Registration : F449 TRE Chassis Number : 2GT00A-007307 Engine Number : 2GT00A-EO13585 Odometer reading : 63,517 miles Estimate : No Reserve The ZG1000 is a sport touring motorcycle, manufactured between 1986 and 2006 by Kawasaki. It has a six speed, four cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with shaft drive and can reach speeds of over 120mph. It offers nimble handling and, with its 28 litres fuel capacity, is suited to cross-country two-up (or three with a side-car) touring. It was tested by the magazine Motorcyclist at the time which concluding that it was 'the most practical, useful and competent motorcycle made'. This example has been owned by the vendor for last ten years and used little in that time. The bike itself is reported to be a Special Edition version, up-rated to 104bhp. Coupled to the side is a Watsonian-Squire Grand Prix side car. The combination has been undertaken correctly as the bike now has Earles forks and a steering damper to cope with the added weight. The sidecar retains the traditional octagonal nose shape dating from the 1920′s with the traditional polished aluminium beading on the nose section and cast luggage rails at the rear with upholstered seating for the passenger. It is supplied with a UK registration document and a full one year MoT test certificate.

Chassis Number : 072262 Engine Number : 072262 Estimate : £750 - £1,000 The TY models were a range of trial bikes made by Yamaha - the TY standing for 'Trial Yamaha'. They were developed by the French trialist Christian Rayer in 1971 and then by the British rider Mick Andrews who won two world titles in 1971 and 1972. The first TY model to be marketed was a 250cc in late 1973 but the most famous remains the 125cc model which revolutionised the practice of trial in France. It was on this bike that French rider Thierry Michaud began his career, later becoming triple world champion trialist. Two types of Yamaha TY125 were produced throughout his 16 year career - the earlier TY125 Type 541 (1975-1976)and later TY125 1K6 kind (1976-1991). This TY125 1K6 was recently restored in 2014 complete with engine rebuild and new big end, main bearings, pistons and a re-bore. Amongst the new parts included are the seat, rear shock absorbers and rear mudguard and accompanying the motorcycle is even a Haynes user manual. This lovely un-registered example will surely be a treasure for any prospective new owner.

Engine Number : RL250-20967 Estimate : £800 - £1,200 In the Early 1970s, Honda and Yamaha both produced competitive trials machines to try and end the domination of the Spanish manufacturers, Ossa, Bultaco and Montesa. Suzuki's first competitive trials machine was actually developed and built in the UK by Graham Beamish in 1974. Beamish enlisted the help of local trials ace Brian Fowler to set about modifying these machines so that they would prove more acceptable to British trials riders. The Suzuki factory was delighted with the success of the Beamish operation and as a mark of their approval, gave Beamish Motors the world-wide manufacturing rights for Suzuki-powered trials machines, an unprecedented step for a Japanese manufacturer to make. For the 1976 season, Whitlock supplied a completely redesigned frame that was both lighter and stronger to form the basis of the Mk. II model all helping to mark the Beamish Suzuki as one of the most successful trials machines of its day. Recently tested by a semi-professional rider from the Perkins Trials Stunt Team, this Beamish special was found to run well and perform within acceptable parameters. It benefits from recently replaced off-road tyres and has, as you would expect, a sump guard. Priced to sell, this classic 1970s example presents in reasonable condition throughout.

Registration : V889DDY Chassis Number : ZDCPD10A0XF150906 Engine Number : PD06E4100693 Odometer reading : 2,800 miles Estimate : £2,500 - £4,500 In commemoration of Honda's 50th year of motorcycle production, four European market models were specially selected as unique representatives of the major classes of motorcycling that Honda has been involved in over the years. The XL600V Transalp ably represents the uniquely focused machines that Honda has designed, as much to venture off the beaten path as to travel in comfort along the highways and byways of the urban jungle. When Honda's 'Rally Touring' Transalp appeared on the scene back in 1987, the road and trail-going V-twin breathed fresh life into the middleweight class. Based in part on the Paris-Dakar racers, the Transalp looked like a rugged desert stormer but it offered superbly comfortable ergonomics and the ability to cruise motorways with remarkable ease. The 50th Anniversary Edition of the Transalp harkened back to its original silvery blue colour, to provide a nostalgic 'retro' look for older customers who remember its astonishing debut, while at the same time provided a fresh 'new' look to appeal to younger riders for whom the Transalp is an old standby.  This rare Honda Transalp XL600V anniversary model is one of the last of the desirable 600cc twin disc models. Having covered just 2,800 miles from new, the Transalp is completely original and unmolested, including its anniversary key. This XL600V is finished in Winter Lake Blue Metallic, the 50th Anniversary Edition colour variation, with new stripes and graphics and is supplied with the commemorative emblem, a complete, full Givi luggage kit, original handbook and service book, a V5 registration document and an MoT test certificate which expires in 2016. An opportunity to purchase a rare, limited edition Honda.

Los 306

Registration : N/A Chassis Number : MK27 Engine Number : B44B 175 Estimate : £2,500 - £3,500 Eric Cheney was acknowledged as one of the top motocross riders of the 1950s, along with his travelling companion , Les Archer, who went on to become European Motocross Champion in 1956. In 1961, Cheney's riding career came to an end when he contracted a serious blood infection and after a period of acute illness, he was never able to recover his former speed. He decided to retire and concentrated on bike preparation, achieving success by installing BSA's heavy and dated Gold Star motor into a lightweight frame of his own design for Jerry Scott to ride. Although Cheney had no formal training as a motorcycle engineer, he became known as one of the finest frame makers of his generation, working entirely from intuition. Cheney had a love-hate relationship with BSA- the world's largest motorcycle manufacturer at that time and often received covert help from the factory. In turn, the BSA competition shop gained valuable tuning and development information from him; but Cheney would never work officially for BSA. The relationship might have been much closer, but Cheney cared nothing for the status or security which a big factory environment could have provided This early Cheney-BSA, frame number 27, has been in single family ownership from new - the vendor's father purchasing the bike from Cheney in 1965. It features a nickel plated, oil containing frame and BSA's new for 1964 unit construction Victor engine, which in this instance, has been bored out to 475cc from the standard 441cc. According to the vendor, this was done by Cheney himself when the bike was first built. Last raced in 1985, the Cheney-BSA will require a thorough overhaul before being used again in anger, but nonetheless represents an exciting opportunity to purchase a genuine motocross bike of the highest pedigree which will be competitive in pre 1965 motocross events.

Registration : 904 YUK Chassis Number : 7391/4C Engine Number : 8975/C Estimate : £2,000 - £3,000 Douglas, from Kingswood, Bristol, are known for their horizontally opposed twin cylinder engined bikes and as manufacturers of speedway and trials machines. In the 1920s Douglas built the first disc brakes and had a Royal Warrant for the supply of motorcycles to the Princes, Albert and Henry. Motorcycle production continued into World War II and afterwards produced the 350cc flat twin models. The first of these models designated the T35 was one of the first production motorcycles to be fitted with rear swinging arm. Douglas had success in trials events with 12 entered in both the junior and senior heats and another three in the Sidecar race during the 1923 TT. These entries gave Douglas their first senior Isle of Man TT victories. Other victories followed, marking Douglas as a serious competitor. Originally built in 1950, this motorcycle was first registered however in 2012. 1994 saw its acquisition by the vendor and the start of its rebuild. Starting with a chassis, its component parts were slowly and meticulously acquired over a number of years. These are rare bikes and trips as far as Scotland were not unusual for several key components. The competition engine and competition gearbox are fully rebuilt. Bearing in mind that examples of Douglas trials bikes are thought to number in single figures, this example, complete now with Douglas Motorcycle Club accreditation, a UK registration document and a full 12-month MoT test certificate, represents a bit of a find.

Registration : WAS 993 Chassis Number : 221542 Engine Number : 227067 Odometer reading : 3,588 miles Estimate : £2,500 - £4,000 The well established 125cc Lambretta LD 125 was joined by a 150cc bigger brother in October 1954. New features included the chrome silencer, often known as the 'coffee pot', damped front suspension to aid rider comfort and a twin 'push and pull' cable operated gear change, in place of the single Teleflex cable of the 125. Top speed was quoted as 55mph yet manufacturer, Innocenti, still claimed fuel consumption to be 140mpg, identical to that of the 125. The LD 150 was very popular and outsold its smaller brother. The so -called Mk. II LD 150 (there was no Mk. 1, as the 150 only appeared when the LD 125 was in Mk. II form) featured an inside leg shield toolbox which also housed the speedometer and the now very are option of one other additional gauge, usually a clock. Colour choices were green, grey, beige and red. There was also an electric start version, called the LDA 150. The Mk. III version launched in January 1957 featured an epicyclical kick starter and the speedometer was now mounted in a purpose built housing which also included the horn and mounted on top of the handle bars. The rear of the scooter gained a more streamlined look, with a cast rear light unit bolted onto it and the toolbox door now behind the rear seat. A new air taken to the rear of the frame through a rubber hose helped reduce induction noise, as well as allowing the engine to rev more freely. Colour choice was now green, grey, beige, off-white or blue with contrasting side panels in blue, maroon, red or green. In the UK the Lambretta concessionaires produced a variant called the Riviera. This model came as standard with a whole host of extras, namely front windshield, rear carrier with spare wheel, heel plates and extension boards. It was thought this model was produced to help make way for the incoming Li series and if true, the marketing strategy, although successful at the time, had the unintended consequence of the Lambretta concessionaries having no scooters left to sell whilst waiting for the new model. With no Lambrettas forthcoming from Italy, French built LDs were imported as a stop gap to help fulfill outstanding orders. The 1957 LD 150 offered today has been UK registered from new. The vendor purchased it approximately thirty years ago as non-runner and without any paperwork. It has been renovated both mechanically and cosmetically over a number of years to achieve what the vendor describes as the current very good, usable condition. We are informed that it goes extremely well, being in the vendor's opinion one of the best LDs he has ridden. This Lambretta is an older restoration with a pleasant patina and comes with V5 registration document, an old MoT test certificate, various bills , an original toolkit and three Lambretta handbooks. Interested parties should note the registration plate is an age related number since, as mentioned above, all paperwork was lost following a very lengthy period off the road, prior to the vendor's ownership. The LD 150 is regarded as the most desirable and usable of the shaft driven Lambrettas. This highly collectable example is offered at a most attractive estimate.

Registration : JGJ 571N Chassis Number : 101056 Engine Number : 101056 Estimate : £1,750 - £2,500 A revolution in the trials world when it first appeared in late 1973, the Yamaha TY250 had, for some months before, been developed by the recruited champion Mick Andrew. In conjunction with Andrews, Yamaha's aim was to produce and promote a winning bike capable of earning a market share reserved exclusively at that time for Spanish marques. By 1973, the TY250 had already won two of the competitions in the European championships so the marketing strategy appears to have been successful. The ideology of the TY250 was to bring a new dimension into the world of the motorbike; that of the family motorbike which could also win competitions. This TY250 is presented in its original yellow tank colours and believed to have been fully restored to a very original specification in 2011/2012. Offered with a V5 registration document, this example would need a day time MoT if the purchaser required it to be used on the roads, but such a well cared for and early example is likely to see less of the road and more of the dirt.
