1950 Triumph 6T ThunderbirdMake: TriumphModel: 6TYear: 1951Mileage: 330VIN: 14321Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: XVV477Transmission: ManualThe 6T Thunderbird was launched in 1949, with Triumph's intention being to particularly appeal to the American market. It used a variant of the earlier Speed Twin's parallel-twin engine, bored out from 500cc to 650cc, something which pleased US US customers because of the resultant hike in horsepower. Triumph gained valuable publicity for the 6T from Marlon Brando's 1953 movie The Wild One, in which he rode a 1950 example. However, it seems the company was initially less than thrilled with the valuable exposure, and objected in writing to the producers about the use of their machine in a film about rowdy motorcycle gangs. This blue Thunderbird was completed in October 1950 and dispatched to E C Jukes of Wincanton. Not much is known about its early life beyond that, but it seems to have gone abroad soon afterwards, and was only brought back to the UK at the end of 2017. The vendor tells us that this 'sprung hub' model has been fitted with a 1954-60 crank, with its shells reground and rebored. The clutch and chains are recent, and the electrics have been converted to positive earth. A mono carb has been installed, along with a new cut-out in 2018. We're advised that all are 'working well'. The odometer reading indicated is 330 miles. History is minimal; the V5C is present, along with a Vintage Motor Cycle Club Ltd dating certificate, some handwritten notes, and a couple of pictures.
1961 Triumph T21 350ccMake: Triumph Model: T21 Year: 1961Mileage: 1808VIN: H23922Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: 732YUDTransmission: manualTriumph's Twenty One model - its name referring either to the 21st anniversary of Triumph Engineering Ltd or its 350cc engine displacement in cubic inches (ie 21ci) - was launched in 1957 and proved a significant model for the British motorcycle manufacturer as it introduced unit construction. With this build process, the engine and gearbox components shared the same casing. This example was registered in 1961 but reregistered in 1998. The last owner acquired it in June 2017, when its mileage was 59,767 miles. Since then, 3552 miles have been added, bringing the total mileage up to 63,319. However, a new speedometer was installed at 61,511 miles, hence the current odometer reading of 1808 miles. We're told that it has been little-used since the start of the COVID pandemic, but has been well-maintained and thoroughly enjoyed. The paperwork folder includes the V5C, MoT certificates from 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2017. There are just two bills, from 2015 (for some carburettor work as part of an investigation into a loss of power) and a new rear tyre in 2013. There's also a memo book recording mileages and journeys from September 2009 to October 2021. Seven former registered keepers are recorded on the V5C, with the last MoT having expired in May 2019.

At the time the Rudge was owned by his friend and motorcycling legend Bill Kitchen who was unable to attend the event. A photo of George riding the Rudge features in the George Formby Biography 'It's Turned Out Nice Again'. Unused for a number of years, some recommissioning will be required before use. 1952 Fiat 500C Belvedere Topolino""Make: FiatModel: 500C Belvedere TopolinoYear: 1952Mileage: 27894VIN: 364622Configuration: Left Hand DriveRegistration: Contact AucitoneerTransmission: ManualThis 1952 569cc estate variant of Fiat's 500C Topolino - known as the Belvedere ('A turret or other raised structure offering a pleasant view of the surrounding area', referring to its sunroof) - was imported from Italy by a previous keeper. It appears complete, although is not running - however, the engine does turn. The running gear also appears complete. It's believed that it may well have been last used in 2001, as there is an insurance document from this time displayed in the windscreen. It will require a full restoration plus UK registration. The paperwork is limited to an Italian registration document plus a few other items of Italian paperwork. The odometer records 27,894km (17,332 miles).
1976 Ford Escort RS2000 MKIIMake: Ford Model: Escort RS2000Year: 1976Mileage: 28536VIN: GCATSA19174Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: NTT758PTransmission: manualThe vendor has owned this Ford Escort RS2000 MkII, registered in May 1976, since 1991, but it has been stored since 1993. The engine does turn over, although the keys have been lost. We're told by the vendor that this is the first of 500 examples built. Having been out of use for close to 30 years, the car will require restoration. The V5C is present and shows four previous registered keepers. The mileage recorded by the odometer is 28,536 miles, which is not warranted.
1984 Mercedes W123 280CE AutoMake: Mercedes Model: W123 280CEYear: 1984Mileage: 96192VIN: 1230532A186366Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: B598AULTransmission: automatic Purchased by our vendor from another auction last year as a project. The car that had not been used for some years. Whilst the engine appears to be in decent condition, it will require restoration. As is often the case with these things, a similar example, not requiring restoration presented itself to our vendor more recently and he has decided to sell this example offered here. Comes with V5. 96,192 recorded miles.
1968 Jensen Interceptor Series IMake: Jensen Model: Interceptor Year: 1968Mileage: 0VIN: 1152965Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: SKF174GTransmission: automatic This early example of Jensen's mighty Interceptor, in Series I form with 6276cc Chrysler V8 engine, is being sold as a restoration project. It was registered in September 1968 and according to the V5C, has had seven previous registered keepers. 90,092 miles are showing on the odometer, although this isn't warranted. It seems to have been (dry) barn-stored for several years; there is no online record of the car having been MoT'd since 2006 (which is as far back as the online check goes). The V5C is present but there are no other documents. The keys are also absent.
1988 Porsche 944 S Make: Porsche Model: 944 S Year: 1988Mileage: 149197VIN: WP0ZZZ94ZJN400661Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: E95SHBTransmission: ManualFive years after the 1982 introduction of the Porsche 944, the S variant was launched. The S (for Super) featured a high-performance twin-overhead-cam 16-valve 187bhp 2479cc engine, and was capable of 0-60mph in 6.5 seconds and a top speed of 144 mph. Elsewhere there were transmission and suspension tweaks, the latter also improving the handling. This red example was registered in May 1988 and has had nine former registered keepers since then, according to the V5C with the last owner registered since 2012. The odometer reading is 149,917 miles, although this isn't warranted. Please note, the car is currently not running. There's a Haynes workshop manual, plus the original document wallet with owner's manual, dealership directory, radio booklet and other sundry items, plus the service book, which is stamped up to 124,040 miles in 2010.
1984 Lotus ExcelMake: Lotus Model: ExcelYear: 1984Mileage: 96066VIN: SCC089912FHD11653Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: B67PEXTransmission: manualThe Lotus Excel followed on from the earlier Eclat and Elite models, albeit with the bonus of more rugged and reliable Toyota mechanics and the same Lotus Type 912 2.2-litre DOHC engine as found in the Esprit. A total of 2075 examples were built between 1982 and 1992. This example, registered in October 1984 and with four former keepers noted on the V5C, was used as a primary vehicle until approximately 1996, according to the vendor. However, having been off the road for many years, it is now in need of recommissioning and is not running. The odometer shows 96,066 miles. The car comes with its V5C, parts list, service notes and 1986 brochure. On the V5C, the vehicle is recorded as its predecessor, an Eclat, rather than the Excel model it actually is.
1948 Daimler DB18 Make: DaimlerModel: DB18 Year: 1948Mileage: 94415VIN: 52605Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: RRE224Transmission: ManualPurchased new by Gill and Weaver Ltd of Brierley Hill, Dudley. the second owner, also from Dudley, retained the Daimler until 1982 when purchased by another Dudley man, this time in need of repair having been stood up for some time. These repairs were duly carried out, including the fitting of a reconditioned engine. The Daimler was used during the summer months only until purchased by the fourth owner and current recorded keeper in 1989. Dry stored and unused for many years, the Daimler now requires recommissioning and restoration work before being used again. Comes with original buff log book, V5 dating from 1989, a few MoT certificates to 1990, club correspondence and handbook. 94,415 recorded miles
1952 Daimler DB18 Sports Special DHCMake: Daimler Model: DB18 Sports Special DHCYear: 1952Mileage: 94582VIN: D59129Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: OHW512Transmission: manualThe DB18 model was introduced by Daimler in 1939, but production was interrupted by the Second World War. After it resumed, the existing DB18 was joined by the DB18 Sports Special. This was a much more curvaceous and attractive model, with a distinctive rounded radiator grille that would be a feature of Daimler models for many years afterwards. This maroon Barker-bodied drophead coupe variant, with six-cylinder 2522cc engine, was registered in January 1952, and has had five former keepers. The odometer reading is 94,584 miles. The car was last on the road in 2015 when it ran in the King's Lynn and District Motor Club Vintage and Classic Car Rally, so will require recommissioning to return to the road. The paperwork history includes the V5C and a somewhat fragile owner's handbook.
1969 Morris Mini Cooper S MKIIMake: Morris Model: Mini Cooper S Year: 1969Mileage: 0VIN: KA2S61238157AConfiguration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: RUB606GTransmission: manualThe Heritage certificate that comes with this Cooper 'S' records that this was originally painted in 'Police White' and was supplied to Appleyard of Leeds. One of our regular clients has also emailed in stating that he used to own this Mini and from his recollection it was an ex-Liverpool Police Car. An ideal candidate for restoration. The engine fitted is not original to the car. Comes with V5 and Heritage certificate. UK re-registered in 1982, presumably after falling off the DVLA system, with four owners recorded since.
