A 1980 BMW R100RS, registration number JKU 409W, frame number 6075555, engine number 6075555, Smoke red. With 47,500 recorded miles from new, this matching numbers R100RS has been in the current ownership since 2013. Since acquiring the BMW he has had the motorcycle thoroughly restored. During the restoration the frame and wheels were stripped, shot blasted and powder coated, the engine was rebuilt with unleaded compatible valves and seats, the brakes were overhauled with new rear disc, brake lines and rebuilt calipers. The headstock and swinging arm had new bearings fitted, new Keihan stainless steel down pipes and silencers were fitted, the clutch was replaced, the carburettors were overhauled, a new battery was fitted and a full respray was carried out by Joeby's of Wells, Somerset. The BMW is offered for auction with its original tool kit, panniers, a Trelock cable lock, and rare metal bodied pump. A 1940s Argson Runnymede Invalid Carriage restoration project, black. Designed in South Africa, the Argson Runnymede was subsequently manufactured in the UK by the Stanley Engineering Co Ltd of Egham, Surrey. They started manufacturing invalid carriages under the Argson name in the 1920s with both electric and petrol engine power. This example is powered by a Villiers 172cc petrol engine and requires full restoration having been stored for a consideration time. A 1979 Honda CB400/Four, registration number FRP 945T, frame number CB400F2-1087437, ***engine number CB400F-E-1083259 (not CB400F-E-1083258)***, red. Honda's 400/Four offered a ground breaking package during the 1970s. With 500cc performance in a 250cc size frame, they handled well and had style aplenty with the innovative four cylinder engine, rear set foot rests and cool four into one exhaust, they would become many a schoolboys dream machine. A 1971 Suzuki T500R, registration number BAX 219J, frame number T500-35849, engine number T500-67411, green/white. Suzuki's T500 was produced between 1968 and 1975. A rare sight on British roads, the Suzuki featured a 500cc two stroke air cooled parallel twin engine capable of a top speed of 105 mph and produced 46 bhp at 6,000 rpm when new. This example comes direct from an important private collection and has been fully restored. The engine fitted is a later 1973 example as confirmed by the Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club dating certificate. The Suzuki is offered for auction with the aforementioned dating certificate, an expired MOT (October 2003) and sundry paperwork. A 1972 Honda CB500/Four, registration number PGC 889K, frame number CB500 2086913, engine number CB500E/2173379, gold. Honda's CB500 was a scaled down version of the critically acclaimed and ground breaking CB750 first seen in 1969. New to the market in 1971, they featured a 500cc version of the inline SOHC Four inline engine, five speed gearbox, disc front brake and the very distinctive Four into Four chrome upswept exhaust system. A 1960 Norman Cyclemate, registration number 118 NPJ, green. This Cyclemate has formed part of a small private collection of autocycles and lightweight motorcycles. It has been part of the collection since 1998 and has been shown at numerous South West events. A 1963 Douglas Vespa 150 Sportique, registration number 792 CUF, frame number 5KC 11586, engine number 5KC 11586, green. The Sportique was the last model of Vespa to be produced by Douglas from 1961 until production ceased in 1965. They featured the larger 150cc engine and there were various limited editions to bolster flagging sales with the Grand Tourer being the last released just before production ceased. This Sportique has been in the vendor's custodianship since 1982. The vendor had the scooter restored by D Vidal Scooters in 2003 (receipts on file) with a 125cc super barrel and piston (original 150cc barrel available). Since then the Vespa has seen little use and has mainly been on display. A 1974 Norton Commando Interstate 850 Mk II, registration number VTB 11M, frame number 103384, engine number 310626, red. Introduced in 1973 the Commando 850 featured larger cylinder bores, a stronger gearbox casting and an all metal clutch, plus a myriad of smaller changes compared to the previous 750 model. The increase in capacity did not raise the top speed but it did increase mid-range torque which gave the motorcycle more urge. This Commando has been with the vendor since 2004 and has 23,000 recorded miles. It has benefited from extensive expenditure in 2008 with approximately £4,500 spent on parts in a rebuild. Due to the vendor's ill health the Norton has seen little use in the last year, with the last MOT expiring in July 2016, since when it has been in dry storage. A 1965 Triumph T20 Tiger Cub, registration number EOE 259C, frame number T20SH95353, engine number T20SH95353, red. Triumph's Tiger Cub was manufactured between 1954 and 1965. They were very popular with commuters as well as finding success in trials and scrambling. This example from the last year of production has formed part of a private collection. It is described by the vendor as a good usable motorcycle which starts and runs well, having had a recent engine rebuild, but could be improved with new wheel rims. A 1967 BSA C15 GP Cumbria Constabulary Police Motorcycle, registration number MRM 629F, frame number C15GP2372, engine number C15GP2372, black. This rare BSA was purchased by the Cumbria Constabulary and first registered on 15th September 1967. The BSA would remain in service until 1974 when it was purchased by Harrison & Hetherington Ltd who would subsequently sell the BSA to a Mr Jacob Martin Doldi from Kendal. Mr Doldi would retain the motorcycle some considerable time before selling to a Mr W Williams who would in turn sell to our vendor. The vendor describes the BSA as being in good condition with all the Police kit in place. The BSA comes to auction with two RF60 log books, original guarantee, First Service Scheme and Know your Motorcycle booklets, Motorcycle Magazine article (9th July 1964), starting procedure notes, past MOTs and Cumbria Archive Service letter confirming the motorcycle's service status. A 1981 Yamaha XT 500, registration number GFB 349W, frame number 1U6140528, engine number 146140140528, black/silver. Yamaha's iconic trail/enduro bike needs no introduction as it has been thrilling enthusiasts since it was revealed to the American market in 1975. This was imported from Italy and registered in 1997. The vendor describes the XT 500 as requiring some cosmetic refurbishment. The motorcycle had an engine out top end rebuild with new rings and valves by GV Bikes in 2009 (receipt on file for £533.16). The ignition system has been uprated with a twelve volt system and the handlebars have been replaced with Renthal bars. A 1983 Honda CBX 550F, registration number VBL 324Y, frame number PL04200830, ***engine number PC04E1000587 (not PL04E1000587)***, red, white & black. Honda's middleweight sports tourer was produced between 1982 and 1986. The bike was packed with innovative new features. The rear suspension was Honda's new pro-link with airbag spring, the front suspension had anti-dive braking system and front air assisted front forks. The wheels were the latest version of Comstar alloys and the exhaust was a four into two system. This has less than 17,000 miles recorded on the odometer, which is believed to be correct but unverified. The Honda was last MOT'd in 2012 and has been in dry storage since. A 1952 BSA Bantam D1, registration number GRV 464, frame number YD1-S-84883, engine number YDL 12865, green. This rare Lucas equipped plunger framed Bantam is one of a limited number built for only two years. It has formed part of a small private collection since 1982. A 1967 BSA B40 WD (RAF) registration number OPD 63E, service serial number 35 AX 64, RAF blue, believed one of only three known survivors. This extremely rare BSA has been restored by the vendor to a condition similar to which it would have been originally supplied. The BSA was stripped, and the frame and tank were powder coated and re-sprayed in the correct RAF blue. ***The replacement engine*** was fully serviced with a new clutch, Duplex chain, gaskets, wiring loom, cables, battery and sundries. The spedometer was re-built by A B Popple (£130) and new tyres fitted. The B40 is fitted with a genuine RAF full fairing, with blue flashing light, correct handlebars, extremely rare and correct indicators, genuine canvas despatch riders' panniers, and quick release rear number plate. The BSA is offered with numerous spares, workshop and spares manuals, technical manuals and sundry paperwork. This restored BSA, ***to near original specification*** now offers an excellent opportunity for both a military and motorcycle enthusiast to add a significant and rare machine to their collection.
