After completing his training in the UK he was posted to No.78 Squadron based in Yorkshire and operating the four-engine Halifax.Within a few weeks of his arrival, Bomber Command embarked on its most intensive period of operations with the beginning of what became known as the ‘Battle of Berlin’. Sanders made a number of sorties to the ‘Big City’, which he described as ‘quite difficult’. He also attacked other major cities before the bombers were switched to targets in France in preparation for the D-Day landings. On the night of June 5, 1944 he attacked gun batteries on the Channel coast unaware that the air and sea invasion was about to begin. He recalled, “Coming back my radar showed the Channel chock-a-block with ships. I told the crew: 'This is it'.”Sanders was rested after completing thirty-three operations. In eleven months his crew were only the third in their squadron to complete a full tour of duty. Well over half had been lost. He was awarded the DFC. After the war he specialised in navigation and in 1951 he was selected for a ‘special flight’. In August three RAF crews flew to a USAF base in Louisiana to train on the North American RB-45C four-engine jet reconnaissance aircraft. The leader of the team was Squadron Leader John Crampton and Sanders was his navigator. In the following February the crews were briefed on their secret flight codenamed ‘Ju-Jitsu’. Four RB-45Cs were flown to an RAF base in north Norfolk where they were shorn of their USAF markings and repainted with RAF roundels (one aircraft was to act as a spare). After Crampton and Sanders had flown a practice flight along the Berlin Air Corridor to test the Soviet reaction – there was none – Prime Minister Winston Churchill gave approval for the top-secret flights. The three aircraft took off on April 17, 1952 and headed for Denmark where they refuelled from airborne tankers. Crampton then turned south east for Russia flying at 36,000 feet. Electronic intelligence was gathered and photographs taken of the targets and, after an uneventful flight, the aircraft landed back at Sculthorpe after a ten-hour flight. The three crews returned to normal duties but the special unit was reformed in April 1954 for another series of flights. On the 28th, Crampton and Sanders headed for Kiev; the longest of the three flights. Sanders had just taken some photographs when the RB-45 came under anti-aircraft fire. Realising that his aircraft had been identified and was being tracked by ground radars; Crampton applied full power and turned west, towards Germany, some 1,000 miles away. General Vladimir Abramov, Commander for the Kiev region, revealed in later years that he had ordered MiG fighter pilots to try and ram the spy aircraft but they were unable to reach 36,000 feet to intercept the RB-45C.This highly clandestine Cold War episode remained a closely guarded secret until 1994 when the BBC and the Daily Telegraph disclosed some details. Sanders was among retired RAF personnel interviewed on BBC's Timewatch programme a few years later. The RAF and USAF commanders considered the flights valuable and Crampton and his crews were decorated, Sanders receiving the AFC, adding a Bar for the second flight. After completing the RAF Flying College Course, when he made a hazardous flight to the North Pole in a Canberra, Sanders specialised in guided weapons before he served in charge of operations on a Thor Inter-Continental Ballistic Missile Site in Norfolk. After two years as the Air Advisor to the Pakistan Air Force he assumed command of RAF Aberporth on the Welsh coast from where air defence missiles, including the Bloodhound surface-to-air guided missile, were tested. His final appointment was a five-year tour in the MOD Operational Requirements Directorate. His secret work resulted in his appointment as OBE. He retired in December 1977.(Photograph 9 of Rex Sanders included in the obituary - not included in lot) Auctioneer's Note: Wing Commander Rex Southern Sanders DFC AFC & Bar OBE was a Royal Air Force navigator who won a DFC for his service during the Second World War and an AFC for his part in secret photographic and radar reconnaissance missions behind Soviet lines during the Cold War in the 1950's. Operation Jiu Jitsu - the cover story was that the RAF was evaluating the mid air refueling capabilities of the RB-45 when secretly vital intelligence was being gathered on the Soviet infrastructure, defences and offences. Sanders was the lead navigator of a select nine-man RAF team that flew USAF reconnaissance aircraft on a series of top secret, and highly risky, spy flights deep into the Soviet Union in the early 1950s. In August 1951, three RAF bomber crews flew to a USAF base in Louisiana to train on the North American RB-45C four-engine jet reconnaissance aircraft. The following February the crews were briefed on the operation. Four RB-45Cs were flown to an RAF base in north Norfolk, where they were shorn of their USAF markings and repainted with RAF roundels. 1985 BMW E28 525 E AutoMake: BMWModel: 525 EYear: 1985Mileage: 116367VIN: WBADB620501097652Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: B48BEWTransmission: automatic The second generation 5 Series was introduced in 1981 and ran through to 1988, replacing the previous E12 models. At first, only four- and six-cylinder petrol engines were available, but a diesel option joined the line-up in 1983. The E28 also saw the advent of the first M5. The range continued to 1988 when it was replaced by the E34 5 Series. This handsome red 1985 example, registered in January 1985, is a 525E automatic, with 2693cc straight-six engine. In September, it passed an MoT with no advisories; the current ticket is valid until September 2022. The current odometer reading is 116,367 miles, and six former keepers are recorded. The vendor states that the car 'drives very well' and having recently been used for a classic car publication feature, we can confirm that it does perform well and behaves as it should on the road. The paperwork folder includes the present V5C and a copy of the current MoT. Previous MoT certificates date from 2012, 2014, 2015 and 2017. There are some invoices dating from the 1980s, as well as more recent bills. These include a replacement radiator and water pump in 2017. The service book is stamped with 15 stamps up until 57,546 miles in March 1997. Overall, the car presents very well, with a particularly tidy beige cloth interior. There is a Category D insurance loss (vehicle damaged but repairable; insurer decided not to repair) recorded against the car from January 1999.

1998 Ford Scorpio Ultima 24V Auto EstateMake: Ford Model: Scorpio Ultima 24V Estate Year: 1998Mileage: 168074VIN: WF0NXXGAGNWY11249Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: R162PRETransmission: automatic In 24-valve Ultima form, this Scorpio was at the top of Ford's executive tree in 1998. The Ultima trim level was the highest one available, with a CD autochanger, climate control, leather seats, walnut veneer dash, cruise control, an automatically dimming mirror and electrically-operated seats as well as a variety of other enhancements over lesser models. The top-of-the-range Cosworth V6 engine gave 207bhp. With most of these flagship models being saloons, estates were comparatively rare. Rather fittingly, given that the Scorpio Ultima 24V could probably be regarded as the Rolls-Royce of Ford's line-up, this 1998 example was initially sold to Rolls-Royce Motor Cars in Crewe. The V5C is present, showing six former owners. Also in the paperwork file is the original document folder with owner's manual, engine immobilisation guide, audio instructions and service booklet, showing 14 stamps up to March 2011, at 123,358 miles. The MoT is valid until April 2022, and the certificate is included. There are past test certificates from 2016, 2017 and 2019. A check on the online MoT history for this Ford confirms the current recorded mileage of 168,075, in conjunction with the service history. A stack of invoices covers work done to the car up to 2016, including an automatic gearbox rebuild during that year at a cost of £2346 and a new radiator in 2016, at a cost of £387.60. A new battery was fitted in January 2019. The vendor describes the car as 'driving lovely and used daily', and it presents well, inside and out, in its smart metallic maroon shade. Some spares are included.

A four-core radiator, new water pump, and new clutch were also fitted, and the flywheel was refaced. The bills for all of this work, which run into the thousands, are included in the history folder. Since the rebuild, the vendor tells us that less than 1000 miles have been covered. The history folder includes the V5C, MoT certificates from 2012, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2020, and a stack of invoices for the engine work plus other bills such as electronic ignition installation in 2015. Further work involved a new floor being fitted on the driver's side in 2017, with a new carburettor in 2020, along with a new ignition system and battery. The odometer records the mileage as 59,699, although the vendor also reports that this hasn't worked in a long time, so the mileage is higher than stated. The car has only been used in during the summer months and stored during the winter; since lockdown, it has hardly been used at all. In the history folder, there's the current V5C plus a comprehensive paper record of servicing and parts replacement, the original registration of sale, driver's handbook, Cassell book of the Morris 1000 and a Haynes workshop manual. 1968 Jaguar 240 AutoMake: JaguarModel: 240Year: 1968Mileage: 0VIN: 1J2633BWConfiguration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: TJW555FTransmission: automatic This later 240 incarnation of Jaguar's Mk2 sports saloon (which was known from September 1967 as the 240 and 340, depending on engine size) was registered in June 1968. It is finished in Midnight Blue with black trim and Coombe's style rear wheel covers. The odometer reads 19,217 miles and five former registered keepers are recorded, the third of whom had the car restored after buying it in 1978. The vendor tells us that considerable expenditure has been spent in recent years keeping this 240 in good order, including the replacement of all front suspension bushes, ball joints, springs and shock absorbers. The front brakes have been upgraded to four-pot calipers, the rear suspension has new tie bars, leaf spring rubbers, bushes and shock absorbers. Period correct Michelin tyres have been installed, as has a full stainless steel exhaust system, and there's also electronic ignition. It was restored in 2004, and the vendor describes it as a 'very clean, tidy car', in 'good mechanical condition with an original interior'. The history folder includes the V5C, current MoT (valid until October 2022) as well as one from 2008, and an itemised bill for the 2004 restoration - which came to £3196.92 in total. There's a selection of other invoices from 1987 to 2008, including an engine rebuild in 1987. A solitary 2005 tax disc is in the file as well, as is the owner's handbook. However, by far the best item in the file is the small notebook that includes all work carried out from 1973 to 2002. By following this through, it seems to indicate that 40,075 miles indicated on the odometer is likely to be 240,075 miles - although this is after both an engine and body rebuild, of course.

1982 Porsche 924 Turbo One owner from newMake: Porsche Model: 924 TurboYear: 1982Mileage: 10178VIN: WP0ZZZ93ZCN100813Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: LDZ3353Transmission: manualThe Porsche 924 was introduced in 1976 as an 'entry level' model for the marque. However, with its 2.0-litre Volkswagen-derived engine, it was soon recognised that a bit more performance was required and so, in 1978, a turbocharged version was introduced. This 1982 Turbo was first used in Germany by a British army captain, and so wasn't registered in the UK until 1984 when he brought it back home with him. The car is finished in Mauritius Blue with a 'BH' black, grey and white pinstripe half-leather interior. It comes with an extensive service history, which documents a speedometer change at 73,858 miles by Dick Lovett Porsche in 1999. The vendor believes that there is enough history to support the mileage of approximately 84,000 as being correct, given the current speedometer reading of 10,178 miles. The history file includes the current and previous V5C documents, service books, a huge amount of bills and invoices dating back to the car's delivery days - there's enough to delight any keen car historian for many hours - and 16 MoT certificates, with a gap between 2007 and 2020 when the car was in storage. It has recently been recommissioned and just been issued with a fresh MoT, which is valid until September 2022. The car is in very good condition inside and out, with a missing weatherstrip at the bottom of the driver's door window being one of the few exterior faults. 1986 Citroën CX 25 Prestige AutoMake: Citroen Model: CX 25 Prestige Year: 1986Mileage: 141682VIN: VF7MANH0000NH6320Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: C950KMRTransmission: automatic As the CX in standard form had insufficient rear legroom to function as a chauffeur-driven limousine Citroën introduced the Prestige variant in 1976, offering an extra 10 inches of length. In 1977, the car also gained a raised roofline to improve headroom, with the roof often clothed in vinyl to denote the model's more luxurious status. This smart-looking 2499cc automatic transmission example, registered in January 1986, was in the hands of a Citroën specialist owner for 24 years. During the 1990s, it regularly picked up trophies and certificates at various Citroën Car Club events - which are still present with the car - but was taken off the road in 2008, albeit still regularly run. It passed to the vendor earlier this year, who had it recommissioned by marque specialist Pleaides with six new spheres, water pump, battery, temperature switch, engine oil and filter, fuel filter, air filter and spark plugs. The hydraulic pipes were also checked over and the CX given a new MoT. After detailing, the car went to the 2021 Citroën Car Club National Rally where it was awarded the prize for the best CX at the show. Subsequently, it completed the 100-mile-plus Wisbech Historic Vehicle Club road run in August this year. According to the Howmanyleft website, there are now just two Series 2 CX Prestiges left on the road, along with 18 currently SORN. The vendor describes the car as 'completely standard, including its Michelin TRX metric tyres' and also 'driving faultlessly'. Finished in gold with black vinyl roof and beige leather interior, the condition, inside and out, is very good. Included in the history folder are the current and previous V5Cs, plus the MoT certificate valid until July 2022 (with handwritten note about an oil leak actually being excess LHM fluid from an oil change). The recorded mileage is 141,682 miles. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR VIDEO PRODUCED 28TH SEPTEMBER BY ACA OF THIS CAR.

1987 Rover SD1 2600 Vanden Plas AutoMake: Rover Model: SD1 Vanden PlasYear: 1987Mileage: 59800VIN: SARRRFWM3CM345142Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: D976XFETransmission: automatic In 1980, the Vanden Plas badge reached Rover's SD1 executive model, being applied to 2600 and 3500 models to denote flagships. Among the standard features were electrically-adjustable, heated door mirrors, cruise control, air conditioning and an electric sunroof, plus Dunlop Denovo tyres on alloy wheels, and a choice of velvet or Connolly leather upholstery. This white 2600 automatic with brown velvet interior was registered in April 1987. The vendor advises us that it spent around 20 years off the road - albeit indoors and under cover - before being acquired by a garage that intended to bring it back to the road. However, progress was slow, and the job was eventually taken over the the vendor, who did finish things off. Having done quite a lot of engine work, he reports that the car "runs beautifully". The current recorded mileage is 59,871. The paperwork file includes the current V5C, Rimmer Bros SD1 parts and accessories catalogue, original owner's handbook, a handful of tax discs from the turn of the century and various 2021 bills during the car's recommissioning. These total around £1500 in parts, with another handwritten note by the vendor chronicling a further £700 of expenditure, including £170 for the wheels to be shotblasted and coated, £140 for a rear suspension conversion (the original self-levelling system is in the boot, however), £110 for tyres and £200 for a camshaft and carrier. Overall, this Rover is in tidy order. The vendor carried out a bottom half respray himself, which he admits isn't to professional standards, but looks presentable enough. The only electrical fault he notes is that the driver's door mirror is inoperative. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR VIDEO PRODUCED 12TH OCTOBER BY ACA OF THIS CAR.

1972 Range Rover Classic 3.5 V8 Manual Suffix A""Make: Land RoverModel: Ranger Rover Classic Year: 1972Mileage: 31000VIN: 35504671AConfiguration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: SCK670LTransmission: manual'Suffix A' Range Rover production ran from the introduction of the Rover's upmarket off-roader from 1970 through to 1973, when the 'Suffix B' models were introduced - thus, a Suffix A is the Range Rover in its purest, most original two-door form - and all the more desirable to enthusiasts because of that. This Tuscan Blue example, registered in September 1972, was restored five years ago but then never used. The vendor tells us that lots of money was spent, during what was a body-off rebuild. All the panels were dipped and painted, while the suspension was treated to Bilstein shocks, a new steering box and Polyurethane bushes throughout. The Rover V8 engine was rebuilt, an Allisport alloy radiator fitted, a new clutch put in, and the brakes renewed, with Goodridge brake lines throughout. A new fuel tank was installed, along with a Facet fuel pump. All tyres were renewed. While the vehicle has been sat in a dry garage for three years, it will need some recommissioning to be returned to the road. A new rear bumper is also required. The indicated mileage is 31,575. The history folder includes bills from the restoration running to several thousands, as well as the current V5C document. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR VIDEO PRODUCED 30TH SEPTEMBER BY ACA OF THIS CAR.

1992 Yamaha XJ600Make: YamahaModel: XJ600Year: 1992Mileage: 23213VIN: 3KM002859Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: J526XKYTransmission: manualYamaha's XJ600 was a lightweight motorcycle built between 1984 and 1991, sporting a 598cc four-cylinder double overhead cam engine of 72bhp. Among the notable features of the model were the displacement, being the first Japanese inline-four motorcycle with a 0.6-litre capacity, as well as having mono-shock rear suspension. Having been registered in January 1992, this XJ600 was one of the final ones to appear. The current odometer reading is 23,213; while this isn't warranted, a check of the online MoT history reveals that the total in February 2008 was 15,212 miles, so in the last 13 years, this bike has covered just 8000 miles. There isn't a great deal of paperwork, but the V5C is present, indicating 16 former owners. Bills include one for steering head bearings in 2015 and there are a handful of recent MoT certificates. The last MoT expired on the 11 December 2019. The motorbike's condition is very good for a near 30-year-old machine, with just a few signs of general wear apparent. The vendor tells us that the bike runs and rides.

Engine sizes encompassed 250cc, 250cc and 500cc during the type's life. Production continued through until 1959, making this 350cc example, built at the end of 1958 but registered in 1959, one of the final ones. Having been rebuilt during 2014 and 2015 by Magpie Motorcycles, the bike was allocated the registration number 147 UYU in 2016, having originally been registered WYK 569. It is believed to have covered just 150 miles since then, according to the odometer reading. The bike's overall condition is excellent. In the history folder, you'll find the most recent MoT (which expired in November 2018, but a motorcycle of this age is now exempt), 1970 tax disc, Ariel Owners' Motor Cycle Club dating certificate and a few magazine articles related to the model.

This Pininfarina coupe has been owned by the vendor for thirty years. He advises that it remained unused for several years awaiting a respray. The car is described as complete and original with all the brightwork and lights present in the car. Apart from the rear arches, the bodywork above the sills is good. Much of it is aluminium, the bonnet and boot are both present and correct. The engine turns, the brakes are stainless steel lined and the car rolls nicely. Retains the original wood and aluminium steering wheel. The vendor also advises that although the current V5 records his ownership since 2003, he has a previous V5 recording the correct year of 1998. The speedometer records 200,000 miles but less than 10,000 miles have been covered since the engine was rebuilt around fifteen years ago at Barry Waterhouse London.

Recommissioning work was carried out then but it is believed that although the car has been painted, it has never been restored and remains for the most part in original condition. Photos on file show that the Vauxhall was regularly presented at shows and used to tow a historic caravan in the 1980's and1990's. In 2017 the engine was rebuilt but the car is being sold as a non runner due to a problem with the distributor. 37,156 recorded miles. 1959 Land Rover 109 Series II Pick-up"Make: Land RoverModel: 109" Series IIYear: 1959Mileage: 38199VIN: 151000377Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: TRV662Transmission: manualRegistered in October 1959, this Land Rover 109" truck cab originally went to work with the newly-created Central Electricity Generating Board's Southern Division, and was worked hard until retirement in 1971. Since then, the vendor tells us, it was stored in various barns and sheds by the subsequent four owners. Its first post-CEGB owner kept it among a collection of Rolls-Royces and Bentleys and used it occasionally on the road until 1984, but after he passed away, it was given to one of his friends, who soon passed it onto somebody else. He stored it in a barn for seven years, after which it moved to another owner, who then put it away in a shed until 2004. The next owner, from that year onwards, also stored it in a shed - where it stayed until 2021. Thanks to its lack of use post-electricity board service, its recorded mileage is still low for a vehicle of this age, at an indicated 38,199 miles. It is believed to still be totally original, still with electricity board transfers in place on the doors and black and white flashes on the rear. The grey paint, although worn and battered, is original, with the bulkhead, chassis engine and gearbox untouched. Because it hasn't on the road since 1984, it will require recommissioning to be used again. Included in the history folder are two original buff logbooks, an MoT certificate from 1983 and the current V5C registration document.

Nevertheless, it looks very striking in its bright yellow AA Patrol Service livery. There's little in the way of paperwork; what there is includes the current V5C (recording eight former keepers), an MoT certificate from 2013, information on the Bond Owners' Club Spares scheme and Villiers Services (for engine components), and a handwritten note stating that the vehicle's previous colour was Shark Blue and its registration was 7750 TJ. Indicated mileage is 23,828 but this is unwarranted. The vehicle requires recommissioning to return to the road.

Historic Race MiniMake: MiniModel: Contact AuctioneerYear: 0Mileage: 0VIN: Contact AuctioneerConfiguration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: Contact AucitoneerTransmission: Contact AuctioneerAlmost since their invention, Minis have been enthusiastically raced. What they may have lacked in overall power they more than made up for in corners, being renowned for their handling. This ex-historic Touring Car racer was last campaigned in the 1990s, having been built from an early 1960s car which had seen very little use road use before its conversion, and was consequently rust-free. The vendor informs us that it was painted in two-pack Ford Diamond White around 15 years ago, but dry-stored after that. As a result, it remains in good condition. As a car totally focused on racing, this Mini isn't registered for road use and has had much of its interior stripped, to make it as lightweight and fast as possible. To save further weight, the boot, bonnet and doors are glassfibre while all the windows save for the windscreen are Perspex. The rollcage is a Rollcentre multipoint T45 weld-in cage enveloping a modern Sparco seat. There's a period Smiths rev counter and other instrumentation inside what is otherwise a very Spartan interior. Mechanically, the car has an AP Racing master cylinder, four-pot alloy brake calipers up front, Super Minifin drum brakes at the rear, braided brake hoses, adjustable rear camber and brake bias, rose-jointed front lower arms, rose-jointed front tie rods, Gaz adjustable lowered shock absorbers and Hi-Lo adjustable ride height. The wheels are 5J x 10 100+ items while the petrol tank is alloy with a new Bendix fuel tank. For anybody looking to get into historic Mini racing, this example presents an ideal opportunity to acquire something to use as a basis for motorsport, although before you unleash it on the circuit, you will need to fit your own engine as the Mini currently doesn't have one.

In August of 2019, there was an extensive amount of work undertaken including having the timing belt and tensioner replaced, a new water pump, replacement of all brake hoses, pipes and rear shoes, new battery, new exhaust, wheel refurbishment, four brand new tyres, the engine bay detailed and badges replaced. The original document wallet is enclosed, which includes the owner's manual, radio instructions and service book (stamped up to 44,693 miles in May 2019) and spare key. 1974 Ford Escort RS 2000Make: Ford Model: Escort RS 2000Year: 1974Mileage: 0VIN: BFATPU00032Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: GKM148NTransmission: manualUnlike the Anglia before it, the Ford Escort was available in several sporty performance forms, such as the Twin-Cam, RS1600, Mexico and RS2000. The latter, as here, had a 100bhp 1993cc overhead-cam Pinto engine and offered 100mph performance plus a lot of rear-wheel drive fun in a quite compact package. It was almost as fast as the more complicated RS1600 but as easy to look after and maintain as the Mexico, with which it shared its bodyshell. The car was launched in England on 11 October 1973 priced at £1586. This particular Escort RS2000 is an original, UK-supplied right-hand drive car delivered registered on 5 November 1974, finished in Stardust Silver with black with Charcoal cloth interior and polished wood dash inserts. After a series of owners, it had a period of over 10 years in storage in the early 2000s, after which it was partially restored, with a view to preservation rather than renewing. New old-stock front wings and a bonnet were sourced and fitted, and there was some paintwork. The original bumpers and rear light surrounds were re-chromed, the front and rear seats re-upholstered and the brake callipers overhauled and refitted. The history folder contains the V5C (noting 11 former registered keepers), an original sales brochure, assorted invoices (with several from around 2015 when the renovation work seems to have taken place), service book (but only with two stamps, up to 7136 miles in 1975), owner's manual, workshop manual supplement, tax discs from 1976 to 1998, and MoTs from 1989 to 1991, 1993, 1996 to 1997, 2006 and 2015. The odometer reading is 80,496 miles. Externally, the car is in very good order, albeit it with its rear RS2000 badge missing. The interior is also good, although the driver's sun visor is absent, the choke cable is loose and hanging down, the clock doesn't appear to be working, and some of the grey switches exhibit some mottling. A bonus fitment is the period Pioneer tape deck. The car seems to have spent some years unused, and so will therefore need some recommissioning to be returned to the road. This 2007 Arnage T was registered in June of that year, with a price tag of £175,000. Finished in Beluga Black with 19in two-piece polished alloy 'Blade' wheels and a Beluga Black pleated leather interior and carbon fibre inserts on the dash instead of the usual wood, the recorded mileage is 35,399. Eight former registered keepers are recorded on the V5C. The history folder contains the original document wallets complete with sat nav operating instructions, warranty information and car phone guide, plus owner's handbook and service booklet stamped up to 24,977 miles in January 2016. There are MoT certificates from 2014, 2016, 2017. The current MoT is valid until the end of September 2022. There's a small selection of bills, with the most recent - from August 2021 - being for a battery. In May 2021, there was £1650 of paintwork and machine polishing. A big bonus for a new owner is a print-out from supplying dealer Jack Barclay detailing the full specification of the car, with all options listed. The car's overall condition is very good, given that there's been recent attention to the paintwork. There is some orange peel paint reaction around the left-hand side of the rear window, but this is only noticeable very close up. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR VIDEO PRODUCED 22ND OCTOBER BY ACA OF THIS CAR.

Ford Focus BTCC Race CarMake: FordModel: FocusYear: 0Mileage: 0VIN: Contact AuctioneerConfiguration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: Contact AucitoneerTransmission: manualOur vendor, and ex BTTC driver has provided us with the following narrative: Built by GR Motorsport in 2000 as a production BTCC car. GR Motorsport ran four of these cars, winning the production BTTC team championship. Matt Jackson, Gareth Howell and Rick Kraemer raced the other cars but Richard Meins raced this one, except at Knockhill where Gordon Shedden ran it in his BTTC debut, getting a first and second in class and 5th overall. He is now a three times BTTC Champion and current driver. Purchased four years ago in parts, once its history was unearthed it was restored back to its original colour scheme and Scholar Race Engines rebuilt the engine. The car will require light recommissioning before being used, he believes it to be potentially eligible for the Silverstone Classic and Super Tourers. Further research leads him to believe that the car raced in Macau on three occasions. The original build cost for each of the cars was close to £100,000 back in 2000

All the wood inlay has been replaced (not wrapped) with carbon fibre, the seats have been recovered in thick perforated black leather with yellow stitching and piping, and the roof lining has also been redone in leather with yellow diamond stitching. The sound system has been upgraded as well. The paperwork file includes the V5C showing 11 former registered keepers. 1964 Jaguar MKX 3.8 AutomaticMake: JaguarModel: MKXYear: 1964Mileage: 5890VIN: 307362BWConfiguration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: ABC757BTransmission: automaticThis example of Jaguar's huge and powerful luxury leviathan of the 1960s was registered in March 1964. It is finished in green with matching green leather interior. The current V5C lists five former keepers, and there are a few past V5 documents included in the history file as well. This also has a selection of MoTs from 2017 back to 1983, various bills from the 1970s onwards, and a handful of tax discs. Documents dating from the car's purchase include the Jaguar manufacturer's warranty, Radiomobile radio guarantee and service book - or 'periodic maintenance vouchers' booklet, as Jaguar liked to refer to it. There are 2002 and 2003 receipts from Jaguar specialist Robinson & Godwin Classics of Grimsby totalling £5000 for an engine and gearbox overhaul and some further renovation work, although little detail is given. This would have been around the 62,000-mile mark. The current odometer reading is 05891; referring to the history suggests this is actually 105,891. Overall condition is good, although there is some tarnishing apparent on the chrome and some bubbles apparent in areas on the paint. The seats have some surface cracks and the dashboard and door capping wood has some deterioration in places, but is generally surviving well. The rear window weatherstrip has started to break up around the back parcel shelf. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR VIDEO PRODUCED 28TH SEPTEMBER BY ACA OF THIS CAR.

1994 Range Rover Vogue LSE Lloyd Supercharged Make: Land RoverModel: Range Rover LSEYear: 1994Mileage: 82000VIN: SALLHBM33MA649247Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: L56BDGTransmission: automatic This metallic blue Range Rover LSE automatic was registered in March 1994 but from the late-1990s onwards, it seems the then owner became almost obsessed with ways of upgrading and improving the vehicle. In 1998, a supercharger was added to the V8 engine, although judging by correspondence in the history folder, the Range Rover seemed to go through quite a few of these. That was until 2016 when Lloyd Specialist Developments, a company with particular expertise in modifying Rover V8 engines, built a 4.8-litre V8 fitted with a Rotrex C38 supercharger for the vehicle. While it's unclear how much power the Range Rover now has, it's likely to be quite substantial. The history folder is a very extensive and well-organised one. The V5C is present, and shows three registered former keepers. The current MoT certificate is valid until April 2022, and there's a selection of previous MoTs in the file. However, it's the detailed invoices and correspondence dating from 1998 onwards that really tell the story of this Range Rover. Many, many thousands of pounds have been spent over the years, on body, mechanical and interior repairs and enhancements. A lot of care and attention to detail has been lavished on it over the years, no matter how big or small the job. The current mileage is around 82,000 miles, which can be warranted from the history file. The Range Rover is in excellent condition throughout.

1985 Mazda RX-7 FBMake: Mazda Model: RX7Year: 1985Mileage: 67785VIN: JMZFB131200702776Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: B30WFJTransmission: manualMazda's RX-7 was the model that brought the Wankel rotary engine to widespread acceptance, being produced over three generations from 1978 to 2002. The sleek and sculptured first generation cars, running through to 1985, are the most desirable models among classic Japanese enthusiasts. The vendor believes that this is 'almost certainly the best UK right-hand drive Mazda RX-7 in existence', and, after a total restoration including an engine rebuild, its condition is certainly excellent, inside and out. In fact, virtually the only exterior flaw is some light cracking to the rear polyurethane spoiler, while the red/brown interior has virtually no flaws. During an extended road test for Classic Car Weekly - which will be featuring the car before it is auctioned - the RX-7 also drove extremely well, with a delightfully rorty exhaust note. The history folder is almost as superbly presented as the car; a large leather folder with everything organised in clear folders. It contains the history of the car from 1990, when it was acquired from a Mazda main dealer with 59,000 miles on the clock. That owner reputedly kept it in a heated garage but used it sparingly for days out and shows. There's lots of paperwork from his time with the car. When the car was sold in 2014, the next owner had the wheels professionally refurbished, before it went to a new keeper. An investigation to find out why there was excessive smoke resulted in the engine being rebuilt again, at 67,780 miles in December 2020. At the same time, a new clutch was fitted, the carburettor was stripped and rebuilt, items in the engine bay were powder-coated, the brakes were dismantled to resolve some binding and a Racing Beat stainless steel exhaust was fitted. The cost of this came to £4750. There was a rebuild and repaint around the same time (although the £6485 estimate for this reads 2010, we think this is a typing error as it is addressed to the owner who only bought the car in 2019, and there is further correspondence and pictures showing the work being done during December 2020). Four new Nankang Sportnex tyres were fitted in April 2021. Other invoices in the file date back to the 1980s; this is a vehicle that has had many thousands spent on it, There are also current and previous V5Cs, two sets of spare keys, a Mazda-branded full car cover, tax discs from 2004, 2011 and 2012, document wallet with owner's handbook and stamped service booklet, a range brochure, and MoT certificates from 2019, 2017, 2016, 2014, 2013, 2012, 2011 and 2010. The current MoT is valid until February 2022 and the present mileage is 67,785.

1989 TVR 280 S2Make: TVRModel: 280 S2 Year: 1989Mileage: 66000VIN: SA9DSN2P6LL019186Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: G213YLHTransmission: manualAfter the advent of the TVR's more wedge-shaped, expensive and powerful cars of the 1980s, based on the Tasmin design, the S series later on in the decade was pitched as an entry level option. There was a return to the curves of the earlier cars, along with Ford V6 'Cologne' engines. The S2, as here, was introduced in 1988 with a 2922cc V6 as also found in contemporary Sierras, Granadas and Scorpios. The vendor purchased this car in September 2013, and had various work carried out over the years including a glassfibre respray in 2018. All panels were also realigned and there were new outriggers and a new exhaust as well. In addition, the alloy wheels were refurbished, at a cost of £270. The vendor reports that the car has been serviced annually and waterless antifreeze is now in use to improve cooling. A new battery was fitted in September of this year. The odometer indicates a mileage of circa 65,554, which is backed up by all the documentation. A check on the online MoT history reveals that since its 2006 MoT, just over 2000 miles have been covered. A fresh MoT has just been put on the car, which is valid until October 2022. The history folder includes the V5C and owner's document wallet with owner's handbook and service record (albeit only stamped up to 23,419 miles in 1991). There are assorted tax discs, various MoTs from 1997 onwards, and a huge amount of bills and invoices from the 1990s onwards, testifying to a lot of care, attention and expenditure over the years. A spare set of keys also comes with the car, as does a Haynes Ford Sierra workshop manual (for engine information) and a more specific manual on the S series range in general (the pages of which have unfortunately detached from their ring-binder, but seems complete). 1973 Triumph TR6 PiMake: TriumphModel: TR6Year: 1973Mileage: 64374VIN: CR8100Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: SBW388LTransmission: manualThe Triumph TR6 is regarded as the last of the traditional TR sports cars, with a lineage that can be traced directly back to the first production model, the TR2, of 1953. Introduced in 1968, it kept the centre section, frame, 2.5-litre six-cylinder engine and running gear of the previous TR5, but with a more modern nose and tail designed by German coachbuilder Karmann grafted on. The vendor tells us that this example was fully restored in 2015, and 'has been maintained to a high standard and in in perfect running condition'. The current odometer reader is 64,374 miles. The history folder includes the current V5C (noting 15 former keepers), the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate (which indicates that the car was once Emerald Green) and MoTs from 2016 to 2018. The file of bills dates from 2015 to 2017, many of them relating to the restoration. Major items include a fuel injection metering unit, steering rack, bonnet assembly, carpet set, hood cover and seat foam set. There's also a set of spare keys. Thanks to having only covered less than 500 miles since restoration, this Triumph TR6 remains in excellent condition throughout, although a perfectionist may want to realign the bonnet to even up the panel gaps. 1978 Ford Escort RS 2000 MK2Make: Ford Model: Escort RS 2000Year: 1978Mileage: 63975VIN: CXATUR63333Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: YNF669STransmission: manualThe Escort RS2000 Mk2 is one of the most desirable of all 1970s' 'fast' Fords, and also one of the most distinctive, with its wedge-shaped polyurethane nose cone and other performance styling flourishes. This Diamond White example originated from South Africa and is one of fewer than 1000 made there. The two-door bodyshell has the same heavy duty inner wings and rear chassis rails as the UK shells, along with a rear stabiliser bar and large fuel tank located in the boot over the rear axle. All the cars were fitted with opening front quarterlights (to combat the warmer, dry climate) and Beta cloth-trimmed Scheel recliners, which are still fitted on this example. The car has its correct RS2000 features including the 2.0-litre Pinto engine with progressive twin-venturi single Weber carburettor and original four-speed gearbox. It is fitted with original 6J x 13in RS alloy wheels and the 185/60 R13 tyres are nearly new. The Weathershields Ltd Sunway Roof has, apparently, been fitted from new. Supplied new in 1978 and imported to the UK in 2015, this car is now fully UK registered. The history file includes the current V5C, old MoT certificates, import paperwork and invoices totalling over £2300 for mechanical and cosmetic parts. There's also a picture of the Escort and its proud owner at the Hoddesdon Town Centre Vintage and Classic Vehicle Display in 2015, where it won Car of the Show. There are some blemishes to the paintwork visible, but the refurbishment seems to have been undertaken to a generally good standard. All trim sections and RS decals and badges remain intact and in excellent order. Inside, the seats have been retrimmed. All dashboard functions operate perfectly. The dash top has been re covered and the original leather bound three spoke steering wheel remains with a RS central boss cover. The carpets and door cards are in excellent condition. 1939 Rover P2 10Make: Rover Model: P2 10 Year: 1939Mileage: 0VIN: 902596Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: CED511Transmission: manualThis lovely-looking 1939 Rover 10 P2 has come from a small private collection, where it had been since 2006. Known as Cedric, in reference to its CED 511 numberplate, little is known about the 1389cc car's earlier life except that it was sold new on Anglesey. Following discovery in a Cumbrian barn in 1967, it was fully restored and repainted brown and cream. In 2003, it was sold and subsequently refurbished again, this time being painted green. During 2008, it was repainted once again in maroon and black, the livery it wears today and which particularly suits it. The current mileage is showing as 65,820 on the odometer, with six previous registered keepers recorded. The history folder is huge, with the current V5C present along with some previous V5Cs. There are many photos of body work being undertaken over the years (including one set showing attention during 2012), assorted parts catalogues, Pearson workshop manual, and relevant magazines, and tax discs, MoTs invoices dating back over many decades. There are even some toll tickets - it seems that almost everything related to this Rover has been saved and preserved. An insurance assessment from 2011 cites the then 63,901-mile Rover as being 'one of the finest examples of this model still used regularly by a very caring owner'. Improvements listed include a galvanised floor, stainless steel exhaust and thorough underbody seal comprised of old engine oil and waxoyl done personally by the owner. Electric washers were fitted, the braking system overhauled and the original leather seats and West of England cloth headlining described as in remarkable condition for their age. The Rover also comes with some spare keys.

GKN alloy wheels and air conditioning were standard, and there were also revised seats. Under the bonnet, the mighty 6.3-litre V8 engine was superseded by the even mightier 7.2-litre V8. Registered in January 1973, the vendor tells us that this Interceptor, in blue with beige leather interior, was restored and then placed into dry storage for 29 years. Recent work since it re-emerged has included an aluminium fuel tank (£799.95). The odometer reading is now 45,045 miles. The paperwork folder includes the current V5C, recording six former keepers, plus several invoices for recent work. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR VIDEO PRODUCED 12TH OCTOBER BY ACA OF THIS CAR.

In its final year, just 4000 were built, making this late example quite a rare machine. This white 1.3 Clubman example is fitted with the venerable and robust 1275cc A-Series engine, developing 68bhp. Supplied new by Rover Central Garages in Torbay, the V5C records this car as having had four previous keepers. The expiry date for the MoT is May 2022, and the odometer records 49,097 miles covered. The history folder includes original owner's books in their Rover wallet. The service book is stamped up until 34,033 miles in 2004, but there is a handwritten note attesting to an owner service at 48,721 miles during July 2021. The oil was changed and a new distributor cap, thermostat and spark plugs were fitted, while the cooling system was flushed and refilled with Comma G48 coolant. There are also MoT certificates from 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2019, and a few older bills. A spare key is also included. Built by Ford at Dagenham, the Consul MKII was produced to modernise the Consul and Zephyr/Zodiac range, with its additional chrome and larger interior. The Zephyr and Zodiac focused on the upper end of the market while the Consul satisfied the needs of the masses with its four-cylinder engine. This car was retained by the first owner until 1982 and then the second owner until 2008. After fifty-three years it was acquired by the MKII Owners Club who stated that it was possibly the earliest MKII Consul in existence as it has a flat rear panel whereas the vast majority were fluted. It was featured on the front cover of Classic Car Weekly in 2009, a copy of which is included in the history file. Described by the vendor as a very good driving example with both a good engine and gearbox. Its history file covers mostly from the 1980's through to the present including many MoTs dating from the 1980's to 2020 when last issued, some receipts dating from 2009 to 2020, articles, work analysis from 2012 to 2016 and magazaines.
