Twin fuel tanks.MG produced many new sporting cars throughout the 1930’s and used racing versions of many types to improve the quality and reliability of their road going versions, on many occasions, success on the track also helped sales of their regular products.The MG PA was built between 1934 and 1936 and utilised an updated version of the Wolseley Motors-designed and made overhead camshaft, crossflow engine, used in the 1928 Morris Minor and previously fitted in the J-type Midget of 1932 to 1934.The engine used was of 874cc capacity.MG built 8 Q-type racing cars in 1934 which used a K3 chassis but with narrower N-type axles. The engines were modified PA-type units with revised crankshafts to reduce the capacity to 746cc to allow the cars to compete in 750cc events. These engines were also fitted with superchargers and pre-select gearboxes, power output of these units were stated to be 113bhp at a higher 7200 rpm. Please click film icon above to see video of car running.Further details and information have now been obtained regarding this exceptionally fine restoration and creation of an iconic MG sporting model Q type evocation.The deceased owner / restorer of this car had completed several restoration projects over the years, his previous MG was also a PA type which he purchased in pieces from the well renown MG specialist Barry Bone in 1986, that car, Chassis No. PA1208 was sold for cash and partial exchange for the current MG PA chassis no. PA1366. Unfortunately, we have no record of what condition our sale car was in when acquired but we do have a file detailing the suppliers used and their invoices for work or services provided. A summary of these items accompanies this catalogue entry (final image). The total expenditure recorded exceeds £32,500.Along with the invoices on file, there is a Workshop manual, an Instruction Book for the MG Midget 1934 to 1945, Service parts list for the PA & PB Midget, Suppliers catalogues and Drawings made by the owner for the bespoke manufacture of several parts. A copy of the 2014 Triple "M" Register booklet (issue 20.0) in which this car is recorded.

A LHD Alfa Romeo Giulietta Ti Type 101 Reg No. DYE 331C1290ccChassis No. AR 221797Engine No. 25599Blue 4 door Saloon (Berlina).This car was imported from Italy and first registered in the UK in 1965, but the vehicle is pre 1965. The Guilietta range of cars were introduced in 1954, the first 4 door saloon appeared in 1955 and continued through to 1965. Alfa’s of this period were technically advanced, using a unitary body design featuring front suspension with control arms with coaxial springs and hydraulic dampers, rear solid axle with coil springs. The rear axle was located by a longitudinal link on each side, and by a wishbone-shaped arm linking the top of the aluminium differential housing to the chassis.The engine is a 1290cc all aluminium twin overhead camshaft design which in “Ti” specification produces 73 bhp at 6200 rpm and giving a quoted top speed of 96 mph.This LHD Alfa is believed to have been imported in around the early 2000’s, subsequently, the car went under a comprehensive rebuild by its engineer owner including a full body and mechanical restoration. The car was resprayed and interior refurbished. More recently, the twin cam engine has been rebuilt due to a cylinder head gasket failure. Starting promptly and running smoothly on inspection the car shows good oil pressure with no untoward mechanical noise.The paintwork is still in good condition but does have some small areas where the paint has been affected by being under a close fitting cover. Chrome work is generally very good with some small imperfections on the centre of the front bumper. Interior is in neat and standard order.A very rare car in the UK but with plenty of support from specialist suppliers here and abroad, this vehicle will please any classic enthusiast.
