AN ORMOLU PENDULE D'OFFICER LATE 19TH CENTURY The eight-day timepiece movement with white enamel Roman numeral dial mounted in a drum case supported on flanking winged sphinges and on diapered plinth base 17.5cm high Together with an associated garniture of two scent bottles, each with an Egyptian mask above the cut glass body and gilt metal base, 18cm high Condition Report: Movement is fully wound but is presently not running hence requires attention - most likely to the platform escapement. The movement and dial are not original to the case (are late 19th century) although the hands are probably from the original movement. The dial has a light hairline crack through 10 o'clock. The case is in good original condition although is lacking one securing screw for the rear bezel and has overall light rubbing and oxidation to the mounts. The side pieces are scent bottles late 'matched' to the timepiece. The glass of each is free form noticeable cracks but has chipping to the tips of the cut decoration and some staining/fogging to the interiors. One mummiform head caps is fixed in position and the base of the same bottle has a loose section to the gilt platform. The other bottle has removable mummiform head to reveal a glass stopper which is seized tight in the neck. The mounts are generally a little rubbed/oxidised.There is no winding key present. Condition Report Disclaimer

A GILT BRONZE AND WHITE MARBLE CLOCK GARNITURE OR GARNITURE DE CHEMINEE IN LOUIS XVI-STYLE LATE 19TH CENTURY, ETIENNE MAXANT, PARIS The eight-day bell striking movement with maker's roundel to the backplate and numbered 20332, the white enamel Roman numeral dial with Arabic five minutes to the outer track inscribed Boin Taburet A Paris, the case mounted with a putto examining a scroll, the drum movement further flanked by laurel leaves, book, and globe, on a white marble plinth base and gilt metal feet, the case serial numbered 44576 34.5cm high The garniture formed of further putti holding twin candle sconces with fruiting laurel stems above conforming bases and feet, serial numbered 44577 and 44578 respectively, 36cm high Condition Report: Movement is in relatively clean working condition however a gentle clean/service is probably advisable. The dial is free from visible damage/defects. The case is in very good original condition with faults limited to a few small historic edge chips to the marble and overall light to moderate oxidation/mellowing to the gilding. A FRENCH ORMOLU CARTEL CLOCK IN LOUIS XVI STYLE BELL & SON, PARIS, LATE 19TH CENTURY The eight-day bell striking movement inscribed for the maker and with white enamel Roman numeral dial further inscribed, the case of traditional neo-classical form 46cm high Illustrated: The Connoisseur, May 1965, p.4 Condition Report: Movement appears complete (except for the pendulum) and the trains will wind, however both trains are currently not running - most likely due to being gummed-up with dry oil as mechanism is in neglected condition. The enamel dial has a small hairline crack next to the regulation square above 12 o'clock and an edge chip above the X numeral - both are not particularly noticeable when the bezel is closed. The glass has some light but noticeable scratching. A FRENCH LOUIS XVI STYLE MARBLE AND GILT METAL CLOCK LATE 18TH OR EARLY 19TH CENTURY With eight-day bell striking movement with outside countwheel, the white enamel Arabic numeral dial inscribed Gille L'Aine Paris, the case of neo-classical form with eagle and sphinxes 70cm high Condition Report: Movement appears complete and in original condition however is very dirty/oxidised and is generally in neglected condition, hence will require a service/overhaul before putting to use. The enamel dial has some slight chipping/wear around the winding holes as well as light rubbing/wear to the numerals. The case is generally in sound original condition. The upper structure is a little loose on its base (fixings need tightening) and around 30% of the brass bead mouldings are currently detached (but appear to all be present). A GILT METAL AND WHITE MARBLE SKELETON TIMEPIECE EARLY TO MID 19TH CENTURY With eight-day single fusee movement, the white enamel chapter ring with Roman numerals, the movement mounted on a chamfered rectangular plinth with further gilt metal mounts 29cm high Now under a glass dome and on ebonised stand base 40cm high Condition Report: Movement appears complete and all-original and is in reasonably clean condition. The movement will wind and the escapement will beat indicating that it is in working condition however we have not had it running for any period of time hence cannot offer any assurances that the timepiece is free from faults that might cause it to stop. The enamel chapter ring has some hairline cracks and the marble plinth has minor edge wear/chipping and other slight surface blemishes.
