luxury coupé produced by Maserati between 1988 and 1991. Designed to mix luxury with sporty looks and agile handling, the Karif was announced with a limited production run of 255 examples. This is exactly what modern manufacturers do now and with great success, however only 221 Karif's were sold with late cars being sold long after this build date. Built on the same shortened chassis as the Zagato-bodied Maserati Spyder, they added a fixed notchback roof and used a more powerful iteration of their 'Bi-turbo engine', a 2.9 litre V6, giving around 260bhp. Reviewed in the motoring press at the time as having 'sawn off looks, shotgun performance'.This is a rather special example, we are informed it was originally built for the Managing Director of Maserati in the UK, but the company went into receivership in 1990 and the car was never delivered. The car is therefore painted in Dark Aquamarine, which is understood to be a unique colour, the other Karif's were all in either black, red or white. Our vendor has owned several Karif's, including owning this example on two separate occasions. The car presents in excellent condition, commensurate with its low mileage. The car comes with a good history detailing various works over the years, and has spent recent years in dry storage, only covering very minimal mileage during our vendors current ownership. The Maserati Karif is an extremely rare car already, but the opportunity to own one of just 25 right hand drive examples, in a unique colour is something which should not be missed.

The Concept Eight was the first time that Jaguar had shown its new performance styling to the public and the reaction was so positive that many of its key design details, such as the eye-catching polished wheels, side power vents and Satin American Walnut trim, were soon to grace a special edition XJ produced for the USA and other key European and global markets. Both front and rear seats have variable heating and the driver's seat includes lumbar and cushion length power adjust with full memory function. To add to that unique performance feel, the XJR Portfolio also sports an aluminium J-gate gear lever surround and chrome and leather gear knob. The all-aluminium construction methods that Jaguar introduced with the latest generation XJ saloon in 2003 broke new ground in the volume automotive industry. Unlike other aluminium-bodied cars, the XJ family uses full stressed-skin monocoque construction including all the outer panels, is manufactured from aluminium. As a result, the XJR Portfolio is around 200kg lighter than before with significant benefits in performance, safety, economy and emissions performance. The XJR Portfolio's immense performance capabilities stem not just from its lightweight body but from its renowned 400bhp supercharged, 4.2 litre V8 engine. That excellent engine is matched by the superb six-speed ZF automatic transmission and gives an electronically limited maximum speed of 155mph and 0-60mph in exactly 5.0 seconds. This very nice example is presented in Midnight Metallic with an ivory leather interior, pressed aluminium dash, gear console surround and door cappings and is one of the 100 limited edition cars produced for the UK market. There is also a Jaguar Heritage Certificate and the wheels (with Heritage wheel centres) have been refurbished which included powder coating. 2012 Maserati GranCabrio Transmission: automaticMileage:51000The Maserati GranTurismo, and its convertible cousin the GranCabrio, entered production in 2007. Powered initially by the 4.7 litre Ferrari-derived V8 engine sitting in the Quattroporte V platform, the GranTurismo was famously developed in just nine months, a record that remains unbeaten to this day. The reason for this furious pace was that Ferrari kept the designs for the planned next Maserati coupé for themselves when the Fiat Chrysler Group took over, eventually morphing those designs into the Ferrari California. So, with their plans nicked from under their noses, Maserati had to start again and work fast, and what a great job they did with both the GranTurismo and GranCabrio.Registered new on 9th January 2012, this very well-presented example is offered in metallic black coachwork over a cream leather interior and is showing circa 51,000 miles on the odometer. The paintwork is very good showing little sign of age, and the interior is very clean. Offered with a sizeable history file including, an extensive service record stamped in the original service booklet, previous MoT test certificates, the current V5C registration document, sundry invoices and a current MoT test certificate valid until 12th July 2024. A superb, open top Italian sports car, that sounds fantastic, this GranCabrio looks to be excellent value indeed.Interested parties should note that although the paintwork is generally very good throughout, the rear bumper does show various blemishes and would benefit from a respray.

1955 Riley RME Transmission: manualMileage:51657Despite producing some fine small saloons and sporting cars while carving out an enviable competition record for itself during the early 1930s, Riley had lost its battle to remain independent and was part of the Nuffield Organisation by the decade's end. Rileys of the immediate post-war years were, nevertheless, recognisably products of the 'old firm'. Most popular of these was the 1.5 litre RMA sports saloon, which came with torsion bar independent front suspension, hydro-mechanical brakes and Riley's classic twin-camshaft, overhead-valve engine in four-cylinder guise. An improved version, the RME, with fully hydraulic brakes appeared in 1952 and continued in production until 1955.This example of a late Riley RME was first registered on 4th January 1955 and is presented in Brunswick Green over black coachwork with complementary green leather trim. This lovely well-maintained example shows the perfect balance of patina with the 1.5 litre engine starting on the button when inspected. The car is accompanied by a wealth of paperwork from invoices to owners' club magazines and even spares. 1995 Rolls-Royce Flying Spur Transmission: automaticMileage:18000The Rolls-Royce advertising logo of making the best cars in the world was certainly relevant when the Flying Spur model was launched. This model was not just the fastest or most expensive Rolls-Royce saloon to appear on the price list but was also the most exclusive, only produced for the 1995 model year, a total of 134 were produced, 92 in left hand drive and 42 in right hand drive being delivered from the factory in Crewe. Apart from the restriction in numbers produced it was the first Rolls-Royce with the turbo engine and was the most powerful model on the market at the time. The factory announced that although weighing in at 2387kg this model could propel itself to 60mph in a remarkable 6.9 seconds. This newly turbocharged engine also produced the greatest torque of any production car at the time and eclipsed even the McLaren F1 and Aston Martin Vantage. Essentially a Rolls-Royce with Bentley Turbo R running gear, the Flying Spur was more powerful and agile than a comparative Rolls-Royce Silver Spur III, on which the car was based on.This fantastic low mileage Flying Spur has covered a mere 18,000 miles and it was number 23 off the production line and was delivered to H.R. Owen Greenford on 25th January 1995 before being shipped to its first owner in Hong Kong later that year, the only year in which these cars were produced. The car is presented in Wildberry with a sumptuous Sandstone leather interior with Wildberry piping, lambswool rugs and accompanying silk privacy curtains, burr oak veneers and cocktail cabinet. Sitting in the rear 'as one should' is a real treat and should you require entertainment the inbuilt Sony VCR system can entertain you from the screens mounted in the headrests. Look up to the electronically operated sunroof, all options for which the car had to be sent to Rolls-Royce in house coachbuilders, Mulliner Park Ward to fit alongside the touring limousine rear window and rear blind. It is an open secret that the rejected leather from Rolls-Royce went to their competitor Bentley, which underlines once again what perfectionist Rolls-Royce were and this example is no exception. The woodwork was often sanded for a week to get it to the right level and the interior of any Flying Spur clearly provides a nod as to their targeted audience, those of significant wealth or notoriety and despite attempts the elusive previous owner is yet to accept our vendors invitation to be named. Options specified from the factory beyond the coachbuilt items also include adjustable rear seats, chrome door mirrors, uprated infotainment, veneered picnic tables, passenger airbag and rear quarter badges to name a few which can all found on the Rolls-Royce order sheets contained within the history file. Our owner and Rolls-Royce collector purchased this car in Hong Kong in late 2022 with the car imported to the UK earlier this year. All be it in very good condition, when purchased it was then swiftly mechanically recommissioned the works carried out includes and is not limited to replacement of all six ball joints to the front (top, lower and damper), replaced caster arm bushes, all front brake calipers (two calipers on each side) serviced, seals renewed and all front brake pads have been replaced. Brake Lines have also been replaced as have the rear suspension spheres and rear damper hydraulic seals. An oil and filter change was then supplemented by new alternator and fan belts and new wiper blades. This example has since been detailed and UK registered with the V5C registration document present. The Flying Spur featured a retractable Spirit of Ecstasy, the spring-loaded mascot sank into the radiator shell, this along with the first turbo engine and a host of Mulliner Park Ward coachbuilt options makes what we believe to be a very collectable car. One of just 42 produced in right hand drive and truly unique with a mysterious but clearly wealthy previous owner, viewing is strongly advised to appreciate the luxury which Rolls-Royce are famed for.

1968 Ford Mustang Fastback Transmission: automaticMileage:18133The Ford Mustang was the brainchild of Lee Iacocca and was branded as the first 'Pony Car', borne out of a need to compete with the flood of European sportscars coming into the USA in the sixties. The first production Mustang rolled off the assembly line in Dearborn, Michigan on 9th March 1964 and was introduced to the public at the New York World's Fair on 17th April 1964. Legendary Texan racing driver, Carroll Shelby had been campaigning Ford Mustangs with considerable success in America, winning the SCCA's production title three years running. Capitalising on his success, Shelby began manufacturing modified Mustangs, which were officially sanctioned by Ford and sold through selected dealerships. The first Shelby Mustang, the GT350, arrived in 1965 powered by a modified version of the Ford's 289ci, small block, V8 engine with a four-speed Borg Warner manual gearbox. This lovely 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback was import from Europe by a Swedish gentleman who had properties in both Sweden and the UK. Purchased by the current owner in 2021 and placed in his collection of American muscle cars, he only registered the car in the UK in June of this year. At some time, this Mustang has been gone through and up rated with a later 390GT big block V8 engine married to an automatic gearbox. Finished in silver with a burgundy interior, this very good Mustang Fastback is supplied with a V5C registration document, an MoT test certificate which expires in August 2024 and two sets of keys. This is a very useable Ford Mustang Fastback and is an ideal candidate for the possibility being rebuilt as a 'Eleanor' from the film 'Gone in 60 Seconds' or as a Steve McQueen 'Bullitt' recreation.

1975 BMW 2002 Transmission: manualMileage:1995BMW's director of product planning, Helmut Werner Bönsch and Alex von Falkenhausen, the designer of the BMW M10 engine, had both been owners of a 1600-2 (1602) and subsequently had both installed a two-litre engine in their respective cars. Following the realisation that they had both made the same modification, they prepared a joint proposal to BMW's board to manufacture a two-litre version of the 1602. At the same time, American importer Max Hoffman was asking BMW for a sporting version of the 02 series that could be sold in the United States. The 1990cc engine was made available in 1968 in two states of tune; the base single-carburettor 2002, producing 100bhp as in the 2000 and 2000C and the dual-carburettor high compression 2002Ti, producing 120bhp as in the 2000Ti and 2000CS, later a fuel injection model was introduced - the Tii.This very nice example of this iconic German classic was built in Germany and exported to California in 1975 and imported to the UK in 2018 and registered in 2019. It was then restored and rebuilt between 2019 and 2020. The car is presented in its original colour of Golf Yellow (resprayed in 2019 and invoice in the history file). The interior shows nice patina of light wear throughout, including the dash and a small tear in the driver's seat. The original radio is present but currently not operational and there is a selection of invoices for parts used in the restoration. It comes with a sunroof which is operated manually, thirteen inch alloys which are in good condition, a copy of the Californian title and its two litre engine is mated to a gearbox from a BMW 316 (E21), wooden three-spoke steering wheel and the headlining has been renewed. These are very 'retro' and popular BMWs, particularly when presented in the nostalgic Golf Yellow.

1982 Porsche 911 Targa Transmission: manualMileage:104418The iconic 911 can trace its history back some 44 years; its family tree containing such memorable cars as the 911S, the 2.7 Carrera RS and the notorious Turbo. The landmark SC replaced all non-Turbo 911s, first being presented to the general public at the 1977 Frankfurt Motor Show. Featuring 7Jx16 Fuchs rear rims and flared wings, it was offered in either Coupé or Targa form. Power came from the three litre Carrera engine, detuned to 180bhp and a five-speed 915 transmission. This was still good enough to return a 0-60mph time of 6.4 seconds and would propel the car on to a maximum of 144mph.Originally registered on 1st January 1982, this Porsche Targa presents in delightful condition. The coachwork is virtually unmarked as is the black and grey interior. Clearly this has been a very well looked after example, as confirmed by the significant history folder. The fastidious private owner talks with enthusiasm about this 911 Targa and clearly, he will be sad to see it go. We are advised NCF 681X drives with no known faults. Supplied with a V5C registration document, a current MoT test certificate valid until 25th June 2024 and a good history folder, this Porsche is a great example of the fast appreciating 1970's and 1980's 911.

1961 Ford Zephyr 6 Mk. II Convertible Transmission: automaticMileage:75472The Zephyr was first displayed at the Earls Court Motor Show in 1950. The Mk. I Zephyr and Zodiac were the first British cars to use the MacPherson strut independent front suspension in mass production. The Mk. II Zephyr and Zodiacs had shared the same body as the new Zodiac and Zephyrs launched in 1962 but shared very few body panels thereafter. The Mk. II range was much more popular.  A useful modernisation of the original car, the Mk. II added fins and chrome to the equation as well as more interior room. Ford's advertising referred to them as the 'Three Graces', implying a feminine and graceful nature. There is no doubt that the performance of the Zephyr and the Zodiac Series II models was restricted by the rudimentary exhaust system, but with a well-known, Raymond Mays complete engine conversion, it boosted their performance figures. Autocar Magazine recorded a standing quarter mile of 17.6s in 1957. As well as a three-speed manual gearbox, there was an optional overdrive and from 1956 a Borg Warner DG automatic transmission. At first, drum brakes were fitted all round but front discs became optional in 1960 and standard from mid 1961. A convertible with overdrive was tested by The Motor magazine in 1961; it had a top speed of 88.3mph and could accelerate from 0-60 mph in 17.0 seconds. The test car list price was £1,193.This delightful Zephyr 6 Convertible is in very good condition and is offered in Caribbean Turquoise over Dover White with matching trim. The car was restored in 2005 according to invoices contained within the history file. This car and a sister car were used by ZZ Cars for weddings and events throughout the 2000's before being sold to a Ford enthusiast in 2014. This three-speed manual example with optional overdrive also boasts a continental kit; this can be seen at the rear of the car, giving the Zephyr that iconic American look that was so sought after throughout the 1960's. The gearbox was rebuilt in 2016 and the car has been lovingly cherished by the vendor, always garaged and well cared for. More recently, the car has been garaged and cared for by the vendor and in 2016, he had the gearbox rebuilt. The manually operated roof is in good order and complements the fabulous look of the car. The Zephyr was an icon of British motoring at the time and they are widely recognised as a highly sought after classic marque.

1976 Mercedes-Benz 409 Fire Truck Camper Transmission: manualMileage:25000This fabulous bespoke 1976 Fire truck, now converted into a camper, is a super ECO model fitted with an LPG fuel system and solar panels which enables you to be completely off grid. Purchased from the German fire service in 2020 having covered very few miles, the truck has spent its life stored inside a fire station and therefore has remained in great condition. Unsurprisingly, it had been well maintained and was undersealed from new; the vendor even obtained the Mercedes service documents. Before the conversion began, all service work was completed with new filters, gearbox oil change, axle oil, brake fluid and antifreeze replaced, the fuel tank was cleaned, all brakes stripped and cleaned with Mercedes parts used and we are informed no expense was spared. The conversion retained the division from the back cab from the front so keeping full privacy when you sleep, with fantastic views when both shutters are opened. A full double bed on a platform is in the rear private section, with a projector screen so you can watch movies in bed. In the front cab there is a sofa which pulls out into a double bed creating the 'four berth' should it be required. The bodywork has benefitted from a complete respray inside and out and the vendor states that the engine starts every time and is incredibly reliable which is something you should expect from what was originally an emergency response vehicle! There is a touch screen pioneer sound system and sub-woofer with USB chargers and 13amp plugs combined with the solar panels, mains battery charger and 220 amp leisure battery with a ABSO split charge relay and 1500w inverter. There is also a 240v mains hook up, 240 isolator and fuse board. Outside under the Fiamma F45 awning there is an LED light and inside 12v dimmer lights. There is no indoor kitchen because the vendor preferred to cook outside with the full awning and fold up kitchen, but ultimately with the power options available, an induction cooker could be easily adapted to the front cabin should you wish. This petrol engine truck has a five-speed manual gearbox, which we are informed does 25/30 mpg with a switchable LPG tank so you can reduce the fuel bills on any long journey. Classified as an Historic vehicle, therefore no road tax or MoT test certificate are required. Used regularly throughout the pandemic with regular trips to Cornwall ever since, this is a great off-grid camper. It will sit comfortably at 50/60mph and spend all weekend as the coolest in the campsite! It is all about the experience and the fun of driving a fire engine. Weighing just 3.5 tonne it can also be driven on a regular license.Guide Price £12,000-£20,000

2004 Porsche 911 / 996 Turbo S Transmission: manualMileage:61800The 996 model is a superb car; quick, reliable, well-made and representing the birth of the water-cooled 911. With a wide range of models on offer, the most iconic is, of course, the Turbo. Featuring four-wheel drive and a 3.6 litre, intercooled engine derived from the 1998 Le Mans winning GT-1 car pushing out 420bhp and hitting 60mph in a whisker over four seconds, this is genuine supercar territory. The 996 was seen as a more relaxed and usable 911; however, in Turbo guise, the driver would get the best of both worlds; a luxury leather interior with every creature comfort combined with the ability to drop the hammer and reach a top speed of a claimed 190mph. In 2002, the X50 package was offered as an option on the Turbo that included larger K24 turbochargers and intercoolers, a revised ECU and quad-pipe exhaust which raised power output to 444bhp, however in 2005, Porsche introduced the Turbo S model available as either a coupé or cabriolet. The Turbo S was essentially a 996 turbo with the X50 option but also included PCCB, six-disc CD changer and aluminium-faced instruments. Worldwide production for the 996 Turbo S (including both Coupé and Cabriolet) was 1,563 cars. This makes this model very limited in numbers.A collectable and rare example of the 911 presented in Artic Silver with contrasting black leather trim, this example of the iconic Turbo S was first registered on 4th October 2004. Originally a Porsche Press car and featured in magazines, copies of which can be found in the history file. Costing when new a shade under £100,000, this example has covered a mere 61,800 miles and presents well for a privately owned example. Importantly, a manual example of the ultimate incarnation of the 996 Turbo, this is one of just 1,563 units produced of a desirable Turbo S boasting the X50 engine and believed to be one of less than 60 UK manual cars. Upon inspection it was advised the car would benefit from new tyres and a wheel refurbishment, but our vendor has sensibly taken this into account when pricing the car allowing a new owner to adorn the Turbo S with their own choice. The bodywork and trim are all in very good order and the car recently obtained an MoT test certificate which is valid until July 2024 with the only advisories regarding tyre wear. The car boasts just six former keepers in its 19 years along with the original magazine from its use a press car and a large folder of paperwork and invoices. We are informed the car drives very well and is still eye wateringly fast as it should and, as a flagship Turbo S made at the end of the 996 generation's life, comes with the X50 option pack as factory standard. This includes larger turbochargers and intercoolers that propel the car to 60mph in four seconds and combined with Porsche's excellent stability control, makes for a sensational and satisfying drive. This stunning example is an ideal usable modern classic investment that can be fully enjoyed at a fraction of the original cost.

1995 Bentley Brooklands Transmission: automaticMileage:68315By the end of the 1980s, Rolls-Royce's rebranding of Bentley which begun in 1982 with the launch of the Mulsanne Turbo had proved an outstanding success. However, the sales graph that had climbed steadily upwards until reaching a peak in 1989 only to plunge dramatically because of economic recession. Rolls-Royce responded by dropping the normally aspirated Mulsanne and Eight models and introduced the Brooklands in 1992. It was intended as a slightly cheaper alternative to the Bentley Turbo R, featuring the same styling and underpinnings of the Rolls-Royce 6.75 litre, V8 engine but without the more powerful model's turbocharger. It also retained the R's sport suspension and adaptive damping control. First seen in the Continental R, the Brooklands' new four speed automatic transmission boasted a floor-mounted shift lever, in keeping with the marques sporting traditions. The Brooklands continued Bentley's design theme which was also used on contemporary Rolls-Royce vehicles throughout the 1980s and early 1990s. The exterior design featured the classic Bentley grille as well as dual headlights with wrap-around parking lights. The interior remained relatively unchanged from previous Bentley models but with a more curvaceous design element surrounding the leather-wrapped centre console. This very good, relatively low mileage, 1995 Bentley Brooklands was supplied by Hadley Green Garage, Barnet, Hertfordshire and was maintained by them for the first 32,000 miles up to 1997. It was then maintained by Straight Eight to 54,750 miles and last serviced by them in 2002. Then serviced by Stewart Walker in 2007 at 61,425 miles and again in 2011 at 63,688 miles. Purchased by the previous owner in 2000 who kept the car in his collection for nearly twenty-three years, it was purchased by the current owner and put into his collection of classic cars in Hampshire. Finished in Peacock Blue with a blue leather interior piped in magnolia, this lovely Bentley Brooklands is supplied with a V5C registration document, an MoT test certificate which expires in January 2024, a complete handbook pack including the service book and a set of blue over rugs. This Brooklands offers outstanding value for money given the eyewatering cost when new.

1986 BMW E28 M535i Transmission: manualMileage:109566The E28 BMW 5-Series, released in September 1981, was BMW's breakthrough executive saloon. Designed by the iconic BMW designer Claus Luthe, the E28 was initially sold with a combination of four and six-cylinder engines, but in 1984 BMW revealed the very first M5 at the Amsterdam motor show. When it was launched 42 years ago, the new BMW E28 5-Series looked like little more than a facelifted BMW E12 5-Series, a car that had been around since 1972. The E12 had earned itself a fine reputation as a well-made, mid-range saloon that ranged from the 518 to the hot-rodded 528i and M535i.The E28 5-Series range started with the 518, powered by a 90bhp four-cylinder known by its M10 engine code. A 518 with optional five-speed gearbox and power steering was next up the chain, followed by six-cylinder cars, all with five speeds and PAS, with the 125bhp M20 520i and 150bhp M30 525i, plus the 184bhp M30 528i with standard alloy wheels and electric front windows. A three-speed ZF automatic box was optional on all six-cylinder cars as well. The 535i came in two forms, the M535i with the plastic bodykit (bumpers, sills and arch spats) and special metric wheels, plus a metal-bumper version that looked like most other models but had the same special wheels and arch spats. Both models had the Bilstein dampers and M Technic suspension. The M535i was by far the more popular model; the metal bumper version was discontinued but remained available to special order and was renamed 535i SE. This is an exceptional unmolested example of the super cool E28 M535i with the all-important dog leg first gearbox. We are informed the car has led a very gentle life and has been maintained exceptionally well by the fastidious owner while sitting on original old stock E28 M5 wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport tyres. The Diamond Black bodywork is beautiful after a significant body restoration costing in excess of £10,000, all the floors are solid and jacking points excellent. The invoices for recent maintenance are endless but include, a new master cylinder, accumulator, bushes, exhaust, shock absorbers, viscous fan, front brake calipers, rear main seal, new control arms, plus much more. Boasting a great specification including electric sunroof, rear head rests, on board computer, head light wash wipe, rear blind and a Blaupunkt Bremen radio to give you the period look but with modern functionality. Present is a great service history with ample service and parts invoices, original dealer plates and the vendor who has owned the car for the last four years assures us it drives faultlessly and is ready to enjoy and impress at any car show. The original full book pack is there with original dealer cards and service book. With an MoT test certificate valid until March 2024, this is a very well 'sorted' and exceptionally well presented example of one of the 80's most iconic cars. * Interested parties should note that the private registration plate shown is to be retained by the vendor and a new, age-related registration issued instead

2000 Rolls-Royce Silver Seraph Transmission: automaticMileage:43000Unveiled in March 1998, the Silver Seraph replaced the Silver Spur. All Seraphs were hand built at the Rolls-Royce factory in Crewe, England, which stopped making Rolls-Royce models in 2002 but continued with Bentley. The car had a base price of £155,175 in the UK and was powered by a 5.4 litre, aluminium alloy, BMW V12 engine making it the first twelve-cylinder Rolls-Royce since the 1939 Phantom III. Standard electronics included digital engine management, adaptive ride control and anti-lock brakes and, aside from the radiator grille, badges and wheels, the Rolls-Royce was externally identical to the contemporary Bentley Arnage sharing both its platform and bodyshell. Inside, the Silver Seraph and the Bentley Arnage were similar but quite distinct from one another. In the Seraph, the gear selector was column mounted, and the gauges followed a traditional Rolls-Royce layout (for example, there was no tachometer). In both cars, the seats and dashboard were upholstered in Connolly leather and glossy burr walnut veneer and featured folding picnic trays for rear passengers. This superb, later example of this truly luxurious model is presented in probably the best colour combination of Fountain Blue metallic with a cream leather interior. It also has the white indicator lenses, front and rear parking sensors and 100mm extra leg room in the rear. The car has had four owners from new and the mileage is genuine, this is backed up by evidence of regular servicing by Bentley specialists (11 services altogether) with a service being carried out in May 2022 at 40,287 miles and more recently the present owner has spent circa £6000 with Edd Watson and Son specialists where it was serviced which entailed the brakes were replaced, nipples and tubing to brakes, oil filter changes and all fluids. The underneath of the car was cleaned and waxed, also the bodywork was cleaned and coated (£750). The car's interior is in excellent condition and it comes with four very good Avon whitewall tyres, and satellite navigation. It also has carpet footrests to the rear, adjustable steering column/wheel, air conditioning, in car entertainment (radio/CD autochanger), seat lumber support and heated seats front and rear. Interested parties should note that the private registration plate is to be retained by the vendor and a new, age-related registration issued instead. A new V5 registration document has been applied for with the DVLA which may not arrive by the time of the auction.

1975 Triumph Stag Transmission: automaticMileage:87336The 'Stag' name was a development codename allocated when the design project was initiated by Giovanni Michelotti in 1965. The svelte Michelotti styling married to decadent V8 power makes this model both beautiful to look at and enormous fun to drive. Add to that a thriving club network, these cars make for hugely desirable ownership.Registered new on 9th April 1975, this lovely Triumph Stag has had just four owners from new and is an automatic example. Presented in blue coachwork over a black interior the Stag presents very well indeed, the paintwork is in very good condition as is the interior and engine bay. The Stag has been in the current vendors ownership for over 24 years! During which time it has been maintained to a high standard with various general work and a restoration being undertaken. In 1990 the body was the subject of a restoration where it was taken back to bare metal and repaired where necessary and resprayed in the wonderful blue coachwork you see today. Fitted with a desirable factory hardtop and offered with a sizeable history file including almost all old MoT test certificates, the V5C registration document, photographs and invoices of the restoration, and sundry bills including an invoice for circa £7,500. This is a very well-presented example that is largely original, one which we believe will be keenly contested at auction.

1961 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II Transmission: automaticMileage:19971The release of the Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud and Bentley 'S' series in 1955 was surely one of the main reasons behind the demise of most of the few remaining coachbuilders still producing bodies for Rolls-Royce and Bentley chassis. The Silver Cloud with a beautifully proportioned body, was a car which looked so 'right' that there was little incentive for customers to order bespoke coachwork, and therefore soon afterwards both Freestone & Webb and Hooper ceased coachbuilding. The Silver Cloud II was introduced in 1959 replacing the Silver Cloud I. Little changed externally but it featured the 6.2 litre V8 engine. Performance was greatly improved and the top speed was now raised to 114mph. The main improvements though were in acceleration and torque. Power steering became standard and electrically operated windows were now available as an option. This Silver Cloud II had led quite an interesting life. It was owned by Christopher Leefe between 1974-2008, who is best known as the author of the Rolls-Royce Alpine Compendium, of which a signed 1st edition copy is included in the sale. Mr Leefe relocated to Germany at some point in the cars past and decided to take the car with him. During its time in Germany, it was cared for by British car specialists M + R Automobile in Günding, just north of Munich. There are several invoices from M + R Automobile, including one for some comprehensive restoration work carried out in 2007. The car comes with an extensive history file, with many invoices dating back to 2000. Also included in the sale are copies of the extensive factory build sheets detailing all dates at various stages of the manufacturing process, a Silver Cloud II brochure and an original,  bound owner's manual. The toolkit is also believed to be the original and the vendor informs us that it is complete. The overall condition of the car is very good, the bulk of the restoration work was carried out some 16 years ago now, but it was clearly done to a high standard as it has held up well. The interior appears to be original, offering a very nicely patinated feel without the need for any urgent attention. The paintwork has a good shine and the two-tone colour scheme which the car wears today suits it perfectly. The car has been upgraded with electronic ignition and a stainless steel exhaust. A new battery was fitted in September 2022 and the car has covered just 500 miles since its most recent service. The Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud is possibly one of the most elegant luxury cars on the market and represents amazing value for money. Offered to auction due to a house move, this example will be missed by its owner but it is ready for its next custodian to enjoy.

2006 Ferrari F430 Spider Transmission: manualMileage:25347The Ferrari F430 was produced by Ferrari from 2004 to 2009. A successor to the Ferrari 360, it debuted at the 2004 Paris Motor Show. Designed by Pininfarina, under the guidance of Frank Stephenson, the body styling of the F430 was revised from its predecessor, the Ferrari 360, to improve its aerodynamic efficiency. Although the drag coefficient remained the same, downforce was greatly enhanced. Despite sharing the same basic Alcoa aluminium chassis, roof line, doors and glass, the car looked significantly different from the 360. A great deal of Ferrari heritage was included in the exterior design. At the rear, the Enzo's tail lights and interior vents were added and the car's name was etched into the Testarossa-styled driver's side mirror. The large oval openings in the front bumper were reminiscent of Ferrari racing models from the 60s, specifically the 156 'sharknose' Formula One car and 250 TR61 Le Mans cars of Phil Hill. This Ferrari F430 Spider was originally registered on 28th April 2006. It is finished in the fabulous colour combination of Grigio Silverstone and Sand interior. The specification is good with the car having been fitted with the following options when new; aluminium brake calipers, electric seats, Suderia badges and a high-power stereo system. The condition is certainly commensurate with the cars low mileage, the car is kept in professional storage facilities when not being used. This is a genuine UK supplied right hand drive example and has the attractive benefit of being fitted with a manual gearbox. These are great fun cars to drive with ample power available under your right foot and an engine note that puts a smile on your face. 1979 Ferrari 308 GT4 Dino Transmission: manualMileage:63000The 308 GT4 was a ground-breaking model for Ferrari in several ways; it was the first production Ferrari to feature the mid-engined V8 layout that would become the bulk of the company's business in subsequent decades and was the first production Ferrari to feature Bertone (rather than Pininfarina) bodywork. The GT4 was introduced at the Paris Motor Show in November 1973 and featured angular lines entirely different from its curvaceous two-seater brother, the Dino 246. The styling was controversial at the time with some journalists comparing it to the Bertone-designed Lancia Stratos and Lamborghini Urraco. It finally gained the 'Prancing Horse' badge in May 1976 which replaced the Dino badges on the bonnet, wheels, and the steering wheel. The chassis was based on the Dino 246 but was stretched to make room for the second row of seats. The overall cockpit design was considered futuristic matched by external wind-cheating bodywork. The desirability levels of these Ferraris are quietly ballooning with prices, quite rightly, following suit.Finished in the perfect combination of Rosso Chiaro 599. 5. 190 Salchi with Pelle Sabbia VM 3234 and Alcantara inserts, this example of the V8 308 GT4 Dino presents with beautiful originality. The car currently resides on brand new 16 Superformance original five-spoke design alloys in gold and is currently fitted with a 'quick' steering rack, the original is available with the car as are the original 14 wheels. An original right hand drive UK supplied example, this stunning Dino was subject to Classiche evaluation by Ferrari in 2009 and has been certified ever since. Since purchasing the car in 1985, the second owner had ensured that Graypaul Ferrari of Nottingham cared for the car continuously, earning and ensuring its ongoing Classiche status. Further to this yearly maintenance, Graypaul also bestowed on the car a full engine and gearbox rebuild, with clutch replacement, within the last five years. Complete with a wonderful box full of history including two large folders, Classiche folder, along with Ferrari parts catalogue and workshop manual, the original tools also accompanying the car. You would be hard pressed to find a better example, something Ferrari Classiche can certify to.

1985 Land Rover 90 Transmission: manualMileage:92669The 1985 Land Rover 90 is an iconic off-road vehicle that embodies ruggedness and adventure. This compact 4x4 boasts a timeless design characterized by its boxy silhouette, signature grille, and durable construction. Powered by a range of engines, including diesel and petrol options, it offered reliable performance in various terrains. This impressive Land Rover has just benefitted from a full restoration to the very popular heritage style. The starting point for this work was a solid 1985 registered 90 model that underwent an overhaul of the bulkhead and galvanising of the chassis which was then raptor coated for extra protection and rugged appearance. New brake lines, fuel tank, tow bar and drop hitch were fitted as well as new steering bars, sump guard, suspension springs and shock absorbers and galvanised shock towers. Waxoil was then applied for even greater protection. The body has been fully disassembled, repaired and painted in Atlantic Green, and then painstakingly re-assembled nut bolt and rivet, all catches, hinges, and any other fittings overhauled. All new window rubbers, door rubbers, gaskets and seals were added. The interior was kept as basic as possible but trying to encorporate comfort to, with that in mind a new set of Exmoor trim seat covers were fitted. The specification includes heated front seats, rear fold benches, floor mats, CD player and hidden speaker. It could possibly benefit from a new pair of door cards as they have a few small marks on them from seatbelts. The engine, gearbox and axles have been fully serviced. The exterior of the vehicle is very detailed and features front heritage grille and heritage badge, LED headlights , full LED light kit all round with rear floodlights that we are informed are incredible. The list continues with a set of five wolf steel wheels fitted with a new set of Goodyear wrangler tyres as per factory specification, puma bonnet, chequer wing tops, wing vents, series bezels and a galvanised bumper. A black roof with a sunroof was chosen to make it a little different from the rest. Old style doors with the stronger door handles complete the retro look. With a restoration cost in excess of £25,000 this land Rover deserves serious investigation by any interested party.

1989 Bentley Continental Transmission: automaticMileage:62790A key factor in Rolls-Royce's marketing strategy for the 1980s was the re-launch of Bentley. To rekindle interest in the marque, a glorious name from its past was resurrected - 'Continental' - and applied to the two-door model previously known, like its Rolls-Royce equivalent, as the Corniche. An inspired move, the Bentley's 1984 name change had the desired effect; sales, which in the 13 years since the Corniche's launch had amounted to just 77 Bentley-badged cars, totalling 421 for the succeeding 11 years of Continental production. This superb looking example is finished in dark blue metallic over a magnolia leather trim and is complemented with a dark blue mohair hood covering. The condition of this Bentley is very good throughout, the coachwork is in superb order retaining a deep shine and shows very few blemishes as to the interior which is in fine fettle. Reported to run and drive very well indeed, this Continental has recently been driven circa 500 miles without fault. Offered from a private collection this Bentley comes complete with an extensively documented service history with all keys, books, tools, and is kept in the finest order by our vendor. This rare beast is one of the best we have seen and is an opportunity not to be missed. Interested parties should note that a bespoke leather luggage set has been made for the car and is available by separate negotiation.Interested parties should note that contrary to the catalogue description the vehicle details below are correct;Registration number: G573 KOE / Chassis number: SCBZD00AXKCH29277 / Engine number: 68272LL101/9

Babbage, Charles (1791-1871) Autograph letter signed on his 'calculating engine' 1 Dorset Street, Manchester Square, [London], 30 May 1834, to Dunbar James Douglas, 6th Earl of Selkirk (1809-1885), inviting him to a lecture ('Having learned from the Duke of Somerset that you have a great desire to see the Calculating engine I am happy to offer you an opportunity which will I hope be interesting. Lord and Lady Lansdowne and a very small party are coming to my house tomorrow evening at half past nine and Dr [Dionysius] Lardner has sent his drawings and will give us a popular explanation of it ...'), signed 'C Babbage', 1 page, addressed on verso of conjugate blank ('To the Earl of Selkirk')Note: Note: The father of computing makes a last-ditch attempt to drum up aristocratic support presumably for the doomed Difference Engine No. 1, with the project months away from its final collapse. The manufacturing engineer Joseph Clement had ceased work on the project in March 1833 following a financial dispute. He had, however, succeeded by 1832 in producing a fully functioning demonstration piece representing about one-seventh of the whole machine, which as the first known automatic calculator 'ranks among the most celebrated icons in the prehistory of computing' (ODNB). Babbage himself published little on the design of either his difference or analytical engines, but he received prominent support from the Irish writer on science Dionysius Lardner, who in 1834 delivered a series of lectures on the difference engine and contributed a lengthy article on the subject, titled 'Babbage’s Calculating Engine', to the Edinburgh Review.
