CARLOS ALBERTO: (1944- ) Brazilian Footballer, Captain of the Brazil national team who won the 1970 World Cup. Signed colour 10 x 8 photograph, the image depicting Carlos Alberto standing on the top of a fire engine with the Jules Rimet trophy as he participates in a victory parade with thousands of Brazilians cheering on the streets. Signed in bold blue ink with his name alone to a clear area of the image. EX Carlos Alberto scored the fourth goal in the World Cup final of 1970 against Italy, sealing his teams 4-1 victory at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City on 21st June 1970. The goal is widely considered to be one of the greatest in the history of the tournament.
LATHAM HUBERT: (1883-1912) French Aviation Pioneer, the first person to attempt to cross the English Channel in an aeroplane. Due to engine failure on his first of two attempts to cross the Channel, he became the first person to land an aeroplane on a body of water. Vintage signed postcard photograph, an engaging image of Latham in a head and shoulders pose wearing a flat cap and with a cigarette in his mouth. Signed with his name alone in bold fountain pen ink, largely across a clear area at the centre of the image. Autographs of Latham are rare in any form following his early death at the age of 29 in somewhat uncertain circumstances whilst on an expedition of the French Congo. EX

A Swiss Gilt and Enamel Singing Bird Box, in the manner of Charles Bruguier, 19th century, of bombé sided rectangular form, with all over foliate engraved and engine turned decoration, the sky blue enamelled plateau with black enamel scroll angles enclosing a central hinged lid enamelled with a typical view of Lake Geneva with a boat and building in the foreground and the Alps in the background, the underside of the lid with a spray of roses and tulips, revealing a flower and scroll fretted plateau from which emerges a small feather decorated single bird, operated by front slide release, and wound by a key contained in a rear compartment, 9.8cm by 6.4cm 3.3cm Minute hairline crack in rear left sky blue enamelled angle. Tiny flakes around the hinge of the oval lid. Slight rubbing of gilding on slide. Rear left upper screw loose. Contains key. 050615
An Art Deco 9ct Gold Cigarette Case, retailed by Garrard & Co, London 1934, rectangular with all over engine turned decoration and an inscription to the interior, 8.5cm long, 92.8g Marks a little worn, makers mark not clear, clear retailers mark around rim. Some dirt in the ET decoration but otherwise good.
A George VI Silver Butt Marker, maker's mark DRH, Birmingham 1938, the rectangular case with engine turned decoration, the hinged cover opening to reveal two retrofitted folding arms each with five numbered butt markers, 10cm wide, 10oz 4dwt all in Worn engine turned decoration around the edges from use. Provenance: from a local estate where it has been in use.endraved inside MMI from WEI 12 12 41. Small dent to back. Other than signs of use no other defects noted. Butt markers fit well into their slots, although some are a little looser than others.
