PARTS OF GREAT WAR BRITISH AND GERMAN AIRCRAFT COLLECTED BY SIR FENTON GEORGE HORT 7TH BT With Officers record of Service book, each part is labelled, describing the circumstances in which it was found; Cylinder lock from AEG German Biplane, shot down by A& Z defences BEF Sept 3rd 1917; coil from part of the engine of a German Albatros Biplane 'brought down in France'; a piece of a strut from an Aircraft ' Bombardment of Calis April 1917'; a piece of a prop from BE2C 'Broke off during a forced landing by the pilot at Bolugne' Fenton George Hort was born on the 1st of May 1896, the son of Sir Arthur Fenton Hort, 6th Bt. and Helen Frances Bell. He was educated at Harrow School and, after the war, graduated from Cambridge University. During the Great War, he served as a Lieutenant in the Royal Engineers arriving in France on the 21st of March 1917. In 1935, he became the 7th Baronet Hort, of Castle Strange, Middlesex, upon the death of his father. Fenton passed away in 1960.
