A rare Bowman Hobbies Steamboat streamlined racer ‘Seahawk’. Of wooden construction with ‘Seahawk’ to front sides of hull, tinplate ventilated front cowling sitting in front of a single cylinder Bowman steam engine within an open cockpit. To the rear of the engine is a wooden removable cover with the Bowman company logo printed to top. The hull and cowling are all painted in cream. GC. The paint has flaked to the tinplate cowling. Minor wear overall. Contained in its original wooden box. See illustration.
A rare Carrette overtype stationary steam plant. A fine example of this seldom seen engine. The boiler measures 23.5cm with a 9cm diameter. Water gauge and tap to burner end, slide out 4 wick burner tray with authentic riveted ‘door’ to outside. Single piston, whistle, safety valve, cam, rods, flywheel, governor and removable chimney fitted with spark arrester all mounted to top of boiler. Fitted to a tinplate frame and supporting pillar, both fixed to a cast metal base 26x13cm, painted in maroon with red line detailing and light olive green centre panel. VGC for age. Little evidence of use. Age patina overall. See illustration.
A small basic Victorian single cylinder horizontal steam engine. Brass cylinder 3.7cm, 3cm stroke, rod 6.5cm, 4 spoked flywheel 7cm. Fitted to a brass plinth, all fixed to a wooden base 18.5x10.5cm. QGC for age Some wear overall. Together with a small assortment of brass, copper and wooden parts to go towards producing a Trevithick marine steam engine. Horizontal engine illustrated.
A twin cylinder 10cc four stroke engine, ‘The Seagull’. By E.T. Westbury. Overall length 14cm in unpainted alloy with steel parts. Separate cylinders each fitted with spark plugs to top and exhausts to top and bottom, throttle lever, fitted with a heavy steel flywheel 6.5cm. Mounted on a simple alloy open frame. Complete with detailed schematic drawings and related paperwork. VGC See illustration.
A modern interpretation of an early 20thc ‘flame licker’ engine. A small horizontal single cylinder engine, overall length 15cm, with green painted steel frame, fitted with bellows style heat chamber to flame end of cylinder. Twin drilled 5.5cm diameter steel flywheels painted in red to centres. Mounted on a rectangular wooden plinth 18x7.5cm. Mint. Looks to be unused. See illustration.

A rare and unusual model of a hot air engine by A.E. Robinson of Bridgewater Street Manchester. The steel, brass and alloy model has a height to the top of the single flywheel of 18.5cm. The steel flywheel itself is 6 spoked and weighted and has a diameter of 11.5cm. The horizontal Single cylinder has a 4cm bore, quite large for such a small model. The workings are mounted above a cylindrical base with a brass ‘hot cap’ under, plus 3 integral feet that can be bolted down for stability when running. The whole is painted in maroon with some brass and steel edges/parts left bare. Affixed to the base is a brass stamped out label ‘size B4, Engine No.72’ with the makers name and Manchester address. A fine 1:12 scale model of a James Coombes vertical single cylinder ‘Table Engine’. This working example is based on a design that was used in the Coalpitheath Colliery near Bristol up until the colliery closed in 1950. A powerful looking single cylinder machine of steel and brass construction, mounted to a substantial steel base (10 x 9.5cm) with table legs style supports connected to a ‘table top’ to support the mechanicals. The model has an overall height of 36cm to top of cylinder frame. Fitted with a large 6 spoked 18cm flywheel with power take off hub to outer edge of cam. Framework and centre to flywheel painted in maroon. Bolted to a hardboard rectangular ‘brick’ style base 38 x 18.5cm. VGC. Together with drawings. See illustration.
A substantial scale model of a single cylinder horizontal hot air engine. Steel and alloy cylinder and frame with machined parts in steel and brass. Overall length 36cm. Air cooled cylinder via 6 flutes, substantial weighted single billet machined flywheel 15.5cm, brass oil container to top of cylinder, bore 4cm, with approximately a 7cm stroke. Majority painted in dark green with outer of flywheel, chimney, etc unpainted. VGC See illustration.
A small horizontal single cylinder ‘Mill’ style steam engine. A miniature example of an engine as used in factories in the north of England during the mid 19thC. Measuring 20cm with a 10cm 6 spoked brass fly wheel in very dark green and a 3 aperture 7.5cm power take-off wheel. Mounted on a rectangular wooden plinth, 21x7cm. QGC- some age patina and light rusting. Flywheel loose. See illustration.
A scale model of a vertical single cylinder stationary steam engine as made by Otto Deutz. This model represents the type D2 as produced from 1895. It is designed to run at 150rpm on ‘clean propane’. Painted in maroon, with brass fittings including 4 glazed oil lubrication reservoirs. The engine is fitted with a 6 spoke 20cm flywheel and has a bore diameter of 2.5cm, separate chimney in matt black, 21cm. The engine has an overall height of 26cm to the top of the flywheel. Complete and ready to run. Mounted on a wooden plinth 20x31cm. VGC Complete with paperwork and CD. See illustration.
A superb ¼ size model of a Wyvern single cylinder horizontal gas engine. Designed by Edgar Westbury, to be a model of a typical small power internal combustion engine of the early 20thc. ½ or 1 horse power engines of this design often powered workshops of model engineers before the coming of mains electricity. This example is fitted with a dual fuel carburettor for running on petrol or gas. A powerful looking engine with twin 6 spoked 16.5cm red painted flywheels, 3cm bore, 3 brass oil reservoirs, dark green main body with brass and steel fittings. Mounted on a black painted heavy cast support, with separate cylindrical container and chimney. All mounted on a wooden display plinth. 45x28cm. VGC See illustration.
A vertical single cylinder Ryder-Ericsson Engineering Co hot air engine. Overall height to top of stroke 47.5cm with a cylinder diameter 5.5cm, Beam style connecting rod 20.5cm, 6 spoked flywheel 22cm, with brass taps and valves. Mounted on a rectangular table top style base. Painted overall in green. Firebox with hinged door in matt black. Clear plastic hoses to rectangular water expansion tank. The whole is mounted to a red oxide tile style base 45.5X23cm. VGC light cleaning required. See illustration.
‘The Hook Norton Brewery Pumping Set’. Comprising 3 individual steam power plants, fed by a large vertical cylindrical boiler 32cm. Fitted with pressure gauge with separate doors to fire box and grate, with safety valve to top. Also fitted with connecting hoses with taps to two of the three power units. Together with a small Stuart No.8 horizontal single cylinder engine, fitted with a 9cm 6 spoked fly wheel. Also A small single cylinder ‘table leg’ style pump engine with a 5.5cm flywheel and wooden lagged cylinder. Plus a substantial vertical twin cylinder pumping engine fitted with large cog wheel, 12cm, within lattice safety frame. 6 spoked flywheel 8cm, twin pistons to cam. All mounted on a substantial A frame support. Height to top of cog wheel 25cm. All mounted on a steel chequer plate base 51x38.5cm. Also to base is a 4 wheeled push along coal wagon on rails. GC one part of the hose from the boiler to No.8 is damaged and requires repair. Complete with paperwork and Brewery information booklet. See illustration.
A live steam horizontal engine by the R.L.E. Alyn Foundry Wrexham. The R.L.E. is a 1 1/4" Bore 2" Stroke hit & miss governed water hopper cooled O/C engine. It is designed run on both gas and petrol. This example has been finished in maroon with some parts left unpainted. Fitted with two large 6 spoked wheels, 16cm with water tank and fuel tank. with brass glazed oil reservoir to top of cylinder. Overall length approx 40cm. Height to top of flywheels 18cm. Mounted on two heavy wooden skids each 45.5cm in length. VGC minor cleaning required. Complete with paperwork. See illustration.
An impressive model live steam beam pumping engine as used at Crofton in Wiltshire. A 1:20 working scale model. 68cm high, to top of red painted beam, beam measures 36cm. Mounted within a wooden framework the engine is fully fitted with valve operating gear, lower and upper valve chests, parallel motion and plug rods, condenser and air pump, etc. Cylinder height 17.5cm with a diameter of 7cm. VGC Complete with drawings. See illustration. Note: The original engine was built by Harvey & Co of Hayle Cornwall in 1846. Rebuilt with its present 42" bore cylinder in 1904. Also this engine pumped water to the summit of the Kennet & Avon Canal until 1958.
A superb 1/8th scale model by Stuart Turner of a H.A. Taylor major beam engine as used by a factory based in Bermondsey London in the 1860’s. This large powerful non-condensing heavy duty model has a beam of 38cm, tapered thick central beam support column, 6cm at base to 5.5cm at top, 6 spoked flywheel 35cm, with smaller 15cm power take off wheel. Cylinder 12.5cm with a 10cm stroke. Fitted with Safety valve, pressure valve, pump, speed governor, all of steel and brass construction, is painted in maroon overall. Fixed to a baseplate 50.5x15cm. Atop a brick style raised plinth 60.5 x20x13cm. VGC light cleaning required. Complete with drawings and paperwork. Note: Similar powerful engines of this style were used by water authorities throughout the UK during the second part of the 19th.C See illustration/front cover.

A 1960’s MoBo Toys/Tri-ang child’s pedal car in the style of a period F.1 Ferrari. Of plastic monocoque construction with metal steering and connecting rods to pedals, black plastic steering wheel, moulded black pvc seat, dummy V8 engine with trumpets and twin exhausts. Finished in red with yellow nose, yellow wheels with black tyres. RN7. GC for age, some marking from use, slightly faded to top surface.

A scarce Dinky AC Aceca Coupe Early c1958 version of model 167, in chestnut brown and cream with ridged hub wheels in slightly darker cream, and black tyres. An interesting WWI Zeppelin relic, comprising an aluminium alloy engine crankcase webb and upper half of a main bearing, with contemporary brass plaque attached engraved “Great European War 1914-1919/ Piece of German Zeppelin/ Brought down by/ Lieut Leefe Robinson/ at Cuffley, Herts, Sunday Sept 3rd 1916”, together with 2 contemporary souvenir postcards, one showing Lieut Leefe Robinson, the other being an artists impression of the Zeppelin coming down in flames.
