1917 Austin 20 Tourer Transmission: manualMileage:7000Driven by Edgar Wren as a promotional car to secure new orders of the 20hp model, the first prototype Austin Twenty began to take shape in the chassis-erecting shop at Longbridge during 1917 and an abridged specification was published in that September’s issue of The Austin Advocate magazine. Like the Hudson Super Six, the newcomer featured a substantial ladder frame chassis equipped with all round semi-elliptic leaf-sprung suspension, rear wheel brakes, an engine of monobloc construction with in-unit, centre change gearbox and a sheet metal radiator cowl. Two prototype Austin Twenties were readied for 1918, a Landaulette and a Tourer. Road registered as `OB 6912', the latter sported a commodious four-door, five-seater body with a prominent hood well and internal storage for two spare wheels. With dreams of producing 25,000 cars a year, Herbert Austin despatched works test driver Edgar Wren on a nationwide trip aboard `OB 6912' to create interest. With a projected price of just £495 for the Tourer, and thanks also to the efforts of sales organiser Alfred Dupuis who travelled the Commonwealth and was reliant merely on photos and specification sheets, Austin had attracted an eye watering £6,000,000 worth of orders by July 1919. Unfortunately, the company could not fulfil them. The government tax on excess war profits meant that Herbert Austin could not afford to fully equip his expanded factories, there was also a severe shortage of skilled labour after World War One.Without the hoped-for economies of scale, Austin found itself losing money on every Twenty sold and thus had to introduce a `temporary surcharge’ of £100 per car in October 1919. Things went from bad to worse with the global economic slump of 1920-1921 and by December that year Austin was in receivership. The company famously bounced back with the Twelve and Seven models and the Twenty remained in production until December 1929 by which time some 15,287 had been made. This handsome Austin 20 Tourer is a prototype as mentioned above and few cars can have such an interesting history as this one. This extraordinary car was treated to an extensive `ground up’ restoration during the 2000’s with replacement parts being sourced or made as necessary. The bodywork is in great order and the black leather interior has a nice patina. This is a car that perhaps was ahead of its time taking into account the centre gear change and handbrake lever. Other manufacturers took decades to catch on and follow suit. The artillery wheels are in good order and we are advised she runs smoothly and drives well. This 104 year old vehicle is a very rare piece of British motoring history.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 1997 Porsche 911 / 993 Carrera 2 S Transmission: automaticMileage:62965The Porsche 993 is the company's internal name for the version of the Porsche 911 model manufactured and sold between late 1993 and early 1998. Its discontinuation in 1998 marked the end of air-cooled Porsches. Like previous generations of the Porsche 911, there were several variants of the car manufactured, varying in body style, drive trains, and included equipment. The Carrera 4 S of 1996 and later 1997 Carrera S shared the Turbo model's bodyshell but housed the naturally aspirated Carrera engine in the rear. The 4S came with four-wheel drive and retained the Turbo model's larger brake discs with the characteristic red calipers. It could be described as a ‘Turbo without the turbochargers and rear wing’, whereas the S was in all aspects a standard Carrera underneath (the wider rear wings were compensated with 31mm wheel spacers. Both S models had slightly lowered suspension compared to standard Carrera models.Originally supplied by Lancaster Bow and registered on 1st January 1997, this Porsche has been owned by the vendor since 3rd December 2007. The car has been lovingly cared for by him and all the previous owners with 18 stamps in the service book, the last being carried out on 4th November 2020 at 62,796 miles. The Arena Red coachwork is in good condition as is the Marble Grey interior. As can be expected for such a low mileage example, the entire external bodywork emits a deep glossy shine overall with all glass and lenses remaining clear and free from any cracks or crazing. The seats, door cards, switches, door cappings, dashboard and headlining are totally unmarked. Carpets and mats also remain in fine order. The engine started immediately when requested and ran smoothly, we are advised she drives with no known faults. Supplied with a V5C registration document together with an MoT test certificate valid until 18th October 2021 and the original service books. Having been used sparingly by the vendor, this 993 Carrera 2 S is arguably, one of the best ever Porsche 911’s produced, and even by today standards, certainly no slouch!Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. 1991 Alfa Romeo Spider S4 Transmission: manual Mileage:60900 The Spider designation for the open top sports cars originates from the word, speeder, and a two-person open horse carriage. The Alfa Romeo 105/115 Series Spider was produced from 1966 to 1993, remaining in production for almost three decades with only minor aesthetic and mechanical changes. Widely regarded as a design classic, this fourth series version of production came with further mechanical and cosmetic changes. Mechanical changes saw the introduction of the Bosch Motronic electronic fuel injection with an electric fan and cosmetically, losing its front under bumper spoiler and the rear boot spoiler picking up 164-style rear lights stretching across the width of the car together with colour coordinated plastic bumpers. This achingly pretty Alfa Romeo Spider Series 4 is finished in Rosso with tan interior and comes with a black hood. This low mileage example was dry-stored from the early 2000's and as a result has none of the usual problems associated with the marque. Since acquiring the car, the present owner has set about an extensive program of improvements including re-trimming the interior, gearbox overhaul including synchro replacement, new clutch, overhaul of the suspension and braking system, engine mounts replaced and full engine service resulting in a car that sounds and drives as sweet as it looks. A great Italian classic which are always fun on country roads and good for long tours also. Interested parties should note that a small problem with the flywheel has occurred which will be rectified by the vendor at no cost to the buyer. Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 1989 Jaguar XJS Convertible Transmission: automaticMileage:51617The Jaguar XJS was a luxury grand tourer produced from 1975 through to 1996 and replaced the E-Type. Although it never had quite the same sporting image, the XJS was actually more aerodynamic with the last one being produced on 4th April 1996; at that stage 115,413 had been manufactured during a 21 year production life. Power came from the Jaguar V12 petrol engine with a choice of a manual or automatic transmission but the manual gearbox was soon dropped. V12 engine cars were unusual at the time with notable exceptions coming from Italian luxury sports car makers Lamborghini and Ferrari. The specifications of the XJS compared well with both Italian cars; it was able to accelerate to 60mph in 7.6 seconds and had a top speed of 143mph.This left hand drive example was recently imported from the USA and is presented in metallic blue with great leather interior and also comes with a new hood. The present owner has carried out an extensive service on the car since its arrival in the UK and it comes with $14,000 worth recent invoices from work carried out in the US. This Jaguar is powered by the mighty 5.3 litre V12 which is mated to an automatic gearbox and as ever with these luxurious convertibles, they drive so well and are extremely comfortable on long journeys. The car comes with its original US Title document and a NOVA letter from the DVLA – a V5 logbook book will have to be applied for.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. 1968 Lotus Elan +2 Transmission: manualMileage:75101Launched by Lotus in 1962, the two-seater Elan which had been a classic GT style 2+2 model was developed using a stretched chassis and widened track to accommodate two small rear seats. Improvements to the interior and the addition of front fog lights, in 1969, characterised the new Elan +2S but it wasn't until the much-awaited big valve head engines arrived early in 1971 that the Elan +2 really came of age thanks to the new 126bhp output. Known as the Elan Sprint, the same engine was transplanted into the +2S to create the Elan +2S 130. This version was capable of 125mph and 0-60 in just 7.4 seconds. It wasn't just the rapid performance that boosted Lotus's image but the fact that this model was the first that Lotus chose not to supply in kit form. This example is finished in red with a black leather interior, it was restored in 2000 and has most recently been refreshed and shows a mere 75,101 miles on the odometer. Fitted with a replacement Lotus galvanised chassis and Rotoflex driveshaft couplings, this Elan is presented very well indeed. The paintwork is in good order and the interior is well with both seats, door cards and dashboard all in fine fettle. Offered in SE specification including Weber carburettors, the 1558cc twin cam engine is mated to a stainless-steel exhaust and is reported to be in good driving condition having been treated to new plugs, leads, coil and servicing less than 50 miles ago. Ready to be enjoyed by a new custodian, this Elan comes complete with a history file detailing previous maintenance work, sundry invoices, previous MoT test certificates and the current UK V5 registration document and certainly represents one of the best examples on the market today.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. 1974 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Roadster Transmission: automaticMileage:47764 The Chevrolet Corvette is instantly recognisable by the marque aficionado and non-aficionado alike. The first model, a convertible, was designed by Harley Earl and introduced at the GM Motorama in 1953 as a concept show car. Originally built in Flint, Michigan and St. Louis, Missouri, the Corvette, today, is manufactured in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The third generation Corvette, the C3, was designed along the lines of the Mako Shark II concept car and was introduced for the 1968 model year continuing in production until 1982. Engines and chassis components were mostly carried over from the C2 but the body and interior were all new. When this Corvette arrived in Britain from Apopka, Florida in 2012 its new owner had it repainted, at a cost of £9,000, in its original Mille Miglia Red. The panel fit is good and the hood presents well and folds smoothly and neatly away below the rear deck. A hardtop is also included in the sale. The cabin appears original and its general condition is good. Even the factory radio works. After a few pumps of the throttle the V8 engine roared into life and idles nicely. We are informed that this roadster is a joy to drive and that the three speed automatic gearbox changes well and suits the motors torquey nature. Offered to auction with a V5C registration document and various bills and receipts for service work, this late C3 convertible is a real head turner and ideal for the summer.  Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. 1998 BMW 840Ci Transmission: manualMileage:38469When the Klaus Kapitza designed 8 Series was launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1989, it felt like a glimpse into the future with its angular styling. An upmarket range with superior performance and price tag to match, the 8 Series was designed to be a standalone premium model although seen to be the successor to the 6 Series. The 8 Series was offered in 830i, 840Ci and 850i/Ci form and, when introduced in mid-1993, it was fitted with a 4 litre, V8 engine mated to either a five-speed automatic or a six-speed manual transmission. Producing a very healthy 282bhp, this version could achieve the 0-62mph sprint in an impressive 6.9 seconds; importantly with the naturally aspirated V8, acceleration was effortless and refined. Over $1 billion dollars are said to have been spent on the car's design with CAD design and wind tunnel technology. From mid-1995, production phased in the newer 4.4 litre M62B44 engine, which had better fuel economy and more torque, though power output remained unchanged.Originally supplied by the BMW main dealer in Hull, this very good 1998 BMW 840ci has only covered 38,500 miles from new and is believed to have belonged to a Member of Parliament and registered JIA 61. The car passed through a couple of members of his family until it was put into storage sometime in 2009 at approximately 37,800 miles, having always been serviced and maintained by BMW dealers. It was purchased by the current owner in 2019 who had seen the car parked in the garage for ten years and has since put it back on the road. This 840ci finished in silver with light grey leather interior has recently had a service and new MoT and is supplied with a UK V5C registration document, an MoT test certificate which expires in June 2022 and the complete handbook pack. BMW 8 Series are certainly becoming a more appreciated modern classic and this example with its low mileage will be quite sought after. What better way to enjoy driving than in this pillarless coupé.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 2004 Mercedes-Benz E320T V6 Estate Avantgarde Transmission: automaticMileage:20300The 2003 E-Class was larger than its predecessors while offering less interior space, particularly in the estate version, than the W210 it replaced. It offered petrol or diesel engines with a choice of rear or four-wheel drive. The redesigned 2003 model featured electrohydraulic braking system marketed as Sensotronic Brake Control (SBC), which was standard equipment in the E-Class. Options included multicontour front seats and dual control air suspension system marketed as Airmatic DC. The 2003 E-Class was offered in saloon and five-door estate car configuration in three trim lines; Classic, Elegance and Avantgarde. The transmission options were five or seven speed automatic or six-speed manual. V6, V8, inline four and supercharged inline four-cylinder engines were offered. This superb example is presented in silver coachwork with black interior trim. This Mercedes-Benz comes with air conditioning with climate control, cruise control, electric memory front seats, electric glass sunroof, CD changer and electric folding mirrors. Its meagre mileage from new is just 20,300 and its condition is totally commensurate with this, supplied with the book pack and the on-board service schedule up to date. 1999 Mercedes-Benz SL 320 Millennium Edition Transmission: automaticMileage:76856Following the resounding success of the R107, the R129 Mercedes-Benz SL had a rather tough act to follow, and it still had to carry on the tradition of a fast and reliable grand touring convertible. The advantage designers had with the R129 was technology. By the time the final car rolled off the production line in 1989, these earlier models had been in production for 18 years with very little change. Therefore the new SL featured many new and innovative ideas, such as controlled electronic damping, automatically expanding roll-over bar and a more modern multi-link rear axle. In addition to this was a fully operating electric hood, windows, door mirrors and seats, which made this model easy and comfortable to operate. The SL boasted a more powerful engine and the stopping power was aided by anti-locking braking for added reassurance. This stunning metallic silver Millennium Edition 320 R129 is complemented by full black leather and a panoramic hardtop which is very desirable for this marque. Within the full book pack there is a service booklet stamped comprehensively with the most recent with Mercedes-Benz specialists Hampshire Service Centre in Fleet at 76,848 miles in July this year. The car has had just six former keepers in 23 years and feels like a low mileage and low owner car. Also in the history file are invoice and service schedules from Mercedes-Benz and an MoT test certificate valid until March 2022. Heated electric seats and the original stereo name but a few extras these Millennium Editions were very well specified with. This car is a perfect for top down motoring this summer with the added bonus of being a potential appreciating modern classic, just look at the R107 prices rising exponentially.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 2004 Jaguar XKR Carbon Edition Transmission: automaticMileage:87016The XK8 is a grand tourer car that was launched in 1996 and was the first generation of a new XK series available in both coupé and convertible body styles and with the new 4.0 litre Jaguar AJ-V8 engine. The 1998 XKR was introduced with a supercharged version of the engine. Both the XK8 and XKR are electronically limited to a maximum of 155mph; the top speed of its predecessor, the XJS V12, being 158mph. A navigation system and self-levelling xenon headlamps came as standard with the XKR with Jaguar's adaptive cruise control as an optional feature available on both models. Both come with all leather interior, burr walnut trim and side airbags. Jeremy Clarkson, during a Top Gear test drive, likened the interior of the original XK8 to sitting inside Blenheim Palace. The Carbon Edition was offered by Jaguar in 2004 with only 100 cars produced. A split of 50 convertibles and 50 coupés were built, with a bonus for the lucky clientele of an invitation by Jaguar to a complimentary short break at Skibo Castle or Bovey Castle to celebrate their new purchase. This rare, desirable 2004 XKR Carbon Edition was supplied new to a very high specification. This Jaguar XKR has covered approximately 87,000 miles from new and this year has been completely gone through having all necessary repairs carried out. The car is supplied with a UK V5C registration document, an MoT test certificate which expires in February 2022 and handbook pack showing a full service history. 1974 BMW 2002 Convertible by Baur Transmission: manualMileage:86789The BMW 2002 series is important in the history of BMW for several reasons; not the least of which being that it brought the company out of near bankruptcy in the 1960’s and put BMW on the map in the United States. It was the ancestral grandfather to the BMW 3 Series and was produced from 1968 to 1976. German BMW importer Max Hoffman is credited with the car's creation. He had suggested to BMW's engineering director that a 2.0 litre engine should be installed into the small two-door 1602 to improve performance and emissions. The resulting 2002 (named after the new motor's displacement) was popular in its first year on sale. This BMW 2002 is one of only 354 examples manufactured in right hand drive format. Conversions on these outstanding vehicles were by coachbuilder Karosserie Baur in Stuttgart at a time when ‘wind in the hair’ motoring was rare. Baur retained a ‘T’ bar in the roof design helping dramatically to reduce any scuttle shake. This BMW has been owned and enjoyed by its car enthusiast vendor since 2001. This rare 2002 will require restoration but when done could provide plenty more miles of open top driving. Supplied to auction with a V5C registration document and various bills and receipts, this car is offered without reserve.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 1972 Triumph TR6 Transmission: manualMileage:58631The Triumph TR6 was manufactured for seven years from 1969 and by the time production came to an end in July 1976, it was the best-seller of the TR range. The bodywork closely resembled that of the previous model, the Triumph TR5, however the front and rear were squared off and all TR6s featured inline six-cylinder engines. For the US market, the engine was fitted with carburettors whilst, for other world markets including the UK, the TR6 was fitted with fuel injection. It featured a four-speed manual gearbox, independent rear suspension, rack and pinion steering, 15 wheels and tyres, pile carpet on the floors and boot, bucket seats and a full complement of instruments. In total 94,619 TR6s were built of which 86,249 were sold overseas and only 8,370 were sold in the UK.This pleasant right hand drive TR6 was manufactured in 1972 for the international market and was imported and registered in the UK in April 1991. Finished in blue with a black interior and with a wooden dashboard in good order, this popular model has benefitted from regular servicing and has recently had a new gearbox fitted. This Triumph is fitted with the desirable overdrive and we are told is a joy to drive. 1969 Jaguar XJ6 2.8 Transmission: automaticMileage:61240Launched in September 1968, the Jaguar XJ6 was the last model that Sir William Lyons had a, hands-on, input into the design. This new model was the result of several years of development and streamlined the extensive portfolio of models offered by Jaguar at the time. This new, reasonably priced car, managed to retain the principles of earlier Jaguars but offered a new level of driveability and safety. It created such a desire that second-hand models were achieving higher prices than new cars on dealership forecourts. These early models have outstanding ability and are considered by many enthusiasts as the purist form of Sir William Lyons’ design. This exceptional magazine featured early XJ6, was manufactured at Browns Lane on 8th December 1969 and was supplied initially to an engineering company based in Wolverhampton which is still trading today. An invoice for the sale of the car from 1970 for £2,468 is present in the history file. Finished in Jaguar Light Blue with dark blue Connolly leather interior, the car still retains all its early production features including chrome dials, straight exhaust pipe finishers, small rear lights, simple battery carrier with attached washer bottle, S1 wheel trims and original carpets. Servicing was initially conducted by the Jaguar factory service department but since 2000 it has been entrusted to Jaguar authorised retailers based in the Edinburgh area, or most recently by ex-Jaguar Classic technicians in Coventry, who carried out a major service and recommissioning work in 2020. In addition, the original engine was completely rebuilt by the respected specialist VSE in Wales, with only 11,000 or so miles covered since. The coachwork was restored at considerable expense by Classic Restorations in Scotland, renowned for their outstanding work on Rolls-Royce and Bentley vehicles. 1995 Mercedes-Benz E320 Sportline Cabriolet Transmission: manualMileage:84785Mercedes-Benz expanded the well regarded W124 E-Class range to include a stylish coupé version launched at the Geneva Motor Show in 1987, featuring a lower roofline and pillarless side treatment in the best Stuttgart coupé tradition. Built on a slightly reduced wheelbase, the interior was redesigned to accommodate four adults with individual rear seats and unique touches including the automatic arm that offered front seat passengers their seat belts and set the coupés apart from their four-door cousins. With open top cars making a comeback in the latter part of the 1980s, Mercedes-Benz engineers set about adding a cabriolet variant to the W124 line-up, extensively reinforcing the coupés bodyshell to make it more rigid, without compromising safety. In fact, there were over 1,000 modifications to the cabriolet’s body, including a system of protective head restraints, activated by a computer, in the event of a rollover. The hood was typically well finished, with heated rear glass and beautiful fitting, folding into the boot to completely disappear when stowed, while a wind deflector and power mechanism were two extra cost options. This lovely example of this sought after cabriolet model is presented in Blue/Black with a Mushroom leather interior. This Sportline Cabriolet comes with the extremely rare factory hardtop which was a very expensive option at the time and one which is rarely seen on the roads today. The car comes with electric windows, electrically operated hood and has a current MoT test certificate which expires in January 2022. The car is in wonderful condition throughout belying its age. A true retro Mercedes-Benz which is revered as one of the greatest family sports coupés and powered by the smooth six-cylinder, three litre engine, it is effortless to drive.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. 2007 Smart Fortwo Convertible Brabus Red Edition Transmission: manualMileage:112734The Smart design concept began at Mercedes-Benz in the early 70s and late 80s. After brief backing by Volkswagen, the first model was released by Daimler-Benz in October 1998. Designed on the base of the Fortwo Brabus, this limited-edition example can be distinguished by its bright Intense Red colour and is powered by a 75bhp, three-cylinder turbo charged engine, with a top speed of 150km/h, unlike the other Fortwo cars that were traditionally restricted to 135km/h. The passenger compartment has seats and door linings in Alcantara leather and red top stitching, the speedometer, clock and turbo pressure gauge have the same red surrounds and the dashboard is covered in black Alcantara. Other than that, the car shares the major elements of the Brabus versions, such as the twin exhaust, 16” Monoblock alloys and various accessories to assist the passengers such as air conditioning and paddle shift steering wheel. This Fortwo Brabus Red Edition convertible has had three former keepers from new and was acquired by the current vendor in 2016. Presented in very good condition throughout the Brabus is showing circa 112,732 Kilometers (70,049 miles) on the odometer and comes with a sizeable history file including various old MoT test certificates, the current V5 registration document and the original service booklet containing many service records from Mercedes-Benz main dealers. One of just 15 convertible examples produced, this example with modest mileage is a very rare car indeed. Offered without reserve and with a very good history we are sure this limited-edition example will bring much enjoyment to its new custodian.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 2002 Mercedes-Benz SLK 230 Transmission: manualMileage:46970At the start of the 1990s, after the introduction of their two-seat, grand-tourer R129 SL and the Mazda MX-5, Mercedes-Benz set out to create a new compact roadster, slotted below the SL. By late 1991, under Bruno Sacco, the first design sketches were drawn, with scale models being built in the first half of 1992. Massively successful in its first year, worldwide sales hit 55,000, over double the entire nine-year production of 190 SLs and between 1996 and 2004, over 311,000 SLKs were sold. The roof design consists of a folding steel hardtop with both halves linked by a mechanism which is locked securely when the roof is closed. At the touch of a button on the centre console, a hydraulic system controls the fully automatic folding process in which the boot lid is also integrated.Originally registered on 1st February 2002 this low mileage, manual transmission, SLK presents in very good order throughout described by the owner as in show condition. The low mileage of 46,970 is confirmed by a well stamped service book, the most recent service was carried out by Autoclass in Milton Keynes. The wheels have recently been refurbished and are fitted with a set of Michelin tyres. With an engine that starts on the button, this Mercedes-Benz is described as driving with no known faults. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate valid until 21st February 2022, this striking SLK 230 is offered for sale without reserve.Guide price £6,000-£8,000Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 1986 Mercedes-Benz 500SL Transmission: manualMileage:136313The Mercedes-Benz SL-Class has been manufactured since 1954. The designation SL derives from the German 'Sport Leicht' or 'Sport Light' and was first applied to the 300SL 'Gullwing,' named after the upward-opening doors. The term SL-Class refers to the marketing variations of the vehicle, including the numerous engine configurations spanning five design generations. The Mercedes-Benz R107 and C107 cars were produced from 1971 through to 1989, being the second longest single series ever produced by Mercedes-Benz after the G-Class. The R107 took the chassis components of the mid-size W114 model and mated them to the larger engines from the S-Class (W116) and has become a benchmark of quality throughout the years. This example is presented in blue metallic with beige leather interior and comes with its factory hardtop. It comes with its maintenance booklet, invoices for services and repairs from May 2020 and April 2021 and has a current MoT test certificate which expires in April 2022. Presented in one of the best colour combinations and priced reasonably, this popular and sought after model is still the one to have!Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 2004 Maserati 4200 Cambiocorsa Coupé Transmission: automaticMileage:80415The Maserati 4200 is an evolution from the previous model 3200 and also a reference to the increase in engine size from 3.2 to 4.2 litres. The Spyder was first unveiled to the public at the 2001 Frankfurt Motor Show with the Coupé's debut following shortly after at the 2002 Detroit Motor Show. Both cars were designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro of Italdesign and were a true four-seater capable of comfortably seating two adults in the back. The naturally aspirated V8 engine was based on a Ferrari unit producing 385hp at 7000rpm; the gearbox is a six-speed unit that was available either as a GT (manual) or CC (Cambiocorsa) using paddle shifters. The Cambiocorsa ('race change' in Italian) is an electro-hydraulic manual transmission that uses a Formula 1 type gearbox with hydraulic operation and electronic management operated by F1-style paddles behind the steering wheel. The gearbox is located at the back of the car with the rear differential giving equal weight distribution between the front and rear of the car and providing better road holding. This stunning example presents extremely well in gleaming black paintwork with a black leather interior. The look is enhanced with grey alloy wheels and red brake calipers. When requested the V8 engine roared into life and we are told the car is a pleasure to drive. The tremendous condition of the car is complemented by a good service history with the majority of the works being completed by either Maserati franchised garages or marque specialists. The most recent service was completed 1,100 miles ago and this Italian thoroughbred has also benefitted from a new clutch. Offered to auction with two sets of keys, a V5C registration document and an MoT test certificate valid until 25th November 2021, this extremely reasonably priced Maserati should generate much interest.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 1984 Nissan Silvia Transmission: automaticMileage:88296The ‘Silvia’ name is a variation of the word ‘sylvia’, which is a scientific genus term assigned to a class of birds, possibly a reference to the Bluebird which was in production at the time the Silvia was introduced. The S12 chassis in Europe was badged as a Silvia and available only in the hatchback configuration, few were equipped with a rally package that included a rally foot brace for the navigator, headlamp guards, headlamp dust cleaners, with the same 1.8 litre SOHC Turbo used in North America, and in some areas the 2.0 litre DOHC ‘FJ’ engine. These models equipped with the rally package were dubbed Rally Spec. This rare and iconic 80’s Nissan Silvia has been family owned from new, the car was purchased new by a gentleman who sadly passed away prior to delivery however his wife continued with the purchase and has owned the car ever since. Presented in very good black coachwork with its typically 80’s contrasting burnt orange trim in great condition, this automatic example is described as drives simply lovely. Still showing its supplying original dealer number plates and having covered a mere 88,000 miles it will be truly hard to find another in this condition with such low ownership. Supplied with a recent MoT test certificate, V5 registration document and similar manual example fetching mid-teens, this looks an enticing opportunity for a potential future investment.Guide Price £6,000 - £9,000Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 1990 Mercedes-Benz 560 SEL Transmission: automaticMileage:132449The Mercedes-Benz W126 model was the successor to the earlier W116 line and the second generation of the Mercedes-Benz flagship to officially bear the S-Class name meaning Sonderklasse or 'special class'. The model range also introduced many Mercedes-Benz safety innovations, including the first airbag (supplemental restraint systems), seatbelt pre-tensioners and traction control. Six years of development resulted in the W126 model being introduced at the International Motor Show in Frankfurt in September 1979, with design work on the coupé beginning immediately after. Compared to its predecessor, the new model had a sleeker, lower profile look with more aerodynamic qualities than previous models. All were immensely safe and capable machines that were designed to barrel along the fast lane of the German autobahns all day long without a murmur of protest from car or driver. The flagship Mercedes luxury saloon powered by a smooth eight-cylinder 300bhp engine which gave it a top speed of 150mph and achieving 60 in 7. 5 seconds.Supplied new by the diplomatic sales division of Mercedes-Benz in Piccadilly, London on 12th February 1990, this highly specified 560 long wheel base S- class is presented in metallic blue with full blue leather trim. The vendor has owned and enjoyed the car for over a decade and describes it as luxurious car with great suspension that irons out every bump on the road. This very well spec’d example has the desirable and comfortable electric rear seats. It has taken part in many at Mercedes enthusiast events over the last 5-6 years. Offered with the original stamped service booklet with 15 main dealer stamps from new and 25 stamps in all, the most recent was in 2019 with very few miles covered since. It is supplied with various MoT test certificates, invoices and receipts from previous maintenance and the original owner’s manual. With a strong increase in value, this car is a testament to a bygone era of real luxury Mercedes-Benz, equally at home chauffeuring diplomats as it would, charging across the continent!Guide Price £10,000 - £15,000Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 1983 BMW 635 CSi Transmission: manual Mileage: Karmann manufactured the early 6-Series BMW's from launch in 1976 before BMW took production in house. The most significant technological upgrade on the E24 range took place in 1982 whereafter all models were constructed upon the more advanced E28 chassis right through until production ceased in 1989. This 1989 635 CSi has the pure elegant lines associated with the earlier cars which accentuate the 'shark-nose' design in the absence of the front skirts and the other exterior evolutions which came with the later generations. At the same time, this model enjoys all of the benefits associated with construction on what was then the brand new E28 platform.Offered to Historics by a BMW Car Club member, this restoration project is the very rare manual 635 CSi with LSD (Limited Slip Differential) and we are informed was in good condition prior to the start of a restoration for what was to be finished as a show car for the marque. The car had been stripped and prepared for a full body restoration with the chassis acid dipped and most welding works completed. Currently finished in Etch primer with a huge selection of parts some of which have been refurbished ready for the restoration. Unfortunately, the restoration had to be abandoned due to loss of storage amongst other pressures that comes with life, but our vendor hopes that a new enthusiastic owner can continue where he left off. We are informed all parts are believed to be included and some £10,000 has been spent thus far and the parts alone are valued at £11,000. Offered without reserve, this could be a fabulous project or perfect donor car. With prices of 635 CSi BMW’s on the rise why not complete what could be one of the rarest and most desirable manual, LSD cars of the 80’s.Guide Price £5,000 - £8,000 Interested parties should note that the engine, gearbox and all ancillary parts will be required to be collected, post auction, by the winning bidder from nearby Woking. The car has moved storage facility a couple of times, so inevitably the odd parts may of gone missing, so while the vendor can’t guarantee all parts are included he can say that 95% of them are. The car has also has the same part more than once (trim pieces), some restored parts (not many) and most of the parts are as they were when they came off the car. When the vendor purchased the he could not fit all the parts in a Long-wheelbase van. Some are boxed while many are loose. He has offered to help the new custodian in any way he can, and there is a huge amount of parts. It fills up an entire stables.Parts by Type: -All body panelsWiring loomGlass (Vendor believes one rear side window has been broken and so is missing)Interior trim in three colours green / blue / blackCarpetsChrome trimSeats front sport disassembled (black)Hydraulics partsSubframes and suspension partsEngineManual Gearbox OverdriveLSD 3.07 ratioBumpersFront valance

2002 Volkswagen Golf GTi (20v turbo) Transmission: manualMileage:58121Launched in October 1997, the fourth generation Golf was elevated to ‘best-selling car in Europe’ by 2001. The absolute highlight was the 1.8litre petrol engine with twin overhead camshafts, five-valves-per-cylinder technology, turbocharger and intercooler. In conjunction with the six speed manual gearbox (fitted as standard to the rare 180bhp version), this engine delivered the exhilarating performance that the ‘hot-hatch’ generation had come to expect.Mr. Routley purchased this three door GTI new from Motorpoint for his wife (purchase invoice present) together with a Service Care Programme from a VW Dealership, where the car continued to be serviced until 2014. Paintwork is Black Magic Pearl with contrasting beige (heated front) leather Recaro style upholstery. The car has been diligently maintained and remains in excellent original, unmodified order throughout. The Montreal alloy wheels are immaculate and the original beige carpets, overmats and headlining appear pristine. The car drives tightly and performance is reported as superb. Timing belt kit & water pump was last changed at 52,506 miles, with less than 200 miles since the last major service and there will be a new MoT test certificate prior to the auction. The comprehensive history file backs up the service book and completes a very impressive package for this exciting and relatively scarce top-specification GTI.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 1966 Morris Oxford Series VI Transmission: manualMileage:60279The Morris Oxford was updated in October 1961 with a new 1.6 litre version of the B-Series engine, longer wheelbase and a new revised look. The Morris retained the Series V dash, while the design share Austin had an all-new fake woodgrain design. The Oxford VI remained in production until 1971 with 208,823 produced. The Oxford range was to have been replaced by the 1967 Morris 1800, but in the event, both were built until Oxford VI production ended in 1971 because, in terms both of pricing and of interior space, the 1800 fell into the market segment of a larger car. At the smaller end of the market the Oxford VI was replaced by the Morris Marina, which also succeeded the smaller Morris Minor.Sold new to Lady Pamela J Goodale on 10th October 1966 who owned the car until 2011 when it was sold to a Mr. Page of Esher, he sold the car to Mr. Heffer of Aldershot and then it passed to the current owner in 2018, a Mr. Woodhouse of Addlestone. The car is presented in very good all-round condition indeed and is offered in Burgundy coachwork with original trim, again in good order. Offered with a history file containing the original handbook including stamped original service book, three workshop manual’s, a copy of the pre-delivery inspection report and V5 registration documents showing the three previous keepers only. Within the history is even two Momo books with logged trips in the car, distances covered, and costs associated, a lovely touch on such a car. 1973 Mercedes-Benz 350SLC Transmission: Mileage:The R107 and C107 Mercedes-Benz SL variants have long been revered amongst classic car devotees, being built to exacting engineering standards and with a subtle air of sophistication. These cars were built from 1971 through to 1989, the second longest single series ever produced by Mercedes-Benz after the G-Class. The SL (R107) was a two-seat convertible with standard soft top, optional hardtop and optional folding seats for the rear bench. Its sibling, the SLC (C107) or ‘SL Coupé’ derivative, was a two-door hardtop coupé with normal rear seats.  It was launched at the Paris Motor Show and signalled a shift in management thinking at Stuttgart about what made a successful luxury coupé. Sporting a longer wheelbase and sufficient interior room for four, the SLC was a sleek two-door car that combined the seating advantages of a four-door saloon with the style of a sporty coupé.  Originally registered on 1st May 1973 this SLC is finished in light blue metallic and has a velour interior. We are advised the V8 engine starts and runs well. These cars are from the era when Mercedes-Benz were known for building the best quality cars in the motor industry. McCudden´, one page, 4to, France, 29th December 1917. The partially printed typed document is a typed letter report relating to Combats in the Air prepared by McCudden following his action in a S.E.5. Aircraft at Havrincourt, in the Pas-de Calais area, France, stating `Left aerodrome at 9a.m. and crossed the lines E of Gouzeaucourt at 9.45 at 14,000. Saw 3 E.A. two-seaters coming W. I dived on these followed by my patrol and drove an L.V.G. down from 13,500 to the ground, then E.A. made a pretence of landing in our lines, but put his engine on again and made N.E. at about 10 feet. I headed him W again, but he again turned E, so I fired another burst into him and then he got into a flat spin and crashed at sheet 57c. K 28. D. near Havrincourt at 9.55 a.m. Climbed and only found two embers of my patrol. I then approached 4 Albatros Scouts over Bois de Vancelles, who went down E. Several E.A. two-seaters patrolling E of the Canal at Vendhuille at  about 3000 feet, too low to engage. Returned 10.50.´ An excellent signed document relating directly to McCudden's 36th Aerial Victory (from a total of 57 confirmed Victories). Few file holes to the upper left corner and border not affecting the text or signature. VG

1961 Daimler MajesticRegistration number 365 HFJChassis number 99732Engine number 92445V5CMOT expires September 2021Black over grey with a leather interiorWalnut dash and door cappingsWith some old MOT's and a few billsOwners handbookLow ownership with father and son from about 1965From the owner:My Daimler Majestic 3.8 SaloonModel DF318 3794cc. First registered 01/09/1961 Black and grey.Straight six cylinder. Dunlop disc brakes and Borg-Warner automatic transmission. Possibly also power assisted steering as it?s very light. Original registration number 781 CXU Changed to 365 HFJ in about 1964. Vehicle identification number: 99732. Engine number: 92445 Historic Vehicle The car?s historyMy father bought it second hand in 1964 or 1965 (and, rather eccentrically, swapped the original registration number with that of his Morris 1000 Traveller). The car, first delivered on 1st September 1961, had originally been supplied by Hughes of Beaconsfield to a London businessman living in the town, who had bought it at his wife?s request. But she had then died so he sold the car with only 6,000 miles on the clock. Shortly after my father bought it he had to put in a new speedometer so the present reading of 60,558 miles is about 6,000 miles too low. I remember him driving me back to boarding school along the old A4 when I was about 17, and the car running more and more slowly until it finally stopped near Silbury Hill. Father had forgotten to top up the oil, but no important damage appeared to have been done. When I learned to drive in the late 1960s, he would very occasionally let me use it and I remember trying to impress various girlfriends with varying degrees of success. I went to my wedding in it, Labrador in the back, and it was in attendance at my parents? funerals and our children?s christenings. Between November 1980 and April 1981 I left the car with Fred Seaward of Buckland Newton Garage, Buckland Newton, Dorset. Fred thoroughly checked and repaired or renewed a number of mechanical and electrical parts, repaired or rebuilt some bodywork and doors, and welded front splash panels, sill plates, etc. He re-sprayed the car with four litres of black and five litres of silver paint. In July 1995, on the 50th anniversary of Labour?s 1945 election victory, Downing Street gave me permission to drive to Chequers, the prime minister?s country residence, and have an evening picnic in the grounds. Our party consisted of my wife?s mother ? Clement Attlee?s daughter ? my wife (Clem?s granddaughter) our two young sons and me. We drove in the Daimler. I was asked to send our and the car?s details ahead, but for Granny the trip was a surprise. When we arrived at security at the Chequers entrance gates, one of the police officers asked, ?Can you tell me why in 1964 your father changed this car?s registration number?? I couldn?t, but Chequers? security background- checking was impressive. As we were finishing our picnic, a minion appeared and asked if, we?d like to go up to the house for a drink with Mrs Major (John Major?s wife Norma). We did .She was charming, and delighted to show our two boys, among other things, the secret door in the library and Cromwell?s death mask. In July 2004 I had a (gentle) collision with a Land Rover in a lane near where we live. The damage required the removal and replacement (with second-hand parts) of the radiator grill surround and flutes, front bumper, o/s front over-rider and o/s headlamp and bowl and rim and fixings. The necessary work was completed and second-hand parts supplied by John Nash of the Daimler Enthusiasts Club, Christchurch, Dorset. (T: 01202 481251).
