A Davenport caneware baluster water jug with independent decoration attributed to Robert Allen, painted with a figure before a bathing machine, coastal shipping in the distance and to one side indistinctly inscribed Trifle.........Lowestoft, above an engine-turned basket weave lower section and blue enamel rims and borders, height 14cm., impressed mark, circa 1810 (extensive wear, some stains and restoration).
