The whole set in gable roofed building with glazed observation panels glazed windows with opening side panels for access and observation supported on simulated brickwork footings and having an electric motor linked by chain to the main engine flywheel for displaying the engine in motion. As it would not be very practical to run the steam engine in its enclosed display setting 45cm high to gable 31cm wide 66cm long
A model of a live steam boiler and single cylinder engine built by the late Mr William Taylerson with vertical copper boiler having engraved plankwork and rivets adjustable weighted safety valve pressure gauge sight glass whistle chimney and drain cock. Mounted to the side of the boiler is a vertical single cylinder steam engine with supporting columns oiler cups and eccentric linkage to steam valve. This is balanced by a 12cm spoked flywheel with graduated pully and eccentric driven water pump and feed to boiler. Total height of model including cast-iron base 34cm

Chassis details include twin outside cylinders Bore 1 5/8in x 2 5/16in stroke Walschaert’s valve gear fluted motion sand boxes and associated pipework oil lubricator. Cab controls with regulator pressure gauge and sight glass. The model is finished in black lined British Railways livery. Past boiler history: Southern Federation of Model Engineering Societies boiler test certificate No.6850 Expired on the 24th of June 2006. Test pressure 150 psi. Safety valve settings 100 psi. Boiler identification mark N82-100-18c. The locomotive measures 25.5cm wide x 115cm long

This model has won nine major award throughout England has been featured on BBC Television made the front page of The Model Engineer magazine in 1984 and took some four and a half years to build. It comes complete with miniature lamps hand tools and photographic build records. The model was steamed prior to painting but has never been used since
