Viner, London an English carriage clock having a timepiece single-fusee movement with a plain gold balance to the lever escapement, the silvered dial with engine-turned centre, black Roman numerals, blued-steel fleur-de-lys hands and signed Viner, London, the gilded brass case with turned columns to the corners, a Greek-key handle and standing on bun feet, height 25cm handle up, 22cm handle down.Charles Edward Viner was born in 1788, apprenticed to Thomas Savage in 1802, free of the Clockmakers' Company in 1813, and was a Liveryman from 1819. His workshops were located at Red Lion Street, Clerkenwell, London. He died in 1875.
