Royalty - The Honeymoon of Charles and Diana fine collection of photographs taken during the honeymoon of Prince Charles and Diana Princess of Wales: Including approx 17 b&w postcard sized prints of the honeymoon, together with approx 35 b&w postcard sized prints showing an overseas tour by the Queen and Prince Philip, a photocopy of an autograph letter signed by Charles expressing thanks for a wedding present, and approx 10 colour 10x8 shots showing interiors of the Royal Yacht as well as shots of the Royal Yacht in the River Thames. The interior shots show one of the lounges, the Banqueting Suite as well as the engine room. Also included in the collection is an example of the uniform worn by ratings on the Royal Yacht - both the northern hemisphere uniform and the ‘whites’ for southern climbs. Uniform is in excellent condition. A most unusual and rare item of Royal memorabilia - particularly as the Royal Yacht is now de-commissioned.

*John Dixon (20th century), DAYTONA, 1933 Signed l.l, watercolour 62.5 x 38.5cm, unframed The Campbell Railton Bluebird was Donald Campbell's second land speed car and was a rebuild from his 1931 car. It was larger and heavier with a powerful Rolls Royce R V12 engine which replaced the old Napier Lion. A pair of silver Art Deco and marcasite set lorgnettes, suspended on a silver chain, the spring action lorgnettes possibly American, with a rectangular onyx plaque to a marcasite border, stepped top, with triangular onyx and rows of marcasite to a further onyx plaque. Engine turned back with feather edge hand engraved decoration CONDITION REPORT: Not marked. Dated from the style and type of construction, circa 1930. Scratches to the engine turned decoration on the back of the lorgnettes.
A collection of six Norwegian silver gilt guilloché enamel brooches, by David Anderson, to include two butterflies, a four-leaf clover brooch/pendant with a ladybird, a snowflake, a dog rose and bar brooch, all signed and marked Norway 925S or sterling CONDITION REPORT: No damage to the enamel. A small dot on the right wing is a mark on the engine turned surface, below the enamel. Tarnish in areas. All the other pieces are in a similar condition, except the flower brooch, which has some losses to thh enamel on the petals.

London Gazette 6.11.1936 No.4120125 Lance-Sergeant Lyle Leavey Gasson, 2nd Battalion The Cheshire Regiment, the Recommendation states, 'On the night of the 21/22nd June, 1936, Sergeant Lyle Leavey Gasson of the Cheshire Regiment was in command of the Railway Patrol Train from Jerusalem to Artuf, with a party of one Corporal and eight other ranks. On arrival at Kilo 64, the line was found to be blocked, and when the party started to remove the block, Arabs opened fire on them at close range, Sgt. Gasson being wounded in the eye.The Arabs then commenced to block the line to the rear of the Patrol Train. Sgt. Gasson engaged the Arabs with Lewis guns, under cover of which the blocks on the line were removed.The Arabs, who were in strength and had surrounded the train, were eventually driven off, after five of their number had been killed or wounded.Sgt. Gasson then took the Patrol Train to Deir-es-Sheikh Station, which he placed in a state of defence, and at dawn, in spite of his wound and the reluctance of the native engine driver and fireman, continued the patrol to Artuf and back to Jerusalem.'1 D.C.M. and 3 M.M.s were awarded for the action.M.I.D.
