WW1 Royal Flying Corps "Old Contemptible" Member Casualty Pair of Medals.Awarded to "1163 SJT C. JACKSON RFC". Comprising: British War Medal, Victory Medal. Sergeant Charles Jackson was a direct entrant into the RFC enlisting on the 18th March 1914. He landed in France after the 1st January 1916 and whilst serving at the Engine Repair shop depot was accidentally Killed on the 11th November 1917. Information supplied by the vendor believes he was hit by a rotating propellor. He was issued the BWM & VM.

Eight hand mirrors, all with bevelled glass, comprising one silver engine turned with pink enamel, London 1931; one silver plated circular embossed with angel heads in clouds; four ebony, (one circular, three oval) together with one faux tortoiseshell oval and one faux ivory circular example. (8). CR. Some scratches to glasses, pink enamel has small area chipped, faux ivory has edge cracked, otherwise good condition.

A 9-carat gold engine-turned smoker's compendium by S. J. Rose & Son, Birmingham, 1963, with steel blade and cigar piercer, with tobacco tamper at one end and suspension loop at opposite end, narrow rectangular vacant reserve on one side, 7.2 cm. long.Good condition, marked on both sides, on one side the maker's mark is rubbed.
A Continental 4-piece sewing set, probably French, mid-19th century, comprising silver-gilt scissors with detachable case and steel blades, silver-gilt awl with steel spike and silver-gilt needle case, all with engine-turning and foliate decoration, and a gold thimble with enamel floral frieze in blue, red and green, in wood case with marquetry rose spray, lined in turquoise silk and dark green velvet, box 12.6 cm. long.Some losses to enamel frieze on thimble, minor wear to silk, couple of tiny scratches to wood, generally good, main issue is loss to enamel on thimble
A Victorian silver retractable pencil by S. Mordan & Co., circa 1845-60, the engine turned barrel signed 'S.Mordan & Co Makers', with chased sliding piece and finial, the latter set with hardstone and unscrews to reveal compartment for six leads, 9.3mm long CONDITION: small pin head dent to barrel, missing the piece to secure the lead.
A T & J Hollins smear-glazed jug early 19th century, applied with a standing portrait of Nelson beside a tree sprig bearing a large English rose, and with HMS Victory at sail beside Fame and Britannia, the engine turned neck decorated with a rich brown glaze, impressed mark, 18.5cm.
