A late 19th Century French rosewood and marquetry inlaid mantel clock with eight day movement striking on a bell, the white enamel dial with Roman numerals and inscribed 'Bechot a Paris', the rectangular case inlaid with floral swags, scrolls and pendants, beneath a gilt brass carrying handle, height approx 39.5cm (restoration to dial).
A Worcester porcelain teapot and cover, circa 1768, painted with a variation of the Scarlet Japan pattern with alternate panels of figures with birds and flowering plants against an orange ground gilt with diaperwork with red enamel trellis work around the spout and handle, the cover with floral knop, unmarked, height approx 12cm (minor chips and wear). Note: a similar example is illustrated by Simon Spero and John Sandon in 'Worcester Porcelain 1751-1790, The Zorensky Collection', p.215. Here it is suggested a number of features including the thick green enamel, overglaze blue and trellis work around the spout suggest outside factory decoration, possibly at the London atelier of James Giles. A French ormolu and white marble clock garniture, the 8 day movement stamped 'Samuel Marti, 2491,' and striking on a bell to a white enamel dial inscribed 'Mugnier L'Aine A Paris,' the breakfront case with a figure of a young lady and a cherub, 16.75in (42.5cm) h, 11.75in (30cm) w, the cassolettes with reversible tops, 11.75in (30cm) h.
