A sterling silver minaudiere by Webster Company, of rectangular form with engine turned decoration to cover, push button release opening to reveal a sovereign and half sovereign holder, a covered compartment and a money clip, set upon a belcher link chain, 9cm x 6.5cm, weight 2.88oztCR; Please see the additional images of the hallmarks.There is moderate denting to the case exterior, moderate scratching and general wear. There is heavy denting around the half sovereign holder, and moderate denting/wear to the full sovereign holder. The covering to the internal compartment is very loose in its fitting and shows moderate damage - the cover gets stuck, and can be difficult to open. No splitting or signs of repair to the exterior or interior. Some of the links on the chain show heavy denting/misshaping and thinning, but there are no signs of repair. Minaudiere opens smoothly and closes with a snap, but does leave a slight gap around the lip when closed.

An Art Deco silver compact/cigarette case, retailed by Asprey, marks for ‘FOS’ London 1937, of rectangular form with engine turned decoration and gilt borders, 8.5cm x 8cm, weight 8.99ozt, complete in a fitted boxCR; Moderate scratching and wear to the exterior. Heavy wear/loss to the gilt around the borders. Some small dents to the corners and edges. Buttons in working order, covers sit flush. There is very heavy scratching and wear to the interior of the cigarette compartment. The fabric in the compact is torn and pulled in some places. The glass is in tact, no chipping, or losses. No splits, large dents or repairs to anywhere on the piece. Some wear to the felt interior, concentrated around the borders. Moderate wear and fraying to the ribbon in the case. Some staining and general wear to the silk interior. Some areas of wear to the leather (see pictures for illustration). Box opens with ease and closes with a snap.

With its durable frame and above-average flight distances, the Anson was mainly used to train bomber crews before they began flying heavy frontline aircraft, such as the famous Avro Lancaster Bomber.This seat features its original restored and restrengthened leather, including the Avro maker's mark. The lightweight tubular metal frame comes in its original painted finish and has been strengthened to increase its longevity, while new webbing replaces missing seat support straps. A missing belt has been authentically reproduced, resulting in a museum-ready exhibit or a unique chair for the home.Condition report: Dried out and cracked leather throughout. Later safety belt reset with new screws. Frame worn.

P6974Odometer: 48923Carmen redFrom the estate of a Yorkshire gentleman, Cedric Gillson, this Jaguar was first registered on 1 September 1958, an original UK right-hand drive car. This vehicle was purchased in 1989 as a restoration project, completed by the vendor and subsequently garaged for its entire ownership. The vehicle comes with an extensive folder of invoices and receipts. The last recorded MOT is dated 25 March 2011, and from the odometer reading, has only covered 50 miles since, despite being regularly run and driven short distances. This car was extensively restored in the late 1980s to a very high standard, in the main by Rawdon Restorations, Idle, Bradford, originally white, resprayed Carmen red and finished with tan leather seats and a Wilton carpet interior. The car runs and drives beautifully and the condition remains exceptional both inside and out.This lot is subject to Buyer's Premium at 15% plus VAT @ 20%.Condition report: An older restoration that has had very little use and remains a very clean car, both bodywork and chassis. Used on dry days only and kept in a heated garage under dust sheets.Speedometer not responding, fuel gauge reads between empty and 1/4, despite adding 5 gallons, but otherwise drives and stops. All probably a result of lack of use recently. There is a slight blow on the exhaust between the manifold and next stage, a stud appears to be missing and gasket therefore blowing.One small area of rust bubbling at the nose of the bonnet either side of the grill.Paperwork is available to potential bidders at Sworders Fine Art Auctioneers.
