The grille and cover open and close tightly and neatly. No personalised engraving. In generally good original condition.

A RUSSIAN SILVER SALT circular, with engine-turned ground, engraved L v. F.F. to a cartouche, inscribed on the underside. 4.5cm diameterMarks clear to underside. Inscription reads 'v. Grossmama / Sophie v. Falz-Fein' (possibly Sophie von Falz-Fein, née Knauff, b.1835, d.1919). Stands upright on three feet, no rocking. Gilded to interior. Small crack to base, lightly visible inside and underneath. Surface tarnish and light scratches commensurate with age and use.
