Off the road for numerous years, although still running, this Mercedes 190E 2.5-16 is in need of some attentionIntroduced in 1988, the second-generation 190E Cosworth was powered by a 2498cc, 16-valve inline-four, producing (when new) some 204bhp and driving the rear wheels via a five-speed Getrag ‘dog-leg’ manual gearboxIn period, it was capable of 0-60 in 7.1 second and over 150mphIt's finished in Black Pearl metallic over an Anthracite leather-trimmed interior, offset by carbon-look trim around the gear leverAfter-market upgrades include 18-inch Wolfrace alloys, a Momo steering wheel, and rear light clusters (original steering wheel and light clusters are included)Supplied with numerous invoices from its time on the road and previous MOTsWe encourage your viewing at our NEC Sale to establish just how much work will be required to return this desirable Mercedes to top form Specification Make: MERCEDES BENZ Model: 190E 2.5-16 Year: 1989 Chassis Number: WDB2010352F650370 Registration Number: G462 ESB Transmission: Manual Engine Number: 102990200018789 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 211932 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: BlackClick here for more details and images
A genuine, UK-supplied, right-hand drive, Side Oil-Fill 911T, road-registered and powered by a Bob Watson 2.7-litre 250bhp, RSR-spec, MFI power unit. According to its accompanying Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, this smart, original right-hand drive 911T was completed on 01/02/1972, finished in Silver Metallic (8080) with a black leatherette/dogtooth inserts interior and optioned with sport seats, rear wiper and tinted windows before being despatched to Porsche Cars GB and subsequently UK-registered as PGC 689KSome of this cars early history is detailed in the 'Sellers Rating' but, whilst in the ownership of Liam Dowling, Bob Watson was commissioned to rebuild the engine to 2.7-litre RSR-spec (over £20,000 in the 1990s!)Running mechanical fuel-injection, the Dyno report indicates an output of just over 250bhp; very competitive in 911 club racingRecent work includes a major service, new spark plugs, oil filter, fuel filter, fresh brake fluid, replace the rocker covers and fit a Stormski short-shift gear selector and precise couplerThe nicely bound history file contains lots of invoices for parts and works completed, its Competition Log Book from September 2000, correspondence, and a fairly comprehensive list of previous keepersThis is a fast, early UK right-hand drive 911 in a super colour, on the button with a powerful RSR-spec engine, great handling and in the right hands, will continue to be competitive for years to come. As a non-sunroof, side oil-fill car with competition history it might be worth thinking about returning the car to original spec and pursuing FIA status, however, as a race car or a fast-road 911 it appears attractively estimated, considering its specification and provenanceSpecification Make: PORSCHE Model: 911T 2.4 Year: 1972 Chassis Number: 9112500845 Registration Number: PGC 689K Transmission: Manual Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 25392 Miles Make: RHDClick here for more details and images

Bill Monk-built (WAM), F1 inspired, two-seat road-legal special with Fiat 1500 motivation recently refreshed to running order. Offered without Reserve. For many years, well known 1950s sports car racer and Aston Martin aficionado, the late Bill Monk, ran a business creating superb replicas (tributes) to Aston’s legendary DB3S. The cars were sold as W.A.M. (Bill’s initials) and 11 were built in total. Here at Iconic we have had the pleasure of selling one of these and the build quality was remarkableThe two-seat Fiat Special on offer here was originally built at WAM and is a one-off. We suspect that it was the prototype for a possible kit-car production run but don’t knowIt appears to have been conceived as a larger version of the Caterham/ Lotus 7 with tandem seating, Fiat running gear and styling influences from March, Tyrell and Yardley BRM F1 carsA spaceframe was constructed from 2" square tubing and clothed in a unique fibreglass body. Power was provided by a Fiat X1/9 1,498cc SOHC four-cylinder offering 85bhp @6000rpm mated to a five-speed gearbox. (In this case, with twin Webers and a tubular exhaust manifold, it’s 100bhp). With 190bhp/tonne available, it’s undoubtedly quickWe understand that many years ago Bill Monk gifted the car to our vendor's father (who’s company built a number of chassis for WAM) and he in turn gave it to his sonIn preparation for the sale the WAM Fiat Special, as it was known in period, is running and driving, has seat belts and an MOT and is road-legal. Could be a lot of fun.Specification Make: FIAT WAM Model: WAM SPECIAL Year: 1980 Chassis Number: 0118728 Registration Number: LKX 377V Transmission: Manual Engine Number: 3661188 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 22 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: BlackClick here for more details and images

A 10" fragment from the St. Ives lifeboat wrecked on the 23rd January 1939 with the loss of seven crew, "The worst Cornish lifeboat disaster since 1900 occurred in a gale swept bay off St. Ives in the early hours of Monday morning 23rd January 1939 driving mountainous seas into the bay - the St. Ives lifeboat John and Sarah Eliza Stych, temporarily on loan from the Padstow station, was launched to go to the assistance of a ship at sea. When she was within a mile and a half of Clodgy Point, the boat was struck by a great sea which immediately upset her throwing four of her occupants including coxswain Tom Cocking into the raging waters. Flares were sent up by those who remained in the boat and the engine was restarted but the propeller has been fouled by a lifeline which made the engine useless. For a second time the boat was overturned and a man was thrown out. Of the remaining three, two were pitched into the sea when the boat capsized for a third time, close now to Godrevy" This fragment of the St. Ives lifeboat is sold with original newspapers covering the story at the time together with a selection of research photographs prepared by the Williams family who assisted the rescue and recovery at the time.
