A late 19th century Le Roy & Fils of Paris gilt brass cased strut clock, in original fitted leather case, having engine turned signed silvered dial and subsidiary seconds dial, with keywind watch movement, stamped to back cover, h.14cm, the case further stamped to silk inset cover.Not currently running, appears overwound.Some tarnishing to dial and case.Leather to outer case is scuffed.Case interior good.

A late 19th nickel plated erotic automaton vesta case, the rectangular case with engine turned exterior opening to reveal a gilt brass bedroom scene, 5.6cm W (at fault)condition report: We believe there is a section to the right of the erotic scene missing which is other similar models looks to be a cheval mirror, plate wear to the exterior of the case concentrated around the corners of the vesta, wear from scuffing is apparent on the interior gilt brass scene where high points make contact with the lid, striker is very worn, the sprng loaded covers are functional. In order to activate erotic scene you have to manually wind wheel beneath coverl, gilt brass scene still clear, general wear throughout commensurate with age and useage.

His method was patented in 1785, describing the process as '... then stamped with a hammer, stamp, screw press, or any engine of sufficient force, between two steel dyes, one or both of the dyes having the exact form of the spoon or other article intended.'
