Two vintage silver hipflasks, one plain example, c1920s, and a larger engine turned example from the 1940s, together with two sets of silver plated beakers in leather cases (4)Hipflask Details:Plain Example:Believed to be hallmarked Birmingham 1925 William Neale & Sons Ltd, shows light scuffs and scratches, pitting to the base and lid and discolouration to the interior. Lid fastens.Engine Turned Example:Believed to be hallmarked London 1947 Puddlefoot, Bowers & Simonett Ltd. Slight dents and scuffs to both sides, several areas of discolouration and tarnishing (particularly to the edges and underside), small chips and scratches. Lid fastens.
A 1950s sterling marked hipflask and tea canister, the flask with engine turned bands, and the canister engraved to cover from the Hungjao Golf Club, 14.8 ozt (3)Small dents to an edge on one side of the hip flask, light scratches across the body with some heavier ones to the base, small chips to the lower edges with slight pitting to the lid, tarnishing to the main body.
Excellent Photograph Album of C.I.V. & Artist Rifles Interest, Images start in South Africa 1900 with mostly very clear images of troops marching in "a shelter", a "C.I.V.M.I., Other images in the UK including an extremely sharp full page photograph at the School of Instruction, Chelsea Barracks, 1901 with all Officers named, likewise at Shorncliffe, Yarmouth 1902 and Berkhampstead 1902. Unusual series of photographs of "the transpost" a steam engine and trailers with troops at Nutley Easter 1906 Some really crisp images from these early plate photographs. A fine collection of c.150 images, various sizes, although mostly captioned owner unknown.
Royal Air Force Air Gunners/ Wireless Operator, Flying Log Book John Tutton. Nov. 1941 December 1945. Initial training Royal Naval Air Station, St.Merryn, then 782, 766 & 779 Squadrons. Convoy duty in Sunderlands August 1944 after depth charge dropping "engine failure ahead of convoy crashed in sea"(836 Squadron). Flights to India etc (Hudson) Tipped-in Naval service paperwork etc and well executed pencil sketch (Tutton?) Interesting. Ex Michael Wells Collection.
