Silver cased travel clock, engine turned decoration raised on bun feet, French time piece, white enamel dial with black Roman numerals. Assay marked London 1919. 70mm high 45mm long 40mm wide The case of the clock is in very good condition with no repairs, dents or splits to the silver. Handle is intact. Clock face has a hairline to left hand side and rough edge to enamel at very centre of dial. Winder handle is missing its pin but the handle is there. Wheel doesn't appear to be moving so clock isn't currently ticking.
18 carat gold cigar pricker, with an engine turned removable cover and the pricker inside, the cover with Alan engraved, 8.2 grams the cover weight From the estate of the Late Alan SearleAlan was private secretary to William Somerset-Maugham and subsequently had a relationship with the Author until his death in 1965The vendor states The Jade & Gold cufflinks were a gift from William Somerset-Maugham to Alan Searle as was the Cigar Piercer. Alan certainly wore the Fob Watch and my mother recalled him wearing it during several of her visits when they had dinner together. The gold box was a gift to Maugham and was passed to Alan on Maugham's death. My mother kept the box by her at all times in her handbag. The crest is that of Maugham.
