1985 Honda CT125 Farm Bike Reg Number: B502 VKL Frame Number: CT125 1100790 Engine Number: CT125E 1100790 - Very rare farm bike in the UK, overhauled engine. Honda decided to develop a 'go anywhere' machine with equipment to do all sorts of jobs around the farm or estate, where horses were considered the only way to get to difficult places via rough roads. Enter the CT125 Farm Bike. Honda first used the CT design in 1964 with the 90cc CT200, more commonly later known as CT90. Good for exploring woods and forest paths, hills and mountains, the adventure bike was born. In 1971 the model was upgraded to a 125cc OHC engine, and a large luggage rack, which usually ended up with a large plastic crate on it. A fully enclosed chaincase was also fitted, to protect when riding through mud and water. There was also a very useful side stand on each side so the rider could disembark on either side if the terrain was uneven. A 19 inch front wheel was also fitted rather than a standard off road 21 inch wheel. The transmission was also very different, with lower first 3 gears to give more low down power on difficult terrain. The majority of these machines went to America, New Zealand and other places of vast farmland. A handful found their way to English shores, and this is one of them. This machine has been overhauled by the vendor and is described as in good running condition with a valid MoT to April 2025. A rare and unique bike, usefully offered with a spare front wheel in the sale.
1975 Cheney BSA B50 MX Thumper Ex Ken Heanes Registration Number: KTC 566P Frame Number: JBRK595 Engine Number: B50MX AH03077 - In current family ownership since the 1970s - Ex-racer Ken Heanes The BSA B50MX was a single cylinder 499cc bike produced by BSA in Birmingham, with a light alloy engine, with versions for both road version and off-road competition use. The off-road competition version was basically a paired back version of the road going models, using the same frame, wheels and suspension. Some B50s were modified for off road use by specialist bike/engine builders such as Eric Cheney. Eric Cheney was an English motorcycle off-road racer, designer and independent constructor. Cheney was one of the best motorcycle frame designers of his era, concentrating mainly on off-road competition. After World War ll Eric Cheney joined motorcycle dealers Archers of Aldershot as a mechanic. Cheney began racing motocross and became one of Britain's best and most successful riders, along with his work companion Les Archer, who went on to become European Champion. Cheney had no formal training as a motorcycle designer yet was able to create original and high performance motorcycle chassis designs from a small lock up garage, with drawings of frame designs, often chalked on the garage wall. In an age of computer design and large teams with huge resources for research and development, Eric Cheney relied entirely on his long racing career experience. Some of Cheneys motorcycle designs are now famous in their own right, such as the competition BSA Gold Stars of Jerry Scott and Keith Hickman which used a BSA B50 specially tuned by Cheney. This 1975 Cheney BSA B50 MX Thumper was originally owned by top Hampshire Motorcycle racer and dealer Ken Heanes, lovingly known as the Fleet Flyer, one of Britain's most successful off road motorcycle racers. Our vendor's father purchased the machine directly from Ken Heanes in the 1970s and has been family owned since. First registered for the road in January 1976, when last used some years ago the bike ran well, but we understand it will need some checking over and servicing before being used once more. An interesting bike from long term family ownership.

1972 Triumph T120R Bonneville Registration Number: XHP 3K Frame Number: DE18739 Engine Number: DE187392T 120R - In current ownership since 1979 - Matching numbers engine/frame The now legendary Triumph Bonneville was released in 1959, taking its name from the achievements of Texan Triumph racer Johnny Allen on the Bonneville Salt Flats. The Bonneville was the last production design of the celebrated Edward Turner, who had been instrumental in creating all of Triumph’s raciest post-Vintage bikes, the Speed Twin, Thunderbird and Tiger 110. The original T120 Bonneville was developed in such a short space of time that it didn’t actually make it into Triumph’s 1959 catalogue, but it didn’t give the impression of being rushed. Its big, thumping 650cc twin assisted it quickly towards the ton, so it became an instant favourite with Ton-Up Boys. It wasn’t just rebellious teenagers who tried to squeeze as much speed out of it as possible, though. The Bonneville was developed for serious competition, and was perhaps most famously ridden by Steve McQueen in the 1964 International Six Days Trial. The most significant update in the T120’s life came in 1963 when it changed from pre-unit to unit construction, i.e. the engine and gearbox were incorporated into a single housing whereas previously they had been separate. The purpose of this was to make the bike more stiffly-built and eliminate high-speed wobble, thereby enabling better performance to be extracted from it. The Bonneville’s production ran from 1959 all the way through to 1983 with the later T140 incarnation, at which point production ceased with the closure of the Meriden works. Purchased by our vendor in 1979, this very genuine matching numbers Bonneville has been cherished over a period of several decades. In that time the engine has been rebuilt with new barrel and pistons, valves and guides, and a Morgo oil pump. Burlen Amal carburettors and Burlen Mk1 floats and needles are fitted. A 7-plate clutch is fitted, new alternator and rotor, solid state regulator, Pazon electronic ignition, wiring loom and LED lamps (with negative earth). A new odometer has been fitted, and a replacement seat. Very nicely finished in a gold/black livery, this is a stylish example which has clearly been loved over the last 45 years, and is ready to be enjoyed by a new owner.
1978 Honda CB750 Four K7 Registration Number: KBV 275S Frame Number: CB750K2812656 Engine Number: CB7500E3012726 - Now offered with No Reserve - Ridden to the auction Described by many as the first superbike Japan produced, the Honda CB750 first graced our shores in 1969, posing a direct threat to the British motorcycle industry. Hundreds of thousands of this eponymous model were sold, with many original examples still on the road today. The CB 750 was powered by a 736cc SOHC air cooled, transverse, in-line four cylinder, developing 68bhp, and topping out at 125mph. The very epitome of a classic 70s motorcycle, the CB750 had an upright comfortable riding position, large fuel tank and four chrome silencers. In 1976 Honda introduced the F1, a completely different machine with a Double Overhead Cam Engine and a single silencer. The F1 was a flop, and so Honda was forced to reintroduce the K series with the popular K7 model. This very nice original K7 has recently enjoyed much mechanical attention, with a recent top end engine rebuild, overhauling of the carburettors, and the fitting of electronic ignition. Understood to be in good running condition when last used in 2024, the bike has been in storage for some months so may benefit very light recommissioning. This classic Honda is all in all a genuine example of a true classic. This machine is now offered with No Reserve, to the highest bid on the day.

The model Bantam, the D1, was first launched in 1948 outside of the UK and in 1949 within the UK, and produced until 1963. 1961 Ducati 175TS Registration Number: 130 XVC Frame Number: MD 53622MD - Restored, matching engine/frame Designed by Fabio Taglioni, the first Ducati overhead-camshaft single - the 100 Gran Sport - appeared on the racetrack in 1954 and soon proved unbeatable in its class. Taglioni’s versatile design proved capable of considerable enlargement, being produced in various capacities from the original 98cc up to 450cc. The 175cc class was popular in Continental Europe and Ducati’s first offerings in that category appeared towards the end of the 1950s. A pair of 175cc roadsters was introduced for the 1956 season, the Sport version of which (known as the ‘Silverstone’ in the UK) was capable of more than 80mph in road trim and close to the ‘ton’ when stripped for racing, an astonishing achievement at the time and one that helped establish the giant killing reputation long enjoyed by Ducati’s miniature masterpieces. Alongside it Ducati offered the 175 T (Turismo), which was made in a lower state of tune and became the TS (Turismo Speciale) for 1958. Manufactured for only a few seasons, these 175cc tourers are today quite rare. Manufactured 1961, this wonderful example was imported from Spain in 2016. Nicely restored, the Ducati still retained its matching numbers engine and frame. This super looking bike has been finished to a high standard, and unused since restoration. Starting and running very nicely, this beautiful classic Ducati is offered for sale with V5C and catalogue of parts used in the restoration.
1979 Kawasaki Z1300 Registration Number: XOU 78T Frame Number: KZ30A005393 Engine Number: KZ30A005393 - Recorded mileage of 39,263 - Largely overhauled, with minor completion works The Kawasaki Z1300 holds a special place in motorcycle history as one of the most audacious machines of its era. Introduced at the Cologne Motorcycle Show in 1978, its 1,286cc liquid-cooled straight-six engine set it apart from anything else on the market. Built to take on the likes of Honda’s CBX and BMW’s R100RS, the Z1300 wasn’t just about displacement—it delivered a smooth yet thunderous performance with around 120bhp and a reputation for effortless mile-munching. This Z1300 is a near-complete project that’s been through extensive work, with much of the heavy lifting already done. New Koni shocks, a deep sump, new rear tyre, new front pads and seals, a cleaned and rebuilt set of carburettors, new fuel tap, and checked valve shims all contribute to the bike’s strong mechanical standing. The frame and swingarm have been repainted, the tank remains rust-free. Recent oil change and spark plugs, compression checks have confirmed healthy readings across all cylinders. Originally imported from a dry-state USA in 1998, it retains its original logbook and a genuine factory service manual. A rare centre stand and airbox are also present, adding to its completeness. Upgraded four-pot brake calipers improve stopping power, the original two-pot calipers are included as spares for those who prefer a stock setup. With 99% of the work done, it requires some final electrical finishing and a battery, along with a few small jobs to complete the restoration. 1935 Francis Barnet Cruiser Registration Number: CHK 592 Frame Number: EB 30844 - In current private ownership since 2008 - Very original complete example Setting up shop in the old Excelsior works in Coventry, Gordon Francis and Arthur Barnett founded Francis-Barnett in 1919, soon adapting to market conditions to produce more utilitarian models during the 1920s. The first of these was the triangulated, pin-jointed, straight-tube frame models of 1923. Experience in the production of pressed-steel car components resulted in yet another innovative model the following decade, the partially enclosed Cruiser from 1933 to 1940. The frame combined a forged ‘downtube’ beam with channel-section pressings and pressed-steel bladed forks, while other notable features included built-in leg shields, deeply valanced mudguards, and detachable engine/gearbox covers. Although of modest performance, the Cruiser offered touring at a relaxed pace, and in style. This Cruiser was first registered in May 1935, to be owned from the early 1980s by scientist Ian Rainy Calder, until passing to the current recorded owner in 2008. Dry stored in recent times, the Cruiser is offered with current and older registration documents.
1960 Velocette Viper/Venom Registration Number: YVB 387 Frame Number: RS15008 Engine Number: VR3068 - In current family ownership for c. 50 years - 500cc top end Renowned for the quality of their hand-built motorcycles, Velocette built more motorcycles than the likes of their rivals BSA or Norton, and were also at the forefront of motorcycle racing from the 1920s to the 50s, taking several world titles and 24 hours endurance records. The company was a great technical innovator, with many of their developed and patented designs still being used on today’s motorcycles, such as rear swinging arm suspension with hydraulic dampers. One of their most popular models was the Viper, produced between 1955 to 1968, with a 350cc OHV single cylinder engine developing 28 bhp, and a respectable top speed of 91 mph. The sister machine, the 500cc Venom, developed 34 bhp to give a top speed of 100mph. Imagine the joy young riders found when it was discovered (by removing a spacer block and minor adjustment) they could fit a 500cc Venom top end to their 350 Viper. These machines were known as Viper/Venoms This lovely Viper/Venom has been in the same family for the last 50 years, having been subject to an older restoration, and since being stored for c.30 years. Recently the bike has been brought out of hibernation and fully recommissioned. Now in good running order, this classic Velocette is ready for summer fun.
1990 Yamaha V-Max 1200 Registration Number: G934 BFC Frame Number: JYA2WFC0XLA003262 Engine Number: 2WF0032662 Launched in 1985, the Yamaha V-Max 1200 was designed with straight-line performance in mind, created by Atsushi Ichijo under the leadership of Akira Araki, with contributions from American designers Ed Burke and John Reed. Originally available only in Japan and the U.S., it was considered too powerful for European markets, where handling was often prioritized over outright speed. It wasn’t officially imported into the UK until 1995, with a detuned 96 bhp version. At the heart of the full-power California Version we see here is a 1,198cc V4 engine producing 145 bhp, enhanced by Yamaha’s V-Boost system. This innovative intake design progressively opens butterfly valves between the cylinders from 5,750 rpm, reaching full activation at 8,000 rpm, significantly increasing power delivery. With a 150 mph top speed and a wet weight of 286 kg, it was one of the most powerful production motorcycles of its time. This 1990 Yamaha V-Max 1200 was manufactured on December 31, 1990, and imported from the USA to the UK in 1998. Now showing 31,000 miles, it remains in original, unmodified condition, having recently undergone a full service with receipts totaling nearly £700. A new MOT (valid until January 2026) accompanies its history file, which includes service records and previous MOTs. Totally standard and original condition. Fully serviced after being stood for some time. There is a small dent on the right exhaust end can, but otherwise, this example remains well-preserved. Offered at No Reserve to the highest bid on the day.
1963 Velocette Venom Registration Number: VJL 718 Frame Number: R514315 - Well presented, matching numbers example The Velocette Venom is the 500cc version of the highly respected Viper 350cc motorcycle. The Venom was a fast and sophisticated bike that also found success in competition circles. The high cam and short pushrod engine design, together with a high compression aluminium cylinder head created a sporting ride for the discerning motorcyclist. Fine handling was provided by a strong brazed lug frame with swinging arm rear suspension. This 1963 Mark I 500cc Venom, a 4 speed version, is very nicely finished in classic Velocette black. An older restoration, the Velocette presents in very good condition, everything being in working order. The odometer reads 30,873 miles and only has 5 previous keepers on the V5 (a previous green log book is included). A matching numbers motorcycle, the Venom is equipped with a competition magneto and runs 12v electrics. A number of spares are included in this lot. 1952 Gilera 150 Lusso Registration Number: XXG 411 Frame Number: 184234 Engine Number: 191557 - Now eligible for the Motogiro d'Italia - Restored by Italian specialist, rare model Motogiro d 'Italia is the historical re-enactment of the oldest and most prestigious Italian motorcycle race in stages. Born in 1914 In the early 50s, new regulations in Italy allowed access to motorways for motorcycles with a minimum capacity of 150cc, so Gilera upgraded its 125 to 150cc. The 150 presented in 1952 became Gilera’s best selling motorcycle, ever with 96,000 units produced. The 150 was what the public wanted, and Gilera responded with the introduction of the Gran Turismo in 1955, followed by the Super Sport and Super Red in 1957. This lovely example was lovingly restored by an Italian bike specialist, more recently being UK road registered, and so is ready to be enjoyed on British roads. The vendor advises us the bike is now eligible for Motogiro d'Italia, "Ride The Legend", the historical re-enactment of the oldest and most prestigious Italian motorcycle race.
1971 Gilera 5V Trail Registration Number: N/A Frame Number: 010X4811 Engine Number: 0106547 - Fully restored, beautiful example Founded in 1909 by Giuseppe Gilera near Milan, almost from the start racing was clearly the firm's intention. After WW11 the company produced some very exotic race machines, acquiring the rights to the CNA Roundine race bike, featuring a DOHC supercharged four producing 80hp, and a top speed of 140mph. This engine became the basis for Gilera's very successful race bikes, but sadly by the late 60s due to spiralling costs the company was forced into receivership. Gilera was purchased by Piaggio, going on to produce some great bikes with the Gilera name, one of them being the 1971 Gilera 5V Trail. In 1971 a Gilera 5V Trail famously attempted to reach the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, and although not quite making it, still broke all period records for a motorcycle ascent. This comprehensively restored Gilera 5V Trail features a rebuilt engine with a 75cc piston and barrel, and is now ready for running in. A five-speed gearbox ensures the bike will keep up with modern traffic. Offered with a NOVA certificate and official dating certificate ahead of UK registration, this increasingly rare model, in super order, is ready for its next mountain adventure.
