An early 19th century polished slate and bronze mantle timepiece in the manner of Vulliamy, the gilt Roman dial with engine turned centre and dotted minute track, heart shaped hands and signed Payne, 63 New Bond Street, London, the drum movement also signed. The drum case with eagle surmount, it's head lowered and wings raised, flanked by a pair of recumbent lions each holding a ball and with doleful expressions, upon a plinth base, 25.5cm high x 34cm wideWilliam Payne worked from 163 New Bond Street, he is recorded as working from 1828 to 1851, later becoming Payne & Co in 1857. He was granted a patent for musical clocks and for pedometers.The black Roman numerals rubbed especially to the lower half, the movement untested, lacking pendulum, case with minor chips and nibbles to edges and corners and in need of a good clean and polish. The case has been rebonded at some point. Case back bloomed.

Lima - 5 x boxed carriages, 4 x boxed wagons, and a boxed steam-engine train - The #9420 'British Railways' steam-engine train, which comes in a foam box, is 0-6-0. Lot also includes a #305331W M34376 Lima carriage, a #305350W 'Royal Cambridge' Lima carriage, and similar.
