A William IV rectangular snuff box with engine turned lid and base, with cast floral mounts to edges, 3ins x 1.75ins x .625ins high, by Edward Smith, Birmingham 1836 (weight 2.5ozs), inscribed to interior of lid "Presented to Wm. Hooker by Mrs Heaviside and a few friends for his Meritorious Conduct in apprehending 3 Notorious House Breakers who broke into our house, June 1838", and a gold coloured metal mounted mourning ring for "William Hooker, Died March 26th 1849, Aged 40"
