There is a creaminess to the underside, especially around the footrim of one. It has been suggested that they coudl have been sprayed.The dishes have firing faults to the body wich have blackened over time. Light pitting to both.One has a 2.5inch crack to the underside. Rubbing to the enamel around the tree.The other one has two similar cracks to the underside with a susbsequent very tiny surface chip to the underside. One of the cracks is slightly visible from the front but is oscured by the factory fault.

Black velvet centre mounted with silver Maltese cross on a star, centrally a hart crossing a ford on blue enamel backing. Three loops to reverse bearing additional holes indicating conversion from an 1878-81 16th Foot example. Star tips with verdigris, the remainder fresh. VGC
Life Guards Victorian Helmet Desk Ink Stand. A very fine quality executed miniature Life Guards helmet complete with enamel decoration to the Victorian crown helmet plate and highlighted with gilt. The upper half opens to reveal a glass ink well. The helmet is raised on a Sheffield Silver plated plinth (Now Copper Colour). Overall GC Height 8 inches.

Dark blue mohair crown and body, with scarlet piping to the welt of the crown and band mounted with a gilt and enamel Household Cavalry cap badge; the chinstrap is retained by 2nd LG buttons. The interior with leather sweatband with gilt initials MGC and tailors details. Slight age and service wear retains a very good shape.
