Ambassador 3 Star motorcycle. 1960. 197cc.Frame No. X36018882Engine No. 580B3333Runs & rides. Has had an engine rebuild and believed to have done 4 miles since. Featuring its original Villiers 9E engine. It was manufactured in March of 1960 and is currently one of twenty one 1960 Three Stars known to exist and recorded on the Ambassador Machine Register (October 2022).Petrol tap is missing.Reg. Norton Model 7 motorcycle. 1953.Frame No. 48112H12Engine No. 48112H12This bike is part of the Ian Dettmer collection and is being sold due to ill health.The bike was purchased by Ian in 2009 in poor condition, Ian has restored this bike with no expense spared. The engine is the standard iron head 'Dominator' 497cc O.H.V vertical twin. It is fitted with a 6 Volt Lucas dynamo for the 'illuminations' plus Lucas magneto for the spark. Ian has taken it to shows and rallies over the years and it has been ridden on a regular basis. The bike c/w a Norton Owners Club factory record certificate, old receipts, old MOT papers and tax papers. Reg. MKV 191. V5
Norton model 18 motorcycle. 1929. Frame No. 35804Engine No. 42932This bike is part of the Ian Dettmer collection and is being sold due to ill health. The bike featured in a 6-page spread in the Real Classic magazine in 2018. This Norton has overgone an extensive restoration over the last 4 years, the 490cc engine has been completely rebuilt, many parts powder coated and in excess of £10,000 spent on it. Unfortunately due to Ian's health the bike hasn't quite been finished, it just needs a bit of chrome work before heading out on the roads. Hemming flat tank motorcycle. 1922. With Blackburne 4¼HP engine and Moss 3 speed gearbox. Frame No. L516Engine No. F371This bike is part of the Ian Dettmer collection and is being sold due to ill health. This is a genuine Hemming motorcycle and the only one made. The V5 states it is a Blackburne which is incorrect, it was wrongly registered many years ago. The bike comes with history backing this up. This bike was made by Frank Hemming in the twenties in Weston-Super-Mare, Somerset. Mr Hemming completed the bike in 1923 where it was registered as a Hemming. Mr Hemming rode this bike until 1929 when it was then stored in his shop. The bike was then stored until 1979 where it was auctioned off and fully restored back to its former glory. The bike c/w a box of parts and accessories specifically made for this bike. It also c/w a folder of newspaper cuttings and plenty of history. Reg. YA 5569
