A George IV silver snuff box, by Alexander Strachan, London 1829, rounded rectangular form, the hinged cover with a raised scene of a tavern interior with six revellers, engine-turned sides and base, the interior inscribed 'To John Reeve from W.C.Evans and a few friends on his departure for America, London Sept 11th, 1835', length 7.8cm, approx. weight 5oz. A French ormolu figural mantel clock: the eight-day duration movement striking the hours and half-hours on a bell with an outside countwheel and silk suspension, the backplate stamped with the serial number 56, the round ormolu dial having black Roman hour numerals, blued steel moon hands and an engraved engine-turned centre, the ormolu case having a bust of Raphael surmounting a plinth with artists materials leaning against one side and a classical female figure standing to the other with a wreath to anoint the bust, with a further plinth having applied classical mounts and standing on matching feet, height 35cm.
Good Quality Victorian Live Steam Stationary Engine, with brass plaque engraved H.O. Smith 1883, 96cm in overall lengthCondition report: I would estimate the engine to weigh in the region of 20 - 30kg. The wheel moves, as do the pistons and other moving parts when the wheel is turned. The engine appears to be in good original order, although it is dirty and would benefit from some sympathetic cleaning and possibly some light restoration / recommissioning.

Both have very clear marks, no dents but some light surface scratching all over. Other similar napkin ring with R initial- hallmarked Birmingham 1905. Very clear marks, some heavier scratches to the surface but otherwise good. Oval napkin ring with engine turned decoration and engraved monogram- Hallmarked Sheffield, the date letter has been marked through and difficult to read. The napkin ring itself is slightly bent and misshapen with some light surface scratching all over.Round napkin ring with engrine turned decoration and engraved monogram- Hallmarked Birmingham 1924. Clear marks, some light surface scratching otherwise good. Pinched square shaped napkin ring engraved Mary- hallmarked Sheffield 1919. Makers mark is rubbed but the other markings are clear. Some obvious surface scratches and tiny dents throughout.
A group of four silver / silver plated fronted photo frames to include an edwardian engine turned example with a round frame (hallmarked Chester 1908), a large EPNS rectangular framed engraved with a date to the front, a rectangular silver hallmarked example (hallmarks rubbed, Chester assay mark visible) and a silver white metal frame with fleur de lys decoration to the corners. Being one of only 3'443 2000 Spiders delivered, this example was first registered in January 1959. About 20 years ago the Touring coachwork was restored. Engine, gearbox and differential received an overhaul between 2004 and 2010. This terrific cabriolet is in very good condition and will certainly be admired wherever it goes. The most recent Veteran MOT dates from June 2018. Not available in auction hall, item will be shipped from Switzerland. Please contact us for viewing options.
