A silver engine turned cigarette box, by A Wilcox, Birmingham 1934, engraved inscription to inner lid 'A token of grateful appreciation to Her Highness Princess Marie Louise..., ten years as president of the forum club...' 15cm wide, 370g. Condition Report: gilded interior, minor wear and tear commensurate with age.
A Victorian 18ct yellow gold hunter pocket watch, with an engine turned outer case, the gilt dial with floral engraved centre, blued steel hands and subsidiary seconds dial, the inner case inscribed "Presented to Mr Jno Jones, Cattle and Sheep dealer, Merthyr Tydfil, by a few friends in the neighbourhood of Devynock & Trecastle Breconshire, July 1867" the backplate engraved Jno Davies, Brecon, No.22007, hallmarked for London, 1866, together with a yellow metal long chain and a key CONDITION REPORT: Overall weight with chain approximately 106.8 grams, none of the clocks or watches are sold as working, the key does not turn when inserted, second hand does move temporarily when shook, front cover is bowed, does close and does spring open. the case has surface scratches, wear and dents conversant with usual wear, approximately 5cm diameter, the chain is not hallmarked, weight of watch without chain, 88.7 grams
19th CENTURY INLAID ROSEWOOD CARRIAGE TYPE MANTEL CLOCK, having satinwood strung inlaid and foliate decorated case, yellow metal 'c' scroll loop handle, full depth silvered and engine turned face, and having French brass drum movement striking on one bell. 8.25" high (21cm). CONDITION REPORT: Areas of lifting and lost veneers to the case, particularly on the lower plinth. Rather grubby overall.
18th CENTURY WROUGHT IRON AND BRASS, WEIGHT DRIVEN SPIT JACK ENGINE incorporating two wall brackets, the open frame with brass pierced scrolled panel with brass cogs and wheels, also incorporating two rope pulleys. The frame 13.5" x 7.5" (35cm x 19cm). Rare. CONDITION REPORT: Overall appearing complete although does not have any weight with it. Detailed condition report on request.
A French gilt brass mounted white marble figural mantel clock garniture A French gilt brass mounted white marble figural mantel clock garniture, unsigned, circa 1900, the eight-day circular bell striking movement with floral garland decorated white enamel Roman numeral dial and foliate pierced gilt hands, the drum-shaped gilt movement housing with rose spray cast crest and engine-turned bezel supported on concave fluted support beside a cast gilt figure of a seated putto emblematic of the Performing Arts, the shaped skirt base with foliate trail mount to the central bowed section flanked by rosettes, on gilt toupe feet, 27cm high; with a pair of urn-shaped side ornaments en-suite, each with floral bud finial and twin scroll handles over square base fronted with foliate mount and on toupe feet, each 22.5cm high.
