Bugatti Magnum by Hugh Conway, 1989, retaining its distinctive engine-turned slipcase and chassis plate numbered 1987. A comprehensive look at Bugatti history, the family, the cars, the company, the mechanics and the racing. The book ends with a list of racing successes, a register of chassis numbers and a bibliography. Limited to 2,000 numbered copies, 560 pages, 800 monochrome and 73 colour illustrations. In excellent condition.
Rolls-Royce Aero Engine Instruction Book for the Eagle Series 1, dated October 1916. A rare 176pp book with well-defined images of parts, detailed instructions and explanations. Bound in brown buckram with penny corners. Also, a similar rare book for the Eagle Series 1 to 8 and the Falcon Series 1,2 & 3, the book dated December 1917 and similarly bound and titled, 116pp with index. Both books in good, clean, unmolested condition. (2)
Sheffield-Simplex at Wentworth Woodhouse. A row of motor cars with armaments in tow pictured outside of the home of Earl Fitzwilliam. Framed and glazed, 30 x 50cms, with a manuscript caption. Also, an Imperial Airways poster, a 1977 Sotheby auction poster, a group of small 'Cripps' photographs pasted to a board and an engineer's drawing of a six-cylinder engine, the latter framed and glazed. 1923 La Buire of Lyon A cord-tied 16pp landscape-format brochure with two-tone images of coachwork with prices and specifications; also, a two-fold leaflet and a similar period 8pp monochrome leaflet from a similar period. Together with a 20hp Mors brochure for the English market, 8pp with chassis drawings and engine detail, and significant in these days of electric cars, Woods Dual Power, a scientific motor-car 'Electrically Controlled by and Gas and Electricity' a three-fold c1915 brochure with colour images and specifications. All in fair condition, some soiling. (5)
Samuel Rushmore Lamp Set A pre-WWI set, comprising a pair of 10-inch acetylene gas projectors retaining their undamaged Mangin rear reflectors, correct and patented heat resilient front glasses, 8½-inch mounting centres and burner holders. Together with complimentary acetylene gas 'Shaking Grate' generator, with correct-style iron mounting brackets and all fittings for Carbide of Calcium and water reaction. Polished brass, the set comes with the remains of another generator. Ideal for mounting on a period chassis with an aero engine. (4)
Bethlehem Motor Trucks An unusual and original war time advertisement for the American truck and tractor manufacturer. Framed and glazed, the printed sheet appears to be mounted on card. Truck manufacture began in 1917, with 11?4-ton trucks powered by Golden, Belknap and Swartz engines, and a 21?4-ton vehicle using a North American engine. The smaller models cost $1,245; the larger models $1,775 and maximum speeds were between 12 and 18 mph. The image 31 x 21 cms.
Aviation postcards - A collection of early 20th century aeronautical themed postcards, comprising 24 postcards by Raphael Tuck & Sons; J. Salmon, etc, to include 2-engine Handley Page; 4-engine Handley Page; Seaplane Type 504 L; Sopwith "GNU"; Sopwith "DOVE"; Avro Biplane 504K; THE "de HAVILLAND" or Air-Co etc., some with handwritten descriptions and information to pages opposite.
A George V engine turned silver and rose gold case, Percy Edwards Ltd., London 1912, rectangular form with rounded corners, applied rose gold monogram, hinge and push opening button, opening to reveal gilt interior each side with removable frame, 5¼in. (13.4cm.) long, weight 6.7 tr.oz. * Appears to be in very good condition with very little wear.
A set of four George III silver open salts, Robert Hennel I & Samuel Hennel, London 1804, of bun / cauldron form with floral and foliate scroll decoration, each with shaped vacant cartouche, the stepped foot and wide rim with engine turned decoration, gilt interiors, 2 5/8in. (6.6cm.) diameter, 1¾in. (4.5cm.)high, weight 13.0 tr.oz. * Three with tiny holes to bellies at high points (flower heads etc), one with 5mm hole besides cartouche and large hole to belly all due to polishing, each having tiny dents etc, still pleasing to the eye
A George VI silver framed easel mirror, Mappin & Webb, Birm. 1939, the rectangular bevelled plate within an engine turned frame with arched top and flared feet, on a wooden easel back, 14in. (35.5cm.) high. * Good condition, with no damage to silver. Marks good. Easel back has some polish loss to the hinged section but otherwise good.
Two Parker 61 Presidential 18ct gold fountain pens, one in aqua with engine turned decoration, hallmarked London 1973; the other in maroon with 'water drop' engine turned decoration, London 1969; together with an 18ct gold Presidential Parker 61 ballpoint to match the aqua fountain pen, London 1973; and an 18ct gold Presidential Parker 61 propelling pencil with engine turned decoration, London 1966; housed in a four compartment rectangular amethyst case with purple velvet lining, 6 x 4¼ x 1 3/8in. (15.2 x 10.8 x 3.5cm.). (5) * Condition: No engraved initials to any of the pens. - Aqua fountain pen: Slight rubbing to halmarks but clearly legible. Gold is free from any dings. Light scratching from use and small scratches to plastic end caps. Aqua coloured nib section has a patch of damage to the surface of the plastic behind the nib - there is a small blue ink stain above this, so may have been an old attempt to remove staining. Old caked ink around nib. - Maroon fountain pen: Good condition. No damage to gold. Plastic section good with just light scratching from use. Old caked red ink around nib. - Ballpoint: Good condition with no faults. - Pencil: Small ding to barrel. Otherwise good. - Amethyst box: Several natural cracks to the stone. No chips or losses. Interior good. Damp spotting to blue baize to underside.
A 1920s gentleman's Rolex 9ct gold manual wind wrist watch, inside case back numbered 3942A, signed 15 jewel engine turned movement, 28mm. silvered dial with subsidiary seconds and black Arabic numerals, blued steel hands, plain 9ct gold 31.5mm. case with engraved monogram to case back, later brown leather strap. * Winds and runs. Small surface rust spot to crown wheel. Very light surface rust to balance top. Dial slightly tarnished around edges and small scratch to centre. Some small scratches across glass. General light scratching to case. Strap good.
A Georgian silver vinaigrette, marks indistinct, maker 'JW', of small oval form with concave base, ornate engine turned decoration to hinged cover, gilt interior, the inner cover with pierced floral decoration, 1¼in. (3.2cm.) long, weight 0.34 tr.oz., faults. * Both the inner and outer hinges broken (detached), hallmarks rubbed.
An Edwardian silver engine turned double sovereign holder, maker's mark 'HH', Birmingham 1909, of shaped bean form, with ornate engine turned decoration and circular inscribed 'TB' cartouche, with hanging loop, 2 38in. (6cm.) long without loop, weight 0.93 tr.oz. * Push button opening not working, multiple dents and squashed.

Manton Ltd., Birmingham 1944; an unusual filigree cheroot holder; a silver Yard-O-Lead pencil; a mother of pearl and silver folding fruit knife; button hook; a ring; and a miniature basket, gross weight 7.8 tr.oz. (qty) * All pieces appear good, no large dents or splits found.

ERIC COX WITH BEST WISHES FROM "DELEK" JUNE 1959', 6¾in. (17cm.) long, gross weight 25.2 tr.oz. * Very good condition, strong hinge, nothing to note.

(4) * Cigarette box with dents to corners and edges, rubbed hallmarks, other pieces good with light wear and tiny nibbles etc, overall good.
