1943 BSA M20 Reg.no. KTO 498 Frame no. WM20 2096178 Engine no. WM20 2096178 The M20 evolved into one of the longest serving motorcycles in the history of British military motorcycling, as well as becoming the most numerous type produced for WWII with 126,000 in active service, so therefore many are still in use today. This motorcycle still retains its original matching numbers frame and engine and was first registered on the 15th April 1948. This originality is thought to be highly unusual for a military motorcycle. This bike has most of the military accessories of the period, including field stand, engine bash plate (these are pattern items), original front mudguard lower stay, convoy tail light and rear panniers (although the bags are not of the correct type, however they are ex WD haversacks and are dated 194? And 1943.This motorcycle was in regular use between 2002 and 2009, although it has seen limited use since. By the time of the sale the vendor hopes to have completed one last adventure on a trip to Snowdonia, N. Wales. It should be noted by the old MOT certificates that the annual mileage between 2002 and 2007 seems very high, this was due to an error with the mileometer. A replacement was fitted in 2007 and the mileage after this date is more accurate. It is MOT’d until June. Bidding is taking place on our sister site i-bidder.com Click here to bid
c. 1948 Scott 600cc Reg.no. NFO 198 Frame no. 5360 Engine no. DPY 5520 Shortly after WWII, Scott re-launched the Flying Squirrel and it was available in 500cc and 600cc engines. The Squirrel name had been used by Scott since 1921 and it was with this model that the company achieved success on the track at the Isle of Man TT in 1929. The current owner of this machine has spent recent years abroad, so the motorcycle has not seen much use following the fitting of many new parts. These included a complete clutch, headstock bearings, gaskets, cables, seat covers and brakes. The frame has been stripped and re-painted. Last on the road in 1997, the bike has recently been re-commissioned and MOT’d. We are told that there is plenty of technical data that will be handed to the new owner. It has a V5c and current MOT. 1975 Jawa 50cc Moped Reg.no. JYS 292N Frame no. 72094 Engine no. 72094 Jawa Motokov is a motorcycle manufacturer based in the Czech Republic and was founded in Prague by Frantisek Janecek who bought the motorcycle division of Wanderer in 1929. The name Jawa was in fact devised as an amalgamation of the founders name and the name Wanderer. Jawa made a variety of mopeds with two-stroke engines, including the Babetta and was one of the first companies to include electronic ignition on their mopeds. This example was restored in 1999, during which time new piston rings were fitted, following which the bike has been stored in a collection. It has a V5c and old style log book. 1958 Velocette Valiant Reg.no. 382 KVX Frame no. 2124/33 Engine no. 200/1772 Launched at the 1956 Earl’s Court Motorcycle Show, the Valiant had a 192cc engine and it was a development of the ‘LE’. It had a two piece cover that enclosed most of the crankcase and gearbox. The air cooled overhead valve engine was mounted in a duplex frame with a single top tube with a bigger crankcase and cast iron cylinders with steel pushrod tubes and alloy heads. Examples of the Valiant are rarely seen today and are an ideal machine for club runs, being light and easy to maintain. We are advised that the bike is running and the gearbox has not presented any problems. Bidding is taking place on our sister site i-bidder.com Click here to bid
1961 Matchless 500cc Twin Reg.no. 903 MYC Frame no. A49357 Engine no. S542018976 Matchless is one of the oldest marques of British motorcycles, first manufacturing bikes in 1899. They produced a wide range of models and even had a long history of racing success. In 1949 the first Matchless vertical twin 500cc was produced which like other Matchless models, was a predictable handling, comfortable, well made, reliable and economical machine for its day. Unfortunately such great attributes were not enough to keep them in business and the name disappeared in 1966. This motorcycle has been in long term ownership, approximately 35 years, and it was rebuilt in 2000. It was then used until 2006 then dry stored since. A gentle re-commissioning will be required prior to its return to the road. It is sold with V5c. Bidding is taking place on our sister site i-bidder.com Click here to bid
