A continental silver oval box, with embossed decoration, the cover depicting classical warriors fighting English, import marked for Sheffield 1896; an engine-turned silver oval jewel box, on four feet, initialled “M”; a Victorian engraved scent bottle, lacking glass liner; a silver churn pepper; and a child’s silver nursery rhyme spoon, the bottle of 6.3cm high, 5.25oz. weighable silver. A late Victorian silver presentation shield, engraved with a view of an architectural landscape, with the” old style” industrial mill and its coal fired boiler and smoking stack, next to the “new style” smokeless fuel- powered engine house with its clean air, inscribed “Presented to H. Fletcher Esq. C. G by the Rochdale Smoke Crusade Party in a recognition of his efforts to suppress the smoke nuisance July 18th 1893, Elijah Fenton and Geo. Harrison Hon. Secys” by Constantine and Floyd Ltd (of Caroline Street Birmingham), C.1893 (maker’s mark and “SILVER” only, in a lined and fitted case (with trade label of John Taylor, 36 Drake Street, Rochdale), 29cm long overall, 17oz.

An early 20th Century working model of a Single-Funnel Steam Yacht, commercially-made or made to commission to a high standard, with tinplate hull and superstructure, wooden deck overlaid on tinplate with ink-inscribed decking, incorporating typical detailed deck fittings as found on dockyard models, but hull weighted and fitted, as workin model, for mechanism or steam engine, although never fitted, so without propeller and shaft, painted in cream with red hull below Plimsoll line, red area possibly partly-overpainted, with two loose masts, 730mm long, G, decks dusty, discoloured, some warping, some small parts detached and missing, most window glazing loose, on plain wooden plinth; this type of steam yacht was popular in around 1900 with the wealthy, similar vessels including Sir Thomas Lipton's 'Erin', Roy Rainey's 'Cassandra' and 'Lorna', the latter two built by Scott's of GreenockCondition Report - Please see additional image(s).
