Montblanc, Semiramis, `Patron of the Arts` series, a gold plated and resin limited edition fountain pen, 1997/4810, the black resin body encased in a cage of gold plated fretwork, the clip set with an enamel motif of the heraldic animal, Ishtar, with 18 carat gold nib, piston filler, in its box, with international service certificate and outer card packaging. Semiramis was the Babylonian queen of Assyria and influencial patron of the arts. It was under her patronage that the Hanging Gardens of Babylon were built.

Carlo Giuliano fine enamel and diamond pendant/brooch, the golden guilloché enamel work set with diamonds in a decorated grillwork in the Gothic style, with a border of enamel daisies, a retractable pendant loop at the top, stamped CG in an oval. Circa 1880.Giuliano served his apprenticeship with Castellani before setting up his own retail premises in Piccadilly in 1874, Carlo Giuliano, leading figure in 19th Century Classical and Renaissance Revivalist Jewellery celebrated for his accomplished use of enamel. His Art jewellery is notable for its original and understated elegance, using subtle gemstones which blended very well with gold settings and were embellished with intricate enamel work. Upon his death, the company passed to Carlo`s two sons, Arthur Alphonse (1864-1914) and Carlo, who maintained their father`s success with many royal commissions, until the firm closed in 1914 with the death of Arthur."

Opal and lapis lazuli brooch by Mrs Newman. A rare Arts & Crafts openwork brooch claw set with five opals and four lapis lazuli all cut en cabochon. In fitted box, 5.5cm x 3.5cm. Signed Mrs N. Mrs Philip Newman (1840-1927) was a pupil and assistant to John Brogden. She specialised in the style of jewellery for which her master was known and admired: archaeological, neo-Renaissance and Holbeinesque work, mainly in gold and enamel. In 1867 she exhibited with Brogden at the time of the Paris Exposition. After Brogden`s death in 1885Mrs Newman set up her own business at number 10 Saville Row, where she combined her own technical ability and flair producing many mostly commission pieces. Few replicas were made of any of her designs and it is rare to find two alike"
