An early German Third Reich SA Dagger, the double edge steel blade etched Alles fur Deutschland and with maker`s mark for FW JORDAN SOLINGEN and with the makers logo of a man and woman holding hands. The nickel hilt with Ha mark to the crossguard for the Hansa district, the wood grip inset with enamel SA badge and eagle and swastika, with nickel mounted steel scabbard and belt hanger. A Hitler Youth dagger with nickel plated pommel and crossguard. It has original black chequered grips, the front inset with the red and white enamel HJ diamond with black and gold swastika. It has a broad single edged blade. It has the Tiger Solingen manufacturer's name and trademark. On the reverse it is etched with 'Blut und Ehre' (Blood & Honour). It retains the leather washer at the ricasso. The blade is in very good condition with moderate staining. It has its original black metal scabbard with leather integral frog and retention strap with press stud fastener. A Rosenthal porcelain vase by Bjorn Wiinblad, with mottled gilt ground and lustre enamel, decorated with the figure of a girl between two flowers, 21cm high The property of the late John Grant MacDonald 'Mac' CBE (1932-2017) Mac joined the Foreign Office in 1949 where he worked for over 60 years. His early Diplomatic postings included Switzerland, Cuba, Peru, Washington, Bangladesh and Columbia. In 1986 he was appointed British Ambassador to Paraguay and in 1989 British Ambassador to Panama. His positions when not abroad included Parliamentary Clerk for the Foreign Office and Special Representative of the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs. He also worked for the EU Monitoring Mission based in Zagreb covering Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, Albania and the Republic of Macedonia. He was awarded the MBE in 1960 and the CBE in 1989 CONDITION REPORT: Good condition - no chips, cracks or damage
