1928 Austin 7 Model AC Chummy, Registration VW 6305 (being applied for), Owned since 1963.This charming 'oily rag' Vintage Austin 7 tourer with its correct higher nickel plated radiator and wing mounted lights was bought by the vendor in winter 1963 from Snape in Suffolk with a collapsed hood, full of snow and with flat tyres. He trailered it home and got it running and then put it on blocks in a dry barn where it has remained for many years in slumber. According to a previous owner (1954 to 1960, £25 paid) it appeared in a photo in "The Autocar" in 1954. During his retirement the owner's attention returned to the little Chummy and in 2017 a programme of restoration started. This included an engine strip and light overhaul, magneto and starter motor overhaul , new clutch, brakes re-lined, new springs, significant body work to the tub, new rear wings and running boards, repaired hood frame, re painting as "in period" by hand, re-wiring etc. Most of this work was carried out by Lee Scott Classic Car Services with bills totalling over £7.500. Work to be still completed includes interior re-trim (seat frames and old trim patterns included), new hood canvas and side screens (frames included) and other minor fettling consistent with finishing off a restoration project. We are informed the car runs and moves under its own power and is supplied with a history file and many spare parts needed to finish the project. A rare opportunity to buy a low ownership Chummy project with most of the hard work already done. The registration VW 6305 is currently not registered with the DVLA, however, the car does have an original buff log book stating that this its number and with help from the Austin 7 Club, we are fairly confident it will be reunited with the car by application to the DVLA, although this cannot be guaranteed. 1960 Chevrolet Impala 4 door Sport Sedan, Registration MSU 373, Vin 01839B204279. This stunning American classic with its "Jet smooth" aircraft inspired lines with "bat wing" tail fins was the new look for the 1960 Impala range. Although very rare in this country it proved very popular with the American buying public. The very stylish Fisher body is finished in pale blue silver metallic with a chequer cloth and duo tone upholstery with blue carpets. It is fitted with a V8 4,638 cc engine coupled with automatic gearbox. At some point it has been professionally converted to run on L.P.G. as well as petrol and has an ancillary tank in the boot. The speedometer shows 67,460 miles approximately which may well be genuine but not guaranteed. The car was imported to England in 1988 and was cherished by its late owner who had it regularly maintained and improved. He derived much pleasure from showing it and attending rallies in it. It is supplied with a V5 document, old MOTs, bills, spare keys and related documentation. A very rare American classic of which there are very few examples in England. (Subject to 12% buyers' premium inclusive of VAT)POST SALE COLLECTIONS:We are open for collections until 1pm on Saturday 7th September and we are open again on Monday 9th & Tuesday 10th September between 9am & 5pm for collections.Any cars remaining onsite after 12 noon on Wednesday 11th September, will be moved to our offsite storage facility at a cost of £50 per vehicle & £10 per day thereafter.
1960 Alvis TD21 coupe , owned since 1968, Registration 3445 NG, believed only three owners from new with extensive history. This wonderful Classic Alvis project was bought by the vendors father in March 1968 with 57,860 miles on the clock for £375 (original bill of sale included). According to the service history booklet it only had two previous owners being originally supplied to Mr T.A. Ringer of The Grange, West Rudham. It was the vendors fathers pride and joy and was regularly driven and enjoyed and there is a huge file of correspondence and bills both with the Alvis factory and Red Triangle Autoservices during his ownership. By the early 1980s with 120,000 miles on the clock he decided to restore the car including having the engine rebuilt, starter and dynamo rebuilt, chassis, brakes and suspension overhauled, new tyres, axle rebuilt, a full stainless steel exhaust system fitted, parts re-chromed, body work stripped and the roof of the car resprayed in silver along with the wheels. The lower half of body given a first coat of paint. This work took many years and sadly he didn't manage to finish it although all the major jobs seem to have been completed. It still has its original leather interior which appears in good order but will now require re-assembly and finishing off to complete the late owners desire to have his beloved Alvis back on the road in first class order. It is complete with large history file of correspondence and restoration bills, original service book fully completed up to 1967, original handbook , workshop manual and old V5 document. A very worthy project with all the hard work done. (Subject to 12% buyers' premium inclusive of VAT).
