Pedal Car - An Austin J40 pedal car made in around 1967 according to the chassis number at the Austin factory in Bargoed It has had some restoration work and been repainted in a darker shade of green than the original visible inside, it now shows some wear and patina and there is some micro blistering to the paintwork in some areas and a few dents. It appears to be complete other than the rear bumper is missing. The engine and battery are still present under the bonnet but the wiring needs some attention, the tyres appear new. Worksplate THE HUNSLET ENGINE Co LTD LEEDS No 3155 1944, from a standard gauge Austerity 0-6-0ST new to the War Department at the Longmoor Military Railway as WD No 75105. Sent to France in February 1945 and sold in June 1945 to the Dutch State Railways, their No 8815. Sold to the Laura Mine in June 1957 as LV 16. It later entered preservation and returned to the UK in 1988 being then named Walkden, currently located at the Ribble Steam Railway, Preston. Oval cast iron face restored, measures 11.5in x 8in.
Worksplate BEYER PEACOCK 1900 MANCHESTER ex Parker GCR N5 0-6-2T numbered GCR 895, LNER 5895, 9319 and BR 69319. Allocated to Langwith Junction and 34E Neasden from where it was withdrawn in December 1959 and scrapped at Gorton works. Oval cast brass face restored with Engine No 69319 stamped in the back, measures 6.75in x 4.5in.
Worksplate THE HUNSLET ENGINE CO LTD LEEDS No 3720 1953 ex BR(W) Hawksworth 0-6-0 PT numbered 9490. Allocated to Ebbw Junction, Southall and 85A Worcester from where it was withdrawn from in December 1964 and scrapped at Cashmore's Newport. Oval cast brass in as removed condition, measures 11.5in x 8in. Yorkshire Engine Company built 20 panniers under license from Hunslet and fitted only one Hunslet plate per locomotive. There are two different patterns for the different batches of 10. A rare plate.

Worksplate AVONSIDE ENGINE Co LIMITED 1778 1917 BRISTOL. Ex 0-4-0ST delivered new to Millom Hematite Ore & Iron Co at their Florence No.1 Iron Mine, Egremont. Dismantled 1957, pieces sent to Millom Ironworks. Boiler/ tanks scrapped, frames to David Caird, Barrow circa 9/61 and used as an ingot carrier. Oval cast brass face restored, measures 10.875in x 6.5in.
Worksplate LNER 9x5 LONDON & NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY 1679 GATESHEAD WORKS ex North Eastern Railway Worsdell Class X3 2-2-4T. The locomotive was originally built by Robert Stephenson & Co as a three cylinder 4-2-0 in 1846 as works number 618, rebuilt by the makers as a 2-2-2 in 1853 and given a new works number 737 and numbered NER 77. Rebuilt at York works in 1860 as a two cylinder 2-2-2, Rebuilt in 1881 and in April 1891 a Worsdell boiler was fitted and the locomotive renumbered to NER 1929 then in January 1894 it became NER number 1679. Its final rebuild was at Gateshead in October 1894 to the arrangement of a 2-2-4T. The locomotive was painted in fully lined out passenger livery and was described as an Officers Special Tank Engine and was used mainly for haulage of inspection saloons and other ceremonial duties, there are images of it dressed up in its ceremonial regalia for the opening of the Derwent Valley Light Railway in 1913. It was withdrawn in June 1931 and scrapped. Oval cast brass face restored measures 9x5. Probably the most significant plate of this type to have survived.

Ex 0-4-4-0 Electric supplied new to Modederfontein Gold Mine South Africa. Oval cast brass in lightly face cleaned condition, measures 12in x 7in. A rare plate that is featured on page 10 in the book British Locomotive Builders Plates by Buckle & Love.

Supplied new to the Bestwood Coal & Iron Co near Nottingham. nameplate rectangular cast brass face restored measures 36.5in x 6in, worksplate oval engraved brass in lightly cleaned condition measures 12.875in x 10in. A lovely pair with a very early pattern worksplate.
Worksplate AVONSIDE ENGINE Co LTD BRISTOL BUILT 1919 ENGINE No 1833. Ex 0-6-0ST named Littleton. Delivered new to Pearson, Contractor, London, then to Askern Coal and Iron, Doncaster, 12/33 then to NCB ownership and scrapped in 1969. Oval cast brass face restored rear original measures 10.75in x 6.5in. Note we sold the nameplate for this locomotive in November 2022 lot 374.
Worksplate YORKSHIRE ENGINE CO LIMITED MEADOW HALL WORKS SHEFFIELD No 784 1903 ex 0-4-0 ST delivered new to Park Gate Iron & Steel Co Works, sold to Charwelton Quarries in 1952 and withdrawn in November 1961 and cut up on site in December 1963. Oval cast brass, face lightly cleaned measures 13in x 7.5in. One of the earlier larger pattern plates.
A George V Silver and Enamel Dressing-Table Box, With English Import Marks London, 1919 circular and with pull-off cover, the sides and cover with light purple guilloche enamel over an engine-turned ground, the cover with further white enamel borders, the interior gilt11cm diameter, gross weight 12oz 1dwt, 375grFully marked on bezel and inside cover with English import marks. The marks are generally clear. There is some overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. There is some restoration to the white enamel border on one side of the cover. There are some mostly minor chips to the enamel elsewhere.
