A fine mid 19th century English gilt brass chronometer carriage timepiece by Dent, the movement with a chain fusee and a chronometer escapement with blued steel helical spring and a cut and compensated bi-metallic balance with fourteen timing screws, with an Earnshaw detent escapement, the spotted backplate inscribed 'Dent 33, Cockspur St. LONDON 21246', the glazed rear door with twin shuttered winding key apertures, the white enamel circular dial, with blued steel hands and recessed subsidiary seconds dial, inscribed 'DENT 33 COCKSPUR ST. LONDON', within an engine turned outer frame, the moulded case with bevelled glass panels, the dished top with a faceted handle, 17.1cm high (including handle).
A Regency ormolu mantel clock in Louis XV style by James McCabe, the eight day fusee movement striking on a bell, the backplate inscribed 'James McCabe London 2792', the circular dial with Roman numerals, with fleur de lys hands and an engine turned centre, in a Rococo style case decorated with scrolls, rocaille and flowers, 35cm high, 21.8cm wide, 15cm deep.
