A 19th Century French Gilt Metal and Porcelain Mounted Mantle Clock by S Martie & Cie, the case stamped by Philipe H Mourey, No.12679, the 3.5ins porcelain dial with gilt Arabic numerals and painted with ribbons and flowers to centre with pink border to the eight day striking movement (lacking bell) contained in drum-pattern case surmounted by two-handled urn, inset with porcelain panels painted with figures in a landscape with porcelain columns to front flanked by bacchanalian cherubs and on shaped base with porcelain and turned feet 21.5ins highThe clock presents in 'as found' condition, the gilding is mostly present and in good condition but is patchy around the two cherubs, particularly around the torso and limbs and there is evidence of re-gilding to the front of the clock itself. The main body of the clock to the sconce at the top has one of the left hand handles/mounting brackets broken off but is present. The base has several cracks to the front in the centre. The enamel work is mostly quite good, with just a few slight hairline cracks. One of the bottom right hand bulbous feet is detached, the rear door is not present. The mechanism appears to be complete but should be regarded as untested (possibly non functional). The hands appear original. Overall and honest thing requiring attention. Please note - Prospective bidders are strongly advised to study all additional images closely prior to bidding.

An Early 20th Century Russian Silver Gilt and Champleve Enamel Rectangular Cigarette Case, Assay Master MC Moscow, stamped 84 standard, the front and back decorated with two swans amongst flowers and scrolls, and with purple oval cabochon button, 4.25ins x 2.875ins overall, gross weight 5.7ozs Scattered crazing and pitting to the enamels in general. Light rubbing to gilding particularly on the corners. Marks struck in the matted gilded section by swan's head on each side. A Late 19th Century French Carriage Clock retailed by Russells Ltd, Paris, the white enamel dial with Roman numerals to the eight day two train movement striking on a gong contained in brass and bevelled glass Corniche patterned case with presentation inscription "Presented to Sister Margaret on leaving St Paul's Tranmere June 1899" 5.25ins high and travelling case for sameThe exterior of the clock presents in good overall condition, showing patination of age and some slight rubbing in places to the gilt work. It is engraved to the top of the case 'Presented to Sister Margaret on leaving St Paul's Franmere June 1899'. All four side glasses and the top glass appear to be free from any chips or cracks, and there is no evidence of any previous repair. The hinges to the door function correctly, the door closes squarely and evenly. The enamel dial is free from hairline cracks and any obvious sign of previous damage or repair. The carry handle is in good condition and contains original leather sleeve and is correctly fastened. The clock winds and set but does not run at present, although the mechanism appears to be complete. There is no key present
