A Victorian clan gathering brooch by MacKay & Chisolm Edinburgh, marked MACKAY & / CHISOLM in tablet punch, of annular form with incised scroll decoration with niello enamel border, with applied armorial of the MacGregor family, engraved to reverse 'MacGregor Brooch 1884' 4.8cm diameter Notes: While this design is a known type, the reason of manufacture is still unknown, but is safe to assume for a large clan gathering or event. It is interesting to note that all recorded (dated) examples have been inscribed 1884 and called 'MacGregor Brooch'. While not all are marked, the only recorded makers of these pieces are MacKay and Chisolm. Of the two known types both are identical, except the addition of niello enamel to some, the type represented here is the scarcer. The arms are that of MacGregor of MacGregor of Lanrick and Balquhidder, baronetcy created 1795, Chief of clan Gregor
A George V cased medallion unmarked, of shaped oval outline with central shield engraved 'Presented by Ex Provost Simpson to (un-issued) for Best Turn Out' with red enamel border, the outer garter border inscribed 'THE RIDINGS OF THE MARCHES 1919', surmounted by the Musselburgh coat of arms with crown above including suspension ring, in original fitted case 8.5cm tall (including suspension)

Brevete S.C.D.G.,' with a 7.25in enamel dial inscribed 'Benzie, Cowes,' and painted two flags and CETONIA, 9in (23cm) dia. mounted on an oak panel, and an aneroid barometer, with an enamel dial and same inscriptions, 9in (23cm) dia., together with a silver 'ship's lamp' vesta inscribed Cetonia, hallmarked Birmingham 1922, 32.25in (8cm) h. (3) Cetonia was a 120ft Schooner, 295 tons, built by Camper & Nicholsons, Gosport, 1902.
A silver cased miniature carriage clock, with platform lever escapement and enamel dial, inscribed 'Charles Frodsham', the engine turned sleeve applied Prince of Wales plumes, the base hallmarked London 1981, 'serial no: 282/1000,' 4in (10cm) h, with Prince of Wales plume winding key. Made to commemorate the marriage of Prince Charles and Diana in July 1981.
